This was so unbelievably good; I adored every single moment of it! This was beyond a romance book, it was more than two people overcoming their past and moving forward, it was watching a family form. From the first moment, that meet cute in the men’s bathroom doorway, to the meet cute in the dining room of the restaurant, to the meet cute in the doorway of Nate’s home, this family started the loom that forever joined them

It had it’s moments, because, the two adults in charge of this have issues and baggage. Even their overwhelming attraction can’t smooth out those feelings and past haunts that they have. The fragility of human life, the unknowns that you need to suffer, the confusion of things being undone, unsaid, unfelt. The seesaw that Jenna and Nate face internally is even more weighted by the love and concern they have their children. The consequences greater, larger, more impactful. And I needed to read it all, experience it, have them laid bare for me, so I could love right along with them!

Oh, my gosh, I freaking loved this book! I forget sometimes how J. Daniels absolutely sucks me right the heck in with her books, and, man, I was ALL in for Jenna's and Nathan's story. I mean, everything, just EVERYTHING, about this book. I see a book hangover in my future...

It's hard not to sound repetitive, but, man, I am SO in love with Nathan Bell. My heart just hurt for this man that was so mired in his own grief that he had never been able to look beyond it to connect with his daughter, Marley. When Jenna Savage shows up, she is just the lifeline he's been missing. Jenna hasn't had it particularly easy herself, but the circle that she casts is pure light, and Marley and Nathan can't help but be drawn into it. It's not long before these two are changing each other in all the best ways.

J. Daniels always writes the perfect mix of angst, steam, and pure unadulterated love, and DOWN TOO DEEP showcases this very well. I was drawn into the story, into the family and friend circle, into the intensity, from the very start, and I did not want to stop reading until the very end. This is what makes a book a 5 star read for me, and DOWN TOO DEEP is not only that, but one of my favorite books of this year.

Nate, Jenna, and their beautiful family will stay with me for a very long time, and I can't wait to go back and catch up with the earlier books. DOWN TOO DEEP is one for the TBR, reader friends, and I guarantee, it will not disappoint. Make sure to get this one, and enjoy. ❤️

Down Too Deep, the fourth and final installment to J. Daniels' Dirty Deeds series was emotionally charged from page one! I've been a devoted fan of Jessica's for many years now and she still astonishs me with her craft. She's my forever author 💜

Nathan Bell was first introduced in book one. Even then he kept to himself and was reserved. Bearing the guilt of his wife's death, Nathan is now left to take care of his 2 year-old daughter. He is struggling with raising Marley alone and taking back control of his life. When he meets Jenna Savage, a single mother of twins, she becomes his saving grace for she's willing to help him with Marley.

Jenna (Brian's sister) is a great mother and a strong woman. There's nothing she loves more than her kids and when she's offered to look after Nathan's sweet little girl, she's all too excited. Summer days spent at Nathan's home and the beach with the kids not only becomes their new norm but it blossoms into something neither Jenna nor Nathan could have ever expected.

Soon the attraction between them becomes undeniable. Friendship turns into love. Unbeknownst to these two single parents, a beautiful family is created.

Down Too Deep was a moving story with beloved characters. There was humor, tender moments, as well as sexy moments shared between Nate and Jenna.

Unforgettable and heartwarming... Down Too Deep is a must read!

J. Daniels’ fans have been waiting for this story ever since we heard Nate and Marley’s sad story and met Jenna and her two adorable twins. I am happy to say that I am still surprised by this book and that Jessica did a fantastic job with this story. It was everything I expected and much more! Get ready because reading Down Too Deep you’ll fall in love with Nate, Jenna, Marley, Oliver, Olivia and the whole Dirty Deeds crew all over again.

Down Too Deep is the fourth (and final) installment of the Dirty Deeds series and it’s an emotionally gripping single parents romance you don’t want to miss. Nathan Bell is at one of his worst points in his life. He lost his wife, he is lost and very much focused on his restaurant and he is not taking care of his daughter. But that is about to change. Enter Jenna Savage. Jenna loves being a mom and adores her twins. She offers to help Nate with Marley, he desperately needs it and that is the start of a beautiful love story between these two and their children.

I wanted to fix this, to be better.
God, I needed to be better.

I love me a single parents love story. This definitely is one of my absolute favorite tropes because I love second chances at love and family interactions. Well, we got that and so much more. This series is so centered in all the feels and Down Too Deep was no exception. I loved seeing Nate getting out of that dark place thanks to Jenna and the kids. Jenna is the most amazing mother and so patient with her new relationship. The void is filled, this new family is so happy together. Sounds great right? Well, not everything is hearts and flowers, of course.

“It’s terrifying, isn’t it?”
“What?”
“Loving someone this much.”

Nate is afraid of the magnitude of what he feels for Jenna. It’s so much more of what he felt for Sadie and he is terrified of losing her and the kids. Those moments were so heartbreaking but also so beautiful to experience because of the roller coaster of emotions around these characters. I could not help falling even more in love with Nathan and his family. I adored the kids to pieces too and it was so sweet to see how they fall in love with Nate and Marley. I am just so glad this new family has found their much deserved happy ending.

Falling in love was overwhelmingly scary. It was also becoming the easiest thing I had ever done.

So, my rating for Down Too Deep is 5 STARS because I loved every single moment of reading this incredible love story. It was so much more than what I expected and that is saying a lot since I had crazy high expectations. This story was everything, it blew my mind and melted my heart. It was emotional, entertaining and simply, an excellent reading experience. Gah! I am not ready to say goodbye to any of these beloved characters but I am so ecstatic they all found their HEAs. If you still haven’t read this wonderful series, I highly recommend you do because all the books are 100% worth it.

5 “What do you need?” Stars

Down Too Deep is the fourth book in the Dirty Deeds series and one of my most anticipated reads. I’ve wanted and needed Nate’s book for so long. And let me tell you, the wait was so worth it.

If you know me you know that the single parent trope is one of my absolute favorites. And if a single dad is involved—well that’s just icing on the cake.

Nate stole my heart. And that same heart broke for him. Since losing his wife, Nate’s been in a dark place and working nonstop which has led for him to neglect his daughter, Marley. His parents want him to finally step up and start taking responsibilities. So they refuse to continue to watch their granddaughter in order for Nate to start being a dad. But Nate still needs help with Marley—and that’s when Jenna offers to watch her and Nate couldn’t be happier.

Jenna is a single mom of eight year old twins. Olivia and Oliver are her life and there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She’s caring, considerate, compassionate and an all around amazing human being. And when she sees that Nathan could use some help with his daughter, she offers her help in an instant. She becomes Marley’s nanny and falls so fast for that little girl. And little by little she starts falling for Nathan as well.

Jenna and Nate were the ultimate. Their romance was perfect. Their chemistry was off the charts scorching. But what I loved the most was how Jenna helped Nate bond with Marley which ultimately made him become the dad he always wanted to be. She also helped Nate lift the fog he was living in and in the end made everything clear. Jenna and Nate made the perfect team. I loved the relationship that formed between Nate, Olivia and Oliver. It absolutely melted my heart at the amount of love between them. Olivia and Oliver finally had a father figure, and it was beautiful. Jenna, Nathan, Olivia, Oliver and Marley made such a great family and I couldn’t get enough of them.

Down Too Deep hit me with all the feels. It’s a story about forgiving yourself and giving your life a second chance and trusting in love. It’s about family and the lengths one would go to protect at any cost. It’s about friends who are always there when you need them and no matter what will lend a helping hand. I loved the epilogue so freaking much, it was simply the best. I absolutely loved this book! I loved the adorable kids, the swoony scenes, the heartwarming moments and catching up with Brian, Sydney, Tori, Jaimie, Shay and a few others. I really hope there’s more to come to this series because I honestly don’t want to say goodbye to these people just yet. *fingers crossed*

Many fans of J. Daniels Dirty Deeds series have been waiting for Nate's story since book one and it's finally here.

Nathan is a widower with a two year old daughter, Marley, he struggles to connect with. Jenna steps up to help him care for Marley while she also spends time with her own adorable twins.

As feelings changed and grew deeper I found myself rooting for the Nathan and Jenna to find their happily ever after together. There is heartache and hope and their journey isn't easy, but I loved the little family they and their kids made. The author did a wonderful job telling their story and creating a sweet and emotional romance!

5+ Stars! Perfect.

Not many books make it onto my must re-read pile but even at just half way through, I was adding this to my list! I read this story as fast as I could even though at the same time I never wanted it to end. These characters will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Nate (Nathan) and Jenna’s romance is so heartwarming. From the very first time they were in the same scene together, I was rooting for them. I felt every emotion under the sun while reading this story and I loved every single second. I wanted to live in their world, their story, their romance, their everything, FOREVER.

I don’t have anything more to say. This book is PERFECT and it’s a MUST READ.

It’s never too soon to re-read right? Asking for a friend.

Title: Down Too Deep
Author: J. Daniels
Publisher: Forever (Grand Central Publishing)
Publication Date: October 8, 2019
Rating: 5⭐️

Down Too Deep will hit you with all the feels. Nate lost his wife and is struggling to get himself together. He has a little girl named Marley and he isn’t sure how to navigate raising this little girl on his own. After his wife’s passing he shut himself off and lost himself in his work.

Life is about to be changed dramatically when single mom Jenna walks into his restaurant. She has 8 year old twins, Oliver and Olivia. Jenna steps up to help Nate take care of his little girl while he works and these families slowly start to blend and function phenomenally well together.

This was just the sweetest love story, but not solely because of the romantic love. They fall hard for each other’s families and it is absolutely the most heartwarming story. I flew through this one and quickly became a huge fan of J. Daniels. After finishing this story, I went on to binge read the rest of the Dirty Deeds series.

Thank you Netgalley and Forever publishing for my copy. All opinions are my own.

What to your get when you combine a single mother with twins and a single father with the most adorable 2 years old? You get a book that will not only have you laughing out loud but will also break your heart watching these 2 parents weave through their pasts to find their futures. What a story. I think this one out of all the books in this series broke my heart the most, but it also filled it up with light the most.

Jenna is a single parent of twins. She has been doing it on her own from the beginning. She knows what it is like to need a support system surrounding you when being a single parent. Jenna’s heart is just so big, she has room for everyone in it. Including a newly single father who has no clue how to raise a 2-year-old daughter. I loved how it was just her instinct to step in and offer the help she knew Nate so desperately needed. She saw him for who he would be before he even recognized it within himself. Her and her kid’s love for Marley and Nate just shined through the pages.

Nate is struggling. He is struggling adapting to be a single parent, he is struggling with how to live each day. He is surviving but not really living and it reflects in every aspect of his live. His restaurant is going well but could be doing so much better. His daughter is growing but could be thriving. He needs a wake-up call and he is about to get a couple of them. I can’t imagine going through what Nate has gone through in recent years, but can you ever really live unless you deal with the past? I loved watching Nate with Marley and Olivia and Oliver. Once he got over his fear, he was a natural Dad.

These too had a lot to overcome but, in the end, they ended up right where they were supposed to be.

OH MY HEART!!! I thought I knew what I was getting myself into when I picked up Down Too Deep….. I THOUGHT WRONG! Holy Hell, I can say with a full and honest heart, Down Too Deep is my favorite read of 2019!!!

About Down Too Deep:

Down Too Deep is the fourth book in the Dirty Deeds series written by J. Daniels. If you haven't yet had the time to read the first three books in the Dirty Deeds series, have no fear, Down Too Deep can be read as a standalone.

Two fractured hearts and broken souls come together and slowly merge as one. He helps her mend her fears while she helps him mend his heart. And in the midst of it all they’re are three very adorable kids.

Nathan hasn’t had the easiest life these past few years. He lives his life day to day just going through the motions. That would normally work for any human being after tragedy strikes, but Nate isn’t a normal person...Nate is a father. When Nate’s dad finally puts his foot down and orders his son to take care of his daughter, Nate isn’t sure what to do. He knows he loves his daughter, but the pain and guilt of losing his wife intensifies everytime he looks at his baby girl.

Jenna’s life revolves around her twins, Oliver and Olivia, and there’s nothing she wouldn’t give or do for them. After having her own crash in burn relationship moments, that’s just the way she likes it. Her two children and her.

When Jenna meets Nate’s adorable baby girl, Marley, it’s head over heels in love at first sight. It’s the summertime so she offers to help workaholic Nate out for a few months and on the sly she starts to help rebuild the relationship between father and daughter. A relationship that Nate wants with all his heart, but is too scared to map out.

My Thoughts:

This is another novel that shows fate at its finest. Before I first started this novel I knew nobody and no couple could hold a flame next to Sean and Shayla (Bad For You)....but...boy was I wrong! I wouldn’t say I loved them more, however I do love their stories both as equals just in different ways.

Nate and Jenna’s story starts off on an extremely sad note. My heart legit felt like it was falling into my stomach while reading the conversation between Nate and his dad. I felt the fear Nate was feeling rolling off the pages. I felt the pain and agony of a father having to finally step in and put an end to his sons guilt and heartache just enough so he can step in and be the man his daughter needs. There was so much heartfelt pain in this one particular scene. It had me stopping and taking a deep breath, because I knew this wasn’t going to be the only heartache portrayed in this novel. I knew right off the bat that Down Too Deep wasn’t going to be an easy read......But then it happened.. Once I got into Nate and Jenna’s story I literally couldn’t wipe the smile from my face.

Nate and Jenna’s story goes through all the steps a relationship tends to gravitate towards, but in their own way. I respect this aspect of the novel. I loved how their relationship gradually grew from acquaintances, to friends, and then into something more. I loved the fear of the unknown and the guilt of not being sure if he’s moving on too fast or at the perfect pace. This story couldn’t have been told any better than the way J. Daniels told it. The slow build gave it the cute and swoony vibes I was hoping for and in the end, it made all the emotions much more intense and real. And it made all the little steps that much more important.

I do have to say, the little rascals stole the show for me. Olivia, Oliver, and Marley were so stinkin’ cute. I loved reading all their interactions with one another. Each child had their own moment to shine and there moment to give off unending tears. There were some moments I had to sit my kindle aside and just reflect on my own life and how grateful I am to have had both parents there while I was growing up.

Overall, Down Too Deep was a phenomenal romance novel. The family vibes is what initially drew me in from the start. This novel took a piece of my heart and there isn’t any part of me that wants it back. As I sit and write this review, just know, I still have a smile etched on my face for each and everyone of these characters. Through all the turmoil and hardships they faced, they sure did get one hell of a truly deserved happily ever after.

I think I've liked everything J. Daniels has put out, but this was so perfect. I think the kids in this book truly made the story whole.

Nathan is lost after losing his wife, he has neglected his daughter for far too long. Now his parents are telling him they are done babying him and he needs to be there as a father. Except he can't drop his work so he needs a nanny/babysitter for a short period to help out. Jenna, a mother of twins steps in to help. The kids immediately bond with Jenna and her twins. Nathan finds himself needing to be close to this family. Nathan is scared to take that final step and kind of almost ruins his newfound family.

I loved how real and sweet this story was. It broke my heart to see how much children are effected by loss and how easily they can feel abandoned, but really it makes you realize how much kids really absorb in their lives day to day.

I loved Nathan and Jenna, their kids were the absolutely best parts of this story. I found myself wanting more and more of their happily ever after.

Nathan Bell owns and runs Whitecaps Restaurant and is a widow who has checked out of his life and shut out those who care about him. After losing his wife, the single dad has spent the last two years burying himself in work instead of doing the one thing he needed to do most, which is spend time with his daughter. Nate wants to be a good dad and to connect with his toddler, but he’s consumed by grief and guilt. He’s desperate for help, and a woman named Jenna shows him kindness and offers him a lifeline in his time of need.

Jenna Savage is a 27 yr. old single mom who moved to Dogwood Beach about three years ago to be closer to her brother Brian. Being a mom to her eight year old twins is her top priority, but when she crosses paths with an overwhelmed man with an adorable daughter she offers to help him out for the summer. Their arrangement has a deadline, and things would be temporary. Then attachments form as they grow close. Everything is so easy and effortless between them as real feelings and connections form. When the heart gets involved will they risk it all for love, or let fear get in the way?

Down Too Deep (Dirty Deeds, #4) by J. Daniels is a heartwarming, emotional single parent romance with amazing chemistry and all the feels. It’s a beautiful, swoony, sexy story about finding your second chance at love. I really enjoyed this book, and loved getting more of the whole gang. Jenna is Brian’s sister from Four Letter Word, so we see a lot of the characters we’ve come to know and adore. I love this series, and Down Too Deep is definitely one of my favorites!

This is my first book by J. Daniels and it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed this book. What do you get when you add 2 single parents and their kids – a great story. Nathan and Jenna were a great couple. They needed each other more than they realized. They helped each other heal from the issues that they had in the past. It was a joy to watch their relationship blossom into something they didn’t know they were looking for. With each turn on the page, you will fall in love as they do. This is book 4 in the series but you can read it as a standalone.

Dirty Deeds #4, Well, I jumped on to this bandwagon a little late but better late than never. Never read J. Daniels before and I have to say she has a good narrative with the duel first person POVs, which is important to me because I'm picky about my first person POV. I loved the story I love second chance at love stories be it widow(er), divorced, or just former significant other was a loser and in this case we have a widower and a one night stand that lead to twins and single parenthood. Nathan did not make a good first impression wallowing in his grief and guilt and left his parent to raise his infant daughter Marley. After two years his parents finally said enough was enough. Now on his own to take care of his two year old daughter that he doesn't know and manage his restaurant. Jenna, I Loved. Jenna is a great parent for the last eight years has raised her twins on her own, Oliver and Olivia. At first she hoped the father would come around but gave up hope when he signed away his parental rights. Now all Jenna wants to to find someone who will love her kids as much as she does.

Two weeks into having Marley all on his own and he's at his wits end, keeping her at the restaurant isn't working, thankfully Jenna comes into the picture and saves the day. Honestly she would take care of Marley for free but Nathan conscience won't let her. Thing are going swimmingly, Marley loves Oliver and Olivia and vise versa but the sexual tension between Nathan and Jenna is growing each day and not only that they have become friends and really enjoy each others company. By the time the inevitable happens, because it always does it's romance after all, Nate and Jenna are in deep and not just them but the kids two, and the feels are reals. I was smiling and then all the sudden the smile is gone, I'm crying along with everyone else in the book.

Overall, it was a great read. I loved the story and the kids really stole the show. The book works as a standalone I didn't feel like I needed to read the previous books in the series but I kinda want to now. I do hope to read more J. Daniels books in the future.

This is a heartbreaking, beautiful story that will pull at your heartstrings. I believe Down Too Deep has become my new favorite book by J. Daniels. Words can’t express how much I loved this book. Make sure and have tissues handy. I wish I had them while I was sitting in car line at my kid’s school and tears were rolling down my face.

Nate and Jenna are both single parents who met at Nate’s restaurant.

Nate is living with guilt and everyday is a struggle. His relationship with his young daughter is non existent and he doesn’t know what to do.

Jenna has a heart of gold and is so sweet and caring. From the moment she met Nate’s daughter Marley she was captivated.

This book gave me all the feels with a little bit of angst thrown in. I just loved this book and the characters so much. Those twins Oliver and Olivia are the best. You can’t help but love all the characters. They are the perfect family that will you fall in love with. I highly recommend this book. A top read of 2019.

4.5 stars!

I was so excited to get my hands on this book, and wow, what a gorgeous read! A fun, sweet, functional and emotional love story between two single parents, it’s a gorgeous romance with all the feels, and I loved it!

This is the fourth and final book in the Dirty Deeds series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. It’s the story of broody and mysterious bar owner, Nate, and Jenna, the sister of Brian from book #1 (5-star fave, Four Letter Word). I honestly didn’t remember too much about Nate, and I can’t even recall if Jenna had been previously introduced, so you can easily dive into this on its own (though the earlier books are just fantastic, so definitely add them to your TBR if you haven’t read them yet).

Nate is a widower, and since the death of his wife he has buried himself in his bar/restaurant to the exclusion of everything else – including his two year old daughter. His parents have been caring for little Marley, and they figure that the best way to pull Nate out of his grief is to drop him in the deep end, and that’s exactly what they do when they deliver Marley to him. Completely lost and out of his depth, Nate has no clue what he’s doing, so when gorgeous, young single mother, Jenna comes along and offers to help him out, he jumps at the chance.

Jenna is the mother to eight-year-old twins. She is fairly new to town, having moved to be closer to her brother, and she has her life pretty much figured out, but she’s still looking for love. Her children were the result of a one night stand and she’s never experienced true love or even a real relationship, but she’s got a huge heart, and when she sees Nate struggling with his adorable little girl she can’t help but offer to help him out.

And so Jenna becomes a part of Nate’s life, caring for Marley and at the same time introducing Nate to parenthood and helping him form a bond with his little girl. She throws herself fully into the role of caring for the two of them, and is there for them without any hesitation, and naturally and quite unconsciously the five of them become a huge part of each other’s worlds. It’s so, so beautiful to see, and of course it’s only a matter of time before the Nate and Jenna’s attraction to each other starts to sizzle.

The feelings are there from the very beginning, growing deeper the more time they spend together, and the build-up is absolutely delicious! They don’t hide it, they don’t lie about it, they are completely open, and I could feel how much they cared for and wanted each other. It’s not straightforward, but it’s honest and functional (which I LOVED) and it’s only a matter of time before all of that chemistry explodes into epic feels!

"Falling in love was overwhelmingly scary. It was also becoming the easiest thing I had ever done."

It’s fun, it’s flirty, and it’s so damn sweet. I love these two together so much, and I could feel the depth of their feelings for each other. And on top of all of that, it’s sooooo freaking sexy!

“Holy shit,” I gasped when I felt his mouth there. I looked down my body. Nathan was already watching me. He winked. God…I felt my heart skip. “You kill me, you know that?”
He gave me a long, slow lick in answer."

OMG, those winks! *fans self*

There were so many points during the story where unnecessary drama or angst could have been added, but I’m SO grateful that the author never took it there. Nate and Jenna are upfront and honest with each other, and though there is some drama they have things to work through – not only the fact that Jenna works for Nate, but he understandably has unresolved feelings over his deceased wife and is terrified of getting close to somebody again – but it’s beautifully done, with a lot of heart, and I loved watching their journey to their HEA.

A huge shout out to all of the kids, who are so freaking adorable. They each have their own little personalities which are really well developed, and watching them form relationships with each other, and with Nate and Jenna, is just gorgeous and such a special part of the book.

Nate and Jenna are fantastic characters, and I really felt for them - I celebrated with them, I hurt with them, and I fell in love right alongside them. They are just so gorgeous together! Add the kids into the mix, and there were so many sweet and tender moments between the five of them, this book had me smiling hugely all the way through.

A wonderful finish for a fantastic series. I loved it! 4.5 stars.
