I love Christmas stories, and this book, though I finished it after the holidays, was just the kind of light-hearted read to get one in the spirit of Christmas. Liz aches to own a bed and breakfast like her grandparents, and her dream seems to come true when the very property where they lived comes up for sale. Her dream quickly becomes a nightmare, however, when she realizes the extent of reconstruction needed. She's not used to small town living, though, and the characters who come together in this small town are reminiscent of a Hallmark movie. Delightfully written, with believable characters and just enough of a could-be love triangle to keep the reader interested, this book is a must read for anyone needing to believe that miracles really do still happen.

Christmas Angels is a great feel good book. Liz leaves the big city to buy a fixer upper inn from her childhood. This is where she meets Matt, from her childhood. With a few twists and turns Liz and Matt hook up and create the perfect Hallmark movie. Special thanks to Netgalley for giving me an opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a great "feel good" book. The story line is very well written and the characters are wonderful together with a lot of chemistry between them. I look forward to Nancy Naigle's next book.

Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there she finds the property in significant disrepair. When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn't another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories. While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance—that restoring the inn is what she's meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt—and the residents of Antler Creek—be able to show Liz that she's found a home? And possibly true love as well?
This was a good book. The story was well paced and perfect for the holiday season. It felt like a story I’d watch on the hallmark channel! I recommend.

I’m a huge Nancy Naigle fan and couldn’t wait to read her latest novel and it was everything I anticipated and more. It gives you all the Hallmark Christmas feels. A heartwarming story that takes you to the mountains and makes you wish you were sitting near the fire along with the characters. You immediately feel like you know the world she’s created and smile as you watch a sweet romance develop between Liz and Matt.

Oh, I'm a sucker for a "fixer upper in a small town" story and this one was just magical for me. I loved the transformation of the inn and the family history behind Liz's motivations. The romance was so sweet and touching too. A definite holiday win for me!

Christmas Angels was a heartwarming holiday novel! I enjoyed the small town theme and the magical holiday tone. Liz bids on the Inn that her grandparents used to own. She has fond memories of the days spent there in the summer and during the holidays. When she actually sees the house after she wins the auction, she is surprised to see what was done to the place. As she settles in to her new home, she gets to know the people who live in the town. She attempts to get everything fixed up but worries that it is all too much to do. But she doesn't know that there are many surprises ahead for her!

Nancy Naigle's book Christmas Angels is a wonderful novel for the season. It's light and warm and with all-over positive feel. The characters are very likable the story plot flow smoothly. This is the first book I have read by Naigle but certainly won't be my last. Fans of Debbie MacComber, Jenny Hale and Denise Hunter will love her!

Sugary sweet with 5 seconds of drama sprinkled super lightly over the entire story. What a world to live in where everything is easy, magical and perfect.

Spoiler Alert:
Smart, hardworking Liz has saved all of her money for this day when she finally gets the opportunity to buy her grandparents Inn. She meets the perfect guy and they have a lot of G rated fun and live happily ever after. The end.

I read this book because I was sent a widget through NetGalley it sounded light and fluffy and I figured why not?! I love myself a good Christmas Hallmark movie so why not a book that repeatedly talks about watching Hallmark movies (LOL). The story was great, it was refreshing reading about a small town where everyone is friendly and willing to lend a helping hand. I mean... no one judged anyone not even the family that was going through a real crisis and just passing through. I need to find that town and move there. Except I don't like snow. The problem was there was nothing more to the story. It was just a really nice story. There wasn't any REAL obstacles or drama (again, can be refreshing) but it was all sort of too easy. They hinted at Liz's divorce. They had this weird brother guy try to be a jerk (it wasn't very believable though). The male lead did everything I'm always shouting at the tv that they should do... just tell the truth! Tell her now, don't wait! etc. He actually does it and basically he's perfect so of course she'll have to doubt everything (also not believable) and then the drama is over and the end.

I gave this book a 4 star rating because it is funny and entertaining. It's just too much fluff for me.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is a holiday contemporary romance that would make a perfect Hallmark Christmas movie. This heartwarming and sweet story takes place in a charming small town and includes plenty of Christmas elements to bring the season to life.

As a child Liz Westmoreland had spent a lot of time visiting her grandparents in the small mountain town of Antler Creek where they owned an Inn. While Liz was growing up those visits were the favorite parts of her childhood and as she got older it became her dream to one day own and operate the Inn herself.

After years of saving Liz one night stumbles on an auction ending the next day of the property her grandparents had owned before passing. Taking a leap of faith Liz manages to win the auction but when she arrives in Antler Creek the state of the Inn worries her until the meets Matt Hardy who agrees to help Liz begin renovations.

Christmas Angels had everything I could wish for all wrapped into this wonderful Christmas story. The lovely small town was full of excellent secondary characters that all cared for one another and welcomed Liz with open arms. The romance was one that had a background to build upon and took it’s time building. There were fun activities, cute kids, a lovable dog with everyone coming together for the holiday, a bundle of fun from start to finish.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle would make the perfect Hallmark Christmas movie. The whole time I was reading it, I kept picturing it as if it were. Imagine going on a home auction site and being surprised to see your grandparents inn available the next day. This is an inn you visited multiple times while growing up and you have always dreamed of buying it and being the innkeeper, ever since they sold it and eventually passed. This is exactly how this book begins and what follows is the story of Liz and her adventures in beginning to restore “Angels Rest”to its previous grandeur. I had a smile on my face from start to finish reading this sweet Christmas story.

Interesting holiday romance. The setting is inviting and the characters are very loveable. While the plot is somewhat predictable, as are most holiday romances, it in no way detracts from the enjoyment of the book. Nancy Naigle is a wonderful storyteller. Another Hallmark movie perhaps?

A Hallmark Channel Christmas movie ready to be made. It had all the cheese, all the small town quirks and feels, and of course the two single nice people falling in love.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle was a comfy cozy read that I enjoyed, especially since I was reading it during the holiday season. If you like the Hallmark Station, you will love this book. Liz buys a piece of property in Antler Creek that used to be the B&B owned by her grandparents. She used to spend summers there as a little girl and wanted to relive those memories again. The problem is, she bought the property sight unseen and when she arrived there, found that the building and property were in need of a lot of repair. Was she going to be able to renovate this building or will she have to demolish it?
This book will show you what Liz’s determination will accomplish with the help of Matt, a friend who had a crush on her when she was visiting her grandparents. The part of the book that I actually loved the most was how the townspeople were so welcoming and how they came together to help anyone in need.

Elvis is everything and has my whole heart and deserves ALL the treats.

Ahem. Moving on. While I found the idea of a project management type person dropping everything and buying a property unseen highly unlikely, it worked for the story and wasn't so ridiculous that I couldn't get behind it. I loved Antler Creek. I loved the angels. I love Elvis so much. Super sweet holiday romance.

Another book about taking over an inn. It was a cute read and it was a nice way to end my holiday reading.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is as a super cute Christmas story that gave me all the Hallmark Christmas vibes. Liz Westmoreland is back in Angels Creek, and she has taken on restoring her grandparent’s old inn. Matt Hardy is a friend from her childhood, and helping her restore the inn.
I love a good childhood friends story, and this one was the cutest. Matt remembers Liz from childhood and immediately feels drawn to her. It take a little longer for Liz to warm up and open up to him. This is definitely a slow burn non steamy romance, but I found the pace of their relationship to be so sweet. And the town and it’s members were so endearing. If you are looking for a book with all the Christmas cheer, check this one out!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Naigle, Nancy. Christmas Angels. New York: St. Martin’s Publishing Group, 2019.

Christmas Angels is a sweet clean romance. I love Nancy Naigle’s concept – a hard working gal with experience of opening new stores on time and under budget, finds her grandparents former inn on an auction, and rebuilds it and falls in love in the process. The story is well-written and the characters are well developed. There are enough loose ends at the end of the story to make me hope for a sequel.

Unfortunately Christmas Angels is not appropriate for all audiences.

Potential Area of Concern

There are several instances of heck, hell, and damn. There are also several instances of drinking wine or beer which may cause a problem for some audiences.

If it weren’t for these areas of concern I would have not a problem placing this book in my library because it is a sweet clean romance. However, due to these concerns Christmas Angels is not appropriate for my k-12 Christian school library.

I want to thank JustRead Publicity Tours for the complementary e-copy of Christmas Angels. This is my honest review.

Looking for a super cute and light holiday read? Reading Christmas Angels was like reading a Hallmark or Netflix original Christmas movie. Now before you get the wrong impression (because we know these movies can sometimes be extremely cheesy), this was like one of your FAVORITE Hallmark Christmas movies. It was charming and light and authentic.

When Liz stumbles upon her grandparent's old bed and breakfast going up for auction, she takes the opportunity to complete one of her life dreams. Owning the B&B and living in the quaint little town of Antler's Creek. But when she discovers that the home has been essentially gutted and destroyed, the only thing to do is try to restore it to it's original glory.

Along the way there is a man. Because there's always got to be a love story in these types of things.

Was it the most original story? No. Was it a story that requires deep thinking? No. But was it the perfect light read to make you smile during the holidays? Yes.

If you find yourself hung over from some emotionally draining novel or a book that feels heavy and you're looking for pure joy and happiness, here you go.
