The Kissing Contract is Amy Andrews' newest stand-alone novel. The main characters of the story are Marshall and Augusta who goes by Gus. There was a lot of bad blood between Marshall and his grandfather which shaped in some ways the man he is now. The grandfather was a douche, so I was totally on Marshall's team. In his will, the grandfather left a whole island to Marshall's brother and now the two brothers have big plans for it. Well, at least they had until 200 bunnies got on their way. And that's how Gus got into Marshall's life. No, she is not a bunny, but she is the one who is going to take them away and find them new homes in order for the brothers to continue with their plans. Marshall and Gus are forced by the court to work together and that's how their story begins.

The book was easy to read and a good companion on a hot summer afternoon. While it didn't have a wow factor, I liked reading it and I found the whole bunny ordeal entertaining. I liked Marshall more than I liked Gus. There was something about her that didn't click for me. Still, I had no problem with her or any parts of the book and I would recommend it.

Funny, sexy and clever
5 stars

I have newly discovered Amy Andrews and hugely enjoyed her last book (Nothing But Trouble). However, I’m going to be honest and say that this worried me slightly when I started this book - would I enjoy this one as much as I did the last, and would it live up to expectations?

The answer to that is oh my god, yes!

Amy Andrews just has a way with words that pulls me in and makes me 100% absorbed in the story she’s telling and the characters she’s writing. She’s also so damn funny. I can’t tell you how many times I laughed out loud while reading this book. And I mean proper laughing out loud as well as those very ladylike snorts of laughter!

While the underlying story of saving the bunnies may sound slightly silly, the book certainly isn’t. While it’s definitely light, fun and very humorous, it’s got smarts, is interesting and has depth as well as heart. Oh, and I forgot to mention it’s sexy as hell.

Which is surprising given that our main couple don’t have sex for the majority of the book due to said kissing contract they initiate after finding themselves on opposing sides yet irritatingly attracted to each other! Everyone else is humping like bunnies - including the bunnies - but not Gus and Marshall. But when they do…boy oh boy! This book is a masterclass in how you do sexual tension!

I really liked Marshall. I mean really liked him. He’s a bit of a guy - he does alright with ladies and he’s sexy as hell. But he’s also a good man. And for a girl like Gus who has been judged and objectified for her looks for most of her life - he’s a surprising godsend and exactly the right match for her. I want a Marshall for my very own. Dirty mind, dirty mouth, a good body and a good heart!

Gus was also a character I could really root for and get behind. She was passionate and down to earth…until she was provoked which is when she turned haughty. And the way it riled up Marshall just made so happy. I love a bit of annoyance in a love story! And I have to admit that I liked how Gus handled the pair’s reconciliation. It made me appreciate her as a character as well as making me believe that this couple would stay together after I closed the book!

I want to keep going and tell you all the things I loved about this book - all the scenes, all the jokes, all the sexy bits and all the genius writing. But instead I’ll just tell you again how much I loved this book and recommend that if you like your love stories with a humour and fun (and bunnies) then you’ll love this book, too. 5 stars from me.

So, this was delightfully silly, cute, and fluffy. Honestly, I could really give to flips about rescuing bunnies especially with the state of the world we are in, but once I let that go I enjoyed this a lot.

Marshall is a total grump who is brought around by a firm, yet sunny, veterinarian who makes him work for every chance he gets with her. Dr. Augusta "Gus" North is the competence porn heroine of your dreams, who can both wear a suit and heels with aplomb but can also castrate a rabbit in ten minutes or less.

The titular "kissing contract" comes about because Gus doesn't want Marshall to distract her while they count and remove the bunnies that have overrun his private island work zone, but they've already kissed once before they make it, so we all know the heat is for real between these two. I adore when characters hook up right away, then deny their feeeeelings and hormones while constantly coming this close to riding the train to pound-town.

Also, there's a loophole found in regards to oral (him on her) sex, and that was a fun good time for me too!

Loved this fun, sexy, exciting and action packed romantic journey filled with fun witty banter, adorably addicting charters, emotionally thrilling twists and exciting passion. These two made me laugh, cry and cheer, I so hope his brother is the next fall. Great reading!

“Who’d have thought a half-naked guy cuddling a rabbit could be so…so…so damn stimulating?” Words I never thought I would read. This is a story about Augusta (Gus) and veterinarian and Marshall and their tricky relationship. Marshall hasn’t been able to settle down and Gus has been hurt too bad to have a relationship with Marshall other than a professional one. Fun and steamy summer read!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Kissing Contract by author Amy Andrews is another good story to fill the hours with interesting character antics. Rambo often was a scene stealer :)

more like 3.5 for me.

i really enjoy amy andrews books - this is my 5th or 6th, i think? i must admit i prefer when they are set in Oz, but that's just me and my homesickness talking.

this one was really cute, i really liked marshall and i liked gus too. i had a wee bit of trouble with the contract part of it all, didn't especially see the point of or need for it? i get that it's the title of the book and therefore necessary but i guess i didn't feel the reason for it was really valid. i didn't know if it was trying to be enemies to lovers? it really wasn't, aside from their first meeting in the courtroom, they got along fine? maybe i am missing something. the chemistry was definitely there, plenty of steamy scenes, the ending was cute. it was funny, their banter was there and gus's shirts were fabulous. i liked thumper. i did find some of the bunny scenes - like talking about them - a bit of a slog to get through but it picks up in the second half. i laughed at the authors note.

overall, not my fave from amy andrews, but she's still one of my go to authors and i'll continue to read her books. i just have a soft spot for the ones set in australia.

4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting this book down. It had a great sense of humor and I was chuckling a lot while I reading this book. The characters were awesome. I loved the banter between Marshall and Gus. This book also delivered on the heart and feels. Marshall's past broke my heart, but I loved how he created a new perception of the island. Marshall holding the bunnies yeah Gus is right ovary bursting for sure. I loved the whole bunny rescue portion of the book. It was rather intriguing operation. This is another winner by Amy Andrews and a book I highly recommend.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This book was hilarious is spots when I just cracked up out loud. I especially loved the sayings on Augusta's (Gus) clothing. I loved Marshall and his innuendos. Gus on the other hand was a bit self-centered. I also couldn't understand as to why it would take 4 weeks to clear the island of bunnies. I realize that it is just a story but it seemed a little unrealistic to me.

The book was slow at times almost to the point where I really wanted to skip parts. It really seemed like sections were just repeating themselves. I felt the book could have either been shorter or the when the ending was finally here to actually draw that portion out a little bit.

I was grateful for the book being written in a dual POV format. This book should only be read by someone over the age of 18 due to the sexual nature in places.

I am giving 4 stars instead of 3 because there were some really great parts to this story.

The Kissing Contract was a fun, light, easy read. This was my first Amy Andrews novel and I enjoyed it. This unusual storyline was amusing and imaginative and much more than I expected. This was a slow burn romance but the chemistry between Marshall and Gus was simmering throughout the story. Both flawed, complex characters, I loved the banter between them. This enemies to lovers novel will evoke a range of emotions from you as the story progresses but the laugh out loud moments will have you entertained.
The Kissing Contract was a enjoyable well-written tale and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of Romantic Comedies.

This book was totally WILD!! One veterinarian trying to save hundreds of bunnies and one builder determined to level the island they are inhabiting. I knew from the blurb that this was going to be an insane ride and it definitely was. I loved the banter in this book so much. Marshall and Gus are totally at odds and not looking forward to working with each other to eradicate the bunny problem but being forced by court order to do just that just increased their animosity. The chemistry between Marshall and Gus was instantaneous and completely off the charts. There's a thin line between love and hate and these two straddled it for a long time. There were so many great characters and so much hilarity in this story that I couldn't put it down. There were definitely some weird word choices that I just couldn't seem to get over so I had to drop a star from this otherwise fantastic book.

A private island, an unwanted inheritance, a benevolent gift and a whole load of fertile bunnies!

Marshall Dyson wants to open his grandfather's private island to single parent families to obliterate the memories of his past and his grandfather's inhumanity to the ground. Unfortunately a population of wild rabbits has grown on the island and the American Bunny League opposes his plans to eliminate them. Instead, a court orders Marshall to cooperate with the American Bunny League to humanely trap all of the rabbits and put them up for adoption. Much as he loathes the court's decision Marshall can't help his attraction to the American Bunny League's spokesperson, veterinarian Dr Augusta North. Now Marshall and Augusta are spending four weeks trapped on a small island, surrounded by horny bunny volunteers and lots and lots of rabbits.

This is a zany romantic comedy between a dedicated bunny scientist and a successful construction company CEO, full of sexual tension, smokin' hot smexy times and some of the cutest bunnies you could ever imagine. Loved it.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This is the first book by Amy Andrews that I have read and I really enjoyed it. It was well written and the characters were very realistic. I could actually picture myself there, on this Island exploring, it was that vivid. The author painted a good picture and it drew me into the story.

Marshal and Gus, short for Augusta, are great characters. The sexual chemistry between them is off the charts, which is why I was very intrigued as to how this story would go, given the contract they had just negotiated. I couldn't wait to turn the page to see what happened next, I loved the slow burn between them. The story got better and hotter the more I read.

I really hope there is a story planned for Marshal’s brother, Jeremy! I’d definitely read that!

This was a unique set up with the two main characters stuck together on an island rescuing bunnies for a month. Can't say I've read any other books like that - LOL. Their chemistry was on fire and the supporting characters (including Thumper, the biggest bunny!) were fun. I'd say this passed the time just fine but isn't falling onto a re-read/new favourite type of shelf for me, personally. The ending just wrapped up a tiny bit too neatly that it felt unrealistic - but then again, the rest of the plot felt that way at times too and it was fun.

This story has it all: excitement, friendship, cute furry little animals, heartbreak, family, sexy fun, determination, and love. My heart broke all over again when Marshall told of what happened to his mother as I could totally relate. That was such a heartbreaking but beautiful moment in this story. I loved how Marshall and Gus met, had preconceived notions about each other, fought hard to resist one another. I loved how he called her by her whole name, Augusta. Their chemistry was off the charts and they took the time to really know each other. By the end of this book, I was hooked on both of them. Now I just need Jeremy's story. I know his would be a doozie, that playboy will fall hard. But underneath, both Dyson men have hearts of gold.

Loved this charming fun story so much! It's fun, sassy & flirty and I think you'll fall in love with Marshall and Gus (Augusta) as I did and of course there are lots of cute bunnies that will rope you in immediately. The easy banter between Marshall and Gus is entertaining as is the slow sizzle that flares to life. With a storyline that could have quickly gotten silly, Ms. Andrews did a fantastic job of giving us the humor while keeping the story moving and believable. I think everyone will enjoy this one and I highly recommend it.

The Kissing Contract is my first introduction to Amy Andrews' books. I found it to be a fun and entertaining read. I enjoyed Gus and Marshall's story. They had great chemistry. There were some moments that I could not help but to laugh out loud. The plot was quite unique and refreshing to me. Throw in a bunch of adorable bunny rabbits, I could not help but to keep reading.

I give The Kissing Contract four stars. I look forward to see where else the imagination of Miss Andrews will take her readers to next.

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

If you are a fan of enemies to lovers and a delicious slow burn, then this is the perfect book for you! Marshall Dyson wants nothing to do with the island his grandfather left him, but before he can raze the island to the ground and start building again he gets taken to court by Dr Augusta “Gus” North the veterinarian who is trying to save the bunnies that have been multiplying on the island.

Of course the chemistry between Gus and Marshall is off the charts, but Gus wants to keep it strictly professional and has them both sign a contract that clearly states there is to be no kissing while they are on the island ranging the bunnies. Amy Andrews definitely knows how to write steamy scenes and the scenes between Marshall and Gus are hot!!

The delicious buildup to “the kiss” was driving me crazy and I think that was the whole point! Marshall was the perfect book boyfriend - sweet, hot and so caring. Gus has her own issues to work through and her reasons for keeping Marshall at arms length are valid, although I wanted to shake her a few times to tell her what a wonderful guy Marshall was! I hope that Marshall’s brother Jeremy has his own book coming soon!

A solid 3.5 star read from me. **ARC provided by Entangled Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I love this book! A laugh out loud so hard you cry & have people looking at you like you're crazy if you're in a public place kind of story! Full of steam, funny t-shirts with bunny sayings across the front, sex like bunnies for a month by wabbit wescue volunteers, and a no kissing contract between Marshall and Gus that keeps you hanging by a thread, wondering whether they'll break it or not. Oh, and let's not forget poor Thumper, one of the ugliest rabbits on earth that can't find a home. Poor sweet Thumper. I couldn't put it down! The Kissing Contract is my introduction to Amy Andrews and I love her her style!
