Love, love, love amnesia stories!

Jenna had an accident and was left with total amnesia-like can’t remember anything-but most importantly the love of her life, Max. Max saves her from a would be marriage that just felt wrong to her on every level. She leaves with him, knowing he is a stranger, but she feels it in her bones that it’s the right thing to do. They embark on a journey back to love.

I really enjoyed these characters! You can feel their emotions. I felt like I could be friends with them!! Such a good read!

This is the second book in the Billionaires and Babies romantic suspense mystery series by Alyssa J. Montgomery.

The beginning of this was very unique. I had to go back and check that my reader was at the beginning since I felt like I had fallen into the book in the middle. Jenna Sinclair had lost her memory and was coerced into marriage by an unrelenting step brother. Now she stands on the alter and a man Jenna doesn’t know shouts that this marriage isn’t taking place!

Things don’t fall together quickly for Jenna. She struggles to remember and the psychologist keeps her from the very part of her life that would help her remember more quickly. But they are going on the gentle path and only delving places when Jenna is emotionally ready.

This book was fascinating. It was a good thing both Jenna and Max were already independently wealthy because I don’t think a couple of poor folks could have withstood what happened here and in the aftermath of it all.

Just one great romantic suspense read. A guilty pleasure book for sure!

If you love romantic suspense, definitely check this one out.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Seduced by the Stranger took a few pages to hook me as I couldn’t understand why a grown woman, pregnant or not, would go ahead with a marriage she clearly wasn’t invested in. As the story progressed though I could my affection growing for heroine Jenna and Max, the man who she feels instantly drawn to. This sexy contemporary romance is fast paced and with fraud and attempts on Jenna’s life to keep things interesting it became a bit of a page turner for me.

I have read a lot of MS Montgomery’s stories and really enjoyed them all, but I think this might be her best one yet, I loved this one from page one, this is a beautiful romance as Jenna falls in love with the mans she has loved forever Max, but an accident has taken her memory and the seduction from Max to win her back is just so beautiful, I do hope that you pick this one up.

Jenna Sinclair is just about to walk down the aisle but she is having major thoughts about doing this her mind has been struggling to remember after an accident nearly kills her and this just does not feel right, nothing seems as it should be least of all the horrible dress she is in. When in walks a gorgeous stranger and stops the wedding and although Jenna has no memory of this man there is something that is telling her she can trust him. She is swept away by this man and starts on the road to recovery in the most sensual way.

Max Bennett is a billionaire these days, he grew up as a worker on a horse stud run by Jenna’s family and growing he and Jenna became fast friends and that grew into love as they became teenagers, but family ripped them apart and they lost touch but he never forgot his Jenna and when they found each other and she has agreed to be his wife, Jenna is snatched away again. When he finds her this time nothing will stop him from showing his love and marrying the woman he loves and who will be the mother of his child.

This is a story that had me turning the pages not only is there such a gorgeous romance as Max does what he can to help Jenna get her memory back but there is danger around the corner for Jenna and Max is doing what he can to protect her. From the start Max and Jenna were meant to be together the love they share shines from the pages of this book, there is tension, so much emotion, this one had me racing to the end even though I wanted to spend more time with them, this is a story that I highly recommend, I loved it and am looking forward to nook 3. Thank you MS Montgomery for a fabulous story.

So, I haven’t read the previous books but this can definitely be a stand alone. This book was slightly bizarre and a little all over the place for me, so that being said it was just ok. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC.

Seduced by the Stranger by Alyssa J. Montgomery is book Two in the Billionaires & Babies. This is the story of Jenna Sinclair and Max Bennett. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book. Jenna was in a 'accident' that left her with amnesia but her Step-Brother James has been taken care of her. Now James is insisting that Jenna was to marry David but she isn't so sure once she is in place too...something is telling her it is wrong. Then a man came through the doors saying he was Max and that she was to marry him.
This was a good amnesia, second chance at love story.

Jenna told her step-brother James she couldn’t get married today. She knew James and his wife Sally had taken care of her for months, but she tried to explain to James the arrangements had happened to fast. James replied “ this day has been planned for years.”Everything James said was logical yet jenna’s head continued to war with her heart. Deep within her was a conviction Jenna didn’t want to let anyone down as James reminded her people would be let down. She was so confused, pain lanced through Jenna’s head. These last five weeks it’s been all too easy to let James make all her decisions for her. James insisted the right thing to do was to marry David and be the wife he always wanted. James said her marriage would make everything clear. Jenna was convinced this wedding wouldn’t give her clarity. As hard as she tried to convince herself that she should place her trust in James , she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a bigger picture. Something she didn’t understand. She rested her bouquet against her twenty one week baby bump. She had to think of her baby. It was David’s child. As Jenna was to repeat her vows to david, someone yelled “Stop!” Than said “ “ This wedding is not taking place.” Frozen to the spot James was riveted by the handsome more who stode purposely down the aisle towards them Jenna had a violent tug of attraction to the stranger. The rector demanded the man’s name and he said Max bennett. Max had two cops with him that wanted to question James, Sally, and David. It involved matters of fraud, coherson, and deception which impacts directly on this wedding. Than one of the cops said they would need to speak to jenna at some point. James said Max wasn’t to be trusted, he was a fortune hunter. Max told jenna she was an heiress. Than she was told her step-brother had her sign papers to sign over her trust fund into his name as soon as she came to the hospital and he had been living on that. Max told her prior to her accident she had agreed to marry him and Max was the father of her child. Max had been looking for her for five weeks and they had hoped he’d never find her. A new Jenna- ons she didn’t recognize yet but was far more comfortable with emerged in the face of these soul-shattering revelations. Max also told her to search her heart and she would know he was the father of their baby. Jenna was suffering from Retrograde Amnesia. Max had been through hell. The first day because he hadn’t realized jenna was in a coma as he had turned off his phone for a business deal. Now the last words he heard from her haunted him. There had been two recorded messages. In the first one Jenna was furious with him which he would explain to her. Max came upon the scene of the accident after he had raced toward her as the second message said “They’re trying to kill me Max!!”
I enjoyed this read but did get confused at times. Also this dragged for me at times, I was I was so glad max showed up and stopped the wedding. I somehow just had to finish this I had to know wall that happened even if it did drag at times and some confusion. I felt bad the people jenna had trusted had been the one to steal from her and lie to her, using her for money. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

Seduced by the Stranger by Alyssa J. Montgomery
Billionaires & Babies #2

Head pounding dreading each step toward the altar Jenna Sinclair makes her way up the aisle to marry a man she has no interest in when in walks Max Bennett telling them to halt the proceedings. Jenna feels a bit happier in the presence of Max than she did with her “fiance”, brother and brother’s wife and that is how the book begins. The rest of the book is about Jenna’s loss of memory after an automobile accident and the search for those lost memories that might include who was chasing her and might wish her dead. There are a number of twists and turns before the two can achieve their HEA. I had trouble warming up to the characters and the plot seemed a bit predictable though the baddie was perhaps unexpected so that twist was a bit of a surprise.

Did I enjoy the book? It was okay
Would I read more by this author? Maybe

This is the type of story, that grips you and squeezes your heart. Yup, it’s an emotional read. The intensity of confusion and dread rolls off the page and you can almost feel it.

Jenna Sinclair was in a living hell, not knowing her own name and being forced into a marriage she wasn’t ready for or even wanted. On top of that, she’s pregnant and not feeling very confident to become a mother.

Max Bennet has been searching for weeks trying to find his fiancé, and made it in the nick of time.

The struggle Jenna faces is monumental, no memory, and trust is not something she can give. She’s been lied to, manipulated, cheated and almost killed. As she struggles to remember who she is and what the truth is can she come to terms with the facts that have complicated her life?

The author did a fabulous job describing what feelings a person goes through who has lost their memories and the struggle they face. I loved this story with the emotional suspense.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoy a good amnesia story: don't we all wish that we could forget entire time slots in our lives?! But in this case, Jenna's amnesia appears to be total: she cannot remember the love of her life, Max. This is a cute story, but the characters did not seem real to me. The writing is good, but there is a tendency to use all the usual tropes. to move the story along, and the dialogue is not always natural. Still, a good read, though. I rate this a 3.5 out of 5.

This book was hard to get into and Jenna frustrated me to no end. I get the wariness due to her memory loss, but it was annoying to see her ignore her instincts when she should trust them and vice versa. I just didn’t feel the connection between Max and her. The villain in the story was a let down and seemed like something randomly thrown in more than anything. Sadly, I would not recommend this book.

Jenna couldn’t possibly marry a man she really didn’t know. Her memory was gone. All she knew was the man who she was supposed to marry was someone she would never have looked twice at. No matter how demanding her brother and sister in law were she was steadfast and would not budge. It was her life after all. When things couldn’t get anymore confusing a stranger knocked on her door. Now this was a man that lit up every single nerve ending and the need to know more about him. After hearing his proposal she was hesitant to say no but the strength that embodied her very soul had her taking a chance that would change her life. Alyssa draws you in one word at a time until you are seduced by the stranger and are desperate to hear his every secret no matter the cost.

Alyssa J. Montgomery is a new author to this reader and I found it hard to get into the story “Seduced by the Stranger”. There was quite a bit of backstory that I found a bit confusing at times and thought I had missed something that was supposed to be important to the reader.

The plot was interesting but the pace of the story dragged. I totallygot that Jenna had been in a coma for 5 weeks and had amnesia but Max's seduction in trying to gain Jenna’s trust was not there. Although there was a but of mystery, I don’t think it was enough and some parts of the story was too underdeveloped.

I found myself skipping pages to get to some interesting parts. Although there was a HEA in the end, it took some working through all the twists and slow pace to get to the end. A little disappointing and fell short is too many places.

Thanks very much to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was an enjoyable read. The basic plot of the story, other than the love story between Jenna and Max, is to determine who caused Jenna’s accident that resulted in her memory loss. The way the author handled Jenna’s amnesia was very believable and added to the romance between her and Max. The reader got to rediscover the love between these two characters right there along with them.

My only criticisms of this book are that the author doesn’t spend enough time developing secondary characters or describing the physical appearances of the characters.

Every character other than Jenna and Max acted sort of like extras in a movie that are only there to fill the empty spaces, and didn’t really have any substance to them. Even Nick and Luca who are Max’s best friends and business partners and are mentioned throughout don’t really feel real. I don’t know if this is because they have/ will have their own stories in the series, but they just kind of fell flat here.

Also, the author is really good with describing locations like the architecture of buildings and landscapes, but she didn’t spend enough time on the physical appearances of the characters. I think Jenna and Max were the only ones who the reader is told both their hair and eye color, and even that was a bit delayed. The color of Jenna’s eyes is first mentioned in Chapter 3 and the color of her hair in Chapter 4. The only thing known about the appearance of the ultimate villain in the story is their eye color. Not even if they were tall or short, big, or small.

But if you can see past those issues, this really is a good read.
