We allready knew basically all that was going to happen in the blurb, espesially the drama bit.
Nothing was suprising. But the story was going too fast for my liking, it was too random insta-love and chemistry.

I’d consider this more of a novella than a full length novel.

What makes this book interesting is the unique setting of the story. There’s a hook up app, rush hour traffic and bathroom tryst. Eventually it evolves to more than just a hook up.

It’s a short, sweet yet intense and steamy story.
I wonder if there’s going to be more.

It just bothers me that our community is so stereotypical. Hook up app (Grindr?) Hooking up 🙄 of course, then the flood of insecurities because one falls for the other. 🤦🏾‍♂️ That's the day and life of the average gay male around the world. Blah blah blah BORING

I can't take this story serious because it was written by a female. I'm guessing it's based off her "opinion" to sound believable but failed. Had it been written by a male, then there would be more understanding.

This is my honest opinion

A short story of a hook up dating app, traffic and sex in coffeeshop bathrooms. I did like the story. The text speak makes me cringe and the misunderstanding part was a bit annoying and so easily fixed. Communication people. Though I suppose it was Gabe’s fears and insecurities. Hope it goes well for the both of them.

This book was fairly average. I liked the setup- the two heroes meet via a hookup app, but that's all they had- hookups in various coffeeshop bathrooms. There was some chemistry, but I can't really see them taking it to anything serious. The drama/misunderstanding could have been avoided with a single frank conversation, and they were both annoying about it.

Well, this one was short and sweet. Like really sweet, and really short – less than 80 pages short. It was definitely one of those books that left me wanting more, but it was still great for a short, sweet summer read.

There was still a lot to like about Bumper to Bumper. Gabe was kind of adorable. He really liked Mark from the start and it caught him off guard. Even when he jumped to the wrong conclusion about Mark, I couldn’t get too aggravated with him.

Mark was sweet too and it was obvious how much he felt for Gabe. I knew that it had to be a misunderstanding – mainly because I just liked these two together so much.

This is one of those books where you don’t really have to read the blurb. Mainly because it pretty much summarizes the whole book. I’m also not sure what the rest of the Cruised series has in store for readers. I’d be happy if we got more from Mark and Gabe, but I’d also be okay with meeting a couple of new characters. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. 😉

An enjoyable short read, focusing on a hook up app encounter. #1 suggests there will be more to follow in what could be a promising series of short stories. Well written short work.

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Gabe is resigned to the ridiculously long journey times due to the heavy traffic on the I-40 on his way to work. Stuck in traffic he decides to check ‘Cruised’ his hookup app despite vowing to stop meaningless encounters. He is intrigued to notice a mysterious new man – SilverFoxxx, is contacting him. Gabe finds himself drawn into messaging him, eagerly waiting for the replies. When SilverFoxxx suggests meeting up Gabe can’t resist. I really enjoyed this ‘novelette’ it was interesting to follow the story building between Gabe & Mark, I love that Gabe was a nice insecure guy in need of something more and Mark appears confident and handsome, too good to be true? I really wanted to know what happens next and hope that is coming soon. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Delicious, delicious!! I was grinning throughout this whole read.

A short story with two of the most engaging men.

Gabe, stuck in traffic, is on a dating app and he gets a message from a guy named Silverfoxxx
The guy has an intriguing way of communication. No dick pics but he uses actually a sentence.

“Mark. You can call me Mark.” Imagine a voice that brings you to your knees!

They talk in traffic the next morning and then they meet in a bathroom.
It’s amazing, sexy and the next day they meet again, before work. Again the sexiest encounter.

Ow gosh, I loved this shorty. It had so much awesomeness in it. I don’t want to go into details but believe it’s a delicious and very plausible story. Gabe his mind gives us a perfect view.
It has humor, it was endearing and had a kind honesty. It was sexy af and I officially want to beg the author for a continuation!! Please!! These men deserve a sequel, I’m sure of the fact they have a story to tell!!

I read this novel through NetGalley in advance of publication in return for an honest appraisal.

This is more of a novella than a novel and tells a very simple story. Gabe sits in traffic jams looking at a gay hook-up website through boredom and meets a man-with-no-photo-called Mark. Though they have sex in toilets at coffee stops they also start to talk and realise that they like each other and discover that there’s more to life than anonymous sex. And that, basically, is it.

Considering the length of the tale, there is quite a lot of description of what they do in the toilets. For me - and this is obviously a personal reaction - I didn’t find it sexy, though no doubt it would have been for them! Other people might find it a turn-on. In my opinion, the gay novels of Anthony McDonald are far sexier, even though the sex scenes don’t necessarily take up so many pages. But it is what it is.

Given the cover photo is of a great-looking black man, I was surprised that no one seemed to identify as black in the story, as that might have added a nuance that would have enhanced the tale.

Gretchen Evans writes well, in a very unemotional, spare no-padding style, and tells the story in a straight-forward way with mainly short sentences and plenty of well-written dialogue, which makes it very easy to read. Even the ending has no baggage; it just stops.

A short, sweet, and hot read - exactly what I wanted. Devoured it in one sitting. Was actually disappointed when it ended; here's hoping for a sequel! Definitely recommended.

I received a digital ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.

This novella is pretty darn cute.

It can be hard to write a short work that feels fully complete in itself, but I think this one does. The first part, where Gabe and Mark flirt via messages during their morning commute after meeting through a hookup app, is fun and sweet. That’s followed by some actual hookups that add some heat. The complication the author introduces into the plot next requires some Olympic-level jumping to conclusions, but I was willing to let that slide because I was enjoying the story. I really liked how she resolved everything and wrapped it up, too.

If you’re looking for a good short read, this one’s definitely worth checking out.

A copy of this book was provided through NetGalley for review; all opinions expressed are my own.

There was so much plot and characterization packed into such a short story. I loved it! It was interesting how Gabe and Mark initially met on the app while stuck in traffic. I liked watching how their relationship developed over the course of a few weeks.
I will never think of cafes the same way again ;P

This was a fun, hot read! I was surprised by how quickly I felt invested in these two. This might be a short novella but there’s a lot of clever characterization built in.

Evans has done a wonderful job of using witty text messages to build a rapport between two strangers. I loved the flirting and the candor of their first tentative teasings.

What this book lacks in length, it more than makes up for in intensity. There’s an instant connection between Gabe and Mark and it doesn’t take long to be cheering them on! I would have happily read another three hundred pages about these two!

The sex is hot and sizzling and well-written. Bravo! Great cover too!
