I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This book was hilarious is spots when I just cracked up out loud. I especially loved the sayings on Augusta's (Gus) clothing. I loved Marshall and his innuendos. Gus on the other hand was a bit self-centered. I also couldn't understand as to why it would take 4 weeks to clear the island of bunnies. I realize that it is just a story but it seemed a little unrealistic to me. The book was slow at times almost to the point where I really wanted to skip parts. It really seemed like sections were just repeating themselves. I felt the book could have either been shorter or the when the ending was finally here to actually draw that portion out a little bit. I was grateful for the book being written in a dual POV format. This book should only be read by someone over the age of 18 due to the sexual nature in places. I am giving 4 stars instead of 3 because there were some really great parts to this story. |
The Kissing Contract was a fun, light, easy read. This was my first Amy Andrews novel and I enjoyed it. This unusual storyline was amusing and imaginative and much more than I expected. This was a slow burn romance but the chemistry between Marshall and Gus was simmering throughout the story. Both flawed, complex characters, I loved the banter between them. This enemies to lovers novel will evoke a range of emotions from you as the story progresses but the laugh out loud moments will have you entertained. The Kissing Contract was a enjoyable well-written tale and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of Romantic Comedies. |
This book was totally WILD!! One veterinarian trying to save hundreds of bunnies and one builder determined to level the island they are inhabiting. I knew from the blurb that this was going to be an insane ride and it definitely was. I loved the banter in this book so much. Marshall and Gus are totally at odds and not looking forward to working with each other to eradicate the bunny problem but being forced by court order to do just that just increased their animosity. The chemistry between Marshall and Gus was instantaneous and completely off the charts. There's a thin line between love and hate and these two straddled it for a long time. There were so many great characters and so much hilarity in this story that I couldn't put it down. There were definitely some weird word choices that I just couldn't seem to get over so I had to drop a star from this otherwise fantastic book. |
A private island, an unwanted inheritance, a benevolent gift and a whole load of fertile bunnies! Marshall Dyson wants to open his grandfather's private island to single parent families to obliterate the memories of his past and his grandfather's inhumanity to the ground. Unfortunately a population of wild rabbits has grown on the island and the American Bunny League opposes his plans to eliminate them. Instead, a court orders Marshall to cooperate with the American Bunny League to humanely trap all of the rabbits and put them up for adoption. Much as he loathes the court's decision Marshall can't help his attraction to the American Bunny League's spokesperson, veterinarian Dr Augusta North. Now Marshall and Augusta are spending four weeks trapped on a small island, surrounded by horny bunny volunteers and lots and lots of rabbits. This is a zany romantic comedy between a dedicated bunny scientist and a successful construction company CEO, full of sexual tension, smokin' hot smexy times and some of the cutest bunnies you could ever imagine. Loved it. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review. |
This is the first book by Amy Andrews that I have read and I really enjoyed it. It was well written and the characters were very realistic. I could actually picture myself there, on this Island exploring, it was that vivid. The author painted a good picture and it drew me into the story. Marshal and Gus, short for Augusta, are great characters. The sexual chemistry between them is off the charts, which is why I was very intrigued as to how this story would go, given the contract they had just negotiated. I couldn't wait to turn the page to see what happened next, I loved the slow burn between them. The story got better and hotter the more I read. I really hope there is a story planned for Marshal’s brother, Jeremy! I’d definitely read that! |
This was a unique set up with the two main characters stuck together on an island rescuing bunnies for a month. Can't say I've read any other books like that - LOL. Their chemistry was on fire and the supporting characters (including Thumper, the biggest bunny!) were fun. I'd say this passed the time just fine but isn't falling onto a re-read/new favourite type of shelf for me, personally. The ending just wrapped up a tiny bit too neatly that it felt unrealistic - but then again, the rest of the plot felt that way at times too and it was fun. |
This story has it all: excitement, friendship, cute furry little animals, heartbreak, family, sexy fun, determination, and love. My heart broke all over again when Marshall told of what happened to his mother as I could totally relate. That was such a heartbreaking but beautiful moment in this story. I loved how Marshall and Gus met, had preconceived notions about each other, fought hard to resist one another. I loved how he called her by her whole name, Augusta. Their chemistry was off the charts and they took the time to really know each other. By the end of this book, I was hooked on both of them. Now I just need Jeremy's story. I know his would be a doozie, that playboy will fall hard. But underneath, both Dyson men have hearts of gold. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley. |

Loved this charming fun story so much! It's fun, sassy & flirty and I think you'll fall in love with Marshall and Gus (Augusta) as I did and of course there are lots of cute bunnies that will rope you in immediately. The easy banter between Marshall and Gus is entertaining as is the slow sizzle that flares to life. With a storyline that could have quickly gotten silly, Ms. Andrews did a fantastic job of giving us the humor while keeping the story moving and believable. I think everyone will enjoy this one and I highly recommend it. |

The Kissing Contract is my first introduction to Amy Andrews' books. I found it to be a fun and entertaining read. I enjoyed Gus and Marshall's story. They had great chemistry. There were some moments that I could not help but to laugh out loud. The plot was quite unique and refreshing to me. Throw in a bunch of adorable bunny rabbits, I could not help but to keep reading. I give The Kissing Contract four stars. I look forward to see where else the imagination of Miss Andrews will take her readers to next. I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion. |
If you are a fan of enemies to lovers and a delicious slow burn, then this is the perfect book for you! Marshall Dyson wants nothing to do with the island his grandfather left him, but before he can raze the island to the ground and start building again he gets taken to court by Dr Augusta “Gus” North the veterinarian who is trying to save the bunnies that have been multiplying on the island. Of course the chemistry between Gus and Marshall is off the charts, but Gus wants to keep it strictly professional and has them both sign a contract that clearly states there is to be no kissing while they are on the island ranging the bunnies. Amy Andrews definitely knows how to write steamy scenes and the scenes between Marshall and Gus are hot!! The delicious buildup to “the kiss” was driving me crazy and I think that was the whole point! Marshall was the perfect book boyfriend - sweet, hot and so caring. Gus has her own issues to work through and her reasons for keeping Marshall at arms length are valid, although I wanted to shake her a few times to tell her what a wonderful guy Marshall was! I hope that Marshall’s brother Jeremy has his own book coming soon! A solid 3.5 star read from me. **ARC provided by Entangled Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. |
I love this book! A laugh out loud so hard you cry & have people looking at you like you're crazy if you're in a public place kind of story! Full of steam, funny t-shirts with bunny sayings across the front, sex like bunnies for a month by wabbit wescue volunteers, and a no kissing contract between Marshall and Gus that keeps you hanging by a thread, wondering whether they'll break it or not. Oh, and let's not forget poor Thumper, one of the ugliest rabbits on earth that can't find a home. Poor sweet Thumper. I couldn't put it down! The Kissing Contract is my introduction to Amy Andrews and I love her her style! Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Amara Publishing for approving a copy of this book for review. My review is my opinion alone. |
This is shy of a 5 star read. The storyline was quirky and the characters sweet There was immediate chemistry between Marshall and Gus. It started in the courtroom and lasted throughout the book. There were emotionally heartfelt moments in the book but the humour and silliness helped keep it upbeat. Gus and Marshall were so sweet that I wish these two would have had more of a romantic relationship before the last chapter. |
This is a hilarious story. Augusta and Marshal meet in a courtroom for the first time as adversaries. They however find themselves being forced to work together for weeks in close quarters. The author takes us on a hilarious jaunt as these two and the other characters round up bunnies on a small island. The banter is witty and awesome as they see who can outlast the ridiculous contract they have signed. |
I'm a self-proclaimed bunny lover, so Amy Andrews won me over before I even started reading the book. I found The Kissing Contract to be an extremely slow burn. I found myself thinking 'JUST GET TO THE S** ALREADY' on more than one occasion. But when the time was right, Andrews executed to the scene perfectly and all that waiting was worth it. Marshall's backstory will hit you hard and make you feel for him. The sexual tension throughout the whole book is off the charts. And once again Amy Andrews has made me fall in love with her writing all over again. |

The Kissing Contract by Amy Andrews is the most fun you will have reading the most preposterous plot. If you don’t believe me read the author’s note at the end of the book. Could this story happen, I don’t think so but who cares, it is just so enjoyable. Living life graciously, lovingly and fully is the best revenge is a lesson for us all. The Kissing Contract is funny with serious undertones. The characters are extremely likable both the main characters and the supporting ones, includes the bunnies. Marshall has many sides which all comes out in the story. He is easy to love so no wonder veterinarian Dr. Augusta “Gus” North fell for him. She also is a true catch; beauty and brains. I loved these two together. I loved how Marshall had to tackle his past, instead of it being skimmed over at the end. How Jeremy’s story is going to top this one, I can’t imagine. However, I may cry if Marshall’s brother does not get his own story. I hope Amy Andrews is writing it even now! I also would like to know about Ray. 4.5 Stars; loved the story but not the overused of one word of profanity, so took half a star off for that. Call me old fashioned but it stood out to me. |

When Marshall finds himself the heir to his grandfather’s island all he wants to do is destroy everything on it and hopefully that will destroy the bad memories as well. What he hadn’t counted on was a vet to put his plans on hold so that she could save the resident bunny population. Gus and the American Bunny League are determined to save their charges and that means taking Marshall to court. They must now work together to save the bunnies and the one rule that can’t be broken is no “bunny” business as evidenced by the kissing contract that Gus is determined to enforce. Heat and humor combine in this unique storyline that has you hoping that not only do the bunnies find a new home but that Gus and Marshall are able to heal from their pasts and find a home in each other as well. |
A fun concept with a cute twist. Marshall is not happy when his construction project is held up by Dr. Augusta 'Gus' North and the American Bunny League. Their attraction to each other is instantaneous and also a little inconvenient as they have to live and work together while catching and rehoming the rabbits. There are some really nice moments in this book. I liked their appreciation of each other's work as they spent more time together. Some of their banter was also pretty great as was Gus' bunny t-shirt collection. However, I did struggle with reading parts of the book. So much of it was dedicated to them constantly talking about how attractive the other person was and how turned on they were. I understand that as a romance there will be some of this, but it felt like 80% of the first half of the book was basically these two things. I think because so much of the book was this way the ending felt a bit rushed. I also appreciate a nice turn of phrase and varied word usage so the same descriptions aren't on every other page. There were a few times, though, it felt a little over the top here. Overall this was a fun book and I did end up enjoying it as I have other books by this author. I do hope there is a second book planned for Marshall's brother! |

This book was so freaking good! I really liked the characters, the story, and the chemistry. I have not read Amy Andrews before and I am looking forward to reading more by her! Marshall and Gus start off as enemies in which he is trying to develop an island that happens to be infested by domestic bunnies, Gus is a vet that is responsible for making sure that bunnies are safe and relocated well. They clash COMPLETELY but have major sexual chemistry. These two are so completely different people. Marshall is a mans man and super rugged. Gus is beautiful but that has been more of a hindrance than a good thing. I loved that these two did their Kissing Contract because they were able to get to know each other without kissing or having sex. I also liked the reasons that the couple worked but also had conflict also I freaking adored all of the bunnies, especially Thumper! <3 I recommend checking out this book if you want a light but heartfelt romance with just the right amount of steam and chemistry that works perfectly for the two of them! Thank you to Social Butterfly PR, Netgalley, and the author for allowing me an ARC to read and review honest and voluntarily! |
This right here is my kind of read. It is the most entertaining book I have ever read. Yes, it is that good. I spent half of the time reading this book laughing and the other half, squirming in my seat. It made me cry, it filled me up and left me unbelievably happy. This Enemies to Lovers trope is one of my favorite tropes and this one was simply fantastic! It was one of those books I picked up and pretty much didn’t put back down until it was over, because I was so hooked. But that is what Amy Andrews’ books tend to do to me. I am so glad that I found her stories.... I loved these characters, they were such fantastic characters, so full and rich with goodness and so attracted to one another. Their interactions were so full of sass, romance, and underlying passion as well as panty melting chemistry. I could feel their attraction and loved their heat. I thought Marshall was the sweetest man, thoughtful, and caring and oh so sexy! Loved Augusta “Gus” and how she tried to keep her walls up, so independent and fierce with such a soft heart inside. Her outfits and the sayings on them were to die for and so clever. This story was so hot, funny, sweet, and romantic. It left me with a smile on my face and joy in my heart, as well as being a new bunny lover for giving us this Epically Amazing book. LOL! LOVED IT!!!!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |

Marshall and Augusta (Gus), aka Elmer and Goldilocks, were the most endearing couple I have read in awhile. She was nursing a broken heart and he was so deep in denial about his past that he couldn't see the forest for the trees. When they meet, she is trying to stop his company from starting demolition on an island his brother owns. He can't have any more setbacks on this project and is stunned to learn the vet, who is trying to rehome hundreds of rabbits, is a sexy knockout. When the judge orders them to work together and complete the project in four weeks, they both believe it will be easy to stay away from each other. Unfortunately, the first night they both stay in the cabin, he doesn't know she is there and walks in buck naked. Things between the two move pretty fast, in some ways, from there. She sees a different side to him and realizes that he isn't the horrible person she thought he was. He also realizes that she so much more than a pretty package and he finds how smart she is to be a complete turn-on. When she writes a kissing contract, or .a no kissing contract, and adds no s** to the contract after realzing that she might be attracted to him, he is stunned but finds a way to get a kiss out of her in the end. The way these two come to be together, without kissing or having s**, is the gray area of the contract, but steamy all the same. They both realize they are falling for the other, but she is skittish, due to her past and finding out that he ended three engagements. In order to find their happiness together, he has to work on himself. Whether he will be willing to do that to get Gus is the question. Whether she will wait for him to figure out why he ended those relationships is also important. Finally, when Marshall asks a really big question at the absolute worst time, it will send Gus running, but he just might have a way to get the girl. A cute book with strong characters and really cute phrases on shirts that were extremely appropriate for this particular book. I enjoyed seeing Marshall find .another passion in life, albeit, one he never saw coming. I also enjoyed seeing Gus realize that no one was holding her back from falling in love except herself. I loved this book and hope to read a book about Marshall's brother in the near future. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review. |
