Interesting story, how we cope with death from the perspective of younger women.
Since this is an excerpt, it's difficult to provide a thorough review. Were the characters well developed? Hard to tell... The relationships between the women becomes more defined as we progress through the chapters. I don't think I would read this book in its entirety as I find it unrelatable.

Sunday Potluck Club by Melissa Storm a fair three star read. I only had the first few chapters of this one, so it may get better, and I really hope it does as it shows promise, it just didn’t deliver yet. Four friends in this story are all interesting and bring something to it, getting more of their stories may make this a better read.

I didn't realize this wasn't the whole book - BOO!! But from what I have read so far, it will be a great book. I can't wait to read the rest of the book and see where the story and characters go! I want to be a part of this potluck club!

Thanks NetGalley for the snippet ARC.

For whatever reason I only got sent a sample. However I did like and read the sample, but not enough to buy the rest of the book. How did the ladies work through their mourning, did they ever get their dogs adopted, what was going on with the quiet child in class? I guess I will never know.

I didn’t realize it was only a snippet of the book. It starts off good. It’s the story of four friends who meet in a
Cancer ward because they are caring for a sick parent. This is the start of the third funeral and one of the parents is in
Remission. They have a pact to not judge how each of them
Grieve but they second member Amy, who lost her mother a month before, they nod her friend Bridget is not dealing with her mother’s loss. Amy is just returning to work but hadn’t been herself since her mother’s Passing. The book seems interesting and I would consider finishing it.

This is only an excerpt of the book that will come out in 2020. It’s a beautiful start of a story about friends learning to grieve together and alone. I’m excited to read the rest of it when it comes out.

The story of friends who help each other get over family sickness is a really heart warming thought. These women are there for each other, when any one of them needs a helping hand. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

An intriguing excerpt, I want to know what happens. This was just the start of the story and there's so much I want to know. The characters are well written and make for a good story. I hope the book has some good surprises instore. Can't wait to read the book.

I received an excerpt from The Sunday Potluck Club as an ARC from NetGalley. When I started reading this, I didn't realize it was just an excerpt and now I need to get the full copy to find out what happens. The Sunday Potluck Club is a group of four women who are bound together by the death of someone important in their lives. They become friends and provide support for each other.

I really enjoyed the excerpt - I would love to read more! The characters and premise are interesting and am curious to see where it's going.

Four women met in the cafeteria of the hospital where each was spending time with a parent undergoing chemotherapy. A year later, they are grappling with loss and grief and how to support each other. They turn to having weekly potlucks to connect and heal, while also striving to find meaning in their daily activities.

While the author is tackling a very worthwhile and difficult subject in dealing with grief, the pace and flow of the story just didn't draw me in. The sentence structure felt a bit choppy and lacking descriptive elements to really connect me to the characters. Perhaps the book in its entirety will be more developed and heartfelt, but as it is, the story left me wanting more substance.

This was an excerpt for The Sunday Potluck Club. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the advance copy excerpt in exchange for an honest review.

Sadly was just an excerpt on here, and of course it ended right where it was getting good. A teaser that worked. I am interested in reading the full story now, but will most likely forget a lot of it before it comes out. The book is about a small group of women who got together to share their struggles and grief with parents going through cancer treatment and later dying. The bond between them is strong, and they still meet and are friends even after the loss. Would recommend, at least from what I've read so far.

Only the first few chapters were available to review on NetGalley. It was a good start and I'd enjoy reading more.

Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

After reading this book, I can say that friendship that are worth a lifetime can be found in the darkest of places. The friendship of Bridget and Amy is found in one such way in one of the most peculiar places, which is the cancer ward. They embark on a journey of healing facing thorugh hardships while finding companionship with other grieving mothers. This has been an amazing read .

This is a review for the first few chapters made available to Netgalley. Thanks for the copy of this.

This was just ok. I honestly stopped 30% in and just didn’t care. I had a hard time differentiating the characters and didn’t feel like there was much intro about the characters. Nothing to really draw me in.
