Good, short reads that are nice when you don't want to get involved in a lengthy novel. I was very happy to read Derek St. John's story. Good book!

Lynette Easton delivers a thrillingly suspenseful collection of four novellas wrapped around crime in the small town of Tanner Hollow, North Carolina. Readers preferring an inspirational spin to their books will appreciate the biblical references and simple romances gently woven into the stories. Each novella is very loosely connected to the others through characters who are related. However, the novellas are also independently written and can be read as stand-alone stories without prior knowledge of the other novellas. Also, they are each the perfect length to read in entirety in one evening without being rushed or staying up late. Overall, this is a solid set of suspense stories sure to please most readers. I would rate most of the stories either a solid 3.5 or 4 stars, thus the 4 stars Goodreads score.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Any ideas expressed are my own opinions.

When I saw that every story in this book was written by Lynette Eason, I knew it would be a good collection to read. I was right: Each story in this book is interesting and suspenseful, with just the right touch of romance to add sweetness to the story. Even though the stories are shorter, the endings are not rushed and each one felt complete. There’s a nice flow from one story to the next.

I won’t go into detail about each one, but I was delighted to read a story that involved characters in another Lynette Eason series, the St. John family. This one takes place a little later than that book series did, and we’re able to get a glimpse into what their lives are like with their children. That alone was reason enough to read this one. Fans of Christian suspense books will love this book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Really 4 or 4.5 stars, but considering how many times I’ve reread the first three stories with the same amount of enjoyment, I’m bumping it up to five stars. The fourth story is the one that’s fully new material, and I loved it best of all, though it really wasn’t long enough. The parts with Daria (a character from book 4) were in were quite fun as she does her tricks with computers and helps solve the mystery on the pronto. It’s more suspense than mystery, but is a great conclusion to the Blue Justice series.

Thanks to the publisher for a free reading copy. My review is based on the final copy, not the ARC, and a favorable review was not required.

Protecting Tanner Hollow
Four Romantic Suspense Novellas

by Lynette Eason

Revell

Christian

Pub Date 05 Nov 2019

I am reviewing a copy of Protecting Tanner Hollow through Revell and Netgalley:

In the first Novella, Lethal Homecoming, Nolan Tanner was never able to get over Kallie Ainsworth’s Sudden departure. Now that he finds himself coming to her rescue, after someone attempted to kill her, he finds himself fighting those old feelings once more.

The Second Novella in this four Novella collection is Lethal Conspiracy. In this book professional fundraiser Lillian Maloney sees her father’s campaign manager kill someone and soon finds herself on the run from the men the Campaign Manager hired to kill her. A close calls brings a fire fighter, Jason Tanner to the rescue, but can they escape with the killer closing in?

In the Third Novella, Lethal Secrets: Someone is determined to see Honor McBride dead. When Eli Murphy helps her change a flat tire, and learns of the trouble she is in, he longs to help. There is a problem though, Eli has secrets of his own, secrets that could get them all killed.

In the final Novella in the Protecting Tanner Hollow collection, Lethal Agenda: After Detective Derek St.John rescues a woman he has met just once before and has never been able to forget. Soon he finds himself falling for her. But in order to have a future together he will have to keep Claire Montgomery!

I give Protecting Tanner Hollow five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Protecting Tanner Hollow by Lynette Eason is a collection of 4 short suspenseful stories. Ms Eason is a phenomenal suspense author and each of these stories is well written. Each story is fast paced and hard to put down! I loved Tanner Hollow, a small community with a strong law enforcement team. Each of the four stories is a standalone read but feature characters that appear in all the stories. I loved how the author designed the book, because it felt more like a novel than unrelated novellas. The suspense in these stories is so high that I had to put the book down at times, even though I am a frequent reader of books in this genre. Overall, I absolutely loved this book! I highly recommend it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher Revell with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

This is 4 novellas in one book. I enjoyed all of them.

LETHAL HOMECOMING:

Kallie Ainsworth left home several years before because of her step-father's abuse. Now he is dead and Kallie is going home. Just before she arrives though someone tries to run her off the road! Who would want to kill her? And why? Detective Nolan Tanner and Kallie have a romantic past. It broke his heart when Kallie left years ago. The old feelings arise again once he realizes that someone is after Kallie.

I had read this story before. In a compilation of various authors called TARGETED FOR DANGER going back and reading my review of this story I found that I wasn't a fan of it. How sad! Because this time around I really enjoyed it! I wonder what the difference was? I found the story very exciting and I really liked the characters this time around. I liked Kallie and Nolan as a couple and very much enjoyed the story.

LETHAL CONSPIRACY:

Nolan Tanner's firefighter brother Jason Tanner finds a woman left for dead. What looks like an apparent suicide turns out to be an attempted murder. Jason has an instant desire to help Lilly Peterson, a desire that has never hit him before. He just knows that Lilly is telling the truth and he is determined to keep her safe. Especially when he walks into her hospital room and finds someone trying to smother her!

Once again a very exciting read. I really liked Jason and Lilly and the intrigue of who was trying to kill Lilly was very exciting. I liked that Lilly didn't buckle in the end and stood up for herself.

LETHAL SECRETS:

Honor McBride is running from her husbands past. She and her 5 children have been threatened, now that her husband is dead someone wants Honor to pay up on his debts. Upon arriving in Tanner Hollow she has a blowout in one of her tires. Thankfully Eli Marshall is on the scene to help her with her tire and to help her find her way to her aunts home that she has just inherited. But trouble has arrived ahead of Honor and now it is up to Eli and his cousin Nolan to keep her and her children safe.

I think this one was my favorite of the 4 stories. I enjoyed Eli's interaction with the children and his care for Honor. I liked how strong Honor was, but also her ability to see her need for help. Fast-paced and exciting!

LETHAL AGENDA:

When an emergency call comes in that Claire Montgomery is being attacked in her home Sheriff Nolan Tanner wastes no time enlisting his friend who just arrived for a visit to help him. Derek St. John is taking a vacation, but ends up right in the middle of whatever is going on with Claire.

Yes, this is Derek St. John of the St. John's from the Blue Justice series. Finally we get to read about this brother! I enjoyed this fast-paced novella as well. Derek joins in the investigation of who would want Claire dead. The story takes a few twists and turns before it gets to the who-done-it. I like Claire and Derek as a couple, their chemistry was perfect and they fit well together. A very exciting conclusion that left me satisfied, but also wishing that their was more to their story!

Four exciting novella's that kept this reader entertained! If you like novella's and compilations then definitely check this out!

Protecting Tanner Hollow consists of four books with wonderful characters in law enforcement type careers. All four of the male protagonists are brave strong men protect the females while falling in love! Nolan Tanner is a police officer who is determined to protect his first and only love from murderers. His brother Nolan is a firefighter who is determined to find the political murderer that Lily witnessed. Eli Murphy wants to protect the new lady in town whose tire has a bullet hole. Detective Derek St. John works to keep Forensic Specialist Claire Montgomery alive! You will find each of these stories intriguing as someone is trying to murder the female protagonists! These four women are some of the bravest ladies you will meet! Some of the characters are in all four of the stories which begin in Tanner Hollow, North Carolina. Lynette Eason is one of the best when it comes to writing suspense! I recommend Protecting Tanner Hollow to anyone who enjoys suspense! I received a complimentary ebook from NetGalley and Revell. This is my honest opinion.

Protecting Tanner Hollow by Lynette Eason is a collection of 4 novellas set in Tanner Hollow. I really enjoyed the way Ms. Eason created a small town with some unforgettable characters. Nolan and Jason Tanner are two upright guys just looking to keep their town safe. Fortunately they found love along the way. Derek St. Peter and Eli Murphy are also strong upright men. And the ladies are strong well defined characters. The plot moves along quickly with several murders and attempted murders. Protecting Tanner Hollow by Lynette Eason

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Story Notes

Lynette Eason offers her readers a different type of book with four short suspense stories based in the same town – stories that are very well written despite the lack of numerous pages.

Lynette Eason does not disappoint when it comes to writing Mystery/Suspense stories. She gives them heart and creates characters you have to cheer for and love to see win. Her latest offering is quite different from the usual but lacks no punch when it comes to impactful stories. She includes four shorter stories in one book that are based in the formerly sleepy small town of Tanner Hollow. Lethal Homecoming starts the book off with an excellent story of a young woman coming home for the first time in six years. The abuse that sent her running from home is no longer a factor in coming home with the recent death of her stepfather. But fear comes crashing back into Kallie’s life when an unknown assailant attempts to run her off the road as she nears her former home. After barely managing to keep her vehicle on the road, she flees into the woods near her mother’s property and only manages to escape the culprit with the help of Sheriff Nolan Tanner, her former boyfriend. Shocked that Kallie has come back after all this time and is so randomly and brutally attacked, Nolan makes it his mission to find out what is going on. But there are many suspects in this case, including some of Kallie’s step-family that are less than happy about the delegations of her stepfather’s will. As they work together to figure out what’s going on and why, both Kallie and Nolan will find that the love they had for each other before is still there. If only they can lay aside the past and move into a better future together. Lethal Conspiracy has firefighter Jason Tanner, brother to Nolan, fighting alongside a Congressman’s daughter to keep her alive long enough to catch a murderer. Lilly Peterson is on the run after witnessing the murder of a woman in a parking garage. She knew the killer but the lack of evidence means no one believes her – the place where the woman was killed has no traces of blood or usable DNA. Helping Lilly find evidence to catch the man responsible will mean returning to Washington, DC and putting them and their friends in danger. But with a little help from an excellent forensic expert, they will save more than one life and maybe, find a reason to move beyond friendship. Lethal Secrets brings together Honor McBride and Eli Marshall. Honor has come to Tanner Hollow with her five children to live in the house left to her by her great-aunt. But danger from her deceased husbands enemies has followed her here and without help she has no chance of keeping them safe. Eli takes on the care of this weary young family and hopes to help them face their past so they can move forward into their new life. But there are more people involved in all the deadly happenings than anyone realizes and when it all comes crashing together, both Eli and Honor will have to reach beyond past hurts to ensure that all of them make it out alive. The final story in the book, Lethal Agenda, also brings an ending to Ms. Eason’s Blue Justice series. Derek St. John is in Tanner Hollow to visit Nolan Tanner and take a break from police work. He has just finished an intense case and broken up with long time girlfriend/fiancee Elaine. All he wants is to enjoy his time off and catch up with his friend. Answering the call for help from forensic expert Claire Montgomery with Nolan begins a chain of events that requires Derek to act as her full time body guard. Working through her attack and who might be behind it brings them closer than the friendship they’ve maintained from a distance and might help them both move beyond the pain they carry from the past. But first they have to find the one behind the continued attacks before other innocent people get hurt. All of these stories were very well done and complete in themselves. It would have been okay with me if they had been longer but they were written with enough depth that I didn’t feel like I had missed something along the way. I loved the complexity of the stories and the characters that intermixed through all of them. It gave a cohesiveness that that though thorough, it didn’t make them seem like all the same story. I will certainly be recommending this book to others in the hope they will like it as well as I did. Looking forward to the next book Ms. Eason has coming soon.

Protecting Tanner Hollow was written by Lynette Eason and contains four short stories.
Summary: Each story centers around a different person living in Tanner Hollow. And in each, the main character discovers that someone is out to kill them.
The stories are packed with action and drama as the characters struggle to determine not only who is after them, but why, and how to survive-with a little romance thrown in along the way.
My Thoughts: This was my favorite book by Lynette Eason so far. I really liked the format of a shorter story, yet intertwining the characters into the next story, and then the next.
Even though each story is short, there is still plenty of action throughout, and each story has great characters, interesting plot lines, and keeps you on a roller coaster until the very end.
The fourth story does contain characters from the author’s previous Blue Justice series, but it is not necessary to have read the series in order to enjoy the story.
My only criticism is one I had with each of the Blue Justice series books-in the fourth story there are too many characters to keep straight because the St. John family is just so big.
Otherwise though, these are some really fun stories. This book would make the perfect gift, a great take-along for vacation, or even just something fun to curl up with for the weekend. I recommend it, and would purchase it for myself.
As always, I would like to thank Revell for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review. Thank you!

I really enjoyed reading this set of books. Each one was easy to read and by having four it kept the story going and allowed me to read at my own pace. The stories take place in Tanner Hollow and several of the characters are in more than one story. This was nice in that it let you keep up with the characters and see what happened next. Each story was one that kept you guessing on how each one would turn out. They really made you want to finish each one in one reading.

I received this book from the publisher, the review is entirely my own.

I enjoyed reading Lynette Eason's latest, Protecting Tanner Hollow. This book contains four novellas that tell a bit of suspense that takes place in the sleepy town of Tanner Hollow!

These four tales Lethal Homecoming, Lethal Conspiracy, Lethal Secrets and Lethal Agenda are loosely connected. Some of the characters in the first tale are brought through the remaining stories.

This book tells about how the citizens of this town come together to assist their neighbors in times of need!

I could not wait to get my hands on this book. Lynette Eason is a suspense master and I have loved everything I’ve read by her. Getting four books in one, a total no-brainer for me. I was hooked from page one and enjoyed getting to know the characters. It was fun seeing some of them reappear and not have to wait months to finally hear their story. Nothing is as nail biting as women fleeing for their lives, and what’s more romantic than a dashing and protective hero? I would’ve gladly read full length novels for each of these stories, but I also felt good about the way they ended. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense. I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishers and was in no way forced to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Lynette Eason never disappoints with her well-written plot and high-powered, adrenaline-laced action and suspense and memorable characters. I love that these four novellas take place in the small town of Tanner Hollow, NC and are connected by the characters in each story.

Lethal Homecoming features Nolan Tanner, a detective in Tanner Hollow, and Kallie who is being targeted as she returns to town for her stepfather’s funeral. Lethal Conspiracy is about Jason Tanner, Nolan’s firefighter brother, and Lilly, a politician’s daughter, running from a killer. Lethal Secrets features Eli, the Tanner brothers’ cousin, and Honor who is a single mother of five running from those attempting to kill her and harm her children. These three novellas have previously been published separately under their titles. Lethal Agenda, a new novella, brings Derek St. John from the Blue Justice series into Claire’s life as she tries to figure out how her job as a forensic specialist is tied to the near death experiences she keeps having. The villains are unexpected and surprising in each story and each story reads like a full-length novel. If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will love this collection of novellas.

I received a copy of the book from Baker Publishing via Interviews & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

“Protecting Tanner Hollow” was another great read by Lynette Eason. This was a 4-book set. Each book was short and easy to read. I like that. In fact, I was able to read each book in a day! Lynette Eason continues to be one of my favorite romantic, suspense fiction authors. I loved how this book brought the St. John family back into the mix at the end. This is a family from another series of Lynette Eason’s.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good, clean, romantic suspense fiction. I have never been disappointed in Lynette Eason’s books, and I don’t think you will, either.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.
