A quick read romance about a small town, big dreams girl falling for the new guy in town. Ivy has gone through a lot, and would like to steer clear of firemen, until she met Carter. Carter is a fireman who wants a fresh start, and this small town is the place to start and to stay focused until he meets Ivy.

It was a cute little romance novella. It kept my interest, but I felt the characters were not well developed. Also, I thought it was kind of lacking in the "heated romance" department.

**Thank you Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this novella in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon because less than 4 stars.**

Prequel to series.
Ivy is back in her hometown after losing her brother. She is ready to open her shop when small fire starts in her office. It brings firefighters even though she took care of small fire and it brings back memories of her late brother. When handsome Lieutenant Carter Bowen comes to check her business, she is drawn to him but she swore she won't fall for firefighter even if he is handsome as Carter.
Carter moved away from his family and starting in new town. When he met Ivy at her business, he is determined to win her heart but it won't be easy.
Ivy and Carter are perfect for each other but they will have to trust each other first. It is great start to the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for ARC in exchange for honest review.

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

A fun , quick read and introduction to AJ Pine’s newest series! Can’t wait to meet more of this community.

What a fun read and a great beginning that will suck you right in and set you up for a great time on the rough road to their HEA

I love AJ Pine, but this was a DNF for me. I could not get into the characters in this one at all and the plot seemed to drag. It’s the novella that introduces her new series Meadow Valley, but I recommend just moving on to the first book My One and Only Cowboy. I loved the first book! I don’t think Cowboy to the Rescue is a necessary read for the series. DNF at 35%

Cowboy to the Rescue by A.J. Pine is a prequel novella in the contemporary romance Meadow Valley series. As with most romance series each book will change main characters so the can be read as a standalone or in any order. The books of the series however do give updates on the previous characters for those that follow from the beginning.

Coming from a firefighting family the very last thing Ivy Serrano ever would want would be to fall for a firefighter herself knowing all too well the danger they face everyday. However, when a small electrical fire breaks out in Ivy’s new shop in walks Lieutenant Carter Bowen and as determined as Ivy is to ignore the handsome Lieutenant sparks begin to fly between Ivy and Carter.

Coming in at just over a hundred pages Cowboy to the Rescue does have a very fast pace to the relationship with some insta-love. However, for those that don’t mind a quick pace this is a lovely little novella that opens up and introduces the Meadow Valley series which seems like it will be a nice place to find love. This first set of characters were likable and from what we see I think the rest of the series also shows promise.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

This was such a cute introduction to a new town and a new cast of characters by the always lovely A.J. Pine. The story is short and sweet but also manages to really allow us to meet these characters and fall in love with them.

I loved Ivy and Carter and I was 100% rooting for them. I am a huge fan of firefighter shows and this definitely read like a cute/short episode arc where you're introduced to the new Lieutenant in town and you get to see him find his way in his team while also finding his way into Ivy's heart.

I loved it and can't wait to continue with the series.

I received a complimentary copy from the Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley and liked it so much that I purchased a copy.

What a wonderful start to the series. Two of my favorites cowboys and firefighters! What isn't there to love. We were introduced to some great secondary characters along with Lieutenant Carter Bowen, a new transplant in Meadow Valley, and Ivy Serrano, a born and bred resident. Carter leaves Houston for Meadow Valley as his father is extremely unhappy that Carter chose to become a firefighter instead of working along side of him and his brothers in the auto garage that he built up. Carter was happy to become a mechanic until an accident that he was in claimed the life of his best friend. Ivy on the other hand lost her firefighter brother to a fire. She refuses to date a firefighter. The grand opening of her store sees a fire in the back room. The fire crew from right down the street to the rescue.

The road to Carter and Ivy's HEA is one that shows two people and how they overcome loss along with the pain and grief associated with it. Fortunately the story was written in a dual POV format. Getting into the thoughts of these two really helped me to understand Ivy's position (never having lost a family member to a fire). Ivy's best friend Casey also helped to bring out some thoughts for Ivy to reflect on.

I look forward to more of Meadow Valley and it's residents. I am voting on Casey to get her book (hopefully with her ex!!! HINT!)

There were some scenes that were sexual in nature but nothing that was over the top erotica and pages and pages of it. It may offend some though that want nothing but sweet and clean. That being said, I would highly recommend this book to anyone OVER the age of 18.

Ivy has returned to her hometown to set up her clothing boutique featuring her own designs. When a small fire puts her in the path of the fire department's new lieutenant, both Ivy and Carter do their best to deny their mutual attraction. Ivy adamantly won't date firefighters and Carter doesn't want any distractions from proving himself to the department. But will love find a way?

I love a small-town romance! The main characters had true-to-life issues and their story played out with a couple of good secondary characters. I really enjoyed seeing Ivy and Carter work through everything. My favorite part of the book was the dialogue between these two! Whether it was witty banter or a serious conversation, Ivy and Carter came across as very realistic characters. Ivy had some great scenes with her best friend Casey and I hope she has her story told at some point.

This was a quick, fun romance with very likable characters. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance e-copy in exchange for my honest review.

Title: Cowboy To the Rescue

Series: Meadow Valley Novella

Author: A.J.Pine

Genre: romance

pages:119

Forever Yours

September 3rd ,2019

Rating: 4.5

All designer Ivy Serrano wants is a fresh start. But instead, her Meadow Valley homecoming includes an electrical fire, a trashed custom dress, and a very handsome fireman who knows how to push all her buttons. Lieutenant Carter Bowen may set off sparks of his own, but the last thing Ivy needs now is town gossip . . . or to risk loving another firefighter.

New to small-town living, Carter is determined to prove himself, both at the station and at the fledgling dude ranch where he volunteers. That means no mistakes, no distractions, and definitely no Ivy. Yet there's something about the sassy shop owner that he just can't resist. As things heat up between them, Carter's more certain than ever that she's the one. But can he convince her they have a future worth fighting for.

My thoughts

Would I recommend it ? Yes

Would I read more by this author? Yes

Would I continue with the series? Yes

For a novella it's a great way to introduce a new series , and set up the story , in this one you meet Ivy and Carter who has instant connection but both knows that they can't fell for one another because of his job and his just starting over but the heart wants what the heart wants no matter how hard you fight.Another thing I loved about this story was how nicely balance it is with humor, heart, and a little bit of steam. With that said I want to thank NetGalley as well as Forever for letting me read and review it.

This was the first time I have read anything by AJ Pine and it won’t be the last. This novella definitely has me looking fowprward to the new series.

I love Ivy and Carter both as individuals and as a couple. Ivy is a designer and independent business owner opening her own shop. She wants to fall in love but doesn’t want it to be a firefighter. On the opening day for her shop, she has to deal with an electrical fire. Carter is the new lieutenant for the town’s fire company and he responds to the fire with his team. He is a by the book kind of guy who wants to focus on his career and being accepted in his new position. Although the fire is taken care of, there are certainly still sparks. Ivy and Carter are immediately attracted to one another even though neither of them wants to be interested in the other. It was fun to see their relationship blossom.

The characters are very well developed for a novella. The story was a bit rushed toward the end but again, it is a novella. I not only fell in love with Ivy and Carter, I fell in love with their little town and their friends. I’m a sucker for small town romances and now I can’t wait to read the first novel in this series.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion of the book.

This was another great novella from AJ Pine! Ivy and Carter had immediate chemistry, but neither wanting to act on it for different reasons. Fun, flirty, and a great look into Meadow Valley.

A very nice quick read. The characters are well developed in this novella, and easy to relate to. Carter is definitely captivating and Ivy, with her tragic past, is not a "woes is me" damsel in distress but a definite take charge person who wants love but is afraid of the "fire" burning between her and Carter. The story line is believable with a touch of excitement and wonder. Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the eARC of Cowboy to the Rescue in return for my opinion.

Another 5 stars for this cowboy/fireman romance treat. Who does g love a cowboy/fireman en? A. J. Pine knows that and has delivered a super sexy novel for our enjoyment. Once again she has kept is turning those pages to see how it all works out with these amazing characters. The characters are (as is always the case with A. J. Pine) well rounded and relatable...once again my day has been disrupted - as I can’t do anything else once a A. J. Pine book heads my way. Happy reading!!

Cowboy to the Rescue is a sweet quick read. It is the introduction of a new series set in rural Meadow Valley and a great start in my opinion.
This is the romance of Carter and Ivy. Ivy is a long time resident whereas Carter is new to the small town. She recently lost her firefighter brother and has a lot of fears about losing another...and Carter is a firefighter. But the two have instant chemistry. They must navigate her fears and insecurities as well as his job uncertainty given his probationary period and trouble at work.
I not only enjoyed the main characters and storyline but also the side characters too. I would definitely continue reading this series.

A nice quick read. I love a novella for times I don't have to read a complete book. A cowboy/firefighter and a wedding shop owner. An electrical fire brings the fire Dept to her door. Ivy wants nothing to do with Carter, because of a tragedy in her past. Both have a lot to prove to their self.

Highly entertaining quick yet fun teasing glimpse of a exciting new series! Really enjoyed this fun, sexy and engaging action packed adventure introducing Meadow Valley and look forward to what comes next!

A small town romance between shop owner Ivy and firefighter Carter. There's lots of fun banter between the H/h as they get to know each other. The writing is fine and the story is easy to read and there are a few side characters (eg townsfolk). I do prefer to read a book with more angst, sizzle, tension and drama, but if you prefer to smile over a couple falling slowly for each other in a home town setting, then this story is for you.

This kickoff novella is a great enticement of what's to come in the Meadow Valley series. Ivy is determined to steer clear of first-responders, particularly firefighters, when an incident on opening day of her new store brings her face to face with the hot firefighter Carter Bowen. Carter has his own dating rules- no dating until he secures the Lieutenant job he is temporarily in. The problem is these two are instant connection and chemistry.

While Ivy tries hard to steer clear of Carter, Carter sweetly appears where Ivy is. These two characters really draw you in to this community and have a sweet, fast, relationship.

There are so many secondary characters introduced that are sure to give great stories to come. I look forward to reading.
