An excellent Introduction to working with crystals. I found the descriptions of when and how to use crystals very helpful.

The case studies felt a bit fabricated but they did help reinforce the concepts, I skimmed through these.

It would be valuable to have more pictures of the crystals.

I read an ARC version courtesy of NetGalley.

If I saw this at a store I would be absolutely so excited. Who doesn't love crystals! But once I opened it and flipped through I'd be utterly disappointed. Unfortunately this book doesn't have any of the stunning photos of crystals that I would've expected from the cover. I want to be able to see the beauty that I'm reading about. Having no visuals takes away the excitement and wonder that I need in order to really enjoy this book.

I thought this was a very informative read. I enjoyed learning more about all the different properties of crystals: colors and lattice, as well as shape and use. I think crystals are very mysterious and this book did a great job of making them user friendly and not as intimidating as I first thought. I really enjoyed the verbiage the author used because it was more like a casual conversation rather than a scientific overlay which I found easy readable and easy to mentally process.

I loved this book! It was so easy to follow and understand. This a great book for beginners or those who already have knowledge. It is a great way to learn about Crystals and their healing properties!

Great informational source of crystals rather than a dictionary type of book of crystals. Creat ideas of where to get them, colours, shapes, safety and so on. So a great resource to get a further well-rounded information surrounding crystals.

Just remembering that those were my impressions and opinion as a reader :)

Rating: 5 stars

PROS
I have a friend that always nags me to pay more attention to crystals and energy overall. While browsing, I found this title and decided to give it a try, to learn more about the subject. The book delivers and the author is very meticulous about all topics related to stones and gems, but in a smooth and quick way. I read the whole book in one sitting and I'm very inclined to start wearing crystals on a daily basis.

CONS
As I am not planning on changing my whole life style to accommodate crystals, several passages of the book felt dull and tiresome for me.

COVER ANALYSIS
For a non-fiction book, it's a pretty cover, clean and straight to the point.

RECOMMENDED FOR
Readers interested in learning more about gems, stones and crystals <3

First of all, many thanks for the arc of Karen Frazier’s “The Crystal Alchemist”. If you like energy work like me this is a book you’ll find yourself going back to, every time I pick it up I find new information that helps me working with my crystals and it really makes me want to buy a bunch of new ones ( which - to be fair - it’s not a hard thing to achieve ). The only “bad” thing I have to say it’s about the format, on kindle it was a bit messy and not that well presented but i’m sure the physical version and even future e-versions will be better.

As a beginner, I wish this book had more pictures of the crystals and a little more information on how to select crystals. Having said this I feel the book is pretty comprehensive. The section on cleaning crystals was most helpful to me. Also, the section about incorporating crystals into your everyday life was informative. I believe this book can be helpful for anyone who is a beginner in using crystals.

I voluntarily agreed to read a copy of this book supplied by Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.

Love this! I LOVE anything to do with crystals so this book was really cool to read and get my hands on. So much great information in this. LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! THANKS!

I went into this book not knowing much, of anything, about crystal work. I think if I had it to do over, I may have started with Frazier’s beginner crystal book and then come back to this one once I had a knowledge base.

I liked the layout of things each color is commonly associated with and which crystals contain these colors. That section definitely made this book an invaluable reference guide.

Each section provides similar breakdowns, so that if one is looking for a quick answer it is easy to find, but if one wants/needs to look deeper, that is equally available. A great book for anyone who wants to learn more about the healing properties of crystals.

A good introduction to crystals, lots of good information but definitely needs some pictures to go along with it!

Even though this book is a thorough introduction in a world that is totally new to me, I would not recommend it to beginners. The reason why is that there are no pictures in it at all. I hoped it would help me recognize the many chrystals, minerals, and gemstones I inherited. I will need a separate book for that purpose to make more use of the Chrystal Alchemist.

I was initially disappointed in this book. It has very few photos and gives very little advice on selecting crystals that one can't find in a Google search.

However, as I continued to read the book it does get better. It has many ideas for different methods to incorporate crystals into your life.

I did find the personal stories too similar and lacking in depth (all were kept brief so that could be the shortfall) they felt truthful but generic. I feel overall if you're a serious crystal enthusiast with previous knowledge this book will not be in-depth enough for you.

This book is geared more towards the novice and a first experience introduction to the power of crystals into your life.

As I said before a deaper explanations and pictures of the stones discussed would greatly enhance this book. I also feel that the chapters focused on cleansing and charging crystals should either be closer to the beginning of the book, or referenced in the sections recommending stone choices.

Overall I feel it is a solid attemp to help one learn to love the power of nature and the healing benefits of meditation and crystal use. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest opinion.

So organized, and so well-crafted. When you're dealing with a subject as big as crystals and what they can be used for, clarity is very important. I found it easy to move through this book, to find particular crystals, to process all of the details about them. For those looking to add crystals to their wellness, for those looking to feng shui their home and work, and for those who just love crystals and the connection to the earth and to crystal artistry, this book is excellent. You'll pick it up often.

II have read quite a few crystal books as I was crazy into it earlier this year and in 2018.
Like most books similar to this one, it is a comprehensive guide to all things crystals - how to use, the power of each, combining them, etc. I wish it had more visuals for each crystal. I'd rather see it visually than read countless paragraphs about each crystal. Don't get me wrong - this is a great book and perfect for all levels of crystal enthusiasts! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

I was unable to read this book due to the formatting of the ebook arc. There were also no images which I think would have really added to the understanding of the various crystals the book was explaining.

This is really nice.book for beginners. I have used some crystals in the past for various health issues but I didn’t really put it all together in a way that stuck with me. I like the way the author broke the different crystals into color categories. When I’ve researched a certain crystal in the past, I haven’t found much reference to other crystals within that same color choice. That’s a nice reference. I have a good friend who is much more knowledgeable about crystals. I plan on buying a hard copy of this book to look over with my friend.

I liked the author’s guide to picking out crystals. I also liked the author’s discussion within the book of how she used the different crystals/stones. There is a good section on safety and handling of crystals. I hadn’t really thought about possible toxicity.

There is nice section on incorporating crystals into your life. I practice mindfulness but I too understand the importance of establishing a routine and regular practice. The same is true with crystals.

Thank you for allowing me to review an advanced copy from Netgalley.

I found this book extremely informative and helpful when it comes to choosing crystals. I've used crystals for many years so am very familiar with them and this book has definitely enhanced my confidence in selecting them. As this was a kindle edition, it was quite difficult though to keep going back over things but I will be buying the actual book when it is released.

There are many, many books out there giving all sorts of advice and information about crystals but if your looking to know more about the selection of crystals and what they can do for you in certain areas of your life then this book can certainly help and guide you.

I've always been interested in crystals but felt daunted by the prospect of identifying, selecting, and using them. This book is rather comprehensive and covers all aspects from discussing the physical properties to meditation. I think this would be a good reference book or gift.

Crystals are really having a moment in culture right now. I’ve been interested for a while, so none of the info in this book was new to me exactly - but it would be a great addition to any collection for new crystal lovers.
