Will she learn it and ask to be forgiven. Kyle and Alyssa's relationship grows. Will they make it through the rough patch. Celebrate the coming to Christ as it meant to be. Will Alyssa ask the one person to help give her a solution for her to be with her family and Kyle and help her friend Denise?

What would you do if you were left in charge of the bakery during the holiday season? Well, Katie is and she seems to be seeing someone. Though we learn that she is the only girl in a family of eight. So she got to help once her mother is put on bed rest after surgery.

Henry has finally has been able to feel up to ask Katie out on a date. Will, he finally asks her or will it be too late? Henry seems to have some issues with his feelings. He is a family friend of Katie and her family.

There seems to be a woman that comes into the bakery and asks Katie if she can get her order and have it ready by Friday. As she was about the work on the order and miss lunch when David comes in take Katie out to dinner. What will she do?

It seems things get more interesting as the story goes on. What happens between Katie and David? What will happen between Claire and Henry? Katie's brother Jonas stops by as well. What will happen when Katie takes the new oven gift from David?

The woman seems to have ordered twelve loaves of bread. What she does with them. You will be surprised. Katie seems to want her wood ovens after trying it and some mishaps. This woman seems to give Katie a loaf of bread.

The woman talks about the number of twelve. There seem to be quite a few things in the bible the number twelve. She just says the lord was to give it to her and that she calls the bread “Loaves of Love” and then leaves the bakery. You will not believe how it ends when Katie sees another loaf of bread on the counter?

Mattie's aunt Caroline and her Uncle Atlee get some unexpected news. They are shocked by the news. I do not want to give away the ending to either of the couples mentioned. Is Lizzy more mean and curl and why?

This book of novellas is by four of my favorite authors of Amish fiction. Every story was super sweet, takes place around Christmas and in bakeries. Normally I don't read novellas because I prefer full length books but sometimes around Christmas this is what I have time to read. If you have an afternoon or two to sit and relax, I'd definitely recommend reading this sweet book of Amish romances.

The four stories in this delightful book are set around a bakery. Each story is filled with wonderful characters who experience faith, love, hope and family. Join the authors on a journey during a holiday that brings laughter, joy and unconditional love.

Cookies and Cheer by Amy Clipston

I loved the excitement Alyssa had as she decides how to decorate the big display window in the bakery. Christmas was coming soon and she wanted a display that would bless everyone. Her idea was wonderful and I enjoyed learning about cookie cutters. The hard work that Kyle puts in to make just the right cookie cutters was heartwarming. Who knew how much attention his designs would get? As you read the story, get ready to find the urge to rush to the store. You will be wanting to buy every cookie cutter available. Feelings get hurt as Alyssa is more focused on the bakery than her family. It is a good lesson in forgiveness.

Loaves of Love by Beth Wiseman

Oh my what a wonderful story this was. I loved Katie and how she stepped up in her family's bakery. With her mother recovering from surgery Katie is left alone to run the bakery. The bakery has always had wonderful reviews from customers and the wooden stove Katie uses to bake with is the secret to their success. I was overwhelmed with Katie as she continued to get orders in. She is juggling trying to meet deadlines and having a young man interested in her.

David means well, but is kinda pushy. He seems to put Katie down a little as her district is more strict than his. When Katie makes a decision that goes against her beliefs , will it cause the bakery to lose customers? Henry has always been a steadfast friend and wants to express his feelings. He is not sure if Katie feels the same, but he still is the one person she can count on. I loved how the author shows the commitment Henry has for Katie and goes out of his way to try to help her.

The story is one that will remind readers how important tradition is and what happens when you try to cut corners. Henry was my favorite character because of his integrity. Family and believing in yourself is a wonderful theme throughout the story. Don't miss the special message tucked in the story about the woman and the loaves of bread.

Melting Hearts by Kathleen Fuller

Mattie has come to help her aunt at the bakery when employees leave unexpectedly. Christmastime is especially busy at the bakery and Mattie is glad to help. She loves baking and fits right in as she helps her aunt out. Everything is going well until her uncle announces someone is coming to help him with the expansion of the bakery. Just hearing the name Peter sends Mattie into a bad mood. There is animosity between the two and now they are stuck seeing each other for the next several weeks. I did chuckle at Mattie because she is very stubborn when it comes to forgiving Peter. She says she will forgive him later, but we all know God wants us to forgive quickly.

There are a few surprises in the story which I loved. Isn't it just like God to show up and bless you when you least expect it. Katie's aunt and uncle have their hands full and I think they are in shock about news they receive. The story is a wonderful example of true friendship. It is easy to not like someone when your best friend tells you how they were treated badly . Katie will learn a hard lesson in friendship and trust. God wants us to love each other and to always be kind.

Peter is a nice character who has gotten a bad reputation thanks to Katie's friend. As they say "actions speak louder than words." Peter has his work cut out for him to get Katie to see the real him. Rumors hurt and cause people to judge others .In this story you will find a lesson on friendship, trust and forgiveness.

Cakes and Kisses by Kelly Irvin

Ambrose is a sweet character. Some may call him simple minded, but I think he is just the kind of person we all want to be. He forgives easily and always looks for the good in everyone. When he is bullied by high school boys, he turns the other cheek. I loved how the author took a character like Ambrose and showed how he could do things like everyone else. His qualities are God given and
Martha just might be interested in him.

Martha is a gifted baker and has the opportunity to design and bake a special wedding cake for Christmas. It will be profitable for the bakery and Martha will be able to use her skills to make the perfect cake for the wedding. She is bothered by the way Ambrose is treated by some and tries to help him when he is tripped on his way out of the store one day. Instantly I could feel chemistry between them. I couldn't wait to find out how their relationship develops.

Ambrose gets a big shock when his cousin comes to the farm with news . I felt sorry for Ambrose as he feels like no one thinks he can do things like run a farm on his own. Joshua has come to be part of running the farm, but I didn't like his attitude towards Ambrose. Joshua is someone to watch out for and with friends looking out for Ambrose, Joshua will be watched carefully.

I loved this story because it shows how important friendship is and gave Ambrose confidence he needed to be more open with Martha. Her friendship is refreshing and I liked how she never thought of Ambrose as lacking intelligence. It is a beautiful story filled with friendship, acceptance and unconditional love.

I received a copy of this book from the authors. The review is my own opinion.

Author(s): Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, Kelly Irvin

Format: eBook; Netgalley

Published: October 1, 2019

Pages: 416

Summary: Cookies and Cheer by Amy Clipston

Alyssa Byler wants to build a sugar cookie nativity scene for her bakery’s Christmas window display—all she needs is the right cookie cutters. She turns to handsome blacksmith Kyle Smoker. Using Kyle’s handmade cutters, Alyssa created a striking display that brings more customers than she can handle. She soon realizes she’s been too busy to focus on the true meaning of Christmas—and too distracted to explore her feelings for Kyle. Together, they put aside the holiday rush to celebrate the season that brought them together.

Loaves of Love by Beth Wiseman

Katie Swartzentruber has been left in charge of her family’s bakery, but she soon finds herself overwhelmed with orders during the holiday season. She is tempted to move her Old Order family into the modern world by using propane ovens. Meanwhile, her childhood friend Henry Hershberger is trying to find the courage to tell Katie that he’s harbored a secret crush on Katie for years. As the demands at the bakery intensify, both Katie and Henry must find the courage to go after what’s important.

Melting Hearts by Kathleen Fuller

When her aunt Carolyn begs for help during the busy Christmas rush, Mattie Shetler eagerly packs her bags and heads to Birch Creek. She doesn’t know her uncle has also asked for help with the bakery’s new expansion from Peter Kaufman, Mattie’s sworn enemy. As the two work together, Mattie discovers not all is as it seems. With Christmas just around the corner, Mattie and Peter open their hearts for the greatest gifts of the season: forgiveness and maybe even love.

Cakes and Kisses by Kelly Irvin

Martha Ropp works hard at her family’s bakery, making cakes and pies for community celebrations. To help during the busy Christmas season, Martha’s mother hires Ambrose Hershberger to make deliveries. Martha remembers Ambrose as a gentle giant from her school days. But the more they work together, the more they want to spend time together outside of the bakery. When both are too timid to make the first move, the town matchmakers step in. (from Goodreads)

Rating: 5/5 stars

Review: This book is a book of novellas by the 4 authors listed above each set around a bakery.

In all four novellas the writing was clear and concise. Each author told the story in a way the reader would love.

I loved each and everyone of these stories. I found myself rooting for the characters to find their happy ending.

I have read most of Amy Clipston’s novels/novellas as well as the other 3 (however it is only novellas that have read by the other three. I have yet to read a full length novel by Fuller, Wiseman, and Irvin). Fuller, Wiseman and Irvin are all on my HUGE Want to Read list on Goodreads.

I cannot wait to read more by these authors and I would highly recommend each one to any reader who reads Amish/Inspirational fiction. Each author is fantastic in their own way. Again I would highly recommend this book or any book by these 4 authors. They are all amazing!

Be Kind and Happy Reading!

Merry Christmas, everyone! Okay, I might be a little early, but I guarantee if you read these stories, you will feel like celebrating early!

This book contains four stories: Cookies and Cheer by Amy Clipston, Loaves of Love by Beth Wiseman, Melting Hearts by Kathleen Fuller and Cakes and Kisses by Kelly Irvin.

In Cookies and Cheer, Alyssa is looking forward to Christmas. Working in a bakery with her sister is very enjoyable for Alyssa and she's excited to be planning another festive window display for the bake shop. Everyone else is looking forward to Alyssa's Christmas display. She did such a good job on the Thanksgiving one so people are excited to see what design she comes up with.

Meanwhile, the very handsome Kyle Smoker is showing interest in Alyssa and she couldn't be happier. She can't believe her good fortune and is looking forward to the Christmas season. With Kyle's help, a beautiful window for the bakery is designed. However, will it bring more that Alyssa can handle? Will the holiday be ruined? Find out in Cookies and Cheer.

******************************************************************************In Loaves of Love, Katie and Henry have been friends all their lives. They have a special bond and even share the same birthday. Katie has hoped for years that Henry will ask her out and take their friendship to the next level. But, Henry has been too nervous to ever ask her out. When he finally gets up the nerve, will he be too late? Katie seems to be getting involved with David. David lives in a more modern Amish community and attempts to get Katie to see that his way of life is easier.

Katie IS busy running her family's bakery during the holiday and has more on her plate than usual, so maybe David's ways DO make things simpler. Is David right for her? Henry's sister seems to think Henry be able to find love with the lovely Clara. Will this help him push his feelings for Katie away? Read Loaves of Love to cheer for your favorite couples!

******************************************************************************
Melting Hearts by Kathleen Fuller is all about Mattie who travels to another town to help her Aunt Carolyn with her bakery during the Christmas rush. However, her uncle is building an extension onto the bakery and asks Peter to help. Mattie harbors bad feelings to Peter because he used to date her friend Lizzy and "broke her heart." Maybe the whole truth hasn't been told and Mattie and Peter can uncover a way to work side by side by side.

******************************************************************************
Cakes and Kisses is by Kelly Irvin and features a man named Ambrose who has some difficulties. But Martha doesn't see him that way. She sees a kind, loving, helpful man and despises the way some treat him. Ambrose is actually more loved than he realizes, by Martha and his close friends and family. He needs to find a way to overcome his insecurities and look around before he misses out. On top of that, a cousin comes to take over half the farm where Ambrose lives and works with his aunt. Will Ambrose overcome his challenges and find Christmas joy? Take a relaxing break with Cakes and Kisses and discover for yourself.

I thoroughly enjoyed these four short stories in this collection. All the authors really make their characters become real and pop off the page. The only thing for was that all four stories involved bakeries and a LOT of talk of Christmas treats and that just made me hungry! I am just joking but I think they did such a wonderful job with describing the bakeries, the treats, the Christmas season and the real reason for the holiday. If you love Christmas like me, you'll love diving into these stories early to get ready for Christmas!

I haven't even started any Fall baking yet let alone Christmas baking but after reading these four baking filled stories I am encouraged to start doing some. Muffins, cookies, cinnamon buns with the wind howling outside and the leaves kicking up what could be a better way to spend the day?
Baking and romance with faith filled stories that are very encouraging the authors in this novella write four stories I will read time and again just for the good feeling they give me.
I look forward to reading about these well developed characters in other books the authors write.

Expected publication: October 1st 2019 by Zondervan.

An Amish Christmas Bakery by Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kelly Irvin and Kathleen Fuller contains four Amish Christmas stories filed with joy, hope, faith, and love. I thought they were all well-written with steady pacing and relatable characters. I enjoyed reading each of the four tales. While the stories are cohesive (bakery theme), each novella has the authors distinctive writing voice. Cookies and Cheer was such a sweet story with the sugar cookie nativity scene (sounds lovely). I liked the characters and the moral of the story (the true meaning of Christmas). It has Amy Clipston’s engaging writing which made Cookies and Cheer a pleasure to read. Each novella has a life lesson, Christmas cheer and romance. In Melting Hearts, we see the importance of forgiveness. I could relate to Martha Ropp in Cakes and Kisses with her severe migraines (poor thing). My favorite phrases came from Cakes and Kisses. It is “We are all the same in God’s eyes.” Wouldn’t the world be a different place if everyone viewed individual’s in this manner! Each of these stories will have you smiling and sometimes laughing. An Amish Christmas Bakery contains four heartwarming novellas with mouthwatering baked goods, the true meaning of Christmas, good friends, and tender romance.

An Amish Christmas Bakery is a collection of four stories by Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller and Kelly Irvin. All four stories are set in Amish country and tell delightful Christmas tales of bakeries, love and Christmas!

In Cookies and Cheer by Amy Clipston we meet Alyssa who's knack for drawing in customers with her creative Christmas displays almost has the bakery overrun with orders. She must figure out a way to not only satisfy her customers but her family and new man in her life. There just isn't enough hours in the day and she hopes she can handle it all without leaving someone out in the cold.

The second story is Loaves of Love by Beth Wiseman. This sweet story is about Katie, who is left to run the family business while her mother recuperates. The popular bakery is well known for offering the best tasting bread because of it's old-fashioned cooking style. Katie believes if she modernizes a bit she can keep up with demand but then the modernization may ruin the unique product and drive customers away. Meanwhile, her childhood friend would like to explore a romantic relationship but they never seem to be in sync when it comes to romance.

In Melting Hearts by Kathleen Fuller, Mattie travels from home to help her aunt run her bakery during the busy holiday season. She has no idea that her uncle has also hired help from her hometown in the form of her sworn enemy, Peter. Now she will be sharing a home with her aunt, uncle and Peter for several weeks and she is not sure she can manage it. By the time Christmas rolls around not only is she having to take on more of he bakery's responsibility but she is starting to wonder if she made a mistake in her judgment of Peter.

Finally, in Cakes and Kisses by Kelly Irvin, Martha is busy making cakes and pies for the upcoming holidays and community weddings. The bakery's hired delivery help is a simple man, but honest and sweet and Martha finds herself very interested. She offers to tutor Ambrose in reading, a subject he has had a lifelong struggle with. The two grow closer but both are very shy and uncertain of allowing themselves to develop a romantic relationship. They may need help from their friends to take that next step.

These four stories are delightful and sure to get the reader into the holiday spirit!

I was provided a copy of this book by the author. My review is an honest opinion and was not a requirement of receiving a copy.

An Amish Christmas Bakery is a lovely collection of four novellas written by Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller and Kelly Irvin.
The first novella is Cookies and Cheer by Amy Clipston. This beautiful story will capture you heart from the very beginning. Alyssa Byler is creative and decides a sugar cookie nativity scene would be perfect in the display widow at the bakery where she works. The owner of the store agrees, so Alyssa decides to set off asking Kyle Smoker, a blacksmith if he can help. Alyssa and Kyle's friendship blossom as the story unfolds. This sweet story is a true delight!
Loaves of Love by Beth Wiseman is the second story in this book. Katie Swartzentruber is now in charge of her family owned bakery since her mother is recovering from surgery. She and Henry Hershberger have always been friends, but can their friendship develop into anything more? Can Katie handle the holiday rush at the bakery and decide if her heart truly belongs to David, her current boyfriend, or Henry, her childhood friend?
The third novella in the collection is Melting Hearts by Kathleen Fuller. Mattie Shelter is excited to travel and help her aunt out at her bakery right in time for Christmas. However, Mattie does not realize that Peter Kaufman is also arriving to help her uncle with the bakery's expansion. Can Mattie look beyond the past and call a truce with Peter? A fast-paced beautiful novella!
The final novella, Cakes and Kisses by Kelly Irvin is a sweet story. Martha Ropp works in her family bakery and is a friend to Ambrose Hershberger. Many see Ambrose as slow, but Martha thinks he is indeed very special and she treasures their friendship. Could their friendship turn into anything more beautiful?
An Amish Christmas Bakery makes the perfect Christmas gift for Amish fiction fans! This delightful collection of stories is a real treat!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley and have given my honest opinion.

This was probably one of my favorite anthologies I have ever read. Each of the four stories in this book were all from some of my favorite Amish fiction writers. Each story was as good as the one before it.
Cookies and Cheer by Amy Clipston was wonderful. Alyssa and Kyle must each remember what the Christmas season truly represents again.
Loaves of Love by Beth Wiseman is the next book and also wonderful. Katie must learn that going a bit modern isn’t always what is best.
Melting Hearts by Kathleen Fuller is fantastic. Both Mattie and Peter learn that not all “friends” tell the truth.
Cakes and Kissed by Kelly Irvin was one that made me laugh and cry. Martha and Ambrose learn that differences don’t always matter.
These were all fantastic Amish stories.
I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

An Amish Christmas Bakery: Four Stories is a charming novella collection with delightfully festive stories written by authors Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Irvin. Set in four different Amish communities during the Christmas season, this book includes stories in which the ovens of Amish bakeries help to create a warm atmosphere where faith can grow, friendships can be nurtured, and romance can be kindled.
Cleverly woven together through the holiday bakery settings and the themes of service, family, friendships, and Christmas traditions, these novellas are truly engaging, meaningful, and entertaining. Each of the novellas in this collection includes an endearing set of characters who strive to serve and bless others as they also search for significance, forgiveness, healing, and hope. There is an effortless cadence from one novella to the next as the four distinctive stories all highlight the importance of family, the value of friendship, the power of faith, and the importance of perseverance.
Within the pages of each novella, I sincerely enjoyed the captivating stories these authors composed. I easily became invested in the plot of each novella while experiencing authentic emotional connections to the characters within each story. Their insecurities, inclinations, determination, and faith held my interest and encouraged me story after story.
An Amish Christmas Bakery is certainly a book with an abundance of heart, tenderness, and Christmas cheer. The novellas it contains are wholly uplifting, worthwhile, and thoughtful. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

What a wonderful, heart warming set of Christmas stories. I enjoyed them all. Each story takes place in a bakery, giving them a wonderful theme throughout all four books.

The characters are the kind that, as a reader, you fall in love with. Less than perfect but with hearts to follow God, they feel genuine.

Being set in a bakery, this will really get you in the mood for Christmas as each author describes the wonderful fresh products and the smells that draw you in. I’m ready to bake!

Don’t get the idea, however, that each story is the same. From Clipston’s book about taking on too much and losing the meaning of Christmas, Wiseman’s story is the struggle to be more modern, Fuller’s character has the feeling like someone is an enemy, and Irvin’s Ambrose who is different than others, the authors put their unique brand on their story.

If you enjoy Amish fiction with a Christmas theme then you will love this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

I was so excited to read this book because of the familiarity we have with all of the authors that collaborated in An Amish Christmas Bakery. When reading all of the stories, you can't help but feel like you are transported to all of the bakeries smelling all the delicious desserts baking and fell so warm and cozy ready for the holiday season. Also a spoonful of love does not hurt either and everything just warms your heart, and counts your blessings that you have giving hope for a wonderful holiday season. This book made me excited to see what the holiday will bring and I know our community will be wanting to read this book too since Christian Fiction is very popular in our library.

We will consider adding this title to our Christian Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

An Amish Christmas Bakery has four wonderful stories about finding love at Christmas, which just happens to be my favorite time of year! The four authors, Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Irvin, do a great job, as always, of keeping you entranced. Each story is delightful and will bring smiles and laughter to you as you read.
In Clipston's story, Cookies and Cheer, Alyssa wants to create a nativity window display at the bakery where she works that is made of Christmas cookies. To do this, she needs cookie cutters specially made. She asks the local blacksmith, Kyle, for help and he creates them for her. Alyssa and Kyle begin to see each other more, but the stress of the holiday rush at the bakery makes it hard for Alyssa to do everything she needs to do, including all of her families Christmas traditions. Will she remember what Christmas is all about? And will she and Kyle find new blessings during the Christmas season?
Wiseman brings Loaves of Love. This story follows Katie, who has been left in charge of her family's old order Amish bakery for the holidays while her mother is on bed rest. Unable to keep up with the rush, she finds herself longing for ways to make her job easier. She also longs for Henry, her long time friend, to realize that she wants more than friendship from him. Henry, meanwhile, only wants to be with Katie but is worried she doesn't care for him that way. Will the two of them find each other in time for a Christmas miracle?
In Melting Hearts, Fuller takes us back to Birch Creek. Atlee and Carolyn, who we met in An Amish Homecoming, need assistance at their bakery. Little do they know that the two people they bring aboard, Peter and Mattie, secretly loathe each other. There are too many misunderstandings from their past. But can the season of Christmas and giving bring them together?
Finally, in Cakes and Kisses, Irvin reminds us that everyone deserves love. Martha is still reeling from the loss of her mother and trying to help her grieving family. Ambrose is a simple man with a great love for all things. When the two of them start to spend time together, they may just find that God works in beautiful ways for His faithful children.
I adored all of these stories! I always do, of course. Each one made me smile. I love reading the anthologies because it is so great to see different stories come together and see the many ways that we are blessed, both by God and those He places in our path to love.
I would definitely recommend this book. And, if you haven't yet, you should check out the other books by these authors. They will warm your heart and bring a smile to your face. I received a free copy of this story from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
