This book had the potential to be one of the best MC books that I have read. However, there were so many different things going on that it was hard to concentrate on which direction to go in. There was Cassidy with her past that she is running from, there was the friend and her "brother", there was the past and his little twist of what he really liked, there was Chance and his past with his father, the military/ex-girlfriend, the MC stuff, and the mystery with the Mayor's wife. I just needed it toned down and it would have been really really good. I was sucked in from the first chapter because this author does have an amazing writing style.

I will still look for more from this author in the future.

I received a copy of this book as an advanced copy from the publisher, through Netgalley, to review. The opinions given below are my own.

I read Book 3 in this series and enjoyed it so I was really happy to be able to review this next book. I enjoyed this book even more than the last and I don’t know if it’s because I enjoyed the characters more or that the story felt more powerful. I think it may be a combination of both.

Chance is the Sargent at Arms for the Kings of Mayhem MC. His father was the previous President who was a cruel and vicious man who mentally and physically abused his child. To escape he joined the Navy and eventually became a SEAL. He came back after being medically discharged, a changed and very damaged man. He tries to keep going for his family and his club, but it’s very lonely when inside you feel so empty.

Cassidy is a young woman who has spent the last two years travelling. Cassidy isn’t her real name and she is hiding, which makes it difficult to settle in one place for very long and earn enough to keep a roof over her head. Cassidy also grew up in a dangerous environment. Her foster parents were wealthy but used her as a photo prop and her foster brother abused her. She ran away when she realised that after returning from college that her foster brother was never going to change and his parents were never going to make him face the consequences of his actions.

For a while she has been travelling with her best friend who convinced her to come with her to Destiny, where her mother left her a house when she died. Destiny is where she meets Chance. After meeting Chance, he suggests she perform at a party at the Clubhouse the next day, as she sings and plays guitar as a way of making ends meet. They are attracted to each other but Chance is scared to act on his feelings because he thinks he might be a danger to Cassidy. Despite not wanting to act on his attraction Chance still wants to help Cassidy.

I really liked both Chance and Cassidy. Both of them are good people despite the horrors of their upbringing. Chance has always tried to do the right thing, so his inclination is always going to be to protect someone, even if it is from himself. He’s really damaged and he can’t seem to find a way of coping with his feelings and memories and doesn’t want to share his experiences with anyone.

Cassidy is definitely a strong woman. Despite having to go on the run to escape her foster family you can tell she isn’t as damaged as she might have once been, even if she has a very healthy fear of what her family might do to her if she is ever found, because she once got professional help.

I also really liked the secondary characters in this series and they appear again in this book. In particular, Chance’s grandmother is hilarious and Bull the president of the Kings who is a strong leader who cares about his people and won’t do anything to risk their safety, unless absolutely necessary.

This author writes extraordinary stories in a natural and believable manner. Her writing is fluid and the characters really stand out because they are explored from several sides, not just one view point. The main characters interact not only with each other but with other people in the community and their family and friends. It gives more depth to the characters to see how others see them, not just their love interest.

On top of the excellent writing and smoothly paced plot progression, there are plenty of spicy scenes to keep most MC fans happy. MC books normally make for pretty hot reading and this is no exception. There is no kink involved, but it is quite explicitly written.

This really is a very good book, and I raced through the pages, finding it difficult to put down. As such, I highly recommend it for fans of the MC genre. You don’t need to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy this book, but if they are as good as this fourth book, I’d be inclined to give them a try too. I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for any future books in the series.

My favorite of the series so far, Hell on Wheels is the fourth book in the Kings of Mayhem. Chance and Cassidy both have their demons this is an intense, engaging read and one I would definitely recommend. Be warned this story may contain triggers so read the blub and reviews before reading.

I've been a fan of this series and enjoyed Hell on Wheels as much as the others. Chance is as damaged by his childhood as he is by the war and the wounds he sustained. I'm always amazed that anyone can survive so much and retain their character but Chance is still a great man. He's got some issues that manifest from his past but underneath he remain good and caring.

The same goes for Cassidy. She's been through an equally horrible past and has remained strong and honorable. Her past is so horrific and money has let her step-brother get away with it all. She has every reason to become jaded and while a realist she hasn't given up completely on people.

These two understand each other in ways most others cannot.

The story is a touching, sometimes sad, study in endurance and overcoming.

This book was my first foray into Kings of mayhem series. I was able to follow the storyline and got completely wrapped up in the characters.
Hell on wheels start with a little bit of background on chance. Chance was a seal who dealt with the situation while deployed that's card more than his body. Chance meets Cassidy while realizing he's not the same person he was before he deployed. He's at a crossroads where he needs to decide either to heal or to give in to the beast

His meeting with Cassidy show him that there's goodness and light yet shakes him due to what he thinks are his flaws. This book tackles PTSD in several levels. The characters are engaging and the love story is hot.

There is some push and pull between the characters but not overwhelming their story

I'll admit it.....I'm a sucker for biker romance! I love the bad boy and the helpless girl combination. Penny Dee has a wonderful series, "The Kings of Mayhem MC" and this book is number four in the series. Chance has returned from a stint in the military with wounds that are visible and invisible. Chastity has had a rough life, abuse and homelessness to make her a person in need of stability and protection. Her step-brother is a maniac who is out to get her and she meets Chance who is eager to help her. Great story line and solid characters who make this an outstanding read!

I enjoyed this read. Chance and Cassidy's story was intense and engaging. My heart bled for Chance. So badly broken on both the inside and out, he truly needed some light to help ease the darkness that consumed him and the form that light took was Cassidy. I liked Cassidy but I did think she did some fairly dumb things and made poor choices. Reguardless, I felt that these two wounded people made a great couple. The storyline is filled with drama, tension, strong emotions, danger and heat. I thought that this was a very good read in a entertaining series.

**I received a copy of Hell on Wheels from Net Galley and Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions expressed below are mine and not solicited in any way.**

Hell on Wheels by Penny Dee is the fourth book in her Kings of Mayhem MC series. I've waited awhile to read Chance's story and wasn't disappointed. However you need to know that there are several triggers in the story so please be aware. Lets just say that Chelsea/Cassidy's foster brother is one sick puppy and leave it at that. However my most favorite person Grandma Sybil comes in to make her "special" brownies for her group of ladies and I'll just say this don't let her go to the bathroom while a rival MC wants her weed.

Cassidy has been on the run for over a year with her friend Missy so when they arrive in Destiny little does she know that her secret will be revealed and there will be some jealousy with her "friend" and her brother. But it will be Chance who'll step up to protect her from the Devil as well as the Kings of Mayhem MC and their ladies. But can Cassidy convince Chance that he's still the beautiful soul inside even though his scars are outside? Will he be able to realize that the betrayal in Afghanistan which caused his scars and loss of his SEAL team?

Chance has his own demons to battle with his father who was very vindictive and escaping as soon as he could to join the Navy and becoming a SEAL. However, between his guilt, scars from the explosion taking care of Cassidy who carries her own demons could it lead to his HEA? Can they both banish their darkness and make a new life together?

Thanks to the publisher for an arc to read and give my honest opinion.

Beauty and the beast biker style! Chance’s book took awhile to warm me up as we learn he came back from overseas messed up because of a shoulder missile fired at him. Now with massive scarring and his mind a mess he finds an angel.

What did I like ? Cassidy’s character was a flighty thing with a mouth made for sin and singing! She accepted Chances help to hide her from the devil.
The chemistry was slow for them because Chance was so messed up. I also had a hard time with her friend that got knocked up by a married guy and sold Cassidy out.

Would I buy this book? This wasn’t one of my favorites of the series so I have a hard time recommending it.

Thoughts for the author? Thanks so much for the arc, hope to see more of this series!

Hell on Wheels is the 4th book in the Kings of Mayhem series and I think it is my favorite so far!
It can be read as a standalone although I suggest reading the first three books first. It will give you more insight into all the other characters in the series.

This book is filled with passion and is so intense you will find yourself on the edge or your seat, holding your breath and reading till you get to the very end. I can't wait to read more from Penny Dee!

I’m a big fan of the Kings of Mayhem series. Both Chance and Cassidy have a history of abuse and mistreatment by those who are supposed to love and care for them. Cassidy is running for her life and doesn’t rely on others to keep her safe. Readers familiar with Chance have rooted for him to find his queen. There’s a cameo appearance of Chance’s grandmother that is priceless!

I've loved every one of the Kings of Mayhem series so far and not only was this forth book no exception, but it was in some ways even better. I do feel a bit bad that I'm not giving it the full four stars, it was a bit of a toss-up as to whether I would or not. It was so close to being perfect that it's certainly a good 4 1/2 star read.
This time we have Chance, the family member who has been overseas and part of the military for many years. He suffered at the hands of his father who was a nasty bully. (Although how I'm not sure, as their grandmother, who obviously raised her son, is fantastic.) He stayed away from the motorcycle club, but now he's back home and trying to find his way in the world and his place within the club. He's a very damaged soul, but when he meets Cassidy, he begins to find his way back from the darkness.
Cassidy is just as damaged as Chance, if not more so. She manages to find someone in Chance that gives her reason to stop running and together they can heal one another.
This was a great read with some quite dark themes and past events. There's less of the Kings of Mayhem as a group in this one, although the main characters are still there in the background. There was a little bit just towards the end that felt a little rushed and we didn't really hear much about to do with Cassidy's past, but I don't know if that's because we might learn more in a later book or perhaps because there was just so much to cover here and the main storyline had reached its conclusion.
This was a great read and I'll certainly be coming back for more of the Kings of Mayhem in the future, if there are more to be released that is, I certainly hope so.

This book had the potential to be the best yet. Chance is an interesting character. At heart he’s a gentle soul and with a different father and a more traditional upbringing. He would be a different person. But life’s shaped him. And he’s suffered. He no longer feels worthy of love and doesn’t expect to ever be happy again.

Enter Cassidy. She’s running from her past. She doesn’t see a monster when she looks at Chance she sees an incredibly handsome man. The scars add to his appeal. But the biker vest has her stepping back.

These two dance around each other while Chance steps up to save her.

I enjoyed this book but...

I know there’s always a but. I understand Cassidy likes Molly and likes working at the diner. But if she’s as scared as she is (and righty so) she wouldn’t hang out in such a public place. And don’t get me started on the looking for necklace.

She would make it look like she left town. Even going so far as to leave and be smuggled back. She wouldn’t be seen on the back of Chances bike.

Yes I’m picky I know. And it’s just a biker romance. I shouldn’t take it so seriously. But I always try to put myself in the heroines place and no way would I be visible.

Moaning aside this is a good entertaining read.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Looks like Penny Dee did it again! If you are looking for ovaries-busting, knees-melting kind of romance, then this might just be it for you.

I thought Biker Baby was really good, this one turns out to be even better, and this comes from someone who, most of the time, would turn away from MC story. But Hell on Wheels I enjoyed, very, very much.

Chance is at the centre of this story. I remembered Chance vividly from Biker Baby because his story and story was something that I find intriguing. I was looking forward to read his story and I am happy beyond words that it did not disappoint.

This is the fourth book in this series I had book one on my TBR pile but have now bought book two and three that is how much I enjoyed this book.

Chance Calley was the oldest of the Calley boys and the one that wore the brunt of his fathers abuse he was willing to do that to save his brothers because at heart he is a protector that led to him joining the navy and becoming a Seal but one mission brought that to an end A mission that killed his teammates and left him so scarred physically and mentally that he doesn't know how he survived. The PTSD is eating him away and it seems to be getting worse. Then he sees her Cassidy she is a woman battling her own demons she is on the run and earning her way by singing in the streets when the big burly biker steps up to save her she is attracted But can two damaged people actually be the saving of one another Can she help him with his PTSD and will he be able to finally make her feel safe. You will have to read to see

Loving Chance!!

Those Calley boys just keep getting better and better. Chance grew up in the MC with his father as a dark and very dangerous Prez who was raising Chance as a future Prez and not as a son. Those dark scars now turned into visible scars on his back while serving his time in war. One of his last memories was pulling a trigger on someone he never expected would betray him.

Cassidy was also a victim of her upbringing and with the unspeakable things done to her by her foster brother she has been on the run trying to hide from him. When Cassidy shows up in Kings of Mayhem territory she and Chance find each other and he is trying to keep emotions and hands off Cassidy but it’s proving more impossible as time goes on.

As with the whole Kings of Mayhem MC series this author does not miss a beat and she delivers another awesome MC book that you find you won’t be able to put down. Ms. Dee knows how to take you to dark places and then pulls you back from the edge all the while telling a story that has meaning behind it and has you feeling all sunshiny….biker style.

Hell on Wheels is the fourth book in Penny Dee’s Kings of Mayhem introducing readers Chance, an emotionally detached war hero who regards himself as a Beast after injuries incurred while serving in the military. Haunted by his memories, Chance is good at keeping his distance until Cassidy walks into his life; with nightmares and heartache in common, this exceptional couple will need to find an inner strength to help them navigate the future that they both deserve.

Ms Dee has an uncanny ability to draw the reader in, keep them perched on the edge of their seat, make them scream at the pages and cry with the characters all while being unable to put the book down. Kings of Mayhem has been an intriguing series to date with fabulous world building, believable characters, and emotional and heartfelt storylines to pull you in. I hope there is still more to come!

ARC received for review

Chance is the beast, scarred and hurt. Cassidy is the beauty, but she's been hurt and running from evil. Chance protects her and falls for her. Cassidy doesn't listen, and it almost ends badly for everyone. Loved seeing the previous peeps and that no one dies in this book.

I knew I would love Chance’s story. It is very emotional and might have some triggers for some people. I loved the slow burn between Chance and Violet. It worked for me. Here is my take on Chance, WOW! He is loving and caring and Violet needs him. This is a great couple who find happiness despite all of the emotional baggage they carry. Normally epilogues are not something I care to read unless it is a short time later but this epilogue was epic! Great story.
