Although Ella grew up in Germany under Hitler’s regime, being taught from a young age to idolize the Nazi Party, as she reaches adulthood she chooses to become a part of the German Resistance.

I really knew nothing about the German resistance prior to picking up this book. But after finishing it, I know that I want to learn more. This book was a wonderful balance of fiction and historical information. The author has a gift for creating a sense of place whether the setting was on a snowy mountain or the streets of Germany in the early 1940’s. The pacing was great; I found myself reading before work, on my lunch break and late at night until I finished it. I hope the author continues to write in this genre.

Sascha was her code name. Her real name is Ella. She is a secretary to a high official in the Reich. She is in charge of files, putting them away in a tunnel filled with files. She gathers information and passes it along to Kristophe an Englush Agent.
She found herself being part of the resistance after helping hide a Jewish family in her Aunt Bridget's antique shop
She has seen fellow resistors come and go. Many have been captured and killed. She knows she loves each day on the edge of a sharp knife. She also knows that people you know the best can turn you into the Gestapo.
A story of you g rebels of the resistance. Trying to through the Nazi Government. They'll do anything they need to to survive and help others survive.
