Review posted on www.bookshelfbombshells.com in 2012. Unfortunately, I did not link to the review at the time and now it is 8 years later. This would be a great textbook for any sort of gender studies curriculum or feminist fiction course. I could even see this being used in certain anthropology course settings. Because it's an academic book, it wasn't exactly a riveting pleasure read type of book, but it was quite fascinating, well researched, and laid out in a way that was systematic and made sense.

My apologies; if I requested this book, it appears that due to family commitments I was not able to read it before the book was archived. I'm sorry it has lingered this long.
