Dallas lives together with her brother since her parents have been killed in a car accident. Drayton plays for the high school football team. They led totally separate lives til one day Drayton hit Dallas's car with his motorcycle. Since then they bump into each other more frequently than Dallas would wish for. Although Drayton is popular and has lots of female fans Dallas is definitely not one of them but the more time they spend together the more they understand each other and gradually fall in love (even though Dallas doesn't really believe in love). They romance is very steamy and definitely swoon worthy! At some point it will turn out that Dallas is not the only one who suffered loss. Additional points for swoon!

The QB Bad Boy and Me was a very cute YA/NA book and I really enjoyed reading it.

The story was funny and easy to read and even though it had some clichés, I still enjoyed reading about Dallas and Dray!

I do feel like some things were thrown in the story and didn't have the follow up they entailed, but other than that this was the kind of highschool romance I enjoy. It has the right ammount of sweetness so it was enjoyable.

And despite having some elements I've seen in other stories, this story captured me and I felt immersed in it. It's a great debut story and I'm glad I read it.

I love a good sports romance but for me, this one was just average. I really had a hard time getting into the whole storyline at first. Dallas was ok as a heroine and Drayton was just too stereotypical.

The book just lacked originality and seemed like every cheerleader/football player romance. It was slow-paced and I really wanted to give up on it. It did have its moments that sparked an interest but overrall I could take it or leave it.

I was unsure as to how much I would like this story when I first saw it, but discovered it was a nice little read, that I actually read years ago on Wattpad (and didn't realise till I started getting deja vu). This is definitely your typical teen read, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in that genre, as it displays a great high school romance story.
Tay Marley creates some strong characters, that have some really good interactions. However, I did find that at times it got a little much for me plot point wise. The trip to the college was just a little far for me to imagine, and took me out of the story a little bit. Other than that though, I easily escaped into this world created by Marley.

Flaws : repetitions and super long descriptions
They behave as colleghe guile’s not high school

Parts of this book were enjoyable, but the ending was a little irritating to me. Some things should not work out perfectly. I also didn't think this read like a teen book; the main characters pretty much ran wild, which did make for some interesting parts, but also made me question where everyone's parents were. The plot line was nothing special and not much happened. The sibling relationship between Dallas and Nathan was sweet at some points, and fairly unbelievable at others. The names also bugged me a little. In my opinion, Dallas and Nathan don't go together.

The QB Bad Boy and Me is a fun young adult romance. Tay Marley managed to capture my interest immediately, taking me along on this fun high school romance.

Dallas has had a rough life and is super independent. She has her goals set, her rules firmly in place, and knows exactly what she wants. She isn't the most lovable of characters, but I certainly enjoyed her and her story.

And then there's Drayton. He's the typical high school star quarterback who's loved by all. Thus a perfect reason for Dallas to hate him. When he hits her car, she'd suddenly forced into talking to him.

What follows is nothing unique, but it's a whole lot of fun. And the ending, when we finally get to know what Drayton is thinking, is awesome.

I have to admit I was confused by some of it though. I'm not sure how being a cheerleader looks good when applying to a dance school. And I found the troublemaking bitch to be a little confusing. Her role was definitely forced, and Drayton's treatment of her just seemed too nice.

Yes the story took some liberties and isn't completely realistic, but it's still a fun read. I always enjoy a good young adult romance and this one is just that. Nothing extraordinary, yet perfectly riveting and enjoyable.

The QB Bad Boy and Me had me laughing, yelling at some of the characters, and in the end, happy. It's a fun, quick read when you're in the mood for a high school athlete romance.

The QB Bad Boy and Me by Tay Marley is an adorable, funny, and heartwarming YA contemporary romance. I loved every moment until the very end and cannot stop swooning over Drayton and Dallas.

So absolutely smitten with this book! It’s such a cute teen romance perfect for anyone looking for that wonderfully sweet make your heart skip a beat feeling of being young and in love for the first time. The plot is simple and quite predictable – a popular quarterback and sassy cheerleader falling for each other in their last year of high school as they both deal with choosing a college, family drama, and new experiences. I’ve read many books with similar storylines, but this honestly caught me off guard. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do and become so addicted to the story and characters that I never wanted it to end. I enjoyed the humor, the friendships, the family dynamics, the serious parts, the endearing moments, and every single scene that managed to touch my heart. Marley penned a fantastic love story that’s not only charming and fun, but also effortlessly believable, relatable, and affecting. This book had me enthralled from start to finish and I loved it all.

I love the characters in this book. They’re likable, interesting, and just wonderful on their own ways. Gabby and Josh are so precious together and such great friends to Dallas and Drayton. I liked their romance too. It’s cute and swoony. I love that Gabby is a hopeless romantic. Definitely saw a little bit of myself in her. I’m not too fond of Nathan, but I don’t dislike him.

Dallas and Drayton are made for each other and I wholeheartedly cheered them on! They’re both such strong, independent and quite stubborn individuals, but I love that deep down, they’re actually very sweet, caring, and loving people. Dallas is my kind of girl – she’s fierce, determined, and not afraid to say what’s on her mind. Drayton is such a softie at heart. I love how protective he can be… even though he is a bit too much sometimes, his intentions are good. I love them as they are and totally adore them as a couple. Their chemistry is absolutely delicious and filled with moments that have all the FEELS. The sexual tension between them is wild and undeniably palpable. I loved their playful bantering, their flirting, their sarcasm, and their sense of humor. Their relationship is just so amazing and had me swooning the entire time. It’s realistic, relatable and feels genuine. I definitely have a new favorite OTP and Drayton and Dallas are just so darn perfect and cute together.

This story is irresistibly charming, well-written, and refreshing. There are quite a few cheesy moments and some that are a bit cliched, but I’m not complaining. I smiled, laughed, swooned, and even cried a little. The characters are likable, the plot is engaging and emotional, and the romance is utterly swoon-worthy and adorable. I really love this book and if I could change anything at all, I wouldn’t… well, except maybe doing a dual POV. I just really want to get into Drayton’s head and know everything he’s thinking and feeling.

This book is so good and I’m definitely excited to read more from Tay Marley. I wasn’t familiar with this story when it was on Wattpad, but The QB Bad Boy and Me has stolen a piece of my heart. It’s truly a delightful, entertaining, and touching read and I cannot recommend it enough.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. All thoughts, feels and swoons are my own.

Dallas was on cheer team. Dallas had one more year of HS. One more year before she makes her way to California to live the way she wants to. Dallas detested cheerleading but wanted to go to the California Institute Of The Arts to pursue a career in dance. Their School didn’t have a dance team so she was stuck with cheer team. The small studio in town only offered ballet and tap. Gabby was Dallas’s best friend. Gabby adored the social life . Even though they both flew under the radar. Most of their outings were for gabby’s benefit. Nathan was Dallas’s legal guardian and older brother. When Cassie got out of school that day there was a dent in her car. But noone stayed back to take the blame and pay for the damage. She got home still angry about the car and the doorbell rang. It was Drayton Lahey- captain and quarterback of their football team who looked like a GQ model. He told dallas he hit her car today. He said he followed her home from school and handed a fistfull of cash to fix her car. Than Nathan came home and Drayton said “ Your brother is Nathan Bryan?” Than Nathan and Drayton started talking football and Nathan invited him to stay for dinner and a couple beers. Nathan had been the QB when he was in HS but suffered an injury and didn’t get surgery right a way and then he couldn’t go pro. Dallas stayed in her room and Facetimed Gabby. Drayton came to tell her dinner was ready. Dallas’s parents had both died in a car accident when she was nine. Her grandmother Nan helped Nathan take care of Dallas until Dallas was fifteen and she had passed away. Drayton said to call him Dray and helped her with the dishes. But the next day when she went to drayton to return the leftover money from her car repair he was totally different and a jerk. He tried to talk to dallas later but she told him never to talk to her again. Gabby was giving her a ride home from school, as her car wouldn’t be ready until Thursday, Gabby brought up she wanted to go to a sixteen plus club-Illusion- opening in Cripple Creek and dallas agreed to go even if there were better things she could think to do. Gabby was there when Dallas needed her so she was there for Gabby. Dallas and gabby were drunk before they got to the club than Drayton came up to her and she told him to go away and leave her alone. Gabby hooked up with a guy she knew and Drayton offered to give her a ride home but Dallas said no and started walking until she realized she had walked farther than she had planned, she was pulled into an alley and pushed against a building wall. It turned out to be Drayton teaching her a lesson as some weird guy had been following her and he did show up at the beginning of the alley but he couldn’t see them. Dallas than gladly took a ride home only he took her to his house saying he had to take care of her. They slept in his bed but did nothing.
I loved this book. I loved drayton and dallas together and how they interacted. How Dallas wouldn’t be anyone but who she was and Drayton could be himself with Dallas. I loved that drayton saved her from being attacked or even worse because he noticed the weird guy and followed her. I loved that Drayton wouldn’t give up on seeing Dallas. I loved the ending of this book. I loved the plot and the pace. This book had me right from the start and kept me until the very end. I loved Gabby and Dallas’s relationship. I also loved Nathan stepped up to take care of his younger sister. I loved how dallas got drayton to open up and didn’t run away from him like others had.I have a new favorite book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

The QB Bad Boy and Me is a really cute teen romance. I could easily see this being made into a Freeform or CW TV series. There were some parts that seemed drug out or a little rough, but overall, I really enjoyed Drayton and Dallas's story.

Drayton is my favorite type of hero. Cocky. Sarcastic. Protective. Big Hearted. Sweet. And Dallas is my favorite type of heroine. Independent. Fierce. Loyal. Strong. The QB Bad Boy and Me also has fun and real supporting characters. Gabby, Josh, Nathan. All of them made this story feel well rounded and honest.

If you're a fan of teen romances and easy reads, then this may be your type of book.

I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I recently had the chance to read The QB Bad Boy And Me in advance thanks to NetGalley and the publisher.

I definitely enjoyed the book. It’s well written and the characters’ emotions are expressed well. They’re also flawed (with actual flaws not flaws that are somehow strengths) and full of complications. The title doesn’t really do the characters or the emotions justice, but it does express the basic premise pretty perfectly.

There are only slightly negative things that I have to say about this book.

One is that these teens clearly live in the CW Teen Soap universe because, for about eighty-five percent of the book, any and all parents and guardians were pretty indifferent to what their teens were off doing.

The second thing is that the book felt a bit too long at times. Toward the middle I quickly skimmed and scanned several pages just to get through it.

But those things are small and inconsequential. They are easily looked passed if you are contemplating reading this book. I would definitely recommend giving this book at least one try (especially if you’re into the rich guy/poor girl trope).

And even though it felt long at times, for most of the book, it was a quick and easy read.

Tay Marley wears many hats: bibliophile, entrepreneur, wife, mother, and featured Wattpad author. Her whirlwind journey on Wattpad begins in 2017 and led to one hundred thousand dedicated followers, a five-part series, and three stand-alone books, including her breakout story, The QB Bad Boy and Me, which have amassed over forty-one million reads on the platform.

The QB Bad Boy and Me tells the story of Quarter Back Drayton and Cheerleader Dallas. Everything changed the day Drayton Lahey crashed into Dallas’s life…

Sparks fly between Dallas Bryan, a no-nonsense cheerleader with her eyes on a CalArts dance scholarship, and Archwood High’s bad-boy quarterback, Drayton Lahey. She’s convinced they’re wrong for one another and is intent on proving that she can resist his brooding attitude, impressive abs, and all-around hotness. But when Drayton falls for her, their relationship takes a turn for the intense—in ways neither could have anticipated.
I
t sounds a really cliche plotline. We know.....QB meets Cheerleader, lots of angst and they eventually fall in love. And it sort of is, but that's what makes it good.

The way the main characters act with the parental figures to me sometimes is a little too rude as there doesn't seem to be any repercussions for how they act towards them when we all know if you talked back to parental figures while in high school you are grounded.
This story though is a really nice read. It's got an easy plot that you don't really have to think about, that gently sweeps you along, letting you escape for a while. It's one to take on holiday!

This novel is a sweet romance that is perfect for a summer read. Drayton and Dallas are typical teenagers trying to figure out their path into adulthood. While I thoroughly enjoy their love story, I never quite got how Drayton was the QB Bad Boy during the novel as his character was portrayed as a hopeless romantic.

This was a very cute romance with some cute moments shown between the main character and her love interest.

Even though the “bad boy” trope has been used so many times through out history, I’m still one of those readers that enjoy reading such trashy books because they always tend to bring a hugeeee smile on my face cause they’re just sooo much fun to read and imagine.

My request on NetGalley was approved by the publisher, so thank you Wattpad Books!

The QB Bad Boy and Me by Tay Marley

My Rating: 4 / 5 🌟

Heads up, this review is going to be 100% biased because this book is one of all-time favorite Wattpad books and I'm just so happy it's being published!

When I heard that this book was being published by the Wattpad official publishing company, I was ecstatic! This book was one of those books that I keep finding myself rereading on Wattpad especially my favorite cute scenes between Drayton and Dallas.

Even though I'm a fan of the original Wattpad version, I enjoy this edited and polished version a lot more! Tay decided to change some scenes from the original and made it into scenes that are so much meaningful and I truly love every piece of it.

I also find that Drayton is not as crude as he was in the original version, which did put me off a little bit. As unfiltered as he is, I really enjoyed his character and this particular characteristic didn't show up as much in this published one as it did in the Wattpad one. Nevertheless, I still really enjoyed reading about his character.

Considering I wasn't as critical as I usual am while I was reading this, I didn't really see any major issues about the story. But there were still a few flaws I found while reading this edited version. One of them being the side characters. In my opinion, a few of them were quite forgettable but they didn't really play a huge role in the story, so it wasn't really a big deal. The second thing is that Dallas keeps saying how handsome or gorgeous Drayton is every time she sees him, which I find to be very repetitive and annoying. But other than these two, I really did enjoy reading this story.

I would say this book is definitely not for everyone, especially to those people who are critical readers. This book is a feel good book that you can read or reread anytime you need a mood lifter especially if you're a big fan of the Teen Fiction section on Wattpad.

My love for this book has definitely evolved a lot more as Tay decided to continue writing in this world on Wattpad, and I am so happy that to have a physical copy of one of her books once The QB Bad Boy and Me comes out!

Originally on wattpad. A cute quick read. An YA enemies to lovers.

Drayton is a bad boy quarterback. He’s rich and cocky. The boy all girls want. Pressured to follow in his families footsteps. Captain of the football team and drives a motorcycle.

Dallas wants to attend CalArts for dance but with no dance team she joins and becomes a cheerleader. Lost her parents at a young age and lives with her brother Nathan. She’s independent.

Lots of teenage angst. Fighting feelings for one another. An overall good read that I really enjoyed.

I don’t read much teen romance, but this was a cute fast paced story. Dallas and Dray are a great couple, instant chemistry. Even though there were obstacles in their way they managed to make their relationship work.

Dallas was determined to escape her hometown and was just biding time until graduation. She kept most people at arm's length, and would rather swipe right when she had "an itch" than invest any time or energy into a long term relationship. All that changed, when Drayton came crashing into her life.

I really enjoyed getting to know Drayton and Dallas. They seemed mismatched on paper, but as I delved further into their backstories, I learned that they both experienced profound loss, which had a lasting effect on any relationships they formed. I will tell you right now, learning what happened to Drayton's family broke my heart in half. Dallas' backstory wasn't any less heart wrenching, and I liked that Marely had both characters reflect on those losses and address them head on.

This story wasn't a downer though. It was actually quite fun. I had the opportunity to join Dallas and Drayton for a lot of parties, a dance, football games, motorcycle rides, and quite a few unapproved excursions. Essentially, I did a lot of standard teen things with them, and I loved seeing their tension and attraction blossom into more.

Lots of fun, a great romantic pairing, fabulous backstories, low drama with the conflict coming from outside the characters -- so many things I love, but I felt like there were parts of the story that could have been trimmed. It's a pet peeve of mine, when authors make books longer than they need to be with elements that don't advance the plot. It's not that those parts were terrible, it's just that they were not necessary, and I think maybe that was what kept me from rating this higher.

There are things I would have liked more of. I would have liked the relationship between Dallas and her bother to have been explored more deeply, because I enjoyed their bond. I also would have loved to have spent more than one chapter in Drayton's head. Though he was fairly forthright, at times, I yearned for more of his point of view.

Final impressions go a long way with me, and the ending was super strong. Marely made some interesting choices, AND she gave me an epilogue. Not only did I get my precious epilogue, but I am happy to say, it was a jump-ahead epilogue. That's my catnip right there. Needless to say, I was left in a really good place.

Overall: This book was amusing, fun, sweet, touching, and emotional. I found myself very invested in Dallas and Drayton's futures and will definitely read future books by this author.

I read this book in a few hours. I flew through it. It reminded me of the young adult and new adult books of 2014. HOWEVER. I have a few issues with the book.

One, while it was nice that some of the abusive behavior was called out, others were excused or completely passed over. I’m glad Dray’s anxiety and trauma was addressed, but his actions should have been addressed sooner. And maybe talk about going to a therapist?

Two, Cooper. I’m glad he didn’t try and attack Dallas but I was convinced he was. Also, what kind of responsible guardian let’s a random guy stay over??? There were events like this that made it hard for me to suspend my disbelief in the story. It was very unrealistic and possibly dangerous.

Three, Dallas and Dayton were not very interesting characters. I didn’t really care about them. And I kept forgetting their names while I was reading.

Four, what happened with Gabby felt like it should have happened early and been one of the primary conflicts of the story. It was large, and life changing, but instead of spending time on how it impacted everyone and changed the dynamics between the characters, it was rushed.

One aspect I really enjoyed was how the communication and relationship grew throughout the book. I liked that they were friends first, and how they opened up to each other. The progression and what we saw of their relationship was well paced.

Anyways, this was a fun book, but probably suited for a younger audience than me.
