Wonderful entertaining Christmas story! Great characters, Irish temper, male confusion and a cute baby, what more could you ask for? Bridget and Maverick have a chance meeting in a pub in Ireland, a passion filled one night, nothing more-he's headed home to Texas and she's staying there, a night of memories. But when Bridget's live takes a turn, best friend dies leaving her an unexpected mother and her beloved grandmother passes away, she's left with a baby in her arms and no home, until her grandmother's best childhood friend offers her a job at her ranch with she's mending a broken hip, this is ideal, roof over her and her baby's heads and job where she can keep her baby close. In steps her employer's grandson...her one night stand...on all the ranches in Texas...Maverick is thrown for a loop, the woman her never thought he's see again is standing in his grandmother's house, holding a baby that has his green eyes and dark hair! A very fun read! Can't wait for the next cowboy!

Maverick, a Texas cowboy and Bridget, an Irish lass with multiple jobs meet in Ireland one Christmas. They share a wonderful night and it's over way too soon, I

Switch ahead to one year later. So much has changed in Bridget 's life. She's guardian to her best friend's daughter, her gram has passed, she's homeless at Christmas but blessed to have her gram's best friend in Texas ask for her help as she recuperates. UNbeknownst to Bridget, she's Maverick 's grandmother, so they're on a collision course.

It's a journey of discovery for both Maverick and Bridget as they come to grips with their feelings. Will she and her foster daughter stay in Texas or return to Ireland? Will Maverick go back with her to Ireland when his gram is recuperated? You'll have to read this great story to find out!

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for my honest opinions.

This was a heartwarming story. Maverick and Bridget were endearing characters with great chemistry. There were many great secondary characters including the cat and dog who were adorable. This well written story was character driven with a heartwarming storyline. I would definitely recommend this book.

Carolyn Brown delivers a pleasant heartfelt story perfect for the holiday season. If you are looking for a lighthearted, low angst book to pass a bit of time around the holiday season, then this book is for you. Grab a cup of tea, your comfiest throw and snuggle down into your favorite chair and dive in to Maverick and Bridget’s story. There is plenty of humor scattered throughout along with many enjoyable moments with friends and family, some romance – sweet and sensual, and an adorable baby to round out the storyline. It was a great addition to the Longhorn Canyon series.

If you’re looking for a sweet and mostly clean small town romance with plenty of heart, this book definitely delivers. Christmas with a Cowboy brings a wild Texan and an Irish girl together at Christmastime (with a baby thrown in the mix). Decidedly low angst and with a laidback feel, this book moves at its own pace. The writing is solid and the characters are likeable (now that Maverick has cleaned up his act). Add in a baby and there are plenty of adorable moments.

The story follows Maverick, a cowboy who accompanies his grandmother on a trip to Ireland. On his last night in the country, he meets Bridget and feels an instant connection. He’s knows she’s not a one night stand kind of girl, but that’s all the time he has left so they share one memorable evening together before parting ways. Fast forward one year later, and the two meet again - this time as Bridget takes over the care of Maverick’s grandmother in Texas. It would seem that they have a second chance to do things right, but as Bridget learns more about Maverick’s wild ways, she’s not sure that she’s willing to give him that opportunity - especially now that’s she’s taken over custody of a baby.

There are some seriously adorable moments featuring Maverick and the baby, which definitely made it easier to like this playboy cowboy. It’s clear that he feels a connection to Bridget, but he’s never been serious about a woman and isn’t sure that he’s ready to be now. I loved the time he spent with the baby, which lightened the book considerably. It’s definitely a laidback book with low angst, and at times got to be a little slow. I found myself skimming in a few places, but I did enjoy the story. It’s a sweet book that’s perfect for the holiday season, and I thank NetGalley for providing me with an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this holiday romance.

Christmas With a Cowboy is the latest offering by busy author Carolyn Brown. Set in small town Daisy, Texas about an hour outside of Amarillo at the Callahan Ranch, the story actually begins in County Cork, Ireland. Maverick Callahan has escorted his widowed grandmother to visit her lifelong friend Virgie back in Granny’s home country. On his last night there, Maverick meets and becomes intrigued by a fiery redhead named Bridget. After sharing some drinks, some food, and an intense, but out of character, night together, Bridget must hurry off to meet her Nana for church, leaving Maverick to leave on his own. They don’t exchange full names, phone numbers, or emails, but Maverick did snap a picture before she left.

A year later, Iris Callahan has needed knee surgery but refuses going to rehab, preferring to get help on her own. Her dear friend Virgie passed away earlier in the year and Virgie has left behind her dear granddaughter, Bridget. Bridget is reeling not only from her dear Nana’s passing, but also the loss in an accident of her best friend Deidre. As the godmother to Deidre’s baby girl Laela, Bridget has also been put in the place of instant mother. Iris decides the best way to help Bridget and honor her friend is to bring Bridget to Daisy as her live in caretaker. The fact that her grandson Maverick also comes home to help is just icing on her cake!

When Iris falls in church, she ends up back in the hospital and ultimately decides to go to the rehab center. This leaves Maverick and Bridget on their own at the ranch. The interplay between these characters as they sort through their feelings and futures is very real. Maverick’s feelings for Bridget are apparent, but his love for little Laela is palpable. How can they sort through so much before Christmas?

This is a delightful Christmas book with exceptionally well depicted characters in a romantic rural setting. It is the kind of story to curl up with under a warm blanket knowing the story will make you feel warm and fuzzy, just not sure how but along for the ride to find out. Plus, this book comes with a delightful novella titled Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas by Sara Richardson as an extra holiday gift! I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it wholeheartedly!

I hate to say this, because I know Carolyn Brown is a beloved cowboy romance author, but....this was just so boring! The story dragged, the characters were bland. Maverick was so immature, I had a hard time seeing him as a solid romantic interest for Bridget. He did a lot of stupid things, and I was not ever really feeling their relationship. Let’s be honest, he wasn’t either for a while in the book. Obviously I’m in the minority, so maybe this just isn’t the author for me.

What a great story! I loved the mix of a Texas cowboy and an Irish lady. Such a refreshing change for a romance story. Two cultures that are so different. Maverick and Bridget have such wonderful chemistry and are really perfect for each other. The characters are well defined and the story is well paced, well written, and was a delight to read.
The book has a bonus story from Sara Richardson called Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas. Her story is about new beginnings and granting forgiveness. I loved this story as it was well written and inspiring. This book with two Christmas stories was a gift to read and I highly enjoyed it.

A sweet Christmas romance between a Texas cowboy and an Irish lass. Maverick Callahan accompanied his grandmother, Iris, to Ireland to visit her dear friend, Virgie. While there, Maverick met and fell a “little in Love” with Bridget O’Malley. Although leaving for Texas the next day, they spent one magical night together. A year later, he finds Bridget living with his grandmother along with her baby goddaughter, Laela. Laela’s parents were killed in an accident leaving Bridget to raise their precious daughter. Bridget’s grandmother, Virgie, had passed away and having no place to go Bridget accepted Iris’s offer to come to Texas. Will Bridget move back to Ireland or will the renewed attraction between them keep her in Texas? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. Cowboys, romance, and Christmas! Perfect combination. Carolyn Brown has done it again with a beautiful Christmas read.

Maverick and Bridget, one from Texas, the other from Ireland. What are the chances of love conquering that distance?

I laughed out loud, rolled my eyes, and teared up with this book. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop, you know, the "big argument or misunderstanding". I'm glad to report it didn't happen! See, not all romance need a big deal issue. It can be done without and still be great!

Love it, highly recommend for fellow romance readers.

Another very entertaining and heartfelt read from Carolyn Brown. I always get a rush of the sweet feels when I grab one of her books, and Christmas with a Cowboy was no different. Bridget was, for me, a very relatable heroine—I know all about being a foreigner in the American south—with her indecisiveness and homesickness. Maverick, meanwhile, was all the swoony cowboy I could handle. I mean, put man with baby and you get me all melty, but make him a rugged Texan and I'm done. Stick a fork in me LOL.

While Christmas with a Cowboy was choppy at times (and a little inconsistent), it was also an easy, lighthearted read. For someone looking for a good time with majority happy times and very little in the way of tension, this one is sure to be a winner. For me, it was a few hours well spent and an enjoyable start to the Christmas romance season.

Christmas with a Cowboy
Sometimes a story doesn’t need drama or someone to be the hero. I felt like that was the case with this story. Every character was a hero in his or her own way. It was such a cute love story but also a story of belonging and finding home. I love Granny what a pistol she was so fun to read about. I really can’t wait to read Alana and Paxton’s story or should I say I hope that’s were it’s going. This book implies sex but over all the author kept it clean.

Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas

I really enjoyed this book over all. I loved being able to catch up with the other characters from this series as well. I really enjoy when and author can take a child and have there personality shine through on the pages and the author did that with not just one child but three it added hugely to a fun story. This is a short read but packed with a lot fun and emotions you will find your self laughing and crying. Over all this book shows what Christmas, Family and forgiveness is all about. You will not be disappointed with this fun read. I think the only thing I did not like about this book is that it was too short. There is adult situations in this book.

You can't go wrong when reading a CB book. Recipe for a guaranteed Christmas book that is sure to please includes one precious baby, sassy seniors, and a hunky Texas cowboy who has a huge heart. Bridgit met Maverick in Ireland and they meet up again on his family's ranch. Sparks fly in the Lone Star state between the two, but although Bridigit yearns for Ireland she discovers there is much to love in Texas. Maverick makes a woman melt while Bridget's lilt would entrance men.

CHRISTMAS WITH A COWBOY is a rather simple story about a guy who figures he has years more to play the field before being ready to settle down. And then realizes his plans are about to be altered in a big way.
CHRISTMAS WITH A COWBOY is another delightful story from the heart of Carolyn Brown who creates some of the best characters.
Maverick Callahan and Bridget O’Malley have more in common than they would ever expect. Both have enjoyed life with many freedoms to do what makes them happy. Family and friends that supported and loved them. Understanding about mutual respect and responsibility for those family members and friends. Neither one looking to settle down as of yet but each pictures some sort of future with dare they dream or hope for a family of their own.
But life has a way of interrupting plans and life definitely had other plans for Mav and Bridget.
Mav and Bridget’s lives cross not once but now twice and it does seem as though fate is playing a pretty impressive hand.
Maverick’s grandmother has her roots in Ireland. She met her Texas cowboy and knew exactly what her life choice was going to be. Her best friend was still in Ireland and both she and Maverick had gone there for a visit.
That’s when Mav met Bridget. Neither one knew anything about the other except that the attraction was immediate if not doomed from the start.
Fast forward a year and Bridget is now in Texas and in of all places at Mav’s grandmothers ranch helping out her grandmothers best friend. Are you getting the picture?
Neither had any idea that they shared this connection. But they share quite a bit more. That attraction has been left to simmer and never cooled down. So here is Bridget in Mav’s world, now the guardian of her friend’s baby, with no real ties to Ireland left except the deep down emotional bond of her homeland.
It was bound to be a battle between Mav and Bridget. The heart knows what the heart wants but both Mav and Bridget are afraid to make that leap of faith. They are both at odds over following their hearts into this very new territory for each of them. Attraction is one thing. Love and commitment are still another. And of course there is the matter of trust.
Mav has enjoyed his life as a bachelor with an eye for a lovely lady. The evidence of that life is quite apparent to Bridget who herself is no wilting flower. But Bridget also gets to see a side of Mav she never expected. Does she take a chance on this Maverick?
So Carolyn Brown has some roots herself in Ireland and in CHRISTMAS WITH A COWBOY she decides to merge her two words in a very entertaining tale. A tale of two countries that takes place during Christmas which is of course filled with love and tradition. It wouldn’t be a Carolyn Brown story without those two very important elements. So sit back and enjoy CHRISTMAS WITH A COWBOY which will certainly make you laugh and smile.

Love at first sight
Texan Maverick Callahan accompanied his grandmother to Ireland and on the last day met Bridget O'Connor. It was love at first sight for both, but also an impossible situation. He was going back to Texas the next day and she would never leave her grandmother.
Fast forward a year, and Bridget has suffered terrible losses. Two of her best friends died leaving her with a tiny infant, followed swiftly by her grandmother's death, leaving her not only alone, but soon to be homeless too.
Enter Iris Callahan, Maverick's grandma and Bridget's grandmother's best childhood friend. When she learns of Bridget's plight, she offers salvation in the form of a temporary job, with room and board.
When they reconnect, they have no idea Iris was plotting for them to learn enough about each other to realize they were perfect for one another.
This sweet contemporary western romance is a page turner. It contains friends, family, sweet romance, sensual scenes and is peppered abundantly with humor.
I found it hard to put down when I had to.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC.....yessss...and recommend it to western romance and cowboy fans. It's a continuation in the wonderful Longhorn Canyon series.
Bonus
Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas by Sara Richardson
Kenna Hart's last year has been horrible. Her ex had committed insurance fraud against townspeople and she and her young boys had to live with everyone knowing what her did.
Tucker McGrath is here to help his mother Birdie set up her annual Christmas pageant and get home as quickly as possible. Avoiding Christmas had been his habit for years, ever since his father walked away just before Christmas.
Birdie has a medical issue and the pair must work closely together to make her pageant happen. As do the work they find the attraction they both wanted to ignore, was impossible to ignore. Helping each other with the pageant, birdie, the boys and other issues that cropped up demonstrated just how much they clicked. She decided a fling was just the thing to cheer her up and he decided a fling wasn't enough. To Birdie's delight they became a couple.

Ready for some Christmas spirit and a feel good book? Here it is! Likeable characters with lots of dialogue and Texas big personalities. Mrs. Brown never disappoints. Despite being predictable, with a just hint of maybe things will go wrong, and you're hoping it all goes right, it holds your interest all the way up to the end. A sweet, fun Christmas story. Put on the Christmas music, snuggle in a blanket, drink your hot chocolate and enjoy!
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC. I received this book as a complimentary copy for an unbiased review. The opinions expressed are my own.

This is a great Christmas time story! This book is the fifth book in the Longhorn Canyon series. Very enjoyable series. This book focused on the second chance romance of Maverick and Bridget. I found the story very heartwarming and engaging. Recommended!

Christmas With A Cowboy will definitely put readers in a Christmas spirit while entertaining them with a sweet story about second chances, family, soulmates and recognizing a good thing when the time is right. Maverick and Bridget had one glorious night together before he and his granny Iris returned to Texas from their trip to Ireland. The couple never exchanged last names so while Maverick often thought about the lovely Irish lass he had no way of reaching out to her. A year later Iris called him back to the family ranch to help while she recovered from hip surgery. Imagine his surprise when he encounters the housekeeper Iris has hired...the lovely Bridget... and her seven months old adopted daughter. Carolyn Brown never disappoints as her clever plot throws these two characters together in ways that are sure to bring smiles to readers’ faces. This volume also contains Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas by Sara Richardson. Ms. Richardson’s story is about two people who are about to discover that Christmas can bring new beginnings even to the most jaded...especially when seen through the eyes of children. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
