Stories like this kind of make me sad...a soldier comes home to find that everything, including himself, is different. The couple has grown apart. To top that stress off, Hawk is convinced his crash was deliberate. I thought this was a good story but would have liked to see more time spent on their relationship. There was a lot to tackle here.

Soldier’s Christmas Secret by Laura Scott is part of the Justice Seekers series. This is a very good series however this book can be read alone. The title doesn’t match the book as well as the cover. The cover is perfect for the story with the addition of the teddy bear.

Hawk was the sole survivor of a military helicopter crash where he lost his team. He still has some lingering amnesia but is convinced that they were sabotaged. He has been researching to find out who was behind it. Everyone thought he was dead including his wife. He let her think that because he thought he was protecting her.
However two years later he moves in next door to her. (Hard to understand some of his decisions; but this is fiction so roll with it).

Jillian found out she was pregnant while he was deployed and she never got a chance to tell him.
Most of the story is them escaping the people trying to kill him and find the evidence that he has on them. Lots of action and discussion of how he has changed from the man she originally married.

As with most stories like this the woman was stupid and put herself in unnecessary danger. However there were times that she actually made the right decisions.
This story was good but I am anxiously awaiting Ryker’s story!!!

Sexual content - kissing
Violence - someone is trying to kill or kidnap them, a few military people die,

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

'If you would just put your future in God's hands, you'd find out exactly what God has in store for us.'

This was my first book by Laura Scott to read. It was seriously good and full of suspense. A great hero, a plot overflowing with intrigue, and good secondary characters all make for a great read. This was so suspenseful that I was nearly going crazy trying to figure out what would happen next and just who the villains were! Recommended.

*My thanks to Harlequin Publishing for a copy of this book via Net Galley. The opinion stated here is entirely my own.

Why doesn't he tell her?

I hear you, kid. Teakettles are annoying.

He is ready for anything.

How did he do that?

They should check the car for bugs.

Has she never heard of corruption?

They can so arrest you, man. Who are you?

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

"Soldier's Christmas Secrets" is a Christian suspense novel. Hawk has fairly permanent amnesia after surviving a crash, but he knows that someone is after him because of an illegal gun deal that he witnessed. He can't remember who was involved and who to trust. After years of trying to regain his memory and track down the truth, his wife is attacked and he saves her life. She didn't know that he survived, so his appearance comes as a shock. She's busy taking care of their young daughter, so she generally left the fighting and decisions up to him. However, she did help solve the mystery and wasn't just a warm body to keep safe.

Hawk and his wife have to decide if they still want to be married since Hawk has changed so much (and so has his wife). The suspense came from the danger to Hawk and everyone involved in the mystery. The characters were engaging and reacted realistically to events. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable suspense novel.
