3.5⭐
An enjoyable, easy, angst free read. Liked Reed a lot, but Daddy annoyed me as the book went on and that's why I only gave it 3.5 stars. Plus, it seemed more of a series of hookups rather than an actual story. But I can't deny it was still quick, hot and engaging to read.

Reed Miller part owns a nightclub (Sin) with his two best friends, Gage and AJ, he is also a little in love with AJ’s girlfriend, Darcy, who he avoids like the plague, there’s no way he wants his feelings known by anybody, so that’s why he stays well clear. That is until he thinks she’s cheating on his best friend. Yep, that’ll get the sparks flying, and it most certainly does. When the chips are down, and all Reed and Darcy have is self restraint to keep them from each other, excitement, passion and good old fashioned chemistry take over. Let’s also not forget how, sexy and alpha Mr I’m an ex MMA fighter is. What a sexy read this is, great words, great writing, and an all round fun easy read. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This is an older book by author Elle Kennedy, but since I really enjoy her other books (more recent ones) I wanted to give this one a try.

Overall, this is a terrific book mixing the serious steaminess well with the development of their relationship. If you enjoyed the first book in this series, like I did, then I think you will like this one even better. Elle Kennedy has another steamy, satisfying winner! However, I do recommend you reading book 1 in this series, before picking this one up.

Reed and his best friend AJ have been best friends since childhood and own a bar. Reed's been secretly in lust with AJ's girl, Darcy, for a while but he would never act on it. When he finds out AJ and Darcy broke up he still believes that it wouldn't be right to date her due to the bro-code.

Unfortunately, Darcy and Reed have red hot chemistry and can't keep their hands off each other. They feel guilty and try to keep their affair a secret but that's easier said than done. Darcy knows AJ's a great guy but there just wasn't any passion like she feels with Reed. Can AJ and Reed remain friends now that Reed's lied to him about Darcy? Recommended.

A quick read, too quick to really develop the characters or go to far off the well beaten path plot wise. One reformed bad boy and one slightly judgmental school teacher try to ignore their attraction to each other because she is his best friend’s ex and she thinks they are too different to make a go of a real relationship. It is a book by Elle Kennedy so you know the steam is going to be there. I just wanted more from the overall story.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've read several of Elle Kennedy's books and I always love her writing. This After Hours series is one of her older ones with Brazen. It's written in third person, which isn't my favorite but worked for me in this one. I loved the chemistry between the characters. Darcy and Reed were on fire. I liked how Darcy's ex was Reed's best friend and what that brought to the story. The only thing I was big on was the drug plot. It just seemed not very hard-hitting and like something extra added just for drama. Overall, this was one of those fun, flirty reads.

This is a contemporary romance between Reed and Reed's best friend's ex-girlfriend....so forbidden, but only slightly. Reed has had a crush on Darcy for months, but has stayed away because she was AJ's girl. When that changes, neither Reed or Darcy can stay away from the other, despite their guilt.

If you enjoy a sexy romance hot enough to melt your kindle, you will love this book. It's hot, sexy, and just a bit naughty with likeable characters that I fell in love with. Reed is the naughty bad boy who wants to change his ways that made me swoon, while Darcy is the good girl with just a bit of bad in her.

Put this at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

One Night Scandal is the second book in the After Hours series and focuses on Reed and Darcy, which is somewhat taboo, as Darcy had previously been in a relationship with AJ, Reed's best friend. Reed had been attracted to Darcy for a long time but wouldn't do anything about it out of respect for AJ, and Darcy just assumed Reed was a player and didn't like Darcy at all because he often ignored her.

Darcy and Reed had great chemistry and once they gave into their attraction, things steamrolled from there and they couldn't stay away from each other. I actually really enjoyed this story and thought AJ showed great maturity regarding Reed and Darcy's relationship. I enjoyed how Reed matured and turned from a player to someone more serious and relationship centered. I enjoyed these characters and the writing style and enjoyed book two more than book one. I look forward to reading book three, which is AJ's story.
