Now this, to me, would classify as a great beach read.
Marshall and Augusta or Gus, start out as enemies over, of all things, bunnies. The bunnies were a great diversion, but look deeper into their journey. A lot of resolving going on for both of them, but they truly get to be friends, to know each other, and assess themselves, with bumps along the way. There is so much anticipated heat on this path because of a napkin, a pen and a silly agreement, maybe not so silly after all! It gave me shivers when Marshall called her "Augusta" mmm, so gravelly! Or I LoL'ed when he called her Goldilocks and she called him Elmer, a ton of inside humor throughout.
Rescuing any species should not be taken lightly and I applaud Ms Andrew's efforts, fact and fiction mixed, to rehome these wapidly increasing wascally wabbits.
A few times, I do wish Gus would've shut her mind off as I understood her dilemma from the start, but still a very good read with a very HEA!
I received an advance reader's copy thru Netgalley and am giving my voluntary honest opinions without spoilers or lengthy synopsis.

This was such a fun read, with plenty of sexual tension, a couple of hot scenes, tons of banter and nearly 200 bunnies.

I had a fun time catching Bunnies with Gus and sexy Marshall. When Marshall is ordered by the court to help Gus and the ABL (American Bunny League), you can tell straight away there's going to be plenty of back and forth between these two characters.

I found Gus and her adamance on following the contract they signed saying no kissing to be amusing considering the sexual tension between the two of them. Also it wasn't just Marshall who was suffering, I'm not sure I could have held out like she did. But she has her reasons for holding out, past hurts can be nasty things to get over.

I enjoyed Marshall's teasing of Gus and his frustration with the situation as well as his adamance that he would eventually get that kiss.

I liked the way Marshall started to appreciate the island on a different level over the month he spent there with Gus catching Bunnies, he had a lot of healing to do himself.

This was a fun escapist read, that put a smile on my face and gave me plenty of giggles along the way.

The authors note at the back of the book is definitely worth reading for an extra smile.

This is the first book I have read by Amy Andrews and it definitely won’t be the last! I loved this story about Gus, a vet specializing in bunny rescues, and Marshall, a construction company owner with a bunny problem.

Gus and Marshall were super likable. They were both guarded for different reasons and had things in their past that definitely were hindering their futures. I really enjoyed reading the progression of their relationship. It was definitely more a slow burn and I appreciated that. I loved Marshall and Jeremy’s relationship. I really hope we get a book about Jeremy!

Overall I would definitely recommend this one. It was very well written and hooked me from the start. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

3 stars
Who doesn't love bunnies?? Marshall Dyson, that is who! Especially when the bunnies are costing him money. That and they come with Dr. Augusta “Gus” North who is helping the American Bunny League keep the bunnies safe from Marshall's construction.

Cute, but predictable story about enemies to lovers.

The Kissing Contract is a fun read that will give you warm “fuzzies”. Author Amy Andrews gives us an enjoyable rom-com with great characters and a really good storyline. There was humor, heat, I loved the setting, the banter, the puns, and of course…the bunnies!!! The ending felt slightly rushed, but overall I REALLY enjoyed this! I am looking forward to there being a book 2 in the Wrong Side Of The Tracks series and hopefully we will see more of Marshall and Gus (Augusta)! **4.5 stars**

I really loved this story and its vibrant, round characters. The plot is full of imagination and humor. It’s very romantic, yet realistic, largely due to the fact that Amy Andrews writes romantic characters that are also realistically complex, human.
There are no slow parts in “The Kissing Contract”; it’s an enjoyable, fun ride where two mature people test the limits of their capacity to risk their feelings. The whole subplot with the rabbits is hilarious and enhances the main characters traits (the hero’s skills and care with the animals is one of his most endearing and unexpected qualities).
I loved the approach to sex as intimacy, desire, passion, as physical and emotional/psychological pleasure and the sensuality involved in kissing. When Marshall and Gus finally kiss it’s simply gorgeous to read. Their attraction is simmering, explosive and tightly lashed throughout the story by the author’s talent. And the humor makes it all so enjoyable.
I also loved that Marshall is a builder and Gus is a scholar veterinarian. Marshall is the most practical, steady, dependable guy, “good with his hands”, and the kind of man who gets things done, yet so very dreamy.
Marshall and Jeremy’s relationship is great, I hope the hero’s brother gets his story.

I was not sure how much I would like the book when I read the blurb but honestly the cover just drew me in. Once I started reading it I was blow away by Amy Andrews. This book is funny (so funny I was laughing out loud), sweet and even romantic at times. I loved the characters they were so well developed and the chemistry between them was hot. I even got into the story about the bunnies! Trust me this author will not disappoint you with this book. Pick it up and give this story a chance. Thanks Net Galley. Smart, sexy and so snarky. This was an easy to read, feel good book.
The witty banter and sexual chemistry between Gus and Marshall was amazing.
I even found it somewhat educational.
Two people from completely different worlds finding common ground and love...perfection.

This was a new to me author and I'm on the fence on this one. It was a fun read... a good lighthearted novel even though Marshall does have a difficult childhood backstory. Both main characters are enjoyable, but the book didn't completely wow me. It has good moments, and their chemistry is palpable and well executed (I really enjoyed their scenes together) but some part of pace seemed off for me, especially at the end. It seemed like the author ran of steam at the end and a lot of the last part feels rushed, which is sad because I really wanted to read about them working out those issues.
Not a bad book, but not a 5 star either.

Augusta (Gus) is a veterinarian who works for a rabbit rescue organization. Her employer is suing a contractor in order to perform a large-scale rabbit rescue before his company begins work the private island where the rabbits are located.

Marshall is a contractor who wants to begin dismantling structures on a private island that hold nothing but bad memories for him. But first he has to deal with a court order to capture and rehome what could be hundreds of rabbits. It’s just too bad that the veterinarian leading the operation drives him crazy in more ways than one.

Can two people who begin on opposing sides of a court case and who both have a lot of emotional baggage work through their individual demons and find love?

An island full of bunnies doing what bunnies do. A nerdy girl. A cocky guy. All of this comes together for a great book!

This was a such a cute read! Marshall and Gus just had amazing chemistry and slow burning romance. It was also had a lot of laugh out loud scenes that evened out the melancholy ones you got in the book. Can't wait to read more from Andrews!

Whoever would have thought that a book involving bunnies running amuck would be so entertaining? But The Kissing Contract by Amy Andrews is unquestionably entertaining as well as fun, sassy and at times, downright hilarious. I have only read one of Ms Andrews books before this, but it is very obvious she is exceptionally skilled at writing humour, clever dialogue and creating a believable plot that brings it all together nicely. This is a fabulous read that combines, heartfelt and deeply emotional background issues, with wittiness and laughter. I can definitely recommend this book!

Wonderfully original romance

I was blown away by Amy Andrew’s The Kissing Contract.
Marshall and Gus/Augusta though they first met as adversaries became an amazing couple. I loved their banter and their sexual chemistry was off the charts. Each had personal baggage they needed to deal with before they got to their HEA and watching them grow and heal was extremely satisfying. The concept of the bunnies was really clever and I would love to read a book about Marshall’s brother Jeremy.

If you had told me that I would adore a book that revolved around relocating escaped bunnies, I would have been skeptical. But if you like humor and heat in your romances, you must read The Kissing Contract by Amy Andrews. This hilarious look at capturing pet bunnies on a deserted island is a hoot, and a perfect beach read.

Marshall owns a construction company and can’t wait to tear up his late grandfather’s former island retreat. However, the American Bunny League—yes, it’s a thing—takes him to court, insisting they relocate the progeny of two escaped bunnies currently inhabiting the island. Veterinarian Gus develops the bunny census, and organizes the tracking and capturing of the 200+ rabbits.

Marshall and Gus both realize there are sparks between them as they bicker back and forth over bunny details, but Gus is wary of all men after her last boyfriend cheated on her. Her solution? Write a contract that specifies that there will be no kissing during the month that they are on the island together. As they attempt to follow the contract to the letter, their steamy chemistry makes it apparent that they won’t succeed.

When I was reading this book, people gave me weird looks since I kept laughing loudly. Marshall’s quips, a fantastic set of supporting characters, and even Gus’ fantastic bunny t-shirt collection all add up to a hilarious story I couldn’t put down.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Marshall’s mother was disowned by her wealthy father when she fell in love with a man he deemed unacceptable, when she wouldn’t go along with his grandiose plans for her. His parents struggle financially and when both his parents die – his father when he is eight from an accident and his mother when he is fifteen, Marshall only has bitterness against his grandfather who spurned his own daughter the few times she was desperate enough to approach him for a loan.

Being the older of 2 brothers, it is Marshall who shelters his younger brother Jeremy as much as he can & who, when his mother dies, drops out of school and starts working.
When their grandfather dies and wills his wealth to Jeremy, the brother decides to turn an island their grandfather owns into a retreat for families. But when they find the island overrun by bunnies and get into a lawsuit by animal lovers who learn of their plans to remove the animals, Marshall finds himself ordered in court to assist the sexiest vet he has ever seen in humanely removing the animals.

This was an amazing story. I totally fell in love with Marshall and Gus who are both amazing characters. Gus is drop dead gorgeous and is quite cynical about the fact that men are more focused on her chest rather than her brains or character. Hurting after a (she thought) serious relationship goes wrong when she catches her boyfriend cheating on her; Gus is swearing off men only to be seriously conflicted when she meets Marshall. All her hormones scream “yes!” but her head is super wary of being hurt again.

Marshal is just a dream character. Strong, caring, he appreciates Gus for her intelligence (which he finds super sexy and attractive) and not just her looks. The characters are so wonderfully developed, the humour is intoxicating – loads of laugh out loud moments and the conversation is witty, cheeky and clever. Never clichéd or the type where you feel the author is trying to hard to be funny but falls flat.

And smokin hot!

The chemistry and connection between Gus and Marshall was enthralling. A definite keeper. Can’t recommend this book enough.

Marshall Dyson and Augusta/Gus North meet when Marshall , a builder who is ready to work on an island project, is forced to go to court when Gus, a veterinarian representing the American Bunny League, is there to stop his project. The reason, there are over 200 bunnies on the island that need to be caught and given new homes. Needless to say that even though the chemistry is instantaneous, neither is happy with the other one. When the judge forces them to work together on the island, they decide to make a contract. No kissing or sex during the weeks they are working together.
Aside from that storyline, it’s a story about family or lack thereof. Of how sometimes those who are suppose to love you, instead destroy you emotionally and sometimes the damage is felt for the rest of ones life.
For me it was more of a 3.5 star story. At times it dragged and though I loved Marshall, Gus was just ok.
