Great story! Very cute.
I would recommend this book to a friend.
Mariah writes a funny romance.
I would read another one of her stories.

Pru is a part owner of a very successful wedding planning business. She runs the business with her two roommates and good friends. She lost her family at a young age and only has her roommates and best friend Finn now. Love is not in the cards for Pru and she has a plan in place. A plan to have a family the medical way, artificial insemination. Her doctor says she will need to start soon, so it is time to put the plan in motion.
Finn is a hot as sin fireman. Having such a dangerous job really puts his dating life in perspective. How could he put anyone through the worry or possible loss of his life. He can’t and that is why he has the one date rule. His dates never go beyond two dates. But is that the real reason behind his rule???
Pru meets up with her bestie to tell him her plans to start looking for donor to have a baby. Finn tries to be happy for her, but something inside him does not feel the happiness front that he puts on for Pru. So what does he do…he buys shots. That fateful night of celebrating brings upon a chain of events that neither of them could ever imagine.
Pru and Finn are in for a new adventure. Her well laid out plans are changing frequently and nothing is working according to her plan. Everything is changing rapidly and Pru is not sure that her friendship will survive. Especially with all the new surprises.
I loved this story. It was a fun and loving story. I really enjoyed the fireman aspect of it, because let’s face it, firemen are just hot as sin!!! The dynamics of Finn and Pru are fun and exciting. These two people who have souls that complete one another. They just click in that way that two people do when they have that soul shattering connection. Watching their story play out was not only fun, but amazing.
This book truly had it all, fun, family, friendship, sadness, happiness and love by the boatloads. It was such e..a fun yet beautiful read. I fell in love with the characters immediately and dove right into the story. I really love best friends to lovers romance novels. They are such fun reading about characters that are so perfect for each other, yet fight the attraction and love so forcefully. It always makes for a entertaining and fun read.
If you love snarky fun with a dose of happily ever after and a side of tears, then this book is right up your ally. So pick up your copy today. This rom-com is sure to make you fall in love.

This was cute, although a little predictable. I love best friend to lovers stories, plus throw in a not so expected pregnancy, Whew! Th'at's hitting two birds with one stone for me!
I really enjoyed Pru and Finn's story, I love how adorable Pru's relationship with Finn was, as well as her besties! That was such a wonderful thing to see.
This was a very quick and light read for me, and I didn't end up disappointed. While it didn't wow me, I was truly entertained to read this. I'm interested to read more from the author as well.

Sweet and fun romance to brighten your day. When you meet Finn and Pru, as friends, the only thing running through your mind is they have to end up together in love. Pru is not tied down to anyone yet she is ready to take on the mommy role. While on her journey of finding the right "sperm", someone too hot to handle as in front of her this whole time. No spoilers in this review, but a heart felt, entertaining read.

This is basically my favorite romance genre ever - best friends turned lovers and a pregnancy thrown into the mix.
Prudence always wanted a family and her best friend Finn did not because of his job as a firefighter. Turns out though they are both getting more than they thought.
The chemistry for me was very real and Finn is just every womans fantasy all rolled into one perfect package. I look forward to reading about the two other friends.

This author is great I loved this story the characters are great and built up well the romance was sweet and swoony my favorite! A quick weekend read

This was a light read with a feel good, happy ever after, and would make the perfect beach read. It was something that you could just enjoy and not think too hard about. I say that as both a positive and a negative. It provided me cute (if somewhat predictable) main characters: a sweet, sexy fireman, and a control-freak who learns that sometimes life has its own plans. It had wonderful best friends, and a friends-to-lovers trope that is always enjoyable. On the flip side, it also provided me with a pretty predictable story which somewhat prevented me from loving this book. I think I may be overly hard on The Best Friend Problem because I have been through a period where I’ve gotten lucky on well researched, intricately plotted stories that have swept over the span of a lifetime. They’ve created entire worlds that seem real enough for me to touch and envision these people as living, breathing creatures. With this book, I’ve gotten two dimensional characters that only exist in the settings in which they are described. They don’t live on when I close the book, and I want that! I want backstories that are more realistic. I also want explanations for things that the storyline hinges upon. For example, why did Pru need to go through IVF if she wanted a baby? I was told that she risked not being able to get pregnant later, but since she was only 28 I felt I was owed an explanation for this crucial plot tool that never came.
Finally, I wanted situations that felt more complex than those I got. Pru’s best friends were cute and sweet. But they were caricatures. One is the control freak, one the free spirit. Pru, the eternal mom with plans and lists, rounded out the trio. She wanted to manage every situation according to plan, and when she couldn’t, she panicked. So much so that when she becomes pregnant by her best friend, Finn, she can’t seem to transition from her original plan of using a sperm donor. Finn essentially became the sperm donor in the way she treated him, with the babies always being hers, never theirs. I found this to be convenient and somewhat naïve.
As I said, I may be unduly hard on The Best Friend Problem, because for what it was, it was sweet. It was a cute, light, enjoyable read. I just wish there was more substance.

This is my first time reading this author. I really enjoyed this book! Great character building. I recommend this one!!

I'm a sucker for a good friends to lovers story. Finn and Pru are just the best of them. These two have that steamy night and tah dah....pregnancy.
I enjoyed these two, them trying to figure out their way and realizing how they belong together. No big drama, sweet couple who deserve to be together. I enjoyed it very much.

This book was fun, an easy read and relaxing to read. The storyline was great, the characters real and the romance sweet.

This is my first book by Mariah Ankenman and it was pretty good. Of course like many romance books it’s totally predictable but really sweet. I am too a mother of twins so I loved that touch. I’ll just say I want to do Finn too!

Ahhhhhh this book was just so good. I just couldn't get enough of it. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book! I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to follow along with more stories from the author.

Such a cute love story! I loved Pru and Finn. They were adorable!
Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Cute story. Went quick because the story flowed easy. Definitely one to enjoy on a weekend. Add it to your list.

Dont they say life is what happens while you're making other plans? The heroine of The Best Friend Problem is a complex control freak. The hero is a layered all American guy. Mariah Ankenman offers readers a light, sexy best friends to lovers to...... ?parents? !!! trope. This novel is predictable yes, but that is sometimes why I choose romances. The happily ever after is satisfactory and I was entertained. I would read more from Mariah Ankenman. 3.5
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

Really adored this fun friends to oh my so much more romance with an unexpected baby twist.... was so fun to read this emotional roller-coaster of a journey. I laughed so hard people where eyeing me funny (maybe I should stop reading in Dr office waiting rooms.... oh well) Excellent summer reading experience!

Baby..That is all Prudence Carlson wants and boy does Mariah Ankenman show us that a baby can well do a lot of things. She has always had her bad luck of men but one man has always been her constant. Finn has been her rock through everything and now with her having a baby he is definitely more than her rock right. What I loved about these two is how easy their friendship is but are blind to each othe when it comes to how much in love they really are for each other. Mariah Ankenman shows us that no matter how much planning you do it is it the unexpected that makes life and having kids really fun. Pru is all about being organized and the one with the good head on her shoulders but it takes a risk taking man like Finn to show her that life is not all about planning. The chemistry between them is more than what they thought possible but when it comes to having a baby together is where they shine the most. All in all it was fun to read about these two and seeing their friends guiding them and supporting them was also a hoot to see. One thing for sure this is not your usual having a baby story but filled with tons of surprises and about tons of love.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."

After way too many mysteries and thrillers this hit the spot
It is nothing new really. You see exactly what’s going on and how this will wrap up but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it’s nice to pick up something that you know will end in a happily ever after after the obligatory push and pull.
The writing and characters were great and the dialogue was sensible and funny. It was smartly written and felt more realistic than some of the other stories I’ve read in this genre. Overall, a sweet and entertaining read that I recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Entangled Publishing, LLC for a copy in exchange for a review.

The Best Friend Problem didn’t exactly wow me at any given point, but I didn’t dislike it either. It was just sort of there …. Other than the author using a unique twist to kick these two into gear about their feelings for each other, there really wasn’t anything that stood out for me.
I’ll be the first to say that this trope is really hard to surprise me with. It’s not exactly underwritten LOL So my feelings on the story could very much be because I’ve just read waaaay too many of these. I think the writing was done well and I didn't have any problems with characterization .. sigh, I just wasn't feeling it *shrug*
