Addie desperately needs someone high profile to help her with the multiple sclerosis society she is presiding over and no one she knows is available so she decides to "kidnap" Nashville Slammers Sawyer McBain and after that happens she tells him that he can ask for a favor in return, he accepts and they are soon solving their problems together and starting to fall in love.
This was the sweetest love story for me, the way their relationship developed was so cute, and the couple's relationship and dialogue with Sawyer's grandma was very sweet and tender.
This is a great book series and I hope there are still a lot more love stories to come with the other guys!!

Catching her Heart by Jody Holford a four-star read that will catch you. This is a for Love of the Game Romance but they can be read as stand-alone, in some places this deserves five-stars, but then it seemed to lack in a couple of others. Addison Carlisle is a whirlwind of a woman, she is so busy helping others, that she missed herself sometimes, but it’s what pushes her to be the woman anybody would be proud of. On the flip side Sawyer McBain is someone who hasn’t had anyone in his life for a long time who does things for other people, will Addie be the one who can show him that people really care and they will do things without wanting anything , or is the mistrust already too deep? When you throw in some amazing secondary characters you get a great story.

Addie and Sawyer work for the same Major League Baseball team - Addie as an executive and Sawyer as the star catcher. They first meet when Addie “kidnaps” Sawyer to attend a charity event. It doesn’t take long for them to become friends and then more. Addie has been focused on her family and career, so having a relationship was really on the back burner. Sawyer has a challenging family, which has led him to build up walls. The question is, can Addie break down those walls and help Sawyer learn to trust again?

This book is a follow up to an earlier book in the series about Addie’s best friend and team owner Isla and retired player Cruz. It was nice getting to catch up with developments in their lives as well.

Fell in love with the effervescent Addie in book one of this series. Addie getting her man in book two was a grand slam.

Sawyer was a true catch. He comes off a surly, quiet, a grouch. Poor Sawyer, if you had his family stress you would feel or act that way too. Addie saw the true man Sawyer was one on one. Loving, caring, loyal and oh yeah, sexy. Sawyer feels so different with Addie, she makes him want more. What all the entails or how to handle it with vultures for a mom and brother and a career hanging by a thread with his injury, Sawyer is set to catch the girl.

I really enjoyed this one. This is a great series!

I received an advanced reader's copy of Catching Her Heart by Jody Holford from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had read another book by Jody Holford previously and enjoyed it so I did have high hopes for Catching Her Heart and, happily, was not disappointed!

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and I found it to be well written. The primary characters' romantic start was both meet-cute and subtly showcased their chemistry, then Catching Her Heart just got warmer from there. I enjoyed the well-crafted characters, the witty banter, and the pacing of the novel. The plot moved along steadily and kept me engrossed from start to finish.

All in all, a good read!

This is the second book in the author's A Love For the Game series. I enjoyed the first one and this was one was good as well. It is a somewhat sweet romance set in the baseball world. Addie is somewhat scattered but has a big heart and Sawyer has issues but really falls for Addie. They have a great relationship. I would recommend this one.

I was given an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Cute and sweet story about a loner baseball player with a bad reputation. Abbie is a sweet and somewhat crazy girl who kidnaps him to help her with her MS cause. The book started off oneway and they went another. I was hoping more of a rom com. This was a sweeter story with deeper issues.

So sweet and adorable, this clean romance has all the feels and a connection between the characters that you can feel from the very beginning. I loved this charming sports romance, which pairs a jaded pro baseball player with a woman who only sees potential for good in the world. The story follows Addie, the new wellness advisor of sorts for a pro baseball team. She’s trying to help raise money for MS and promised to bring a celebrity to an event, but a last minute cancellation leaves her desperate to find a replacement. Knowing that catcher Sawyer (who is notoriously shy of events) is arriving at the airport, she poses as his driver and brings him to the event under duress. Sawyer believes there must be something in it for her, but once he realizes that Addie is just out to do good, he can’t help but want to spend more time with this woman who seems too good to be true - even if it’s only to prove himself right. As they begin trading favors and spending more time together, Sawyer’s walls slowly come down and he learns to trust in Addie’s goodness.

I read a lot of sports romance, and this one is done in a truly unique way. Yes, Sawyer is a commitment-phobic former playboy, but circumstances have made him that way. His life is not as ideal as it seems to the world, and that has broken him down over the years. He only has eyes for Addie in this, and I loved how smitten he was from the start. It was great to really see him come into his own, and the book follows their relationship in real time, with all the highs and lows that come with that. If you’re looking for steam, this isn’t the book for you but the connection between these two opposites is fantastic and easily felt without any explicit details. There’s a sweetness to the writing that makes even the heavier scenes feel light, and ultimately it’s a really feel good book. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to see which player falls next.

What a wonderfully sweet romance.

“Regardless of what happens this season, I think you might be my greatest catch ever.”

For Addie the glass is always half full, NOT half empty, and it actually makes her happy creating happiness for other people. Previous experiences, have left Sawyer way more guarded, which creates a nice dynamic i their relationship. The whole swapping IOU makes this romance extra enjoyable.

You can probably tell, that I really liked Sawyer and Addie!

This was my first book by Jody Holford, but certainly not the last.

The story of Sawyer and Addison. They meet when Addison 'kidnaps' him to get him to help her out at a charity event. Soon they are doing favours for each other, as they continue to owe each other. Great interaction between the two main characters, and also nice to catch up with the characters from the previous book too.

A fun and entertaining read.

This is Addison and Sawyer book, Sawyer is a MLB player for the Nashville slammers and Addison is an executive for the slammers organization. When Addison shows up at the airport to pick up Sawyer he thinks it’s a little strange but goes with her anyway! Everything seems fine until she passes his exit and apartment and keeps driving!! Maybe she’s a crazed fan?! Maybe she’s a kidnapper?! No Addison just needs a baseball player to be auctioned off at her charity’s function for MS ! But in return he wants some favors! Soon their trading some crazy IOUs and trying to keep the heat from burning them both! This book was an ok read it was well written and enjoyable although a little tame for my taste but worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Addie tends to babble at times, “I thought, oh, that’s okay. Still plenty of time, right? How hard can it be to make cookies? It’s not like I’ve never made cookies.” A man needs time to recuperate, “I need food, woman. You can stare at me like that again after we eat.” I liked this book, I loved Sawyer and Addie.

Loved this book!!! Sawyer is the catcher for a MLB team in Nashville and is a bit jaded on people after his parasitic family members have done their best to extract every dollar possible from him, treating him more like an ATM rather than a son or brother. Addie is a member of the staff for his team and is responsible for player wellness and special projects and has a perpetually sunny personality. Her family, while not perfect, is everything that Sawyer's is not.

They first meet when Addie attempts to kidnap him to get his help with a special project near and dear to her heart. While a bit annoyed, he agrees to help, but tells her she'll owe him a favor. Thus begins their relationship and the trading of favors back and forth.

I loved the way their relationship unfolded and the way they interacted together. The author made me feel like I was a part of their story and made me invested in their getting a HEA ending. While this is the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last and I'm looking forward to reading more books by her.
