The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby was a sentimental read. I found myself bawling at the end of the story. I know I felt bad for Tanner and Jewel because they were deprived from having a happily ever after but only to a certain point. If their relationship had been solid and there was trust then they could have weathered through anything but Jewel didn’t give Tanner the time to explain she just plainly executed him without hearing him out. Now a year later now Jewel is going to have some explaining to do on why she didn’t try hard enough to find Tanner to let him know that he had become a father. She has very hard on Tanner when he was very considerate with her. She judged him so much that at times I had a hard time with feeling compassion with her. I loved the storyline and the characters were well developed. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.

When Tanner Bridwell discovers he’s a father, he gains some much needed hope. A year ago, Tanner lost his livelihood as a champion bull rider, and—more important—Jewel Saunders, the love of his life. This was a pretty good story. It was quick and one I really enjoyed. I recommend.

I always love a trip to Sweetheart Ranch in Arizona on the pages of McDavid’s fun series, especially when it falls around Christmas.

Family is front and center in The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby – with all its blessings and curses. Tanner is torn between two families, the one he was born into and the one he created. The fact that, no matter what choice he makes, someone he loves dearly will be hurt definitely adds some complex and emotional layers to the story, and McDavid uses this to keep the tension high throughout. In fact, I spent most of the story annoyed at everyone in Tanner’s family – including Tanner – and Jewel, too…. annoyed, but very invested in how it would all turn out. Because I wanted to wave my non-existent magic wand and fix this impossible situation for Tanner, who was trying to do the right thing, but of course life doesn’t work that day – and neither does a good story.

Watching Tanner instantly bond with sweet little Ava is so adorable – a tough cowboy all smitten with a baby girl is all kinds of swoonworthy & a cutiepie baby girl who instantly knows this is her daddy just melts your heart. The chemistry between Tanner & Jewel hasn’t faded any in their time apart; in fact, all that repressed longing may have just made those sparks even hotter, and that first-again kiss? whew! Keep your fans handy.

This is my personal preference but in my romances, I like a little angst but not to the point where as a reader you want to bash their heads together and throw your kindle. It got annoying real fast to see them constantly logging heads. The only saving grace in all this was the Hero with his baby girl. Wish the romance was better written though…

Tanner is still reeling from the after affect of a fake confession, never realizing the repercussions. His brother has a brain tumor and Tanner took the blame pretty much blacklisting himself from the rodeo, risking a lawsuit unable to work for his father like he wanted. Now hes finding he has a kid and that those repercussions extended towards Jewel. He wants to be a father to his child but with the fake confession looming over their heads he needs to make things right and tell everyone the truth.

If you are looking for a book that screams Christmas then you wont find it here, it is during holiday season I suppose but your not really going to find Christmas spirit here. (TBH I cant remember, for all I know it couldn't taken place at any time though I do remember a brief mention of Christmas and the cover of the book hints this is taking place during the holidays) If you love a good western, contemporary romance then look no further because this really is an enjoyable book. I loved getting to know the characters, and seeing how everything was playing out especially with Tanners family. I really disliked his brother, yea I get that hes going through some issues especially that stemmed from his brain tumor, but he was pretty selfish and it drove me nuts! I also wasn't a fan of the father who, let the issues continued justifying and backing up the selfish brother making him even more full of himself. Overall this was a pretty good book I really enjoyed it.

I love a good clean read like these little books!! They leave your heart feeling full long after you are finished with them. I felt blessed that I was able to read this book.
I felt that Ava was the daughter I never had. She was so sweet and adorable!! Getting to know her mom and dad was truly fun!! I love Jewel's name. To me, it's unique. I love names that are different from everyone else's.
I love that the truth about Tanner comes out pretty quickly in this story. I've often said that it's never good to keep secrets because it will only end up hurting the people you love in the end. Secrets can fester. They can eat you up on the inside until eventually you just might have to explode. I just don't see how some people are able to do it!! I guess they have no conscious or no heart let's put it that way.
I love that this author was able to draw me into the book. I felt like I was a part of Jewel and Tanner's family. I've always wanted a big family but I never got one. I don't think it was the Lord's will.
The settling was just pure delightful. You see, I'm a horse lover. Have been ever since I was a little girl. They are magnificent animals!! I seen my first horse when I was probably 6. after that I was in love. I could picture Jewel racing around the barrels in a rodeo. I've never been. Think I will add that to my bucket list.
I really enjoyed this story and the way the way this author writes will surely have you hanging onto the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens to our two lovebirds? Who knows! I encourage you to pick up this book and read it. It will set your heart to racing against time. I just loved it!!
My thanks for a complimentary copy of this book with NO compensations received and all opinions are my own.

I adore reunion stories, but if you've read reviews from me in the past, I'm not a huge fan of the secret baby trope. The Cowboy's Christmas Baby has them both. For me, the secret baby part is a hard sell since the author has to make sure that the romance is strong and that the couple is getting back together because they're in love and not because of the baby, Fortunately, Ms McDavid is able to convey this.

In fact, the whole secret baby bit was out in the open in the first chapter. The conflict in the story, what tore the couple apart in the first place, well... I don't want to give away plot. But I can honestly say that it was the first time that I'd seen this particular take on the family (parents) vs the significant other. I had some mixed feelings about it, but at the same time I liked both Tanner and Jewel. Obviously it's a romance so we know they're getting their happily ever after, so I was quite pleased with the conflict resolution.

I enjoyed the setting around the amateur rodeo as well as a couple ranches. And I feel like I need to revisit this locale in the future. I was quite happy with this book and would recommend it to readers who love western romance as well as the secret baby trope.

This was a wonderful story. I so enjoyed reading this. I was captivated right from the beginning. One year ago, Tanner gave up his bull riding career to protect his brother. His life fell apart at the seams as a consequence. Just days from getting married to Jewel, his barrel-racing fiancée, she tells him to leave and not to come back. While working at Powell Ranch as the assistant barn manager, Jewel comes back into his life unexpectedly. She is there trying to restart her barrel-racing career or turn her photography hobby into her career. Jewel gave birth to their daughter, Ava four months prior. The many difficult situations that these two go through is very heart-wrenching at times.

This was written in such a manner that I could really picture everything happens just like in a movie instead of a book. I loved returning to Sweetheart Ranch. Seeing the prior characters was a joy. It was almost like catching up with old friends.

There were times when Jewel seemed a little selfish, demanding and not too compassionate towards Tanner's situation. But I could totally understand where she was coming from. I felt the author did a fantastic job as I was really into the plight of these two.

This book was written in my favorite dual POV format. It was really necessary for me to read into Jewel's thoughts to really understand her. Her position on Tanner's situation was one that I personally didn't agree with (yes, I sided with the handsome fictional male character!) But seeing where she was coming from made her more human as she wasn't a perfect character.

This was a sweet, clean second chance romance. I would highly recommend this story to anyone especially if you LOVE cowboys!!!

🎄⭐MY REVIEW 🎄⭐
For some reason I felt like something was missing and I found the story to be just slightly boring. I think most of my problem was that I didn't really connect with the two. I have read other books by the author and loved them. Not every story is for everyone and this one just was not for me. I'm sure alot of you are going to love it though. All in all, an okay read. I am eager to read other books by this author . I did love the beautiful cover. It is very eye catching. Many thanks to the publisher , author , and netgalley for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
