This book came from Wattpad! Glorified fan fic, turned fiction. Love it. It's quick and easy, horribly entertaining. If you like Jennifer L Armentrout's Wicked trilogy, you'll love this.

You ever read a book and you really want to like it but some things are just so far fetched it makes you have a hard time with the entire story? That was this book. I found the premise of the story fun and not something I have read before so that was exciting. What I didn't find so fun was the fact that a multi-century-year-old guy would still ask a girl to a high school dance. It was two worlds colliding and not meshing in my brain. I don't see how two guys driving Lamborghinis could fit into a high school in a small town. And how a 17-year-old girl could basically not check in with her dad for several days and not have any repercussions for that. I really enjoyed the inclusion of several mythical characters and their supporting roles in the story. The action was good and I did enjoy all of the characters no matter how unbelievable their actions might have been. All in all I would say this earned a solid 3 to 3 1/2 stars for me. Thank you, NetGalley for the eARC copy.

Unfortunately this book was a DNF for me. I only made it about 40% through and I had to put it down. I wanted to like this book and the concept was interesting but it felt like too much of a soap opera for me. It drove me nuts that even in serious situations Lila was making jokes and her reactions just seemed so immature to me. Bummed I did not like this more.

As much as I wanted to enjoy this, this was most definitely not my thing. I found myself excited about the cupid elements of this, but I just did not click with the writing at all for some reason.

Title Cupid’s Match
Author: Lauren Palphreyman
Rating 3 stars

This book is from Wattpad Books. (I didn’t know that was a thing) I really like the characters, i especially liked the fact there was no insta love trope. The characters were well written. There was love, comedy and betrayal. I think it’s a good book for people into romance and mythology.

I received this book from the publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I sadly DNF"d this book because a) it started off in a very weird place, and I felt like more build-up was necessary, and b) as much as I was hoping for it not to, it just felt like a cliche Wattpad novel (which makes sense when you realize that's exactly what it is). The premise did sound really good, though, & right up my ally (I'm a HUGE fan of Greek mythology retellings!), so maybe I'll consider trying this book again at a future date!

Okay, this was definitely interesting and pretty unique! It was definitely a fun read and really interesting to read about being the perfect Match for Cupid himself.

That being said I had some problems with the book, I didn't really connect to the relationship between Lila and Cupid... Cal tho, I'm more of a fan! The relationship between Lila and Cupid didn't progress naturally in my opinion. I wasn't very invested in the book until about 75% through and there were a fair bit of plot holes, but I'd be interested in reading a sequel to see if we get more info about the Cupid Matchmaking and all the random mythology that seemed to be thrown in.

Highschool drama? Check.
Bad boy romance? Check.
Mythological characters in the modern world? It's a HUGE check from me!
For those of you who don't know I'm a BIG fan of mythology and love books that incorporate it into the story line.  I was very kindly gifted a copy of Cupid's Match by Penguin Random House, and I'm so happy to report that this one exceeded my expectations!

a truly breathtaking novel of cupid and all the power it holds, in a world where perfect matches are not uncommon Lila’s story differs from the rest

Considering I've had a bad experience with Wattpad published books, this was a surprise. I actually enjoyed Cupid's Match haha!
The story is very cliche, no doubt. It has its romance and drama. But what I enjoyed the most were the twists and turns throughout the story that the author gave us. The drama, I felt, was so good haha!! And even though you know that the end of the book's gonna look like, you still root for the story to take its shape.
Lila and Cupid were adorable, tbh. Cliche, no doubt, but adorable no doubt. Towards the end, I really started shipping them.
Although I did feel the writing was a bit choppy at times and the ending felt a little rushed.
However, it was still a lovely story and I loved how strategic planning was done to win at the end!! Graceful eep!!

I was uncertain about picking this book up but all I can say is that it was an intriguing and somewhat shorter read. Originally, I chose this book because it was based around mythology and seemed like a quick read. I was soon wrapped up in this tale and despite my misgivings due to the original description of the story, I enjoyed it.

I loved the cover, the character, the premise. I love when mythology is given a new twist, but I didn't find this book to be as interesting as I expected going into it. I did expect more intricate prose and intelligence from the main character.

Cupid's Match has been on my list since wattpad. I am so incredibly happy for Lauren Palphreyman and her series and as an edited full novel, Cupid's Match is even more incredible than I remember on wattpad.

I loved the idea. It was unique at least for me.I liked the mythology and the way the author used it.

The story itself was a mixed bag.

I received this arc from netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

Usually I'm not really into high school romance, it's usually lack lustre and just not up my alley, but this one really peaked my interest. The fact that this book includes Roman mythology into this book gave it such a unique twist and it had me racing through this book. I don't want to say too much in this review to avoid spoiling it, but it is definitely worth the read! I understand now why they decided to work this into a book and publish it and I get why it was so popular!

1.5 stars but I was feeling kind so I rounded up.

I loved the premise when I first read it but the story did not deliver the way I expected it to. First, I think the age of the characters and target audience put this at a huge disadvantage. This could have been a lot more fun and interesting had the characters not been high-school age. There would have been more opportunities to build the tension and that's what was missing. It was missing that undercurrent of awareness, lust, tension, danger, all those elements you would expect to come with the OG bad boy of love, Cupid himself.

I kept reading because I love mythology and I love this idea. I wanted to see how it would play out. And the end did step things up a bit and hold my attention better. But the writing wasn't great and the girl torn between two guys trope is so overplayed. And things ended with a clear path for a sequel, which was disappointing because while I have no intention of reading further, I was hoping for the resolution of some things.

Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC of Cupid’s Match in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own and aren’t influenced by anyone.

I had no idea what Cupid’s Match would be about when I first saw it but I thought the cover was gorgeous so I read the description and that’s when I knew I just had to read it. Then my request got accepted and wow, this book wasn’t what I expected.

Honestly, I was a bit nervous about the mythology part of this novel because it isn’t a topic I read a lot so I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not. But it didn’t cause a problem for me. It just made the story so much more interesting.

I was hooked from the start. The main character, Lila Black, was so funny and sarcastic, which I absolutely loved about her! It was a pleasure to read from her perspective. The story was also filled with many mythical creatures that I adore and loved reading about and thee witing was amazing!

If you’re a fan of mythology, romance, with a mix of action then Cupid’s Match is the book for you and I just know you’ll love it! I rate this book 5 out of stars.

Is a new take on something I would have never thought of. I love that the book revolves around mythology and has a new look on matchmaking. Was very easy to get into, the fact that the main character never wanted to be matched makes it all the more intriguing. It wasn't like your average plot, the story completely blew me away. it was a bit too fast and I had to reread a few times to understand who was who and what their part was in the story. Overall I love the book and recommend it to anyone looking for something new.
