Steamy story. Sweet. Easy read.
Natalie and Collier... they hooked up while she’s at a rebound bash after a terrible divorce. Their relationship was slam-bam (in all senses); very sudden, unexpected and then they were in a relationship neither planned for. There were nods to both of them having historical issues but they clicked and they jumped into it. Overall sweet story with hot sexy moments that steam up the pages.
Their historical issues were the only major conflict holding them apart. Sure there were job stressors pulling at both of them, but not enough to keep them apart. I kept waiting for a “bad guy” or something big to tear them apart but it didn’t show up. That’s not necessarily a disappointment, just a comment. It means this isn’t an angsty high-feels read, but it’s super cute with good characters and overall easy.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Rules of a Rebound is a notable romance novel. Rules of a Rebound by Nina Crespo is book two in her Breakup Bash series. This novel is a standalone, as are all the books in the series.

Natalie Winters thought she had it all when she met and married Dorian Hall. Just three years later she’s in the process of getting a divorce.

Former security specialist, Rome Collier, is working as a bartender at a popular local club to distance himself from the ghosts of his former career.

Natalie and Rome meet at the club where he works when she attends the club’s popular Breakup Bash event. They immediately begin to trade sexual banter. Attraction and great sex overcome their good sense, and they begin a temporary casual relationship. They both develop feelings for each other but are hesitant to risk beginning a committed relationship. Rome doesn’t want to be Natalie’s rebound guy, and Natalie doesn’t want to jump into a relationship so soon after her divorce. They’ve both broken the “rules” governing rebound relationships. Will they overcome their personal reservations and admit that they could have something meaningful and fulfilling?

The author subtly introduces race but it’s not a part of the story. In fact, it’s so subtle that you might miss it if you aren’t paying close attention. This is an honest and true romance. It’s about relationships on every level. It’s also about emotional growth, forgiveness and self-awareness. This isn’t a book about interracial relationships. It’s a book about relationships, period.

Rules of a Rebound is a beautifully crafted novel. I give it 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to all lovers of romance. There is some explicit sexual content that may be offensive to some readers.

My thanks to Entangled Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Rules of a rebound is my first book by this author and it's probably going to be my last. I thought the concept of this story was very fun and sexy. Rome was a great book boyfriend and the smut was very sexy. However I couldn't connect with Natalie's character. But I believe that is because of the writing style, it's very hard for me to create connections when the book is written in that perspective. Plus I couldn't get past all the unnecessary character development of inconsequential co-workers, friends, etc. This makes the book read as if the story between Rome and Natalie wasn't strong enough to stand on its own without a backfilling the characters. I am giving it 3 chilli peppers because some might be ok skipping full chapters to get to the smut.

I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you!

This story is just as delicious as the cover. I sat down to read this novel and was completely hooked until the very end. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Natalie and Rome and wish the novel could have gone on longer. Be careful of when you decide to sit down and read this steamy novel as you won't be able to put it down until its finished! I can't wait to check out Nina's other novels !

Natalie is a strong confident woman looking for ways to get over her divorce. Rome is bar tending while he gives his body and mind time to recover from an accident. When they meet there is immediate heat and plenty of sparks. They are both skittish and go into a fling putting limits on it. There is plenty of action between the sheets and they have to work through their insecurities to decide if their is more for them.

Rules of Rebound is a quick, light-hearted, insta-love romance. After her divorce was finalized, Natalie went to a break-up bash with her girlfriends to celebrate the start of her single life. What she never expected was an insta-attraction to the handsome bartender, Rome. What started as a one-night stand grew into so much more as they spend more time together due to some situations that arise. Their chemistry was intense and their sexy times were explosive. However, I find that the drama/conflict between Natalie and Rome was a bit dull and the plot lacked surprises and originality. Nonetheless, this is still an enjoyable sexy and fun read.

"She wasn’t interested in a serious relationship, and she didn’t have the bandwidth in her life for a time-consuming fling. Work was her priority."

Natalie was getting over a messy divorce and thought she just wanted a one-night stand, but that same night she came home to a robbery and Rome was there for her when she needed someone. So they agreed on an “extended hookup with benefits” until her burglar alarm was installed. Why didn’t she want that day to happen any time soon?

"No. It wasn’t his place to determine what she needed. That part of his life, protecting others and advising them on how to protect themselves, was over. She shouldn’t be in the house alone. That was why he stayed."

When Rome took Natalie home that night she had found her house had been broken into and her dog was missing. He stayed with her because of the shock of being robbed. Or was it something more?

Natalie and Rome’s sexy and confident personalities work well together and when their vulnerabilties get the best of them, they stumble, but work it out.

Book 2 of the Breakup Bash series can be read as a standalone. It is a sensual and scintillating novel with two strong and lonely people trying to mend and get on with their lives. A fun and sexy read!

Thank you to Ms. Crespo, Entangled Publishing, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to review this book with no expectation of a positive review.

5 Star review of Rules Of A Rebound (Break Up Bash #2) by Nina Crespo

Nina Crespo is a relatively new author to me. Rules Of A Rebound is not a particularly long book but Ms. Crespo certainly kept me entertained. This is Natalie Winters and Rome Collier’s story and what a great story it was.
Natalie is left reeling after a nasty divorce however it hasn’t stopped her from being feisty and determined to move on with her life. Rome is the bartender that lends an ear and a shoulder.
The chemistry between Natalie and Rome off the charts. Rome wants to protect Natalie and he truly is swoon worthy and although it was just supposed to be a hook up the relationship morphs in to so much more for both of them.
I enjoyed the writing which was strong with characters that were easy to relate to and their story was one I quickly became invested in.

This is my first book by Nina Crespo and it did not disappoint. Natalie is newly divorced and not interested in men considering how things ended with her ex husband. Out one night with friends, she runs into Rome a hot as sin bartender with an interesting past. Mutual attraction leads to an incredible hookup that is supposed to end after one night. But low and behold, one night leads to two which leads to more. Along the way, things get complicated and their road to happily ever after hits a few speed bumps but no matter what they find there way back to each other. This is a fantastic, sexy read which I highly recommend.

Rules of a Rebound by Nina Crespo follow the first of this series The First Rule of Hook-ups. With that being said this is an easy stand alone novel. Love and Life has ups and downs, good and bad, but both take courage and trust to look ahead and try to make the most of life. Natalie has resolved herself that her marriage is over; but...when he wants to take Betsy from her that is heart break city. Bar hopping with her two girl friends puts Natalie in a collision course with a relationship that she had not planned on. Rome Colier the handsome but broken bartender has set his goal to keep Natalie and not for a one night stand like she wants. One avenue he can take is through Betsy. Enjoyable light hearted romance. "A copy of this book was provided by Entangled via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." Betsy SAYS ROOF ROOF!!

I really enjoyed this story. Rome and Natalie had off the chart chemistry from the very start and you knew it was going to be more than a one night rebound. I like that they were working together from the very beginning to solve problems and he was there to support her career goals. I do wish they could have had their "deep conversation" in person (no spoilers here!) but LOVED how caring Rome was while still being a tough alpha hero. All in all great story I will read over again!

I received an arc of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I read the first in this series as a paid read, so when I saw this come up for an advance read, I was very excited to be approved. These are the only two books that I have read thus far by this author and I have liked them both. A lot of very big similarities between the two books, however I read the stories far enough apart that it wasn’t as if it was the same story with different names. The characters are very likable and easy to get caught up in, so even if the stories themselves are very much alike, the characters are very different and they are HOT!

I would have rated higher, but in the beginning I had to double check to make sure I wasn’t reading the same book that I had read before. I understand that the series is about three couples who are all coming together at one event, but still felt there could have been more originality in the start of the story. The nice thing however is that each book can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger.

Anyone can make a mistake, and Natalie's biggest mistake, to date, is soon to be in her rear view mirror. Her attendance at Club Escapade Dance Club for their Break Up Bash with best friends Alexa and Cori is a big celebration of her divorce. The bartender is so HOT and they definitely click. I love the way they mesh - the author did a great job of making me feel their connection. For the most part I enjoyed how the story progressed, and I enjoyed the characters and the premise enough to want to read the first book in the Breakup Bash series.

Rules of a Rebound is the second book in Nina Crespo's Breakup Bash series. This book can definitely be read as a standalone - I haven't read the first book and had 0 issues following the story.

Natalie, a recently divorced marketing account manager, and Rome, a former security expert turned bartender, meet while Rome is bartending at Escapade's Breakup Bash. Neither of them want a relationship at first but neither can deny their chemistry. This was a fun, quick read. I really liked all of the characters and liked that the book actually went a little deeper emotionally than I was expecting.

If you are looking for a flirty, quick read then this one is for you. If you have an issue with sex scenes I would avoid because this has quite a few of those! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Oh, hot pocket!!! This was a steamy book. The story started quickly throwing me into a weird situation where the main character happens to be the only person in the packed bar that the bartender thinks is worth his time and of course they have sex right off the bat. If you can get past the quick as F relationship, the story is super intense. The characters are cute and blend well together and the story progresses well. If you want an easy sexy read, this is the book for you.

This was an enjoyable book to read. Natalie was coming off a disastrous marriage and ending up taking on the bartender at a bar. They ended up really enjoying each other and had great chemistry. Rome stepped up and helped her when she needed it withouit expecting anything in return. I loved the way Rome figured out what he wanted and how Natalie's ex-husband finally did something nice.

Rules of a Rebound by Nina Crespo is a very fun and easy read. Perfect for a lazy day. The storyline was entertaining and a bit intriguing. Natalie is a strong independent woman and Rome is ex-military recovering from an injury. They meet at an event for women getting over their exes. Rome was the bartender for the event. There was definitely instant chemistry between the two of them when they meet. Natalie needs to convince Rome that this is more than a rebound. That he's the man she's always wanted and envisioned she'd be with. Rome really wants to protect her but he's dealing with his own insecurities. Together they are able to work through their hangups and show each how great love can be between them. I think this was a sweet easy read and highly recommend this book to fans of romance books.

Natalie thought that she was marrying the man she would have for the rest of her life. What she got was a nightmare in the form of a cheating ex who took out his misgivings and lack of success on her. She never expected that going to a breakup bash would put her in contact with her future. Rome was working the bar as a bartender providing the naughty drinks to women overcoming heartaches. When he makes contact with Natalie, sparks are flying and he hasn't spoken to her yet. Is she the woman that will change his life and bring him some comfort for all that he lost? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This is my first book by the author and it will not be my last. I loved it! I wasn't sure if it was going to be a sweet love story or a steamy romance. It struck a chord with a perfect balance. The characters are great, I really love Rome. Natalie was fun to see come into her own. I want to see more of the other characters so I will definitely be looking for their stories.
