I am not sure where i land, but the characters were okay, the smut were meh. But the story just did not capture me.

So, I know this is Science Fiction but the fact the Heroine falls in love with a supposed imaginary Hero so quickly, is for me just too far fetched.

This was a quick read with some sexy scenes and plenty of action.

If you want to read something with no real depth this may be for you.

An interesting concept that Im not sure 100% if the author pulled it off but I really admire her for trying to work through it. That sounds like damhing praise but really its a compliment.

I am a mood reader and this steamy short novel was perfect to flit in and out. A 3* star kinda novel.

Here's another book that seemed to have a lot of potential, but just didn't do much with it. The main couple seemed to have a connection and quite a bit of chemistry, but certainly not enough to sustain a relationship across galaxies. I really didn't get how this whole interstellar transportation cloning thing was supposed to work, let alone how Evander was saved at the end. The book definitely left a lot of unanswered questions, although it did hint at future volumes to perhaps answer some of those.

In the past, I’ve been a major contemporary reader, but I have been leaning hard into speculative romance this year. I have also been reading shorter books, which can be a good low-commitment way to try a new author. So this SFR novella hit the sweet spot between two of my current interests. When the blurb seemed to indicate the plot involved a sex-robot situation go awry, I decided to give it a try.

Cass, recently divorced and enjoying a weekend to herself, while her kids are on visitation on the other side of the planet with their father, takes her best friend’s advice and orders her home artificial intelligence system to create a temporary companion (i.e. sex robot), based on a swashbuckling space pirate comic book character she’s always had the hots for. But the AI is a black market model she got on the cheap and things quickly go haywire. Also, the artificial clone thinks he’s a real person, not a fictional character, but that’s got to be too good to be true, right?

This book has all the makings of a fun romp, but, unfortunately, it also has craft issues that hampered my enjoyment. The world building could have used some fine tuning. I spent a great deal of time confused about what the difference was between a clone and a replicant, and the characters used the two terms interchangeably, so that didn’t help. The sex scenes also needed major editing. I don’t tend to mind over-the-top descriptions or metaphors, but these scenes sort of read like an avalanche of weird cliches and they were difficult to get through.
If you’re looking for a quick novella featuring two horny people who bone while trapped in a murderous space house, this might be right up your alley.

What an interesting storyline - I really liked it and enjoyed the book. Good writing and a wonderful romance blended in.

This cover didn't wow me but I ended up enjoying the book. I do think that it could have been better but what I read was ok. I could see this one as a take it or leave it title. Maybe something to take to the beach on your kindle to read why you watch the waves. Life and death situations come to a head in this romance with AI and more! It felt very original and very unique.

This was a fun light read. Meaning there was no drama, no angst and it was 100% safe. It’s a romantic sci-fi romance that was really cute. I liked both MCs and just like Cass, I was completely crushing on Evan. He is every girl’s dream of a real life action hero :)

When recently divorced Cass gives in and requests her newly acquired A.I. to replicate a clone companion who looks like her girlhood crush, Star Knight Errant, Evander Mor of Exeter, a comic book hero, she thought it would be tiny harmless fling no one would ever know about.

The A.I. out does himself when Evan appears in her living room in all his big muscled glory. He has the same swagger, the same confidence and the same legendary flirty eyes. Only problem? He is convinced he isn’t a fabricated replica of a fictional character but a real life person (a whole galaxy away!) And the blue warrior priestess that follow to attack them, don’t either.

Turns out buying an A.I. from the black market comes with the it’s risks, including an illegal fight club program that has Cass and Evan fighting off enemies left and right. All while trying to find out how a fictional character from Earth is actually a real life prince from a galaxy far far away. Oh yeah, and this pesky little love bug that bites them both.

Like I said before, this is a cute read and I really enjoyed it. The malfunctioning AI bit was a bit confusing at times (especially in the beginning) because some of the explanation behind the glitch in the program fell a little flat. The world building is kept to a minimum but it doesn’t effect the story. Getting past that, the story was unique, charming with it’s insta-love and the heat was crazy good. Cass and her space warrior were interesting, likable and I was definitely rooting for their HEA.

This is a series so there is a cliffhanger at the end. Nothing major and I would say it could be read as a stand-alone. The story continues with Evan and Cass tracking down the guy who wrote real life Evan’s life story as a comic book. I’m definitely interested in what happens next and how Evan will get back home, safe the peace treaty and keep Cass by his side. It’s bound to be interesting (and sweet because it’s Evan we’re talking about!)

This was a quick, easy read that, while entertaining, didn't quite hit the right notes for 'sexy' for me. The romance is very instant - which is kind of understandable given the premise that Cass is programming a clone for a one night stand, but also, the characters are in love with each other within minutes. This is a personal taste thing, but I prefer characters to have to work at their attraction a little bit first.

I liked the idea of the AI gone rogue and turning the house into a fight club. I also liked that Cass doesn't rely entirely on Evan to save her - she's taking down a few of the bad guys, too. The section where she has to face up to some of her own demons works nicely, giving her some character development within the short space of the narrative.

Overall, a candyfloss type of story - sweet to taste, but lacking any sort of substance. Which is absolutely fine if candy floss is what you want. This would be a perfect little pick-me-up if you don't want to engage in something longer.

Class is a single mom who needs to get laid. So she has her A1 make a clone of her favorite action hero. In comes Evan. But is he just a clone or is he real? When the A1 system decides they need a challenge it creates a challenge for the. But it’s no longer fun! They have to fight for their lives!

I read this book as an arc from NetGalley. I gave it 4 stars

An exciting premise, hilarious and catchy tag lines, and a really great promise of world-building did not help prop up an otherwise hohum romance, replicant battling not with standing. This is a short novella and there are so many cool concepts, but the romance is insta-lust to insta-love and fine for a fun, quick read but something I'm glad I got to read for free. I hope the author explores the concept of using basically 3D printed clones who get to "travel" for you and then you absorb their memories once the body expires concept. How cool, just not enough character development to make this a romance and the sex scenes weren't super sexy (to me).

This book contains some interesting science fiction concepts - clone travel? Temporary AI companions made of flesh and blood? that's interesting. And super problematic, ethically.

I enjoyed the action plot in the first half, though the third AI "fighter" made me question the fight club program the AI was supposedly running. I was way more into the science fiction side of this story than the erotic romance side. I'm not sure I ever bought into romance.

I liked it, didn't love it, but it's a fast read and kind of bonkers. I'm curious where the science fiction/Star Knight plot is going in the rest of the series.

I received an ARC via Netgalley for review on goodreads and twitter.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a short sci fi romance that was a bit too futuristic for my taste. I couldn't tell if the clone the heroine created was real or from a different galaxy. Replicas from the heroines' past kept showing up attacking her. It was weird and chaotic. Didn't enjoy it as I thought I would.

My first Shelley novel and was pleased with the plot and humor involved in the prose. The characters - just did not bring the heat for me. Kind of a unique paring of a scientist and a fake comic book hero. Look forward to reading this author again.
