This is the second Dear Dragon book I have read. It did not disappoint me. The boy and Dragon are once again telling all the things that make them happy. It is a great way to introduce emotions to your child. It also opens up dialog on what makes them happy. It is a great way to get children started on expressing emotions. Dragon is once again so cute and loveable. The repeating is perfect for the beginning reader and this is a great storytime story.

Our young friend and his dragon are finding and sharing things that make them happy. This is a repetitive book that is wonderful when young children are learning to read. Each page has the same basic words and pattern; "I am happy when .,,," then a word or short phrase is added and supported by the large, bright, colourful illustrations. I read this to my grandchildren and my 5 year old "read" along with me. There are tips to help beginning readers as well as a list of what the high frequency words are. There are also some simple activities in the back. We used the prompts at the back and talked about what makes us happy, and then we drew and made things out of playdough to illustrate it. For a family who are helping their children read, or a grade 1 classroom, this book is a great fit.

This is a cute little picture book for the beginning reader. Great associations with activities that make the main character happy to reinforce the concept (and I love that going to school is one of those activities!) and the inclusion of sight words is helpful. The activities at the end of the book are also a great addition. I would definitely recommend this for a preschool classroom. This seems like a great series of books for the young learner!

This would be great for early readers. The illustrations are simple and help define the points made in the sentences.

The picture glossary and list of common sight words at the beginning is good for teaching purposes. The suggestions for parents at the end reinforce this. The repetition in the story also makes this good for learning. The story was cute, and the illustrations were appropriate.

What a sweet book about expressing feelings and what makes us happy. Its a great way to show all kids that feelings are ok and they should be expressed.

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

I think we love and enjoy the books more that have to do with their lives (ie more of a little bit of a plot) versus the ones focused more on education (like the one with the Alphabet for example). Another simple story with our Dear Dragon that was super fun and cute! A really great premise honestly if you ask me, something that’s important for kids even at an early age to focus on! Happy things! We had a lot of fun with this one!

This is another in the Dear Dragon series for the most beginning readers. Young learners will be delighted to be able to read this book with its repetition and simple vocabulary. There are activities suggested at the end of the book for reinforcement of the learning and for fun.

Early readers will read about what makes Dear Dragon and his friends happy. The pictures will also help them in decoding the text.

This series is recommended for the emerging reader. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this book in exchange for an honest review.

We are Happy Dear Dragon is a great book to teach children new words relating to being happy. The list at the beginning and the activity at the back are really great tools.

The clean images and easy language are a great way for children to learn.

This little guy is expressing his happiness to his dragon, yeah, I know it's basic, simple and repetitive in some words but guess what, it’s for kids and let’s not kid ourselves here, no pun, intended we all learn by repetition. It is a fun and educational way for a child to learn how to express themselves simple and eloquently.
