This is one of the funniest stories I have ever read! Besides humor, the story was heartwarming. Even though it had its ups and downs, I enjoyed every minute of it. Often, I felt Katie was overbearing, but meeting Jordan, the best man in her sister’s wedding, softened her. Rosie was flighty and let her sister's doubts sniggle their way into her mind bringing doubts about her upcoming wedding. Then add to the drama of the sisters, their parents, Maggie and Nick, brought their own spectacle to this comical, romantic, Christmas tale.
The characters were well-drawn, and the storyline was fascinating. There were a lot of loose ends, but the author did a wonderful job tying the story together, creating a book worth reading. I recommend A WEDDING IN DECEMBER to anyone who loves reading about sisters, enjoys humor and a Christmas romance.

Maggie and Nick are separated pending a divorce and yet haven't informed their daughters about their pending divorce. Then, Rose their youngest and most impulsive daughter drops a bombshell that she's engaged and plans to marry at Christmas in Colorado in the USA.
Katie their other doctor is an ER physician experiencing severe burn out but she's been the older sister and rescued her sister from numerous scrapes views this as one more scrape that she needs to rescue the impulsive Rosie from even if she has to travel to the US to do.
The family's arrival in Colorado starts off on a great note when a hung over Maggie becomes overly amorous with her estranged husband in the presence of her daughter and Rosie's fiancée. Next comes the chemistry between Katie and the best man on their drive home from the airport.
This is a family drama in its best sense as the three couples work their way through the relationship maze. Not only is it a white Christmas in Colorado but it's also a happily ever after season.

I adored this book! It reminded me of a book Sophie Kinsella/Jane Green would write. I love to read any books about Christmas and this definitely put me in the mood! I was rooting for Maggie & Nick from page 1 and I loved how the author went back and forth throughout the novel to follow their story. Some of the book was a bit predictable- as most Christmas stories to me are but I couldn't put it down and I am hoping this turns into a Hallmark movie, I would love to see if the tree house rooms look like I picture it. :)

Contemporary Romance

Aspen, Colorado – Present Day

As A WEDDING IN DECEMBER opens, it’s November in England and Maggie White is thinking about Christmas. She hasn’t seen her oldest daughter, Katie, in months, and the youngest, Rosie, is attending college at Harvard in the United States. Neither of the girls is aware that Maggie and their father, Nick, separated months ago and are planning to divorce. Christmas will be the time to tell them. Then, she gets an unexpected call from Rosie. She’s getting married and the wedding will be at Christmas—in Vail, Colorado. Maggie’s life (and plans) have suddenly changed. Maggie talks to Nick and they agree to keep their divorce news under wraps and pretend to still be in love. They can’t spoil their daughter’s happiness.

Katie White is a doctor at a London hospital and she’s dealing with PTSD after a patient’s father brutally attacked her in an emotional reaction. She hasn’t shared the attack—or her emotional condition—with her family. Now she is being forced by her doctor to take time off work to deal with her issues. Add in that she thinks Rosie is making a mistake in marrying a guy she barely knows; Katie plans to make sure the wedding doesn’t happen.

Rosie is all aglow in wedding plans and enjoying love and life. She wants her family to feel like she does, but the first glimpse of her parents after they get off the plane is seeing her mother drunk and acting overly lovey-dovey with her father. What is going on? Then there is Katie…she is grilling Rosie’s fiancé, Dan, as well as the best man, Jordan. Rosie loves her sister, but she has to realize that Dan is the man she loves. However, as Katie pressures Rosie over marrying too quickly, doubts begin to set in…

A WEDDING IN DECEMBER is about three women as they reflect about life, love, and their futures. Maggie’s life revolved around raising her children, but once Rosie left the nest, the realization that there were no longer any sparks between her and Nick led them to separate. Dan’s mother owns the luxurious resort everyone is staying at and arranges for some “activities” for Maggie and Nick, unaware they’re separated. Suddenly, they find themselves attracted to each other all over again. Is it enough for them to save their marriage?

Katie clashes with Jordan because he is suspicious of her constant grilling and finding fault with Dan. After she accidentally learns the truth about her parents’ marital woes, a stunned Katie runs into the outdoors—and gets lost. Jordan finds her and they shelter for the night at his cabin after a sudden snowstorm hits. As Katie warms up, so does the attraction she’s now feeling for the best man.

Once I started reading A WEDDING IN DECEMBER, I found myself hooked and eagerly wanting to find out what happened next. Maggie, Rosie, and Katie are endearing characters that will make you want to root for them. It’s inevitable that secrets come out, but it’s part of the healing process. After thoroughly enjoying A WEDDING IN DECEMBER I had to give it one of Romance Reviews Today’s Perfect 10’s. Set around the Christmas holiday, it will make you cry, make you laugh, and it’s an unforgettable read. Don’t miss A WEDDING IN DECEMBER.

Kick back, relax, and enjoy this charming romance! A Wedding in December delivered not one, not two, but three sweet couples to fall in love with.

The story alternated between three points of view- Rosie, Maggie, and Katie. I enjoyed getting to know each character and seeing how they changed and grew-both individually and within their relationships- from the beginning to the end. If I had to pick a favourite pairing, it was Katie and Jordan. I adored the push and pull, the bantering, and the opposites attract feel they gave off.

Aside from the romantic storylines, the book also focused a lot on familial relationships, which was lovely. I had no trouble staying connected and engaged.

A Wedding in December was overall a delightful, heart-warming read. It's an excellent selection for those searching for a feel-good story. Add it to you list of festive books to enjoy this season!

This book kind of drove me crazy with all the secrets everyone was keeping from each other and what happened when they started being revealed. Maggie is the mother of Rosie and Katie, she and their father Nick are keeping it a secret that they have been discussing getting a divorce and have been separated for several months. Maggie is also keeping a secret from all her family. Katie has been avoiding her family and trying not to come apart because of a traumatic event that happened to her at the hospital where she works, plus she is considering not being a doctor. Rosie has been sitting on her feelings for a long time because she does not like confrontations. It takes Rosie getting married in Colorado at Christmas in less than a month's time to shake up her family enough to start them on a path to healing, but in the process Rosie might lose the man of her dreams. I loved the ending of this book as it was full of sage advice.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great romance novel from Sarah Morgan! Having read her From Manhattan With Love series and a couple of standalones, I expected romance, humor, and character building. I was not disappointed! Sarah Morgan has crafted building hope from trauma in her characters. She also shows that bumps will happen in life but turning to those you love in those hard times help you get through.

This is not a simple sappy Christmas romance. There is grit, trauma, misunderstanding, but there is also hope, love, and strength. Rosie has moved an ocean away from her loved ones leaving her sometimes overprotective family behind. She has found how to overcome her lifelong battle with asthma as well as how to stand on her own two feet for once. She has also found love. With her soon to be mother-in-law at the helm, she finds herself engaged with a Christmas wedding! Her family has to scramble to get to America and get through the blizzard to get to the wedding but what could possibly go wrong?

Everything. Of course.

I highly recommend this romance to those getting ready and excited for the holiday season! It has a beautifully depicted backdrop of snowy mountains and treehouses at a resort I would absolutely love to go to for a vacation. I would also recommend this novel for adults as there is mild foul language and sexually explicit material.

This is a standalone novel but I would love if further novels developed from this novel. I would also recommend her other standalones as well as her From Manhattan with Love series!

I love Sarah Morgan's Christmas books. I love the families she creates and the challenges they have to overcome. And this one swept me away just like the others. This one follows a mother and her two daughters as they deal with the changes in their lives and where to go from here. They come together during the holiday season for one of their weddings and chaos and romance and love ensue. It was equal parts fun and emotional. If you like books about families, about women in different stages of their lives, about relationships both old and new, and the holiday season filled with snow and magic, definitely check this one out. Also, I think I could have done with an entire book focusing on Katie and Jordan.

Wow. Wow. Wow. A WEDDING IN DECEMBER exceeded all of my expectations! I thought it would focus solely on a Christmas wedding and some cute holiday hijinks would ensue as one sister tries to stop the other from impulsively walking down the aisle, but there was so much substance to this story.

The story alternates among Maggie and her two daughters, Katie and Rosie. Rosie has just suddenly announced she is planning to get married during Christmas. Katie doesn’t think it’s a good idea, and Maggie is upset that they won’t have one last Christmas together as a family before she and Nick (Katie and Rosie’s father) divorce. Maggie is also upset that Rosie’s future mother-in-law (Catherine) has single-handedly planned the wedding thanks to her experience as a prominent wedding planner. After secretly stalking Catherine’s curated social media pages, Maggie feels very intimidated, and finally admits to her family she hates her job.

I found it so refreshing to read about someone who hates her job! Usually, everyone in real life and fiction always has the “best job ever” so it’s nice to read about a character who feels stuck in a position she’s not happy with but continues doing because it’s just easier that way. And if that’s not enough… it turns out, Katie, a busy doctor, also hates her job and is even considering leaving the medical profession altogether! This is the first book I’ve ever read that discusses anyone with a professional degree wanting to make a career change. The author realistically portrays Katie’s angst about following a different career path after she’s put so much time and money into becoming a doctor, and there’s also a discussion about how she would be able to do it (e.g., she paid off her student loans, has some savings, her parents can help financially, etc.)

While this is the perfect holiday read, I hope people will continue reading this book year round because there are so many things about this story that will resonate with them. While I related most to Maggie and Katie, I saw a little bit of myself in Rosie, too (especially when I was her age.) There’s also a great message about not always putting your children ahead of your spouse. I don’t have children, but the message still resonated with me as the caregiver of an elderly parent. And Catherine was a fabulous character, too! I love that she was a self-made entrepreneur. I hope there is a sequel about her!

Rosie the baby of the family and is getting married and as soon as possible so her family must rush over. Little does she know that her parents are on the brink of divorce and her sister, Katie, has some issues goes on as well. Katie is worried that her sister is being impulsive again and this whole wedding is a mistake and will do everything in her power to stop it from happening. There is secrets and problems all around and it could ruin things so while emotions are running high everyone is going to try to power through Rosie's wedding.

Normally I have an issue with more then 2 perspectives with books but because this book was by Sarah Morgan and I've been really enjoying her books lately that I've decided to power though to try to separate the characters as much as I can but then again the author made it easy. I really enjoyed this book and getting to know the characters. I kept wondering when would everything blow up in their faces because everyone seemed to be hiding something. Rosie having a wedding is stressful enough and while everyone was trying to be well intention it ended up just a drama filled mess. This book I will defiantly say it gave me the holiday feels and I think it'll get you readers in the holiday spirit. Would defiantly recommend you readers check it out, put it on your tbr list because your not going to want to miss this.

This is my second book that I have read by Sarah Morgan and I have thoroughly enjoyed each of them and plan to read more by this talented author. I love the quirky characters within this story. The mother was so unique and the relationship between the mother and father was so entertaining. I liked the way Ms. Morgan had all of the different relationships between each of the family members. No two members felt the same about the others. It was a very typical family, with each of them having issues and unknown feelings. I liked the way it all came together in the end and I encourage people to read it if they are looking for an entertaining holiday read!

Sarah Morgan's voice is always magical as she weaves tales of love, family and ever afters ... but give her a wedding and a winter wonderland to work with and she's pure delight! Her latest brings to life a family filled with uncertainty, change and the unknown as a couple on the verge of divorce comes together for their youngest daughters wedding amid family revelations, rediscovery and unknowns.

The characters are mesmerizing from the start. Maggie and Nick have been married for decades but secretly living apart from each other for half a year without informing their daughters. Now their youngest has sprung a sudden wedding on them and they decide they have to get through the festivities before they can break their daughter's hearts with their news. Oldest daughter Katie is a self-confident doctor who has everyone believing she's in charge of her life when she's secretly falling apart and doubting every aspect she thought she knew in life after an encounter no one knows anything about. Youngest daughter Rosie is madly in love and has stars in her eyes to marry the man of her dreams, but she's always been non-committal and impetuous ... is this relationship truly developed enough to last or is she still just flitting wholeheartedly into her present joy until the next big thing comes along? Her sister's doubts have her starting to doubt herself!

I highly recommend this book to anyone enjoying a beautifully written rendition of the ups and downs of family, love and life. The characters are a joy to read, the scene is painted beautifully as they roam the gorgeous snow covered hills just during the Christmas season and the emotional pull of each story touches a readers heart.

A Wedding in December is a great story. From the beginning I felt as if I were on site with the characters watching the story unfold from a distance. Love romance - this story has it. Love humor - this story has it. Love suspense - there is a bit of that also in this story. Love drama - you can also find that in this story. Sarah Morgan is a great author and I look forward to more new titles authored by her.

Rosie White is getting married and wants the family to gather in Aspen for the event. Sister Kate is dreading the wedding, she's not happy with her job or life. Mother and Dad, Maggie and Nick haven't told the girls they are separated and getting divorced. A multi story line book with happy endings for all. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Such a beautiful, fun book full of Christmas spirit. Definitely a Christmas novel to re read year after year. This story has many layers. It’s about renewed love and new love. I love this women’s fiction book with that magical holiday touch.

I expected A Wedding in December to be a charming and fluffy romance with a misunderstanding between the happy couple that would lead to a beautiful, tearful reunion and wedding. I should have known better because while I definitely would say Sarah Morgan writes books with charm, they are so much more than merely fluffy.
While our bride, Rosie, springs this engagement and Christmas wedding onto her parents and older sister, very unexpectedly, it not the only drake going on in the White family. Older sister Katie is dealing with fallout from her job as an ER (or emergency department, as the say in the U.K.) doctor. And their mother, Maggie has a very empty nest on her hands.
Told from each woman’s point of view, but not in 1st person dialogue, we see how each of them has been keeping secrets, and the inevitable fallout those secrets cause when revealed. Maggie’s husband Nick, Dan, Rosie’s fiance and his mom and best friend, Catherine and Jordan, respectively, round out our little cast of interesting, likable characters.
In my mind, this is family story, first and foremost, set at Christmas with an overriding theme of not only romance but forgiveness, love and new beginnings. Very easy to read, hard to put down and totally wonderful, A Wedding in December should be added to everyone’s reading list!

I loved this book by Sarah Morgan. It is the perfect holiday book. It tells the story of a family struggling with different things and trying to find love.
Maggie is the mother of two grown daughters and struggling with feeling like her marriage is not enough. She and her husband have separated, although they haven't told the girls. Will an unexpected trip to Colorado be enough to help them figure things out?
Katie is a successful Emergency Department doctor, but lately she is questioning her profession. She feels like she can't tell her family since they are so proud of her. Will a trip to the mountains of Colorado help her find her way?
Rosie knows that her family has always looked after her. Having severe asthma means she has made them worry a time or two. She is now an adult working on her PhD and has found the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Her family is joining her in Colorado for the wedding. Sure it is a quick wedding, but she loves him and it will all work out, right?
These three women need to get out of their comfort zones in order to find what they are looking for. Love awaits them all, but they have to be willing to take the risk and to be vulnerable. They also must trust in the family bonds that connect them.

This is an enjoyable read and funny and different Christmas story. The ending was very neatly tied up, though somewhat contrived. It will be a light and amusing story for the holidays.

Title: A Wedding in December
Author: Sarah Morgan
Genre: Romance
Rating: 4 out of 5

Maggie White is looking forward to a family Christmas at home. Decorating, cooking—it’s her favorite time of year. Of course, this year she’ll have to tell her daughters she and their dad are getting divorced. Until a middle-of-the-night phone call reveals her younger daughter, Rosie, is getting married. Now the family is headed to Aspen for the ceremony, and Maggie and Nick agree to pretend to still be in love, for the sake of their daughter’s wedding. Will the pretense turn to reality?

Katie, Rosie’s older sister, just knows Rosie is making a mistake. Her sister is impulsive and changes her mind all the time, so how can she know this guy’s “the one” when she’s only known him a few months? Katie’s determined to stop her sister from making a huge mistake—getting married—but the best man, Jordan, keeps getting in her way. And her thoughts.

Rosie is getting married. She knows she loves her fiancé, but is she really sure? With her sister interfering and her parents acting embarrassingly in love, Rosie’s just not sure anymore, but she knows she has to figure out what her heart wants.

I loved the White family, and that this was really three romances in one. I fall somewhere between Rosie and Katie, so I could relate to both of them. The switches in viewpoint were seamless, and every character’s journey was absorbing. And excellent read!

Sarah Morgan is a bestselling author. A Wedding in December is her newest novel.
