Four stars!

Second chance romance with a healthy dose of intrigue and drama.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

Lethal Redemption by April Hunt is book Two in the Steele Ops Series. This is the story of Cade Wright and Grace Steele. I have read the previous books but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Grace is a FBI Profile agent who works hard to help others and her job. So when she is requested to help the Vice Presidents daughter who has ended up with the same Cult that Grace escaped from she goes forward to do so. This also puts her back with Cade a man who she loved but they broke up and now she has to pretend to be with him again. This was a very exciting read that touched your heart with a second chance romance.
Loved it!

Talk about a fast paced, suspenseful novel! Non stop action and I loved the second chance romance. More books need hero’s and heroines like these! Great job! Will be stalking you now!

I've been enjoying these characters, and this series so much! This is book 2, and it's a second chance romance.

Grace Steele grew up, from age 13 on, as the only girl in a family of boys. Her Aunt Cindy took her in, along with Cindy's 4 crazy teenage sons, Grace's cousins. But from age 5-13, after the death of her father, she lived with her mother in a cult. Those years are still painful for her to think about, and she's locked it all away for years. Now, she's an FBI agent, and profiler, and she's been tasked with rescuing a VIP's daughter from the very cult she grew up in. Now all her bad memories and feelings are returning, along with another thing from her past, her childhood sweetheart turned heartbreak, Cade Wright.

Cade Wright works with his 4 best friends in their private security firm, Steele Ops, doing jobs the government and military can't, or won't, do. Before that he worked as a D.C. detective, and before that, he was an Army Ranger. 9 years ago, when he signed up for another 4 years in the Army, without talking about it with Grace first, and ruining all the plans they had for their future, he lost her, and he's regretted it every day since. When the case comes up that's forcing her to revisit her painful past, he insists on being right there with her, both to help her heal, and watch her back during their undercover op. He's also determined to make her want to give him a second chance.

Cade and Grace had always had mega chemistry, even when she was acting like she hated him, and I loved their dynamic. I have a love/hate relationship with second chance romance. It usually has SO MUCH ANGST, but this one didn't have a ton, and I was thankful. There had been so much time in between, plus they both really had to be focused on the case, and always looking out for danger, so I guess that kept it from being overly dramatic. Additionally, part of the main drama came from them both finally getting honest about their pasts, both as a couple and individually, in order to truly move on. I appreciated their connection, and I loved their banter.

Cade and Grace both have awesome families, and I loved any time they were all together. Grace's cousin Roman will be the hero of book 3 and I can't wait for that story! He's so grumpy, and surly, and I love it. Getting to see the other new employees of Steele Ops was fun too. Tank is so great, and I would love to see him get his own story one day!! I liked that there was a little more closure here between Cade and his long-lost father, General Wilcox, Steele Ops' benefactor. I felt that was left pretty open-ended in book 1, after Cade and his sister Zoey (the heroine of book 1) found out about their connection to him. I was glad to see that resolved more completely.

The suspense plot was exciting, and you were always waiting for everyone in the cult to find out Grace and Cade's true intentions. It kept me on my toes, and I was always waiting for the fallout. Most of those poor people were so scarily misguided it was just sad. Of course, many of them had turned downright evil in order to comply with the wishes of the community, and it's leaders. It was an interesting look into cults and brainwashing, without getting overly technical. Grace really understood these people, having been in the cult herself, and she also knew how best to reach them, with her understanding of psychology and the human psyche, as a profiler. I loved watching Cade follow her lead, and be happy and proud that she let him have her back. They were awesome together.

I really enjoyed this story, and I'm looking forward to dropping back into this world again for book 3!

Amazing story. Great characters! Fantastic Romance!

Lethal Redemption is the second book in April Hunt’s Steele Ops Series. This is an action-packed, second chance, military-style romantic suspense novel with no cheating and a happily ever after.

It’s been nine years since FBI Profiler, Grace Steele and former Ranger, Cade Wright have been together. Poor communication, bad decisions and secrets have kept the childhood sweethearts apart. But now they must work together to extract a young woman from the clutches of a cult, New Dawn. The same cult that helped mold Grace’s childhood. Can Grace and Cade put their past behind them to accomplish their mission? Can Cade protect Grace from the demons haunting her? Will they finally achieve their happy ending? Read it and find out!

I discovered April Hunt and this series while searching Netgalley. The cover drew my attention and once I read the synopsis I was hooked. I love action packed, military stories with a side of romance and a whole lot of chemistry. I hate starting a series in the middle, so prior to reading Lethal Redemption, I read the first book in her Steele Ops Series. I enjoyed it immensely and I thought that Lethal Redemption was a great second book for the series.

Hunt has created a storyline and a cast of characters that draws the reader in and leave us craving more. She is a phenomenal writer, who’s story telling ability keeps you hanging as you go page by page. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

All the books in this series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself.

I'm so glad that I grabbed this book. It's a keeper as far as I am concerned.
I really liked April Hunt's writing style. The descriptive way she wrote things is easy to feel the power of the words. They often made me smile and it flowed without being cheesy. I continued to enjoy the story because of it's strong emotional and action intensity. The story really pulled me in as it got more and more intense.
I couldn't have asked for more interesting and complex main characters. Even the relationship between Grace and Cade had layers to it.
Grace's male cousins have Grace and Cade's back in this "adventure". They are all smart, big, strapping guys who are mainly ex-military in some form or another. They love Grace and she loves them in a kind of huffy way. The guys also have a healthy respect for not getting on her bad side. Which also leads to some funny conversations at times.
It was quite an intense roller coaster ride. But watch out for that sharp turn towards the end if you're on board. That twist was unexpected. Something that I never saw coming. I don't like actual roller coasters but this story gets two thumbs up from me.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

I enjoyed Lethal Redemption as a romantic suspense story. I thought it had a great start, with FBI profiler Grace Steele being invited to a meeting with the vice president. His daughter has been taken by a cult that Grace was raised in, and the VP wants Grace to help him get his daughter back. Only problem is that she has to team up with her ex-lover to do it. Cult stories are hard for me for some reason, they just stress me out! But this was action packed.

Fans of romantic suspense will find a lot to enjoy in April Hunt's latest.

I don't read nearly enough romantic suspense novels, but the fast-paced and engaging Lethal Redemption reminded me of all of my favorite crime shows. The book follows FBI profiler Grace Steele and veteran and former detective Cade Writer on a mission to infiltrate the cult she grew up in to rescue the Vice President’s daughter.

Almost a decade after their emotional breakup, Grace and Cade find themselves working together on a case. Cade now works for the private security firm owned by Grace's cousins, and he's determined to win back her heart. Meanwhile, Grace is having a hard time forgetting that Cade threw their relationship away when he decided to reenlist in the army without consulting her.

The two must fake a relationship to infiltrate the cult that Grace grew up in, but this quickly turns into a real second chance for them both. Fans of second chance romances will particularly enjoy this. Personally, I love a good fake relationship, and I found myself wanting a bit more angst and tension before they got back together.

This is the second book in the series, and it can easily be read as a standalone. It also included a tantalizing excerpt of the third book, which completely hooked me and I can’t wait to check it out. This is the first book I've read by April Hunt, and I'm definitely interested in reading more from her.

Lethal Redemption is the second book of the Steele Ops series and it is exactly what I hoped would be different than the first book, Deadly Obsession. I got more of the action and law enforcement work and a bit less of the romance.

I enjoyed being back in the overall world with the characters I already knew and had started to love. The second book in a series always has this advantage. It's also easier when it is a second chance romance. Grace and Cade were high school sweethearts. He left Grace for more military service nine years ago. Now Cade has left the DC police to join the Steele Ops team, while Grace is an FBI agent based in NY.

Grace is called in to work a case because of her personal background with a cult. She has Steele Ops as her backup team. Cults are scary things because they mess with your head and the only logic they recognize is their own with everything for the good of the one. I felt real suspense when they went to join New Dawn.

The case brought Grace and Cade together and had them working very closely. It also forced them to face their fears and communicate honestly with each other. It felt amazing to see them progress and work through their personal and couple issues while doing a very difficult job undercover. I really liked the handling of the professional and personal aspects.

“More? You want what? You want love ballads and sonnets? A picket fence and two-point-oh children?”
“Years down the line? Maybe. But for now I'd settle for a clean slate and an honest-to-God stab at a second chance.”

Having thoroughly enjoyed Deadly Obsession, which was the first book in this series of interconnected standalones, I was pretty jazzed to read Cade and Grace's story. I found it to be an edge-of-your-seat suspense with a hefty dose of romance and heat, and more than enough banter to make me smile.

This was, simply put, a really enjoyable book. Though I felt it slowed a little through the middle, it was all the while engaging and exciting and sweet; a very well-written example of one of my favorite tropes—second chance romance. There was action, sex, snippy comments (and a sniper), wrapped in a mystery that would actually make good TV (can we make that happen? I'd definitely watch it), and a love that was solidly built on an off-page, in-the-past foundation.

Ultimately, Lethal Redemption offered a foray into forgiveness and redemption that was super rewarding and super sexy, and I have no doubt that I'll be back for a third go-around with the Steele Ops team when the next book releases.

This is a first read for me by April Hunt. I really enjoyed this book. Great characters, and main couple with 2nd chance romance also has a story with good suspense. Such a page turner and I look forward to more!

LOVED this book! I loved Grace and Cade's story and l couldn't put this book down! This is fast paced romantic suspense at its best. I loved Grace's backstory of being in a cult and the added layers it brought into the story. Cade is positively swoon-worthy and the ultimate sexy warrior.

I was immediately immersed in this novel and felt invested in the characters story and wanting them to get their HEA ending. Cade and Grace's teenage romance was so sweet, even though it collapsed as they were young adults.

The author is on my must read authors' list and, if you're a fan of the genre, should probably be on your must read list as well. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone book, however, it's so good that you really owe it yourself to read them all.

Lethal Redemption is all about infiltrating a cult that had managed to get the Vice President's caught to join. The only was to make that happen is to work with someone who was once apart of this group. This book is an edge of your seat read that I absolutely enjoyed reading.

Hunt writes solid books. Her writing is good and the stories interesting. I liked Grace and Cade and there was plenty of action to keep me involved. They've got a lot to overcome and need to discuss it honestly but that, of course, takes most of the book to get to. The attraction hasn't been dampened by the years of avoidance and distance. The situation couldn't be much more dire and the two find themselves at great danger from those they need to expose. I like my romances with good suspense and this book had both.

Lethal Redemption 💣

“Is there really was such a thing as New Dawn, Cade Wright stood right in the middle of hers”

When Estelle recommended this romantic suspense to me I didn’t know I was gonna be in for such a wild road. Shout out to my friends over at @readforeverpub for the free copy in exchange for my review! #partner
The sexual tension starts off within the first ten pages which is just the right amount of time to set the tone for the story and drawn you in. However, the first 100 pages are more FBI/CSI like than romance. The romance remains throughout the book but the story is definitely suspense based. But let me tell you when the romance hits in this book it’s hits HOT! I’d give it a solid 🔥🔥🔥.5 on the steam chart.
This book gave me allllll of the FBI tv show feels. The main character deliberately kept putting herself in harms way and it gave me allllll the anxiety 🙈 Both of the main characters were so incredibly strong and I loved how they both had their own faults that they talked about and didn’t put the other down. For my first romantic suspense this one was definitely the perfect one to start with!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This Romantic Suspense has an intriguing storyline. Cade and Grace go undercover to get the president's daughter out of a cult. The cult is a nightmare from Grace's past. Lethal Redemption is an interesting read with good characters.

The story pick up where Steele ops book one leaves off. This isn't really a stand alone novel. The characters and story flow better starting with the first book due to many different characters.

Grace and Cade work will together and their romance makes since as well a their concern for each other. The story is interesting with the cult, mother wanting more out of life. Parts of the story felt as if they were written with a different story in mind and tossed in without the right balance to make the story flow evenly.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of April Hunt by Lethal Redemption.

Lethal Redemption is book two in the Steele Ops series. It is Grace and Cade's story and can be read as a standalone.

Grace is a tough, take no prisoners, FBI agent. Her next op takes her back to DC where her family and her ex, live. There is a lot of history between Grace and Cade and they didn't exactly end on good terms. She's forced to work with him again when her cousins security firm request her help to rescue the Vice Presidents daughter from the very cult Grace walked away from when she was 13.

Cade grew up with the Steele brothers and dated Grace for many years until they parted ways. He's newly hired into Steele Ops just as Grace returns to work with them. He may have been the one to walk away from Grace, but things aren't always what they seem. You don't really learn the full truth of what happened with them at first but you can tell from the very beginning that Cade never got over her. However Grace is not feeling all warm and fuzzy to be forced to work with Cade.

As far as second chance romance goes, this is the type I like to see. The fact that Cade never got over Grace and actively pursues her, makes up for him walking away all those years ago. I'm a sucker for a guy-chase-girl story. I also really liked how tough Grace was. She can handle her own and I love that in a heroine.

Overall, for my first book from April Hunt, this was a good one to dip my toes into. Grace's cousins, the Steele brothers, seem like they will provide very entertaining books of their own. I will definitely be reading more in this series.

Grace Steele is an FBI profiler - who is called upon to help on a special mission she is uniquely qualified for. It isn’t her profiling skills that are needed this time - it’s her knowledge and history.

When Grace was a little girl, her mom moved them to live with the Order of the New Dawn - a cult. Now someone very important is in the cult and it’s up to Grace and the Steele Ops team to extract her. If that wasn’t already the last place she wanted to be - she’s also going to have to go undercover partnered with Cade, her first love that ended badly 17 years ago.

This book was a wild ride with so many great elements:

✔️Second chance romance
✔️Cult
✔️Suspenseful moments that will have you on the edge of your seat
✔️A plot that will have you rapidly turning pages to see what happens next

This is the second book in the series and while I do think it added something to have read the first, you could also read it as a stand-alone.

Thank you so much to Forever and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.

Intrigue and danger highlight this psychological thriller. Steel Ops enlists the assistance of an FBI profiler, who happens to be their cousin, to infiltrate a modern day cult and retrieve the vice president’s daughter. Grace and Cade must face their past in order to work effectively on this mission. This book keeps you on your toes trying to figure out how the present was determined by past deeds and how to prevent further damage. The romance was present and set the background and future. The fact that Grace and Cade worked as equals, respecting the value and skills they each brought, was a joy to read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
