This book was complex, lovely and heartwarming. Nate and Jenna have been through the gamut. They came together and created a foundation that stayed with me.

This book was both heartwrenching and relatable. It felt like it was real, it was truth and it was about 2 people who were perfect for each other not only because they connected but also because they filled holes for one another.

Let me explain.

Nathan and Jenna meet and connect because Nathan is still lost after the death of his wife. He's past grieving deeply but still dealing with the damage to his heart and his new normal. And, as often happens, he is struggling. He's not sure how to navigate the day to day in his world. Jenna, however, has it figured out and can help.

I love that he never sees Jenna as a substitute for his wife, that he is ready, reluctantly at first, to move into all of the areas where he can find the new balance in his life.

This book is romantic and it's heartfelt. It's an incredibly strong depiction of romance, of life, of change and also of rebirth.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

I’ve seen other reviewers describe this as “emotional and compelling” and they’re absolutely right – it is. This pairing is described beautifully, and the addition of the children just add an extra element of involvement and heart which sets this story apart.

I adored this book. Every single word of it. These characters are just so grounded, so relatable and their interactions so raw, that I couldnt help but be engrossed in their tale and invested in their outcome.

Simply lovely.

While I liked this book at the beginning, it started to drag out and become repetitive at times. It focused on weird details that took me out of the story instead of enhancing it. This is not a light romance read at all, but I can see the appeal for those who want something more dramatic. Trigger warnings for suicide, grief, and depression. Overall it was a good book and had the HEA, it just took a longer path to get there that left me feeling more exhausted than excited.

You know that saying - Saving the best until the last? Well that applies to Down Too Deep.
I have adored reading the previous three books but there is just something special about the final book in this series. Which I must add I am absolutely gutted that this is the end.
If anyone deserves a happy ending it has to be Nathan. J Daniels created a character that almost ruined me but at the same time gave me faith. Then add in Jenna and it is no wonder this book will remain in my heart for some time.
This story reads as a complete standalone, but having said that it was great to catch up with the characters from the previous books.

I have been waiting (impatiently) for Nate and Jenna's story and I can tell you the wait was so worth it. This book gave me everything that I love about J. Daniels' writing. I hate to see this series end but I know what comes next will be just as consuming, enjoyable and breath-taking as this series.

I was pulled right into this story. This story contains suspense, lies, secrets, betrayal, love, heartbreak, and pain.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Four Letter Word (Dirty Deeds #1)
Hit the Spot (Dirty Deeds #2)
Bad for You (Dirty Deeds, #3)

This is Jenna and Nathan‘s story. After losing his wife Nathan buried himself in work and kind of left his daughter a little neglected. He knows he needs reconnect and he knows he needs help. Jenna is a single mother of twins and helps him out with reconnecting. When feelings start, he knows he is even more trouble. He already lost his wife before can he deal with falling for more people and dealing with more lose. Can Jenna and the kids help him heal?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

You ever anticipate a book so much that you hesitate to read it because you know that will mean it’s over? Just me? That’s how I felt about Down Too Deep. I’ve wanted Nate’s story ever since he was introduced in her Dirty Deeds series - I preorder the book as soon as I saw that it was available but i just couldn’t start the book because I was already dreading its end. I’m happy to say that the fear was well founded because I began to miss Nathan, Jenna, and their children as soon as the last word was read. This book was EVERYTHING from beginning to end. To witness Nathan’s struggles and grief and guilt and see how Jenna’s light and love and optimism and real-ness resuscitates him is a moving experience. This book is the epitome of why I live to read. While I’m usually a fan of series that heavily feature characters from previous books, the fact that the couples from the first 3 books are only factored in this briefly was a perfect choice by J. Daniels. Making Nathan, Jenna, and the children the heart and soul of this story made it that much more special. As emotionally gripping as Bad For You is, I have to admit that as a former single mom (and just as the person that I am) Down Too Deep is my favorite book of the series. In fact, it may even be my favorite book by J. Daniels yet... 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

I literally DEVOURED this book!! If it wasn't for sleep I would have finished it one night lol. It was seriously that good and I couldn't put it down!!
This book has some steamy parts but it also shows how a family can build after a tragedy. Nathan was hurting and yes his parents stepped in but now it was time for him to step up. His adorable daughter needed him. Jenna was a Godsend to him. She opened her heart to him and helped in a time of need. What started out as a simple I don't want to say babysitting cause she's an adult but that's what she's doing. Anyway, she creates the loving and laughter that Nathan desperately needs. He starts to crave her and miss her when he screws up and has to beg for forgiveness. She gives him feelings he's never felt before. This book pulls on the heartstrings and makes you realize how precious time is. I must say as much as I love Nathan and Jenna, the kids(Olivia, Oliver and Marley) stole the show. They cared so much and added so much to the story. I mean they were sneaky especially Olivia. Her and her secret notebook added a lot to the story and made me laugh! This is one of my favorites this year!!

Nate is still coping with the sudden death of his wife two years ago that left him a single dad to the adorable Marley. He desperately wants to be the dad that she deserves but he can't seem to figure out how to make that happen. Enter Jenna, a single mom of two eight-year-old twins, Olive and Oliver, who offers to babysit Marley for Nate and slowly helps him feel more confident as a dad. As the two families become closer, the connection between Nate and Jenna can't be denied, but can Nate get over his fears and let himself feel whole again?

This was the first book of the Dirty Deeds series by J. Daniels that I've read but now I definitely want to read the rest! I haven't read many single-parent romances (particularly with both leads being single parents) and I absolutely loved that dynamic. My heart ached for Nate as he navigated his grief and fatherhood. I adored Jenna's twins and the whole dynamic between the two families. There was the perfect mix of humor, heart and steam to make this such an enjoyable read. It was a breath of fresh air for me in the romance genre and I loved every minute of it!

I loved the topics this romance tackled--blending families, dealing with grief and mourning death by suicide. J. Daniels' characterization of the kids was adorable and endearing; they're probably my favorite characters, honestly. I think I found both Nathan and Jenna a little flat as people. Nathan ran a restaurant but I didn't get a sense that he has any real interests or his skills beyond looking hot and throwing a football; Jenna just loves children and wants to be with them all the time; I know some women like that, but most of them have other passions and hobbies and they hit their max with kid-land. I saw how Nathan and Jenna's characterization serves the narrative of making them well-suited to become a blended family, but I wouldn't have minded seeing them fall for more of each other as *people* besides as parents or having sexual chemistry. It felt a bit slow in that sense and almost stalled for me mid-story; I had to set it down for about a week then pick it back up. I definitely had a few laughs throughout and enjoyed the emotional honesty these two work through toward the end. I also thought it finished pretty strong and enjoyed the very ending with all that love in one room.

5 Stars!

J. Daniels is a go-to for me in romance and this series has been absolutely incredible. It's feels like it's been a looooong time since I've read her words so you could imagine how crazy excited I was to dive head first into this all-new book.

Down Too Deep, the fourth standalone in the Dirty Deeds series, was so so good y'all... sexy, swoony, sweet, fun, emotional, and one of the best single parent romances I've read in quite a while plus allllll the feels. This book and these characters (Nate + Jenna and all the kiddies!) unexpectedly stole my heart very early on, tugged on those heartstrings the whole time (ugh!), and yet left me with such a high by the time the words stopped flowing.

Ms. Daniels please never ever stop writing all the words. You know how to stun and captivate in the very best ways.

Run, don't walk, to grab Down Too Deep.

I highly recommend this book.

Down Too Deep is the fourth book in this interconnecting series and my first read from the author. Although characters from the previous books appeared in the story, this can be read as a standalone. This is a contemporary, single parent romance with a lot of feels!

Nathan lost his wife and was feeling out of depth and completely clueless on how to connect with his daughter, Marley. Jenna is a single parent with twins and trying the dating scene again. When Jenna saw Marley at the restaurant that Nathan owns and offer to babysit her, both of them didn’t know that it will be the start of a new beginning.

What can I say aside that this book will hit you right in the chest with its feels! Man, the twins and Marley are downright adorable. I just wanted to hug the hell out of these kids. Ugh! Being a mother myself, I can feel the empathy that Jenna felt for Nathan. It takes a village to raise a kid. Aside from the cute and funny moments with the kids, Jenna and Nathan’s chemistry is spot on. I feel that they are just the perfect fit for each other and I love the swoon worthy flirtations between them. This is a story of healing, learning to love again, and just plain old good romance with a lot of heart! I highly recommends this to those who love single parents romance!

Whew! I was very quickly lost in Nathan's plight and Jenna's saving him. Marley is just the CUTEST THING EVER! (I wanted to squeeze this child and snuggle her!) Jenna is in a position where she's able to help poor Nathan out. She doesn't even hesitate, which shows the kind person she is. She and her kids quickly fall in love with Marley as well. They soon find their new normal and Jenna and Nate's lives intertwine. I was completely lost in their story, the sweetness and the realness. I was soon wrapped in ALL. THE. FEELS. in the great way J. Daniels does. I loved the way she captures the reader. I highly recommend this book.

Nate and Jenna story blew me away!

I have been waiting for their book from Author J. Daniels and it was totally worth it.

My heart broke for Nate. Poor guy has been through the ringer and when him and Jenna get together in this book, it is explosive!

I loved how both of them are single parents and that Jenna is the one to make Nate love again.

And their kids are adorable and made my heart swoon even more with this story.

Just grab this book and have your heart soar with love like Nate & Jenna.

DOWN TOO DEEP was so sweet. Nate and Jenna and the kids are the perfect single parent romance.

Nate is a bit lost as a parent, a workaholic and finds himself and becomes a better man at the hands of Jenna. I really enjoyed his evolution. It was a bit refreshing to see the hero become better at the hands of the heroine (and not a jerky hero).

Jenna is sweet. I don’t know that there are many flaws to her persona. She has a bit of a backbone when he messes up, and she makes him prove that he is their for the long haul.

The kids, all three, are straight up adorable. They provide so many cute and funny moments.

The plot overall was enjoyable. I like a little more angst or drama to more stories, and Down Too Deep Does follows the standard plot line. It was very low angst two. The chemistry between Nate and Jenna kept me engaged, and like most J. Daniels books, the physical intimacy was great.

If you love single parent romances, you will absolutely love this book, and for lovers of the series this is an excellent conclusion to a book world fans have come to love

I have been anxiously and slightly nervously awaiting the release of DOWN TOO DEEP. I enjoyed the first 2 books in the Dirty Deeds series, but really struggled with the way the men "spoke." I get what the author was trying to do in the writing with having them talk like surfers, but it really started to grate on my nerves by the end of each book. I thought the third book would be my favorite of the series because of who it was about. Sadly that whole book fell short for me and I didn't enjoy it very much. I adore this author's writing so I figured I would give this last story in the series a try.

I. Am. So. Glad. I. Didn't. Give. Up!

This story was so adorable and sweet. I loved the way the romance just felt easy and natural. I despise insta-love and DOWN TOO DEEP has a very well written slow-burn romance. The kids added a whole new level of cute to plot. Both Nate and Jenna have complicated pasts when it comes to dating and love, so to watch them grow into loving each other, makes you sit back and root for them.

For fans of the previous books, there are guest appearances. And for someone who hasn't read the other books, DOWN TOO DEEP can definitely be read as a stand alone novel (minus a few HEA spoilers). I'm oddly sad saying goodbye to all the characters. I hope that the author revisits this world in the future.

Single parent book... Absolutely yes please.

Nathan Bell is a single dad who's world came crashing down around him. Now he is a workaholic and has let his parents raise his little girl. But his time is up and he needs to step up and take responsibility for his little girl. But he's drowning he doesn't know how to do this single dad thing.
Jenna is a mother of 8 year old twins and her kids are her life. She has been on her own since they were born and her world revolves around them. So when she sees Nate drowning she can't help but offer her help until he can learn to manage his life better.

I didn’t know this woman at all, and she was offering me the lifeline I desperately needed.

Without realizing it Jenna teaches Nate how to be a better father but also how to deal with is issues and become the man he's suppose to be. But she also stirs up feelings that he never thought he would ever have for a women again. But will Nate be able to give Jenna what she and her kids need and want or is he still stuck on the past and the guilt he carries around with him??

I really really enjoyed this book. Jenna was like a super mom, damn anyone would want to be her. Sweet, emotional romance about second chances at happiness and love and also about forgiveness. You will definitely enjoy this one if you love single parent romances.

Single parent romance is always nice to read. Showing two people not only navigate their way through being a single parent but finding love again and figuring out how to combine the two lives. I always enjoy reads like that. Yes, I remember Nate from Four Letter Word and I am glad he got a book.

Down Too Deep was very fun and sexy with just the right amount of emotion. The sex scenes were hot, hot, and HOT! Did I mention hot? The chemistry between Nate and Jenna was great. With insecurities and broken hearts from both sides I think everything was handled well.

J Daniels knows how to make it heard to put a book down. She has the ability to draw you in immediately and this book was no different. I enjoyed the banter, the storyline and chemistry.
