Fun and quirky! What starts out as a bet for Liam and Cassie soon turns into something real and lasting. Of course everything is not smooth sailing but what is real love without a little bruising. This is a quick and often funny read about a girl who is still testing her boundaries. When she finds out how strong and powerful she can be she also discovers true love and a family who adores her. |
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book. It was definitely a quirky read, with the main characters being extremely easy to like. In the beginning, a lot of the story was about the two characters being together physically. As it progressed, we did get to know them a bit better, however a few more scenes with them getting more acquainted would have been nice too. I enjoyed the ending and the development with the family, that was lovely. 3.5 stars |
I really liked this story. It had humour, sexy and sweet all rolled into a quick paced romance. The ending was sweet, however the family aspect of the resolution seemed a little rushed and a little off from what we had seen earlier. Overall, a good story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review. |

This was a great story. I loved Liam and Cassie. I enjoyed the writing and can't wait to read more! |
After a bet with his brother, Liam has to date the next single woman in walk in the door of his pub. And the woman who walks in looks like a cat lady. Cassie Meadows/O’Brien is a sweet romance author who has to write sexy romance, something she hasn’t been successful with so far and needs some inspiration fast. And looks the pub owner Liam is just what she needs to find her muse. I was hooked from the first page and could read fast enough. It was a light, fun and super hot read with some amazing characters. Liam is the perfect blend of sweet, sexy and supportive Hero and Cassie as a little awkward, funny and in need of loving heroine. This is my first book by the author, And I would love to read more. |
I received a copy of BET ME TO STAY on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author. FIVE stars and here’s why: The story drew me in from the get-go. Total book hangover – read it in one night! This book may be marketed under Erotic Romance, but it definitely has a Contemporary Romance/Rom-Com vibe and that’s why I really enjoyed reading it. The pacing was excellent, the characters well developed, and I definitely wanted to know what happened to Liam and Cassie. If you like sexy guys who fall for savvy women, and a story sprinkled with a lot of humor and hotness between the pages, then this book is for you! Highly recommend. |
4-Steamy-Stars This book was STEAMY and fun to read. I loved the whole romance built on a betting concept, I mean one of my favourite movies is She's All That - so I was super excited to start this book after reading the blurb. Bet Me To Stay was a fun quick read, with low-angst and was perfect for my beach day reading binge. I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion while reading. The characters were relatable and nothing about this story seemed far-fetched and unbelievable. If you like dirty-talking Irish men - READ THIS BOOK. |
This book was HOT. I really enjoyed the whole story line. Liam and Cassie are just precious and adorable. This book is sweet, sexy, romantic, and funny all at once. Cassie is such a strong female lead and I love how Liam helped her see what a confident woman she could be! |
3.5 stars This was my first Candace Havens read and it was definitely a little more on the spicy side than I usually pick. However, there is a lot about being yourself, chasing your dreams, and finding the one who truly supports you. You get to know both Liam and Cassie well and they are both easy to like and connect with. The author did a really nice job with the pub setting and I often found myself craving the food that Liam would prepare. I also really liked getting a good amount of background about Cassie's job as a writer. I hope there are more books to come set in this world! |

This was the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I found it to be a very sweet but hot read. I absolutely loved Liam and Cassie. They made me laugh with all that banter that went on between the two of them. Liam owns a pub and Cassie is a writer. Although both of them started off the relationship between them with ulterior motives things happen and feelings become involved. What happens when their secrets come out? Pick up this book and find out because it will be a wild ride. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review. |

Cassie’s family has made her feel like a second-class citizen for years. She was a chubby teenager, while her sisters and cousins were and are beautiful Amazons. Thanks to therapy, she has learned that she needs to limit the time spent with them. She is a successful romance author, but her book sales have been declining. Her agent and publisher want her to start writing books with erotic scenes, but she has a limited dating history. Liam left his music career to takeover the running of the family pub due to his father’s illness. A former girlfriend cheated on him, so he as no interest in a serious relationship. He meets Cassie as a result of a bed with his brother. Much to his surprise, he finds that, in addition to be being incredibly attracted to her, he really likes her. Can two people with painful pasts and secrets find love? |
ARC received from NetGalley. All opinions are my own. I wanted to like this more than I did. The characters and story are there - it has great potential! Unfortunately, it was just too rushed and too short. There was so much in the storyline that could’ve been built/elaborated on to make a longer book. i.e., Cassie’s family, Liam’s music history and the betrayal he felt by his ex ... Instead, this book was really nothing more than a quickie romance with lots of (and for the most part) dull sexy stuff. It’s too bad since I wanted to feel more connected to the characters, particularly Cassie and the relationship she has with her family. That said, I still went with 3 stars because the ending - both the last chapter and epilogue - are pretty damn adorable. |
Liam's and Cassie's story is sweet and sexy. There were times I wanted to reach into the pages and slap them both and shout wake up. There is secrets, humor steam, and romance. This was a fast paced, fun read that I couldn't put down. I loved it! I really hope we get to see a book featuring Finn. Highly recommend this one. |
MY THOUGHTS Bet Me to Stay is quick and sexy read that has the two main characters enter into a physical relationship on the prompting of a bet. Liam, who is sick of his brother falling in and out of love and engagements, bets that his brother can’t stay away from the ladies for a month. The trade off is that Liam must date the first woman to walk through the door. Enter Cassie. What sets Bet Me to Stay apart from other romance novels that feature ‘the bet’ trope is that Cassie is looking for inspiration to write better erotic scenes for her novel, and has been told by her friend/agent to find a one night stand to help. Both enter into a physical relationship wanting something from the other, which for me, really evened out the power imbalance and angst you sometimes find with this trope. I enjoyed Bet Me to Stay, it was a quick read for me and had me smiling throughout. I will admit that some of the adjectives used in this novel were quite entertaining, which had me smiling even more than usual while reading. I won’t go into too much juicy detail but suffice to say the word ginormous was used a few time. RECOMMENDATIONS If you’re looking for a quick sexy read, I would really recommend Bet Me to Stay, the novel had excellent pacing, excellent erotic scenes, and I really came to enjoy the two characters, Liam and Cassie. The fact the novel features a sexy Irish accent and a curvaceous female lead, doesn’t hurt either. Please note: I received a copy of Bet me to Stay from NetGalley. |
Author Cassie Meadows is in trouble with her latest book, she can write a good romance but she just doesn’t have the experience to write the racier version that her agent is asking for. But her luck seems to be changing when she goes into the rival pub for a drink and encounters Liam O’Connor who seems to be the perfect person to fill in the gaps in her experience. Shame they both are keeping secrets from each other. I really enjoyed this story it was interesting and hot. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Quick sexy read. Loved the banter and chemistry between Liam and Cassie. Found it had to connect with Cassie but Liam hooked me from the start. Would love to read more about Finn. |
Bet Me to Stay was my first book by author Candace Havens. It was a super quick read. I don't even know that it was 200 pages. So the story went really quick and moved a little too fast/rushed. I think I enjoyed the last few chapters the best out of the whole book. I would recommend this book to others and I would definitely read other books from this author. However, it wasn't my favorite. |

This book was ok. I thought the writing was a bit stilted and the big secret was anticlimactic for me. Overall, it was fun and fast read, but at the same time, I didn't like the instalove factor in this novel. If it was longer, maybe there could have been some more relationship development between the hero and heroine. |
Bet Me to Stay is my first read by Candace Havens and it most definitely is a hot and steamy romance, that focuses primarily on the sex, rather than the love between the main couple. I liked the plot and the concept around the storyline but was hoping to see an emotional bond develop, along with the copious amounts of sizzling sex. That said, it was a quick and easy time filler, however it was also unfortunate that the story seemed to just be getting interesting when it came to an end. |
This is the 1st book I have read by this author and I liked the book but didn’t love it. I liked the characters Liam and Cassie. However the book seemed a bit rushed and the book was constantly about sex. They had so much sex all the time that it made the book seem unbelievable. Again this book is okay but not my normal kind of book. I received an advanced copy for an honest review. |
