As a child Lia was constantly moving, then in the navy it was very much the same. Now shes out and Magnolia Harbor is a good a town as any when she finds a friend from her time in the navy needs a secretary. But when she finds a dog injured in the road she runs to the vet to get help for the pup. Noah is a veterinarian but is town only long enough to get his mother and sister closer to help and out of that dang down. He wants nothing more than to get out of there and never expected to help out Lia who was desperate for his help to fix the pup. From then both their lives are intertwined and an attraction between the two is brewing but both of them have different paths they want to take.

If like a good contemporary book with a small town feel you'll like this. I liked getting to know the characters, seeing the gossip mill stirring up things, seeing the romance, and just seeing how everything played out in this book. I thought it was interesting getting the back story to Lia and Noah it just made them more likeable and it gets the reader's understanding some of his choices that played out in this book. There was just so much to like about this book and you'll have to check it out if you have the time. Its a great summer read so be sure to check it out!

I loved this passionately told story set in Magnolia Harbor. Hope Ramsay put her heart and soul into this story and it shows. I wish the town was real because I want to move there and meet the characters that touched my heart.

Lia DiPalma and Noah Cuthbert seem like lost souls until they meet. Lia, a veteran who has left the Navy is strong but vulnerable. She is lonely and desperately wants to put down roots and to find a place for the first time in her life to call home. Her character will pull you right into the story.

Then there is Noah Cuthbert, a veterinarian who left Magnolia Harbor as soon as he could and moved to Charleston. Fate in the form of a little puppy brings him to the new vet clinic on the island and into the life of Lia.

I enjoyed the inn keeper at the Howland House, her son, and resident pirate ghost, who needs to save lost souls to get to heaven. There is also the tale behind Noah's mom, who has MS and his dad whom he has been estranged from for a long time. His parents are divorced.

There is also Chaplain St. Pierre, who worked in the Navy with Lia. He is now pastor at a church and the ladies of the church are trying to fix him up with Lia because they believe he should be married. This creates some humorous fun.

This book is a romantic tale of love, hope, people finding themselves, cute animals, and dealing with and recovering from past hurts in order to heal the loneliness and finally finding a place to call home. The book is full of wonderful characters for the reader to fall in love with and there are so many different events in the book to keep you turning the pages to find out what will happen next. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Lia DiPalma has just left the Navy and has come to Moonlight Bay to look up an old friend in the hopes of finding a new start in life. On her way into town she finds an injured dog in the middle of the road. She takes the little pup to the new vet clinic in town hoping they can save the poor boys life.

Noah Cuthbert, a veterinarian is in Moonlight Bay hoping to convince his ailing mother and younger sister to come back with him to Charleston. He wants nothing to do with the small town due to unhappy memories from his childhood, yet his family is trying to convince him to stay and take over the new vet clinic. When he receives a call from his grandmother that someone is at the vet clinic with an injured puppy, he can’t help but respond.

Noah and Lia get off to a rocky start when she won’t adopt the puppy and help him recover. She is battling her own demons over loss and can’t take on any new responsibilities. She wonders why Noah can’t take the puppy as he is a vet without a pet. Noah is also struggling with his own feelings of loss and hurt. The two banter back and forth while the ladies of Moonlight Bay are trying to meddle in both their lives. Can they save Noah and Lia?

I found this story so captivating getting to know both Lia and Noah along with all the other residents in this small town. My heartstrings were tugged in so many different directions as the story unfolded. It was so much more than just a romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I am so thankful to the author, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book to review.

This is another wonderful book by Ms. Ramsay. I have enjoyed her books for many years and was not disappointed in the story of Lia and Noah. The story has humor, romance, a little violence (although not graphic), coming to terms with oneself, animals, family, woman power, faith and of course, small town eccentricities.
Noah is a veterinarian who doesn't own a pet. That should tell you right there that he has some things he struggles with. Lia was on protection service for military chaplains until she froze in a dangerous situation. Now she doesn't feel like she deserves much, certainly not the dog she helped save as she came into Moonlight Bay for the first time. Although the two are attracted to each other there is nowhere for it to go, because Noah is leaving town again. If Lia can help him work out his problems with his family, will he stay? Will they have a chance at a relationship then? And Liamay have to prove to herself how strong she is and deserving of good things in life, like Noah and the dog.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

First time reading this author but would definitely read her works agin. Usually I'm not much on reading purely romance books which I am happy to say this one was not altogether just about the romance. A lot of disguised undertones of current issues regarding family, women's issues, health issues abuse, abandonment, loss, military life, religion, forgiveness, just to name a few. You can take the book at face value at the pure romance or look a little deeper into those issues as you see them. Interesting! More here than meets the eye at first glance.
I had no idea the setting was an imaginary coastal area in my home state of South Carolina when I chose the book to read. ( Except Charleston of course is quite real and a lovely city. We love our low country setting books in SC! Characters are well developed and quite believable and very likeable. Cute that the street names are all flowers or native plants. Interesting fun book. Enjoy!I

Noah Cuthbert is back in Moonlight Bay for the summer in an attempt to get his mom to move back to the mainland with him. Even though he intends to leave as soon as he can he ends up becoming the town's vet for the summer. Lia DiPalma has just arrived in Moonlight Bay after leaving the Navy, ready to finally put down roots somewhere after a life spent never staying in one place for long. She starts working as the office manager of the animal clinic and soon begins having feelings for her new boss, Dr. Cuthbert.

I loved all of the elements of this story - the romance between Lia and Noah, Lia's journey to self-forgiveness, Noah's relationship with his family and his hometown, and all of the secondary story lines that developed as well. However, given the short length of the book overall, it felt like there were too many story lines to fully tell, which made the romance part of the story (the main plot) feel a bit rushed and haphazard at times. I would have liked to see more of Lia and Noah's relationship as it deepened. Overall, still an enjoyable summer read.

3/5 stars

I really loved this story. All the characters were very strong and the way they were blaming themselves for somethings that weren't even their faults. The story centered around Noah and Lia. These book had many topics in it. Hope Ramsey did wonderful job with this story. A GREAT READ.

Noah left his hometown because of family conflict and town politics. Lia came to town looking for a place to call home. To finally set up roots, I always enjoy reading Hope's books. They pull at your heart strings, they make yo feel a range of emotions. A great read

Lia comes to Magnolia Harbor to see if her chaplain who she used to work for in the service will give her a job as the church secretary. Lia finds a puppy that has been hit. There is no veterinarian in town because he quit. Noah who is a veterinarian and is visiting trying to get his mom to move back to Charleston with him. He helps Lia and the town by being a temporary veterinarian. Lia gets involved with the town and the community. I enjoyed this book. I love Hope Ramsay books. Their are a lot of twists and turns and you get caught up in the family drama. I received an early copy from NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing). This is my honest opinion of this book.

3.75 Hearts After Lia finds a hurt puppy in the street she heads to the closest vet office. Noah is called in to help the puppy and sparks fly.

Lia is trying to start over in life after getting out of the Navy. Noah plans on moving back to Charleston.

I enjoyed this story very much. The characters are written very well. The background story seems to be a lead in to the next in the series which I am interested in reading.

This is the second in the series but easily can be a stand alone. Great curl up and get away from it all read. Higgins is high on my read list and should be on yours too.

Hope Ramsey delivers another delightful small town to make that will warm hearts and entertain the reader from the first to last page. A must read!

This is an author I’ve read for years, and I know I can count on her for a delightful, heart-warming, small-town romance. She hasn’t disappointed me yet, and this second book in the Moonlight Bay Series, set in a place near to my heart, the South Carolina coast, is another beautifully crafted story. With just the right amount of detail and color, the setting is realistic, vivid and full of life, setting the scene perfectly.

Lia DiPalma has been on the move all her life. She’s no longer a part of the family she’s been with the longest, the US Navy, and finds herself headed to the small town of Magnolia Harbor on the coast of South Carolina. Her Commanding Officer, Chaplain Micah St. Pierre, always spoke fondly of his home town, which piqued Lia's curiosity. Micah now has a church of his own in his home town and Lia hopes to convince him to hire her as the church secretary. She's loyal, compassionate, organized and intuitive – all things that can be helpful to him in his parish.

Before Lia can even make it to town, she finds an injured puppy and takes him to the town's veterinary clinic, only to find it's not open because they don’t have a doctor. But the kind older lady who answers the door calls her grandson, Noah Cuthbert, a veterinarian visiting from Charleston, to treat the puppy, and Lia and Noah's first meeting is less than positive. Noah is only in town long enough to move his mother, who has MS, to Charleston so he can take care of her. He swore he wouldn’t return to Magnolia Harbor for anything more than a short visit, but he finds himself agreeing to work at the clinic temporarily, with Lia as his office manager until the church board decides on the secretary position.

As is typical with this author, this story is so much more than a romance. With small-town quirks, well-intended scheming, broken family bonds and secrets that come to light, it’s a story of courage, determination, growth, forgiveness, healing and finding home. I adored these endearing, authentic characters and felt a part of the story as I watched Lia and Noah mend, self-actualize, find forgiveness and love. If you’re looking for a poignant, heartwarming, inspiring read this summer, look no farther.

*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.

I will leave a review for this book on Amazon on Aug, 06, 2019.

I received this book from NetGalley and the Publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the second book in the Moonlight Bay Series, and I fell in love with Lia. Fresh out of the Navy Lia is in search of a place to settle down. The quaint town of Moonlight Bay fits the bill. Noah is back home due to his moms illness, with plans to move her and his sister back to Charleston with him. This book can definitely be read as a stand alone book. A very well written book, and I am sure others will enjoy it as much as I did.

Summer on Moonlight Bay by Hope Ramsay is a wonderfully written tale rich with memorable characters. A while back, I read the first book in Hope Ramsay's Moonlight series The Cottage on Rose Lane.

One thing I love about Hope is her character development is amazing. Effortlessly, Hope is able to create characters that are relatable & believable. It is incredibly easy to connect with the narratives. Honestly, I sit down to start the book & I look down & I'm a third of the way through. Hope Ramsay just sucks you in.

While this is the second book in the Moonlight series, it is easily read as a standalone. Just jump in & read it. Summer on Moonlight Bay is timely as well. There are definitely some topics that are reminiscent of what's in the newspaper headlines.

THE VERDICT

I am Really Into This book! Read this if you're a fan of Happily Ever After & a fan of Hallmark movies. Honestly, Hope Ramsay just makes you feel good.

Although second in the series, this can be read as a standalone book. Lia and Noah are an unlikely couple so meet under unusual circumstances, but somehow it all works out. There's laughter, romance, spousal abuse, and family issues addressed in this story with two love stories. It somehow all flows and was a great read!

One disappointment is that there was no extra story as advertised. It shouldn't be included in the description if not being sent to readers!

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for my honest opinions.

This was another of Hope Ramsey’s good books! She does an excellent job of describing the characters so I felt like I was friends with the main characters. The book is about second chances, forgiveness and taking control of, rather than running from, life. I really appreciate that there was no explicit sex scenes and a minimum of swear words. I’m looking forward to Ramsey’s next book

Lia has just come to Magnolia Harbor, South Carolina after spending many years in the US Navy. She is homeless and jobless but hoped to meet an old Navy friend who lives here and perhaps work with him again. On her drive in, she sees an animal lying in the road. She stops to check on it and finds a darling puppy who is injured. Lia and the puppy make it a veterinary clinic and meet Noah, a visiting veterinarian. Lia tries to settle in town and decides that it might be a great place to live, especially because of Noah. I loved this sweet romance and enjoyed the characters and fast-moving plot. Very interesting subplot about domestic violence. Also contains a bonus novel.
