This seems like it's going to be a really lovely book! The excerpt introduces us to four friends who met because they each had a parent fighting cancer. Amy (our protagonist) is having a hard time dealing with the death of her mother and I think that's a feeling that anyone can imagine or relate to. The death of any loved one is incredibly hard, especially when we're young. I think it's a great start to reading about someone figuring out how to deal with their grief and rebuild their life.

We are also briefly introduced to one of Amy's student, a young girl who definitely looks like she needs some support. As a teacher, I really appreciate that Amy spots that Olivia needs help and is determined to do so. I'm really interested in seeing where this story takes us and hopefully I'll have the chance to read it in 2020!

This was a great preview into what is yet to come in February 2020.. How have the women changed based upon loss and what do they want to be?

A cute book full of friends, jokes and secrets. It was a present read and went by quick. Definitely a weekend kind of read.

Dang it! I want to read the rest of this book NOW! The four friends are each already so interesting, I want to get to know them better. The scrapbooker had such an interesting way to help deal with the death of her mother. What about Any & the mysterious Trent who rear ended her? I want to read more about how people deal with death/loss differently.

I have mixed thoughts on this excerpt. I love the idea of these four friends coming together and helping each other get through one of the toughest times in their lives, but I really could care less about the main character, Amy. Friends Amy, Bridget, Hazel, and Nichole met in the cancer ward and, after overcoming serious loses, try to continue on with their lives in Anchorage. But, after dealing with cancer and loss, moving on isn't so easy, at least not for everyone.

As this was simply an excerpt and not the full novel, I find it difficult to write much of a synopsis and a review. I am interested enough in the characters to continue reading but I do not know enough about the plot to say that the plot has drawn me in. Still, I am curious enough to read more.

3 stars at this point. Interesting enough, but not memorable. I am happy enough to revise once I have read this title in it's entirety.

Somehow I missed the fact that this was only an excerpt of a coming book, and was so disappointed when it ended. This book is so good and I was looking forward to seeing how each woman overcomes her feelings. I like to see if I can figure out how things will progress in a book, so looking forward to reading the entire book to see if my thoughts are correct.

I recommend this as an enjoyable read. I was given an advanced copy of this book by Kensington publishers through Netgalley and was under no obligation to post a review.

I opened this planning to read the first chapter and finish the rest this evening but I finished it all right away. The bond between these four friends captured me and I can't wait to see how the rest of the book unfolds.

I just got an excerpt of this book from NetGalley. When I first started the book I wasn't sure that I would like it at all. The four women in the book all met at the cancer ward of the hospital when their parents were all undergoing treatment. The book starts when three of them are headed to the funeral of the fourth woman's mother. After that funeral, the focus shifts to a reentry into the world of work and the struggles that includes. This book seems like it will be an emotional roller coaster. In the excerpt, I laughed and I cried, and I can only assume that will continue in the rest of the book. #TheSundayPotluckClub #NetGalley

They met in hospital cancer ward while each was caring for a parent in the terminal phase of the disease. After the death of the last one each tries to deal with grief in her own way and that affects how she tries to be supportive to the others. Seems like a good start, but I'm not used to getting only a partial from NetGalley. Seems rather pointless to me.

This book only gave an excerpt to read after finishing the excerpt I feel that it is a book that I really would like to read. The characters are all very strong and the reason for the club is a good one. I am very curious as to how these characters in the story progress.

This was not the whole book so I can’t really review it. I liked what I read to finish it when I can get a whole copy. I will review it then.

I think by reading the excerpt this book is going to be a Chick Lit book! I think a lot of women are really going to enjoy this book!!!

Although I was well aware that it is a preview, I was a tad disappointed I could not read more about Amy, Bridget, and Hazel, and their journey towards healing. As someone who has recently lost a parent, I could relate to the characters and their struggles. It has the makings of a great book. Looking forward to reading the complete version.

Author Melissa Storm opens with a funeral. Two best friends, Bridget and Amy, are obviously at a low point after experiencing the loss of two loved ones. It’s heavy and tense, and Storm expertly explores the complicated array of emotions individuals experience when processing grief in only a few pages. And yet, there are pinpricks of hope— the beginning threads of these women finding a new purpose, a new place, and maybe even a bit of romance.

It’s a tantalizing start and I can’t wait to read the rest.
