Sarah Morgan is one of my favorite writers. She has this ability to weave together beautiful stories, often focused on family and strong women characters. I read her book The Christmas Sisters last Christmas and knew this was going to be at the top of my pile for this Christmas. And let me tell you this one did not disappoint!!

A Wedding in December centers around the White family gathering in Colorado for Rosie's wedding, the youngest daughter. But the story is so much more than that. With alternating perspectives for each chapter, this book follows the stories of Rosie, her older sister Katie, and her parents Maggie and Nick. Each one of these members of the White family has things they have been struggling with and things they have been keeping one from one another.

A Wedding in December is the perfect combination of Christmas, a family drama, and romance. I cried multiple times reading and will definitely be recommending this to everyone! Sarah Morgan has this ability to weave together stories. I didn't ever find myself skipping over a character's section. Each woman and their story was equally strong, which is not always the case in books following multiple viewpoints. Add this one to your Christmas TBR!

This is my first book by Sarah Morgan told using three women's POV - Maggie, Katie and Rosie. I really enjoyed Maggie's story of second chances with her husband. I thought this was a sweet romance although it took a while for me to get into the read.
The descriptions of the landscape and snow scenes made me feel as if I were actually there. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Thank you, #Netgalley for this ARC.

I love Sarah Morgan's books as the writing is effortless and makes me feel all the emotions intended. This book too had the strength of its words and the power to make the world of the characters real. She is a brilliant author whose books warm my heart every single time.

3 women, strong and vulnerable with a few knocks in life soon revealed how they could grip life with both hands and start living. Mom Maggie hated her work and was separated from her husband, though they were pretending in this wedding. Younger daughter Rosie was getting married after a whirlwind romance, with doubts if they knew each other well. Elder daughter Katie had gone through something traumatic and wanted to protect her sister and stop the marriage. All the three were in Aspen, Colorado for a Wedding in Christmas.

I loved everything in the book. The relationships were beautifully written. The broken bonds, the lost and separated ones were well detailed. The words evoked my emotions, and everything seemed so relatable. The characters came flying out of the pages, taking me into their world and showing me their lives honestly.

The complexities of relationships pulled me in with the layers they added to the story and to the characters. The story evoked those heartwarming emotions that made the spirit of Christmas come alive. It had everything from romance to drama to love. Family was the central theme, and that made this book completely captivating.

I loved it!!

I have long been a fan of Sarah Morgan, to the point that I would read the back of a cereal box if she wrote the text, so it's no big surprise that once again, I fell in love with this author's voice and loved her wonderfully crafted characters even more. If you're looking for a heart-warming, make-me-feel-fuzzy-and-warm type of story this holiday season, put A Wedding in December on your must-read list!

Three beautiful love stories revolving around the marriage of Maggie's youngest daughter, Rosie, who decides to marry in less than a month to a young man she knows little about, causing great family confusion.

Maggie, Rosie and Katie are living different times in life. Between crises and doubts, they will need to make decisions that can change the course of their lives.
The men are fantastic, I just hoped for a better dialogue in solving Rosie's drama.

Narrated in the third person and with each chapter of one of the women, Sarah Morgah created a great Christmas story. Talking about second chances, resilience and love.

"A Wedding in December" centers on a wedding, obvious from the title. However, the family issues that come to a head due to the wedding form the main feature of the story. The novel alternates viewpoints among the three women involved in the tale: sisters Katie (ER doctor), Rosie (the bride), and Maggie (mom). Uncertainties and buried indecision rise to the surface as the family gathers for the Christmas wedding in beautiful Aspen, Colorado.

Lest readers think this is all a happy, feel-good holiday story: be warned that the book deals with serious issues of career paths, uncertainty about the future, disintegrating marriages, and family dynamics. Christmas in breath-taking wintry scenes serves as a backdrop to this family story. Readers are warned that the book contains explicit sexual scenes.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Rosie is getting married a Christmas after a whirlwind courtship with personal trainer Dan. She is in the states for graduate school. Her sister Kate, an ER doctor in London, is sure this is another one of Rosie's impulsive decisions and she is needed to put a stop to it. Maggie, Rosies' mother is harboring her own secret but is determined to pretend all is well for her daughter's wedding. Full of hilarity, fun and plenty of misunderstandings that get worked out in the end. A wonderful seasonal read!

Love a good wedding caper. This one has sweet Rosie on her last nerve, as her sister tries to save Rosie from imaginary threats, and their parents try to scam their children but end up scamming only themselves! I loved the family hijinks and the multi threaded romance. Morgan wove together love stories and family relationships initially as foils to each other - but ultimately as what a marriage should be - the uniting of two into one.

As always, a book filled with family, love and coming of age. The Colorado setting is every Christmas lover's dream come true plus a wedding plus Sarah Morgan's characters who come to life on the page.

Rosie is the younger sister by quite a few years and has always been the one that the family has taken care of as she was born with asthma and it has impacted her life from the beginning. Her older sister Katie only knows how to take care of others and is horrible about asking for help herself and with a recent incident at work she is not doing a good job of picking herself up and moving forward. Their parents Maggie and Nick have been separated, but no one knows and they haven't been able to be honest with each other or anyone else about the status of their relationship. Rosie gets engaged at Thanksgiving and wants a Christmas Eve wedding in Colorado, so the family goes to support her, but all of their drama follows.

I absolutely love a book that is told through multiple perspectives as I feel as though you get a complete story, with chapters told from Maggie, Katie and Rosie's perspectives, it was nice to see the story from all sides. The chapters were easily noted and it was obvious who was who, so there was no confusion, even from the beginning.

This story was a great read for the season as it takes place in the mountains of Colorado with snow storms and a frigid temperature. With decorations in the cabins and activities like skiing, sledding and snow mobiling, this book was just right to curl up in my cold weather and enjoy.

3.5 *

You get three romances for the price of one in this latest offering from Sarah Morgan. Rosie is getting married…to a man she’s only known for about 12 weeks. Her mother Maggie, home in England, is upset to learn that the wedding will be in Colorado at Dan’s family lodge and that his mother Catherine is handing all of the arrangements, including dress shopping. When older sister Maggie, a workaholic ER doctor, hears that her impulsive baby sister (who she’s mothered her entire life thanks to Rosie’s asthma) is getting married to someone she’s never even met, she makes it her mission to stop the wedding. Unbeknownst to both girls, their parents have separated and are heading for divorce, and they’re going to pretend they’re still a perfect, loving couple until after the ceremony. As they all converge on the resort in Aspen, sparks start to fly…both angry and passionate ones! Thanks to Katie’s warnings, Rosie’s starting to doubt her relationship, Katie is sparring with Dan’s best friend Jordan, and Maggie and Nick are discovering that the passion they used to share may just be dormant, not dead. Will Katie succeed or will distracting Jordan teach her a thing or two about love?

There is much to be frustrated about in this story: Katie’s smothering interference, Rosie’s disregard for her mother’s feelings by allowing Catherine to take over, and the pacing of Katie and Jordan’s relationship. The highlight is the romance between the middle-aged parents. It’s so refreshing to feature a mature relationship imbued with passion, and Morgan gets to the heart of what it takes to save a marriage. Fans of Morgan and light-hearted romance will enjoy this one.

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from HQN through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Rosie is getting married. She is a fun loving, spontaneous woman who has found the man of her dreams and is getting married in a few weeks! Rosie loves to jump head long into things and then change her mind, so is this just another quick decision that she will later regret?
Katie is shocked to hear her sister is getting married! Someone needs to stop this insanity and Katie thinks she is just the person to do it. She is the logical, well planned, straight thinking doctor of the family, so she must travel across the pond to Colorado and set her sister straight.
Maggie and Nick are overwhelmed when they hear the news that their daughter Rosie is getting married. Can they keep their secret while they travel across the world pretending to be the happy couple they once were? Now surely can’t be the right time to tell their daughters that they having been living apart for the last few months and are headed for a divorce.
This story is so beautifully written by Sarah Morgan. It’s a story of family, loss, love and reconciliation. The supporting characters are brilliantly blended into the lives of the main characters. It felt like I got three separate yet blended real stories all in one. A definite must read by this amazing author. Thank you so much to Harlequin, Sarah Morgan and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous!

Special thanks to Sarah Morgan & Harlequin for providing our copy in exchange for an honest & fair review.

A Wedding in December by Sarah Morgan is a story centered around family, secrets, love, loss & new beginnings. This is just what I was hoping for. Of course, Sarah Morgan delivers the goods!

Last year, I read & loved The Christmas Sisters so much I became a Sarah Morgan Fangirl. She’s able to write these relatable, memorable & realistic female characters that I love.

A Bit of Steam & a Lot of Heart

While on the lower side with steam, this romance is one I can & likely will reread during winter. Yes, after reading the synopsis you likely know where the story will end up. For me, the beauty is in how Sarah Morgan gets us there. I’m along for the ride and I love it.

THE VERDICT

I am Really Into This book! A Wedding in December by Sarah Morgan is out now and my beloved Christmas Sisters is out in mass market. I am always ready for more Sarah Morgan. If you love unlikely friendships & second chances, check out One Summer in Paris.

4 star

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Rosie’s story. What happens when you invite everyone to your wedding and then have second thoughts about the marriage? Can you figure it out or will you be married before you decided as everything is moving so fast? Her parents have secrets she has secrets and people are trying to stop the wedding. Will it still go on? What happens when all the secrets come out who will be more surprised? Can they figure everything out and will everyone be happy? Or will a lot of people be hurt at the secrets?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

In the snowy perfection of Aspen, the White family gathers for youngest daughter Rosie’s whirlwind Christmas wedding.
The bride's sister is certain that her young sibling is making a mistake and is out to stop the wedding.
The bride's parents have been separated secretly for months and have successfully kept it from both daughters, but will they be able to continue their ruse?
This is a comical at times and heartwarming holiday romance that feels like a holiday made for TV movies. It is my first read by this author but if they are all this good I will be reading more.
I gave this book 4.4 of 5.0 stars for characterization and story line.
I received a complimentary ARC copy to read. I voluntarily left a review of this book.

Rosie White is getting married over Christmas. She contacts her sister and her parents to share the good news, but it is not received in the way she intended. First, the wedding is in Aspen and the rest of the family lived in the UK. Second, Nick and Maggie are separated and have not yet told their girls and third, Katie has plans to stop the wedding.

The story is told from the POVs of the three women, Maggie, Katie and Rosie. Katie is quite cynical about marriage and thinks that Rosie is either being pressured into the wedding or is just not ready or realistic. She is going to set her straight. She also has secrets about things happening in her life and job that she is not sharing with anyone. Maggie is upset that she is being left out of all the wedding plans. Not only that, but because of the impending divorce of her and Nick, this was going to be the last Christmas at their childhood home before selling it. She is also afraid to fly, so she has three strikes before even getting on the plane. Rosie is in love. She is sure that her marriage will last, after all just look at how well her parent's marriage is working out and they had a whirlwind courtship. But, maybe it is too quick, maybe they should wait a bit longer. Oh, so many things can go wrong here.

I enjoyed this story a lot. There are three women who were all keeping secrets from others. Take them out of their normal environment, throw them together with snow, music, handsome men and stars and things are bound to change. There is humour, angst, soul searching, lies and finally honesty to bring these women to make some serious decisions. The male interests are charming, handsome, smart and lovable, that does not mean they are perfect, they make mistakes too. This was a contemporary romance that was relatable and realistic. I enjoyed this well-written romance, as well as all the characters, even Dan's mom, who seemed pushy at the beginning. I recommend this one to those who enjoy a good romance, especially one that happens at Christmas time.
