Found this book to be far too long, the life between Karla and Jason, moved from being happily married to total disaster.
Found that I skipped a lot of pages as they were irrelevant to the story, found all the character's weak, with faults all around.Could not really describe this book as a thriller.
The title does not seem appropriate either.

I really found this story rather silly and far too long.
Karla and Jason’s marriage was good until her father who was a bully interfered in there marriage by telling Jason something from his childhood.
This information caused there marriage to break down and brought some terrible things to light things that had happened many years ago.
Sorry this book was not for me.

A dazzling story with plenty of mystery and suspense! Jason and Karla have been married 12 years and have two preteen children. Jason was adopted. However: Karla's parents make up for tons of parents. Her mum, Diana, is good to the couple and loves the kids. Yet, Karla's father, Robert, is a liar, bully, cheat - you get the point. The only saving grace is that Robert is very wealthy. Jason's internet company has really never taken off. At the point where we enter the story, all possible loans have been issued, no savings are left and Karla is working a job to cover household expenses. Jason absolutely refuses to go to Karla's dad for financial assistance.

EVERYONE has secrets. As time unwinds, the reader finds out what these secrets are and what they potentially can destroy. No one escapes this story unscathed. Excitement and twists we don't predict are interesting and unexpected.

This is one brilliant read! I, too, was unable to "put the book down'.

High recommendation for the suspense and many surprises you don't see coming!
Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a superb treat!

Wow! Just when you think Sheryl Browne's books can't get any better she goes and springs a surprise! The Marriage Trap is absolutely amazing and at the risk of sounding clichéd I could not put it down! As is usual in Sheryl's stories the hero comes in for some pretty awful treatment, this time at the hands of a monster of a father in law; a loathsome individual, a man with no moral scruples.. A complex tale where both husband Jason and his wife Karla are really put through some awful emotional experiences. It's a story which keeps you guessing, fearing worst and wondering how this is going to end. With several twista, of course, all of them quite unexpected. Loved it!

I absolutely loved this . I really enjoyed The babysitter and The Affair so I was really excited to read this and it certainly didn't disappoint . I was hooked from the first page . Karla is happily married to Jason and they have two children . His business is in trouble and they are fighting because he is refusing to take a loan from her wealthy father . We find that he has his own agenda for getting involved and he is a really unpleasant sort . Secrets come out that send both Karla and Jason on a downward spiral and further and further away from each other .
I can't really say anything else as I want to avoid dropping a spoiler but it was thrilling and a real page turner . My only slight complain is that it finished too suddenly for me , I wanted to find out more .Still a fantastic 5 star read for me

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was disappointed in this novel while it promised intrigue and a mind twisting plot all I got was a blinding headache from all the melodrama and accusations. It was slow to pick up and the author drowned the reader in details of Julia and Jason's failed marriage. I was flipping pages just trying to see light at the end of the tunnel. It was nothing but smoke and mirrors.

It’s well documented that Sheryl Browne writes brilliant psychological thrillers based around marriages and families, in ‘The Marriage Trap’ her 4th book I have read this continues as we find ourselves quickly emerged in a marriage break up at the start of the book, it is a VERY powerful and emotive start indeed and sets the scene for what’s to come....and what is to come is why Karla and Jason have reached
this point and why although neither of them want it they have been left with no choice..
You are then taken back 3 months and in detail, clear, concise and engaging the story is explained by different members of the family, there are many reasons why the marriage has ended, to mention any would ruin the book BUT you are teased as to some of the reasons and then WHAM a massive one, that I never saw coming is suddenly there and changes everything!
The book continues as it started, emotive and powerful as you really feel the hurt and anguish these people are going through and I really felt I was there with them experiencing it
There’s a knockout twist at the end, very clever and again didn’t even contemplate it
The characters are as always so well described, physically and emotionally and the style of writing is imo flawless
A book that will stay with me and situations that you hope you never find yourself in
The author writes with real insight re families and marriage and I can only say ‘read it’ you will not be disappointed
10/10 5 Stars

Thank you to NetGalley, Sheryl Browne and Bookouture for an Arc of the marriage trap. First I was excited because I love all thriller books that have to do with marriage gone bad and second I really enjoyed Sheryl's book the babysitter so getting the chance to read an advance copy of this was so exciting. Let me tell you I was very pleased with this book.
Karla watches her husband Jason pack up his clothes and belongings after telling her he is in love with someone else. As he packs up Karla remembers when they were happy before she knew what she knows now but no one knows what Karla will do next only she knows!
This book was exciting and like a roller coaster ride I never wanted to get off of. Another great psychological thriller from Sheryl Brown. There is so much I want to say but I can't say much without giving anything about Karla away. This is a must read thrill!
