A slow, sweet romance. I really liked the hero. Excellent read!

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for ARC. All opinions are my own.

The kissing contract is a sweet slow build romance between contractor and construction worker Marshall and ABL/vet and all around great woman Augusta. These two meet in a courtroom and end up court ordered to Marshall’s family island to solve a bunny issue.

Their chemistry is off the charts and Gus is terrified so they create a contract for no kissing while they are working. It’s all great but work to save the bunnies brings them closer and closer and keeping their hands to themselves is harder than they thought.

It’s funny cute and slow burn. All in all good and fun to read.

The Kissing Contract by @amyandrewsbooks follows Augusta and Marshall. They meet in court when Marshall is intent on clearing the land of an island his family owns in order build cabins for families. One small problem. Someone released a few domesticated bunnies onto the island and they've been repopulating like crazy. The bunnies need to be removed before any construction can take place. Enter Dr. Gus North who shows up in court to petition that way in which Marshall wants to remove the rabbits.

The judge hands them an ultimatum and they must compromise. Soon they find themselves both stuck on the island with rabbit removal and unable to stop thinking about each other. Their attraction is palpable. It only makes sense that they lay some ground rules i.e. no kissing to keep it as professional as possible.

I really enjoyed this one. I wasn't sure at first how I’d feel about the rabbit storyline but I loved watching Marshall and Gus fight their attraction to one another. This one is definitely a slow burn but those steamy scenes paid off. This one is out NOW if you're looking for a cute, quick, one-day romance to get lost in!

Amy Andrews is really bringing her A-game with this book. I was hooked from page one and couldn’t put it down. It was sweet, sexy, and fun. The witty banter and drama had me fully invested in this story. Hilarious and enticing!! Loved it!! Happy reading!!

Who would have thought bunnies would be so effective at driving a plot and bringing two people together. I sure as hell wasn't expecting it, and yet here I am, madly in love with Marshall and Gus as a couple, and as individuals. All thanks to a few bunnies doing what they do best on an island without predators.

For a book with ONE penetrative sex scene, this was one of the hottest books I've read this year. The tension between Marshall and Gus was off the charts. And it shows that shoving it in is not actually necessary for a good time. My lordy. These two. We're kept waiting for that one scene, but all the build-up was delicious. That being said, I would have still welcomed more. Other people (and rabbits) were going at it a lot more than these two, and that's completely unfair to them and us.

Gus (Augusta) and I are a lot alike. Ok, yes, I'm not a supermodel by a long way, but I don't like rushing into intimacy. Hell, for someone who loves dirty jokes and sexy books as much as I do, I feel super weird when guys rush into sexual flirtation too quickly. (#demilife.) So her hesitance to jump into anything, and her lack of trust in men in general, was very relatable. I also looooved that she was a vet. In another life, I would have studied zoology and worked with animals like Gus does, and even if Amy made up a lot of the process (she admits to as much in a very funny author's note at the end), it still was a fun ride. It also allowed Marshall and us as readers to focus on how amazing Gus is as a competent woman (who can desex animals with a scalpel).

Marshall came across as a bit douchey at first, but he very quickly won me over. Like, almost instantly. We learn why he's so eager to tear apart the island fairly quickly, so we can focus on falling in love and watching Gus try not to fall in love for most of the book. I'm really glad about that, as it had me very invested in them as a couple almost from the start. I really loved that Marshall was not overly ripped, didn't have a monster dick, and was successful even though he dropped out of high school (for a reason). He was just such a normal guy... except he's not like many guys I know because he understood Gus' limits and didn't pressure her to do things she'd regret while drunk and had the patience to wait her out. And he found it hot that she was so smart! Why can't more guys be like that! (But then Amy is a woman and knows what I want to read.)

If you're on the lookout for competent heroines, feminist heroes, rough hands but gentle hearts, and bunnies, do yourself a favour and read this book.

I really enjoyed this book about Marshall and "Gus" This book was laugh out loud funny. You have a napkin contract and you just know that is meant to be broken. Throw in some bunnies on an island and laughter ensues. I have enjoyed other books by Amy Andrews and was happy to read another great book!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I am not sure but I think this is part of a series, but it reads as a stand alone. I thought this was amazingly silly! Found it hard to believe but it did make me laugh. This is a silly, fluff piece that many will enjoy. I found its not really my cup of tea. I rate it 3 stars.

This had a cute idea of pairing a man who just wants to change a bad memory and open up a little island which had been closed. He wants to give the locals a place they never had. The woman he falls for is the one who is in his way...the champion of Bunnies.

It seems the island has been overrun by them and these bunnies did what bunnies do...make more bunnies.

Now, these two have to spend a month alone on the island rounding up said bunnies and not fall for each other.

Good Luck

I wanted an afternoon's escape, and Amy Andrew's provided just that with The Kissing Contract. The primary couple had a meet cute moment, and the enemies to lovers story was off and running. The primary couple were engaging, the hero perhaps a little stronger than the heroine. I would have liked to have seen more growth in her character. The secondary characters, especially the hero's brother, were really intriguing (sequel, perhaps?). All in all, The Kissing Contract was entertaining and I will read more from Ms Andrews. 3.5

The Kissing Contract by Amy Andrews is a fun and entertaining read.

I enjoyed the storyline, it held my interest from start to end and I loved watching Marshall and Augusta/Gus relationship unfold.
I enjoyed their banter and I enjoyed the feelings they brought out in each other.
These two might have started out as enemies but feelings soon take a different turn and I was happy they opened their hearts to each other.

The Kissing Contract is a lovely, entertaining friends to lovers read and I highly recommend it.

The Kissing Contract is Amy Andrews' newest stand-alone novel. The main characters of the story are Marshall and Augusta who goes by Gus. There was a lot of bad blood between Marshall and his grandfather which shaped in some ways the man he is now. The grandfather was a douche, so I was totally on Marshall's team. In his will, the grandfather left a whole island to Marshall's brother and now the two brothers have big plans for it. Well, at least they had until 200 bunnies got on their way. And that's how Gus got into Marshall's life. No, she is not a bunny, but she is the one who is going to take them away and find them new homes in order for the brothers to continue with their plans. Marshall and Gus are forced by the court to work together and that's how their story begins.

The book was easy to read and a good companion on a hot summer afternoon. While it didn't have a wow factor, I liked reading it and I found the whole bunny ordeal entertaining. I liked Marshall more than I liked Gus. There was something about her that didn't click for me. Still, I had no problem with her or any parts of the book and I would recommend it.

Funny, sexy and clever

I have newly discovered Amy Andrews and hugely enjoyed her last book (Nothing But Trouble). However, I’m going to be honest and say that this worried me slightly when I started this book - would I enjoy this one as much as I did the last, and would it live up to expectations?

The answer to that is oh my god, yes!

Amy Andrews just has a way with words that pulls me in and makes me 100% absorbed in the story she’s telling and the characters she’s writing. She’s also so damn funny. I can’t tell you how many times I laughed out loud while reading this book. And I mean proper laughing out loud as well as those very ladylike snorts of laughter!

While the underlying story of saving the bunnies may sound slightly silly, the book certainly isn’t. While it’s definitely light, fun and very humorous, it’s got smarts, is interesting and has depth as well as heart. Oh, and I forgot to mention it’s sexy as hell.

Which is surprising given that our main couple don’t have sex for the majority of the book due to said kissing contract they initiate after finding themselves on opposing sides yet irritatingly attracted to each other! Everyone else is humping like bunnies - including the bunnies - but not Gus and Marshall. But when they do…boy oh boy! This book is a masterclass in how you do sexual tension!

I really liked Marshall. I mean really liked him. He’s a bit of a guy - he does alright with ladies and he’s sexy as hell. But he’s also a good man. And for a girl like Gus who has been judged and objectified for her looks for most of her life - he’s a surprising godsend and exactly the right match for her. I want a Marshall for my very own. Dirty mind, dirty mouth, a good body and a good heart!

Gus was also a character I could really root for and get behind. She was passionate and down to earth…until she was provoked which is when she turned haughty. And the way it riled up Marshall just made so happy. I love a bit of annoyance in a love story! And I have to admit that I liked how Gus handled the pair’s reconciliation. It made me appreciate her as a character as well as making me believe that this couple would stay together after I closed the book!

I want to keep going and tell you all the things I loved about this book - all the scenes, all the jokes, all the sexy bits and all the genius writing. But instead I’ll just tell you again how much I loved this book and recommend that if you like your love stories with a humour and fun (and bunnies) then you’ll love this book, too. 5 stars from me.

So, this was delightfully silly, cute, and fluffy. Honestly, I could really give to flips about rescuing bunnies especially with the state of the world we are in, but once I let that go I enjoyed this a lot.

Marshall is a total grump who is brought around by a firm, yet sunny, veterinarian who makes him work for every chance he gets with her. Dr. Augusta "Gus" North is the competence porn heroine of your dreams, who can both wear a suit and heels with aplomb but can also castrate a rabbit in ten minutes or less.

The titular "kissing contract" comes about because Gus doesn't want Marshall to distract her while they count and remove the bunnies that have overrun his private island work zone, but they've already kissed once before they make it, so we all know the heat is for real between these two. I adore when characters hook up right away, then deny their feeeeelings and hormones while constantly coming this close to riding the train to pound-town.

Also, there's a loophole found in regards to oral (him on her) sex, and that was a fun good time for me too!

Loved this fun, sexy, exciting and action packed romantic journey filled with fun witty banter, adorably addicting charters, emotionally thrilling twists and exciting passion. These two made me laugh, cry and cheer, I so hope his brother is the next fall. Great reading!

“Who’d have thought a half-naked guy cuddling a rabbit could be so…so…so damn stimulating?” Words I never thought I would read. This is a story about Augusta (Gus) and veterinarian and Marshall and their tricky relationship. Marshall hasn’t been able to settle down and Gus has been hurt too bad to have a relationship with Marshall other than a professional one. Fun and steamy summer read!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Kissing Contract by author Amy Andrews is another good story to fill the hours with interesting character antics. Rambo often was a scene stealer :)

more like 3.5 for me.

i really enjoy amy andrews books - this is my 5th or 6th, i think? i must admit i prefer when they are set in Oz, but that's just me and my homesickness talking.

this one was really cute, i really liked marshall and i liked gus too. i had a wee bit of trouble with the contract part of it all, didn't especially see the point of or need for it? i get that it's the title of the book and therefore necessary but i guess i didn't feel the reason for it was really valid. i didn't know if it was trying to be enemies to lovers? it really wasn't, aside from their first meeting in the courtroom, they got along fine? maybe i am missing something. the chemistry was definitely there, plenty of steamy scenes, the ending was cute. it was funny, their banter was there and gus's shirts were fabulous. i liked thumper. i did find some of the bunny scenes - like talking about them - a bit of a slog to get through but it picks up in the second half. i laughed at the authors note.

overall, not my fave from amy andrews, but she's still one of my go to authors and i'll continue to read her books. i just have a soft spot for the ones set in australia.

I really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting this book down. It had a great sense of humor and I was chuckling a lot while I reading this book. The characters were awesome. I loved the banter between Marshall and Gus. This book also delivered on the heart and feels. Marshall's past broke my heart, but I loved how he created a new perception of the island. Marshall holding the bunnies yeah Gus is right ovary bursting for sure. I loved the whole bunny rescue portion of the book. It was rather intriguing operation. This is another winner by Amy Andrews and a book I highly recommend.
