Cassie’s family has made her feel like a second-class citizen for years. She was a chubby teenager, while her sisters and cousins were and are beautiful Amazons. Thanks to therapy, she has learned that she needs to limit the time spent with them. She is a successful romance author, but her book sales have been declining. Her agent and publisher want her to start writing books with erotic scenes, but she has a limited dating history.

Liam left his music career to takeover the running of the family pub due to his father’s illness. A former girlfriend cheated on him, so he as no interest in a serious relationship. He meets Cassie as a result of a bed with his brother. Much to his surprise, he finds that, in addition to be being incredibly attracted to her, he really likes her.

Can two people with painful pasts and secrets find love?

Liam's and Cassie's story is sweet and sexy. There were times I wanted to reach into the pages and slap them both and shout wake up. There is secrets, humor steam, and romance. This was a fast paced, fun read that I couldn't put down. I loved it! I really hope we get to see a book featuring Finn. Highly recommend this one.

MY THOUGHTS
Bet Me to Stay is quick and sexy read that has the two main characters enter into a physical relationship on the prompting of a bet. Liam, who is sick of his brother falling in and out of love and engagements, bets that his brother can’t stay away from the ladies for a month. The trade off is that Liam must date the first woman to walk through the door.

Enter Cassie.

What sets Bet Me to Stay apart from other romance novels that feature ‘the bet’ trope is that Cassie is looking for inspiration to write better erotic scenes for her novel, and has been told by her friend/agent to find a one night stand to help. Both enter into a physical relationship wanting something from the other, which for me, really evened out the power imbalance and angst you sometimes find with this trope.

I enjoyed Bet Me to Stay, it was a quick read for me and had me smiling throughout. I will admit that some of the adjectives used in this novel were quite entertaining, which had me smiling even more than usual while reading. I won’t go into too much juicy detail but suffice to say the word ginormous was used a few time.

RECOMMENDATIONS
If you’re looking for a quick sexy read, I would really recommend Bet Me to Stay, the novel had excellent pacing, excellent erotic scenes, and I really came to enjoy the two characters, Liam and Cassie. The fact the novel features a sexy Irish accent and a curvaceous female lead, doesn’t hurt either.

Please note: I received a copy of Bet me to Stay from NetGalley.

Author Cassie Meadows is in trouble with her latest book, she can write a good romance but she just doesn’t have the experience to write the racier version that her agent is asking for. But her luck seems to be changing when she goes into the rival pub for a drink and encounters Liam O’Connor who seems to be the perfect person to fill in the gaps in her experience. Shame they both are keeping secrets from each other. I really enjoyed this story it was interesting and hot. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Bet Me to Stay was my first book by author Candace Havens. It was a super quick read. I don't even know that it was 200 pages. So the story went really quick and moved a little too fast/rushed. I think I enjoyed the last few chapters the best out of the whole book.
I would recommend this book to others and I would definitely read other books from this author. However, it wasn't my favorite.

Bet Me to Stay is my first read by Candace Havens and it most definitely is a hot and steamy romance, that focuses primarily on the sex, rather than the love between the main couple. I liked the plot and the concept around the storyline but was hoping to see an emotional bond develop, along with the copious amounts of sizzling sex. That said, it was a quick and easy time filler, however it was also unfortunate that the story seemed to just be getting interesting when it came to an end.

This is the 1st book I have read by this author and I liked the book but didn’t love it. I liked the characters Liam and Cassie. However the book seemed a bit rushed and the book was constantly about sex. They had so much sex all the time that it made the book seem unbelievable. Again this book is okay but not my normal kind of book.

Talk about a heat wave! Deliciously sinful, decadent, and worth the sweet tooth.

Liam is the type of man any woman would crave. Sweet, sexy, supportive, a smile to rival any, and boosts Cassie's confidence, and lets not forget the Irish accent. He becomes the muse for romance writer Cassie after placing a bet with his brother. He is upfront he doesn't want a relationship but more than willing to fuel her fantasies and teach her all he knows...in bed. He didn't expect his heart to get in the way. Still fanning myself over here!

Bet Me to Stay is the first book I have read by Candace Havens and it won't be the last. This book wasn't super deep and the characters definitely jumped into a relationship with no build-up, but that doesn't really matter to me. Sometimes you need a book that is a light, fun, quick read and this book is exactly that. I really liked Cassie and Liam. I even liked Liam's younger brother, Finn.

If you are looking for a light read this summer I recommend Bet Me to Stay. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Cassie O'Brien needs help, her career as a romance novelist is floundering. She just can't seem to get good words on to the page. Liam O'Connor needs to keep his brother from getting engaged again, so he can protect the pub his grandparents opened. When Liam takes a bet with his brother Finn, that he has to seduce the next woman that walks in to the bar, he was not expecting Cassie. Deciding that Liam is better book material than any of her characters, Cassie decides not to shut him down right away and see if he can help her with her writing issue.

This book was a quick-ish read, and didn't waste any time getting Liam and Cassie to what was supposed to be a one night stand. We got to meet a lot of Cassie's family but only Liam's brother, I would have liked to have seen more of his family. I'm not 100 percent sure it really got to the bottom of his big issue, and why he quit music to run the pub, but it almost felt like there was more, or should have been more to it than that. I really liked Cassie and felt like she was relatable. Overall I thought it was a sweet, super hot, quick read. Definitely a good in-between for heavier books.

Before I start, I just want to say that I have voluntarily read and received an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Following a bet with his brother, Liam O'Connor has no choice but to go on a date with the next woman who walks into their pub. Liam happily agrees if it means it stops his brother falling in love with every second girl he sees. When Cassie Meadows walks in, he's conflicted. She looks like someone who owns too many cats, could this even work? But what he discovers will completely change his mind.

When Cassie O'Brien, (pen name Meadows) walks into 'The Boars Head' she has no idea how much her life is about to change. Her publicist and best friend is always at her to change up her writing ,as it's nowhere near sexy enough. It just won't sell. But when unexperienced Cassie runs into sexy Irish Liam at her familys' adversary pub, she hatches up a plan. thanks to Liam she is having the best sex of her life and her creativity Is flowing. But what happens if he finds out her secret? One that could destroy everything..

A fab and easy read, looking forward to see if there is a future for Cassie and Liam.

I for one, hope so.

Fun romance but unfortunately there isn't much of a plot. Cassie is a romance novelist that needs to learn to write hot sex scenes. Due to her lack of experience she isn;t sure how to do that but when she meets Liam in the bar he owns with his brother she's instantly attracted. Unbeknownst to Cassie Liam just made a bet with his brother to date the first girl who walks in the bar so Liam is interested too. Their feelings grow past a one night stand and secrets they both have threaten to keep them apart If you're looking for a short read with lots of sex this is the book for you.

Overall, this novel missed the mark for me. I felt that the plot should have been interesting given the story's summary, but the plot wasn't evenly paced...and there wasn't much of a plot, to be honest. Also, I wasn't keen on the main characters - found them to be very one dimensional and kind of boring.

Well... there’s basically no messing around here. It jumps straight into the sex. Like woah- could we character build a relationship a bit more. I know they kind of went into it as a one night stand, but woah.
Not my favourite by far.

Cute story. Although I'm not sure how much I liked the heroine changing herself, but it was a good story. I laughed out loud in several places and who can resist an Irish hero.

Really could not get into this book. Kind of hard to follow the story along. Nothing in it reached out and grabbed my attention.

I really enjoyed getting to know Cassie and Liam.
Cassie is a romance writer that keeps her job a secret from her family.. However, her sweet romances just aren't doing as well as they used to and she needs to add spice to her novels. Cassie doesn't have much experience in that regards so after her friend suggests she go and get some, she meets Liam.
Liam and his brother, Finn, own an Irish pub that their family opened years ago. Finn, who seems to constantly be in love with a new woman, bets his brother to date the next woman to walk into the bar and he'll stay single for that time. In walks Cassie. Liam is not as smooth as his brother but he can deliver. Oh how he can deliver. *swoon*
Cassie ends up learning a lot about adding some heat to her romances and about herself and her wants. Unfortunately, she has a secret. Will she be able to tell Liam and not have him hate her? Will they have a relationship or is all about their need for each other.
Some parts of this story had me at a 3 star rating but in the end I bumped it to 4. If you want a quick, steamy romance then this is one for you.

Bet me to Stay by Candace Havens is a perfect romance book if you love the concept of romance writer seeks help with writing sex scenes. I was 100% here for it. So be forewarned this book is very sexy, so if that is not your thing, you should pass on this one.

I love that the concept starts out as a bet between brothers for the crotchety one (AKA the one I would be attracted to) has to date the next woman that walks into the bar for a month. And the fun one, Finn, has to swear off women for a month. Love it! Of course, in walks Cassie, a down on her luck romance writer who just so happens to be the daughter of Liam and Finn's competition. I freaking loved this concept so much. I also loved that the two of them kind of come out of their shells with each other. Cassie, in telling this burly man what she wants, and Liam, in the way he starts to actually have feelings for her. Be still my heart!

One thing I was a little confused about was Liam and Finn being Irish. The book is set in Boston, but they kind of talk with Irish slang and are written as having a slight lilt. It's not very clear at first, and I was so confused. Later Liam explains that they grew up in Ireland until his parents took over the bar. That part kind of confused me.

One very minor thing that bothered me was that Liam is written as having tattoos, but I never got to find out what they were! I love tattoos and tattoos on men, so I wanted to know what he had! I'm just gonna assume lots of Celtic stuff at this point.

I loved Cassie a lot, and I think I could relate to her about never really feeling like she got out of her childhood insecurities. Hello, I'm almost thirty and I still have a hard time believing my partner actually likes me. (For the record he's been with me for almost 9 years! And gets really mad at me when I ask "Do you still like me?") So I totally related to her in terms of her insecurities with her body and if a man like Liam would actually be into her. I loved that he gets so mad that she feels this way about herself, because he seems to prefer her curvy figure. Yay for curvy women in romance novels getting what they deserve!

This was my first book by this author, but I definitely want to check out more of her work.

Bet Me to Stay by Candace Havens a five-star read that you would bet the house on. I will be honest in parts this was only a four-star read but overall it deserves five full stars as there was just so much drama. The concept was so much fun, an author writing a risqué scenes in a bar opposite her family’s place and getting inspired not by the hot young man everyone usually falls at but the big growly brother, it should be too predictable but it just kept coming and going in ways you don’t imagine and keeping it fresher and fresher. I can only hope and imagine that the author had some autobiographical moments in the story. If you want fun and hot, then you need this story in your life.

I disliked the start of the book. The heroines romance book love scenes are tanking because she doesn't have enough experience to write a descent sex scene. The agent suggests she get more experience. First. Wtf. You don't need sexual experience to write a sex scene. I'm sorry you don't. You need alot of research and practice writing those scenes.

I hate that she was also pressured into writing sex scenes as well. If she didn't feel comfortable doing so, she's the author. It's ultimately up to her. I love a good romance book with alot of sex scenes but that doesn't mean every romance book has to have them. There are a variety of readers that like different sex levels in their books.

The book didn't get any better from here. I liked the premise of the book but not the execution. Some of the scenes were very funny but most weren't even though I think it was the authors intention to make it so. As such I do not recommend the book.
