Having enjoyed several of Lori’s books, I was really excited to read this book especially after reading the synopsis. Unfortunately I struggled through this book and had a hard time connecting to this story. At times, it felt like the pacing was too slow for me. But I did enjoy the suspense and chemistry between Mitch and Charlotte. I also loved some of the heartwarming moments in this book. I just wished that we had seen more of their relationship growth. Overall, there were things that loved about this story and things that I struggled with. But still look forward in reading more of Lori’s books.

I love Lori Foster and this book was no exception. It started a little slow for me but because of my love of this author I pushed through and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the book. Due to the slow start it lost a start but still absolutely worth the read.

Apologies for the late response on this title, and apologies for clogging up an inbox on old titles.

While I am aware it's obvious, I have chosen not to read/review this title.

As always, I appreciate access to titles and look forward to the next one...which I have likely already read based on how long ago this title was published.

Thanks, again.

I enjoyed her curiously endearing yet flawed characters as much as her compelling storylines with a heinous villain everyone had reason to revile and despise due to his repeated and unthinkable cruelty toward women, children, and animals. The overall emotional tone held a steady thrum of tension and sense of impending peril due to the lurking dangers that were constantly and incrementally building; yet there were also liberal sprinkles of levity, a blossoming romance, curiously tantalizing backstories, steamy sensuality, and captivating family drama interspersed throughout.

I didn't love the book All Fired Up by Lori Foster. I've read a bunch of books written by her and I prefer her romantic suspense series more than this contemporary romance series. I'm still giving this book a 3 stars rating. This just wasn't the book for me. She is still a great writer.

Lori Foster once again knocks it out of the park. This book, All Fired Up will make you happy and angry at all the same time. It has the alpha males and the brave heroines. Once you start reading the book you can't put it down. This is book three in the Road to Love series. Mitch Crews is looking for his half brothers but what he finds is acceptance and love. Family is about love not blood. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

This is the third installment in the Road to Love series. This is Charlotte’s story and we finally get to see who’s gonna be Charlotte’s man. A guy named Mitch sees Charlotte having car trouble on the side of the road. He is a bad boy and Charlotte has waited a long time to find the one who makes her feel like he does. Some trouble follows Mitch but it is nothing he and his family can’t handle. This is a book about second chances and you can’t help but connect with these strong characters. I was given an ARC for an honest review.

All Fired Up is the third book in the Road to Love series. This is a really good book. Lori Foster hits all the emotions for these characters. Mitch, who desperately craves family, but is afraid based upon his past. Brodie and Jack, who accept Mitch as there brother, almost immediately. Ros, who embraces Mitch as one of her own sons, though she did not give birth to him. And Charlotte, who, upon first sight, falls head over heals for Mitch.

Charlotte Parrish runs the office of Mustang Transport courier service for Brodie and Jack Crews, with occasional help from their mom, Ros. When Charlotte’s car gets a flat tire, she calls each of the brothers to come and help her, before her phone dies.

In walks Mitch Crews! An ex-con who is determined to change the course of his life! While in search of his two half-brothers (Brodie and Jack), he stumbles across Charlotte, standing beside her broken down car. Just as Mitch has finished changing Charlotte’s flat tire, his brothers show up. And Ros is right behind them! Her greeting to Mitch was one of immediate acceptance as one of her own sons! Her acceptance of Mitch is so heart-warming, and beautiful. It total throws Mitch off balance.

All of Lori’s characters are interesting and lovable, especially the furry ones - from Howler, the dog Brodie rescued, to the kitten and dog Jack and Ronnie rescue, to Brute, the abused pit bull pup Mitch rescued. The reader can’t help but fall in love with them all. Great story! I received this ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

I was definitely curious about this book when I first heard about it. This is the first book of Lori Foster’s that I’ve read. I’m definitely grateful that it wasn’t necessary to read Book 1 and 2. Now I’m looking forward to finding out how Brodie and Jack met their lovely wives.

I loved the characters. Each one of them held their own story while intermingling with their family members. There are some complex things going on at the start. How would you feel if someone showed up claiming to be a half-brother of yours? I don’t think I would act the same way as the Crews family did. Without question, the Crews family accepted Mitch with barely any question as one of their own.

Mitch quickly became one of my favorites as I continued reading. You could feel his apprehension about introducing himself to his family. He definitely didn’t except to be accepted as soon as he was, especially by his father’s first wife. His apprehension is still evident even as he starts to get to know his half-brothers and their wives. Considering his past, it was amazing how much he took to his brothers.

Well in terms of what happens between Charlotte and Mitch….well I’ll leave that to you to find out for yourselves…

All Fired up is the new book by Lori Foster .
Wow!!! Very well written, romantic suspense. I was pulled right into this story. The character's are well written and the story is simply brilliant. Another fun and sexy romp through this chemistry driven story.

It was amazing

Sometimes you anticipate an event so much that when it finally occurs, the reality is somewhat disappointing. Not so with this book, it delivered in a big way.....5 stars big! Lori is one of my go-to authors and this book does not disappoint. She tells a story of an emotionally wounded man and his search for a family and for love and acceptance. It is also about a wonderful woman who stands with him as he learns to accept that he is worthy. This story made me feel warm inside and left me with a smile on my face.

I received an ARC from Netgalley for my honest review. Lori Foster does it again. She is an amazing writer and brings her characters to life. This is the third installment of Road to Love and this was Charlotte's story. Her Road to Love series brings lots of romance and suspense. They are a must read.

Lori Foster completes her Road to Love series with this novel, All Fired Up. Ms. Foster has a definite knack for writing complex, clear voiced characters and her hero and heroine in All Fired Up are no exception. Their journey to happily ever after includes some side trips into the definition of family, the idea of nature vs nurture and family values. I particularly appreciated the love scenes which served to move the story along, and were written with passion and class. All Fired Up has an element of mystery which is begun in the previous books, so that might make it a little difficult as a stand alone.
3.5
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

All Fired Up is probably going to be my favourite of the Road to Love series, folks. Charlotte Parrish Brodie and Jack's surrogate baby sister finally gets her story this time around, and, contrary to her plans, she is getting a guy who is a lot like her 'brothers'. Mitch Crews (you read that right) is in Red Oak, Ohio to find his half-brothers, Brodie and Jack, and then figure out what comes next. But, oops, he slipped and fell for the really attractive blonde outside of Freddie's who was having car problems. Y'all know how I said Jack and Ronnie had a meet-cute, well, Mitch has a meet-cute. With his brothers who show up to help Charlotte with her car and find a random arsed dude already doing so and it's not until Ros pops in with a "you look a super familiar" does anybody do some addition. And it's hilarious enough to elicit a snortle out of yours truly in the line at Starbucks, it won't be the last time I embarrass myself there. I live there.
We have a full-on family reunion in this book, y'all and you will laugh and cry (I am an emotional hot mess) just like at any family reunion. Brodie, who I've just wanted to throw out a dang window of a train most of this series, finally shows himself to be funny and endearing. Don't know how it happened but there it is. Jack and Ronnie are the comedic duo we fell for in Slow Ride. And Momma Ros is our reigning queen and I pledge unending fealty to that woman. Also, can she adopt me? Rosalyn immediately adopts Mitch into the Crews family and bulldozes through Mitch's wariness like he's her blood-get and I love her so much for that. And she's Team Mitch-Charlotte from the first second. And for Mitch who doesn't really know what 'family love' feels like, it's all a bit overwhelming. Luckily, Charlotte is always right there for him, supporting him and letting him know "it's okay to be uncomfortable with all of it, they're weird, but you'll get used to them and love them as much as they love you".
Our baddie du jour for this book actually makes my skin crawl, Newman was Mitch's mom's scummy drug-dealer/live-in abusive boyfriend and he's after Mitch and "what he owes him". Massive eye roll there. Let's just let Ronnie have at him, because the guy is positively creepy. And narcissistic. And sinister. And Lori Foster writes this bad guy very well.
Did I mention that Mitch is a Crews through and through? Paws down. He's rescued a pupper too! He's a rough beginning and is a tad bit timid, but Howler and Charlotte are all about Brute the pit and helping him open up. And I will sob incoherently into my Ben and Jerry's dairy-free ice cream over this! Charlotte and Brute's bond is one of the reasons that Mitch decides that Charlotte is definitely his Forever Girl. Anyways, this book is totally puppy powered. I had to say it.
I want to put some content warnings in here for y’all. So, if you feel the need to have warnings, click the button to reveal all!
You know those really heart-wrenching ASPCA commercials that you end up crying about for an hour? We have a scene that didn't make it into the video because it's a bit graphic. There's an attempted prison rape. There's alcoholic content and mention of drugs and there is a bunch of violence (about moderate, nothing too diabolical).
Overall, I'm giving All Fired Up 4 stars and 3 flames. This book was funny and heartwarming. I know this one is probably the last in the series, but I truly wish there was another book to look forward to with the Crews family in it. Now! for the disclaimer! I received an ARC of All Fired Up from Harlequin in exchange for an honest review and I got to participate in my very first Harlequin blog tour. Do y'all know how exciting this was? I squee. But a free book does not influence my opinion or my review or my rating. So this review is all from my mind and heart and completely coffee-fueled. Thank you to Harlequin and to Justine for giving me this opportunity! Now, keep reading for an excerpt of All Fired Up! (excerpt on my site)

I have no idea how I forgot to post this to NG when I posted it everywhere else. I was in the middle of packing my apartment so I found what I forgot! smh

Mitch and Charlotte's story had you hooked from the beginning and once you start, its almost impossible to put down. I love the suspense, family drama, friendships and acceptance this story has. Hot chemistry and suspense in one wonderful book. I think this may be one added to my favorites.

All Fired Up (Road to Love #3). By Lori Foster. 2019. HQN Books (ARC eBook).

Working as the office manager at Mustang Transport and considered a part of the Crews family, she has seen more than a fair share of trouble follow Brodie and Jack around. And as much as she loves them, she resolved long ago that the man she will give her heart to will be the exact opposite of the “bad boy.” But then Mitch Crews arrives in town.

Mitch is looking for a new start. He’s chosen Red Oak to begin a business and so that he can introduce himself to the two half-brothers he has never met. Mitch is a lot like Brodie and Jack, with a strong physique and protective nature, but he hasn’t had a lot of kindness shown to him in his life. So when Charlotte and the whole Crews bunch rally around him when his past comes after him, he’ll do anything to keep them out of harm’s way.

With this series, Foster delivers on tough, sexy and totally stand up guys. And I’ve loved the dynamic she’s set up between the love interests in each book. And whereas with the first two romances, where the Crews brothers coax their ladies into dropping their shields and accepting love, in All Fired Up it is Charlotte who convinces Mitch, who’s never felt like he belonged anywhere, that he’s found his home.

All Fired Up is a FANTASTIC Contemporary Romance that shows you that the power of family is everything. It also shows that family can be different than just whose blood runs through you. I have always been a fan of Lori Foster and All Fired Up is a special book that will give you all the feels AND thrills!

Mitch might be an ex-con, but this guy has more integrity in his pinky finger than others do. He makes a decision to visit his half brothers that do not know he exists as he turns his life around. This is the type of guy that literally expects nothing from the world because he has been let down so many times. He not only didn't expect his half brothers to be amazing men, but he definitely expect Charlotte Parish to knock him on his knees. This girl is a mixture of shy and spunky and beautiful that completely takes him by surprise!

All in all this book was extremely heartfelt with a touch of danger and suspense included. I am usually not a huge fan of 3rd person writing styles, but the way that Foster wrote it was flawless. If you like contemporary romances that make your heart sigh and gives you a rush with danger, All Fired Up is a great next read for you!

PS: Thank you to Lori Foster and Inkslinger PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

Initial reaction thread on twitter: "The first page of this book opens with Some Shitty Dude fantasising about a complete stranger who is on her own, at night, and clearly frustrated. Excuse me while I check GR to see if this guy is a murderer or if The Allos Are At It Again."

Review of Lady Business: I have so many problems with All Fired Up. Some of them I tweeted about! Some of them I'm yelling about for Smart Bitches Trashy Books! The plot is that Our Hero, Mitch, gets out of prison and decides to finally meet his half-siblings to see if he can build a relationship with them... And immediately falls for the woman who keeps their business together, Charlotte.

Most of my problems might tie into "I am too ace-spectrum for this book," because every scene that the two leads are in together has them pro-occupied by each other even when other, more important things are happening. But some of them are things like "Page one is Mitch standing in the shadows, fantasising about Charlotte while she's having car trouble and doesn't know he's there, with no indication that he's not the villain and that this isn't the set-up for a horror movie." And clearly the author KNOWS this shit is creepy, because the villain does the exact same thing later. ... Don't even get me started on the villain, okay, he is cartoonishly evil to the point where it's impossible to take him seriously. He does many horrible things off-screen (drug-dealing, animal abuse, child abuse, beating people for information so that he can stalk Mitch, stalking Charlotte...), but on-screen he's ridiculous. I appreciate that he's there to force tension and closeness, but I don't think he's even good for that.

The good things about All Fired Up is that there are a lot of dogs, strong family bonds, and the secondary romances are pretty good. But the amount of nonsense it takes to get to that means it isn't for me.

[Caution warning: Violence, virgin-shaming, stalking; discussions of animal abuse, attempted rape, car accidents, child neglect and abuse, drug use and dealing, infidelity, imprisonment] [This review is based on an ARC from Netgalley]

Initial draft of Smart Bitches, Trashy Books review: All Fired Up by Lori Foster
Rating: C-
Caution warnings: <spoiler>Violence, virgin-shaming, stalking; discussions of animal abuse, attempted rape, car accidents, child neglect and abuse, drug use and dealing, infidelity, imprisonment</spoiler>

All Fired Up is the third book in Lori Foster's Road to Love series, although it can be read as a standalone if you don't mind spoilers for the earlier books. Mitch Crews is out of prison, rebuilding his life, and hoping to finally meet the half-brothers he never knew. He just hadn't expected to fall in love with Charlotte Parrish, the woman who keeps his brothers' business running.

I have to admit I nearly DNFed All Fired Up on page one. Mitch's introduction was him standing somewhere that Charlotte couldn't see him, fantasising about having sex with her, while she's on her own at night with a flat tire. That is creepy and predatory! And the author clearly knows this, because she has the villain do that as well later in the book! It damaged my trust in Mitch at the start. The story had to do a lot of work to get past that initial creepiness, some of which is done explicitly on page. Mitch's tragic backstory of abuse, neglect, and prison drug abuse is mostly frontloaded into the first few chapters of the book as part of him meeting his new family and trying to earn their trust, so the author has a route for explaining all of the things he's done to prove himself a decent person.

Honestly, I found the book to be much more interesting when Mitch and Charlotte weren't interacting. I'm a sucker for complicated family dynamics, and watching the Crews bring him into the fold is heart-warming and comes with an amusing narration style and a lot of cute dogs. It's not just the main family having to find space for him in their lives and hearts, it's also Mitch figuring out that his family wants him in that space and having to negotiate how to be okay with that! Relationships like that are catnip to me! And the secondary romance of Ros, Mitch's step-mother, choosing between her current beau and a second-chance romance with her ex-husband is really well built-up in the background! But when Mitch and Charlotte are interacting, the amount of fantasising and focusing on Charlotte that Mitch does conflicts with the narration that his new family are the most important. It didn't help that there are some weirdly possessive interactions between the men that left me feeling absolutely lost, which I'm putting down to me being too queer and not enough into alpha-male dramatics. And this is without getting into Mitch's freak-out when he and Charlotte start dating. <spoiler>Charlotte is a virgin, and Mitch is appalled. I appreciate that it's supposed to be tied into his feelings that he isn't worthy of her, but it reads like purity double-standards.</spoiler>

As for the actual plot: Mitch's step-father decides to hunt him down as revenge for ruining his drug-dealing career. The only depth this man has is the lengths he will go to find rock bottom and keep digging, because he is cartoonishly evil. There is one scene with him where he feels like a threat, which is from Charlotte's point of view; all of the ones from his point of view drip with over-the-top sleaze and incompetence, to the point where I couldn't take him seriously.

I liked All Fired Up for the story about family, finding a place for yourself, and dogs! While the individual characters worked for me, the main romance didn't, but it's still a compelling read.
