This was my first book by this author.
this was truly an one of a kind read. The book was beautifully written, easy to follow, and a page-turner for sure.

A workplace accident that leads to re-evaluation of life after death and a more closely aligned perspective upon religion, politics, and the future of one's life and soul.
I cannot imagine that moment when your spouse is declared brain dead from a tragic fall much less later having to have a discussion about organ donation.
I was floored reading about the insight Maryanne Pope writes about in this new work entitled, "A Widow's Awakening."
This is not just a book about losing a loved one but gaining a new outlook upon life and moving forward in a healthy and unobstructed way.
While her spouse was only 32 yrs old he had his whole life ahead until it was ended tragically too short.
What resulted is this work of fiction based on real life events.
Thank you to Maryanne, the publisher, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
A must read!

A Widow’s Awakening is a fictionalization of what the author went through when her Canadian policeman died on duty because of an unaddressed workplace safety issue. While trying to make sense of her loss her thoughts and experiences take her through a range of ideas, sometimes rants, about religion, environment, 9/11, and workplace safety among some of them. The one truth she finally realized is that everyone grieves in their own individual way. This was an interesting book about her journey and while this reader did not always agree with her conclusions or her politics, I, as one who also was widowed, have to applaud the effort to move forward one step at a time. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book from NetGalley.
