I wasn't sure how much I was going to love this, but Christopher Lachlan is an absolute dream boat. I ended up really liking this one. It’s a fast read, I love Charley and how uptight she is. I love Chris and his adventurous nature but also how he pulls her out of her shell little by little. This would make a great vacation read :)

Thank you Entangled Publishing for giving me an arc copy to read and review via NetGalley. All of these thoughts are my own.

If you’re looking for a cute and fast paced romance then this book is for you. This was a cute little read. It’s really short which was nice because some romances are just drug out and I lose interest. It wasn’t really a book I’d pick for myself because I just didn’t connect with the characters but I think others who really love romance would enjoy this.

Thanks again for an ARC copy!

3stars!

Sweet, fun, a fast mover, with an enticing storyline and excellent characters, I enjoyed this "meet-cute"romance!" Wonderful book with extraordinary characters! This is not a book to miss.

This was a light, quick read. The writing flowed well, although the story wasn't my favorite. Charley is made out to be an accident prone risk assessor, but really the clumsiness stop right after she meets Chris. Charley has this tragic thing happen in her past to make her the way she is, but it's given like 1 paragraph towards the end to explain it, and she's not even the one telling the story. At least Chris's reasons for being a thrill seeker are told by him. The drama was over in a few pages, and they get their HEA. Well, I guess a form of it. Not really my idea of a "happily ever after". Although this wasn't my favorite, I will read this author again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

This book had a really good meet-cute and it was definitely memorable. I can definitely understand fighting over the last chocolate milk on the store shelf. I'm not entirely into the knight-in-shining-armor thing, but it was a really good read with a lot of funny parts.

This is book four in the Winning the Billionaire series, and Kira Archer is continuing her strong streak of fun flirty reads. Pushing His Luck offers readers layered and engaging characters, love scenes that move the story along, snappy dialogue and a little twist on the typical happily ever after romance. I hope the series continues, because I'm in.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

Pushing His Luck was obviously part of a series- not just part of but ended a series, and I did feel like I missed out on a ton of plot points by reading this without the others. I do think you could read as a standalone but you will miss a lot. Chris and Charley are a cute couple but I feel like I got hints of a backstory about why they are the way they are, but no actual resolution to anything. You do get a nice ending and prologue, so it is still satisfying.

I recieved a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Chris's company is going public which means he needs to go through a risk assessment. Charley has just started her own firm after dealing with the misogyny at her firm but believing that Chris wouldn't approve of an independent small business she lies about still being with her firm. Billionaire businessman traveling the world of course that story is going to be corny. I did like Chris the adventurous billionaire thing was what it was. Charley on the other hand was super irritating because she was the stereotypical klutz. I think I'm just getting sick and tired of the trope of a clumsy girl. Not to mention it feels like half the book was just repeating the same line over and over again she can't sleep with him because then it will make everyone think that she got to the top by sleeping with everyone and he can't sleep with her because people will think that he basically slept his way to a good score on the risk assessment. Being reminded over and over and over again the conflict became meaningless. I might give this author another chance

Book Title: Pushing His Luck
Author: Kira Archer
Pub Date: September 23, 2019

***ARC was provided to me by Net Galley and the Publisher for a fair and honest review***

Overall rating: 3/5

Heroine (Charley Claybourne): 3/5 She has just started a new company as a risk assessor for insurance companies and she is very good at her job. She is very much a home body and tends to play everything safe.

Hero (Chris Lachlan): 3/5 He is an adrenaline junkie and wants to taste all that life has to offer. To keep his job as CEO however he needs to convince the risk assessor that he is not the liability he seems to be.

Plot: 3/5 While trying to assess how much of an insurance liability the billionaire CEO Chris Lachlan is, Charley gets taken on a whirlwind vacation with him. She is here to do a job, but will they be able to keep things professional?

Personal Review: At first glance this is a billionaire taking a naive woman on an adventure, and while that is largely what it is, there is also an overwhelming focus on Charley’s job. It is the sticking point for their relationship but it’s just kind of a boring job.

I did like how Chris got Charley to open up and try new things. It was nice to see her go from stressing over absolutely everything to be ok with adventure.

DNF, This book just didn't grab my attention and hold it. I tried a few times but couldn't get into the story.

A Risk assessor and an adrenaline junky walk to a table...

Okay so it starts before that scene! Pushing His Luck is a cute romance with some lovely excursions and some to die for adventure. (See what I did there!?!?!)

Looks, lust, and chemistry are keeping these two tightly wound. Add in the proximity, the comfort of being in each others company, and the urge to do naughty things....and you get Pushing His Luck.

It's cute, sexy, and dare I say the perfect way to fall in love. Sign me up for this trip!

3.5 stars

Charley needs a new start after losing her job and starting her own company. All she need is Chris’ company’s account. Chris need her help with getting insurance for his company. As they spend time together the lines becomes blurred and Charley’s secret is revealed and their business and personal relationship is threatened. Chris’ friends are hilarious. They are very funny throughout the book. Love the chemistry between Charley and Chris. Engaging read. Recommended read.

This is my first exposure to Kira Archer's books and the Winning the Billionaire series.

I'm going to start this review by saying I think you can read Pushing His Luck as a standalone book in the Winning the Billionaire Series, but bits of the story and a majority of the supporting characters' lives won't really make a lot of sense without it. I'm saying that from experience. My recommendation would be to read the whole series before this one to avoid confusion.

I was drawn to Pushing His Luck due to the hilarious and quirky description. I was very excited to dive in and read about this accident-prone main character and her sexy client. I think the book delivered for the most part. All parts of the quirky awkward main character and the hunky client were present.

Charley has lived her life by weighing the pros and cons of every situation in every way. It's what makes her good at her job. Her by the book way of life is made light of by the fact that she's insanely accident-prone. When she drops her good luck chocolate milk on a hot guy at the store she never expects him to be her client. When her friends demand she gives him a chance with his buisness she agrees and takes a whirlwind adventure with him.

Christopher has been getting turned down in his business ventures due to his "risky" lifestyle. Charley is his last chance and he'll do anything he can to get her to agree to help him. Even if that means taking her with him on all his adventures.

Of course, I'm sure you can guess what happens. Sparks fly and so on. I have to say Pushing His Luck was very by the book and everything you'd expect. There weren't a lot of risks taken and the romance and the overall story felt a little blah and flat to me. I didn't hate it, but it's not one I'll be remembering in-depth ever again.

Ahhhhhhh Pushing His Luck was just such a wonderful book and I just thoroughly enjoyed myself. I didn’t want to put this book down. I just fell in love with this wonderful story and it’s wonderful characters. I will most definitely be reading more stories from this wonderful author.

Pushing His Luck follows the misadventures of clumsy Charley as she trys to go out on her own with her business. But, thanks to her luck, her first client is the man she got into a chocolate milk standoff with earlier that morning.
"Damn, the Disney Prince smolder  was strong with this one."
Christopher Lachlan is the CEO of vacation rentals who is just trying to get insured so he can remain the CEO. Being a total risk-taker and adrenaline junkie, he is the exact opposite of Charley. Cautious and always in control, Charley is leaning towards the fact that Chris takes too many risks to be insured. One thing leads to another and suddenly Charley finds herself going on a business trip with Chris so he can prove to her that the risks he takes aren't really risks.
"The woman was a walking menace. Assessing risk for a living was a perfect job for her. She'd need to know the exact risk of any given situation so she'd know her probability of making it out alive."
I love a good opposites attract story and this was just that! They had the most adorable meet-cute and their chemistry just snow-balled from there. Chris really helped get Charley out of her shell but accepted her for who she was. I thought the banter between all the characters was so fun and the pacing of the story was great, if not a bit slow at first. Even though this is book 4 it could easily be read as a standalone. I felt it was pretty apparent that it was a book in a series just for how often some of the side characters get mentioned though.  This was a fun, quick read that I finished up in a day. I enjoyed it overall and think I just might have to read the first three books in this series!

Overall a good read. It lagged a bit in the middle but had a really strong finish and I loved the epilogue.

This book was okay. Not my favorite romance. I thought the characters were pretty good. I just wasn't sold on the story.

Charley needs a job, well, more specifically, she wants to start her own company after the loss of her most recent position. Knowing how much is riding on one account, and that she's prepared to win it, she's ready to chug some chocolate milk beforehand. Of course, that's easier to do when someone isn't trying to steal, err take it, first. Chocolate cravings are real and cannot be denied, though she might've been tempted to let the good-looking man have it...but her lapse in thinking logically didn't last long.

Romance readers know where this is going. The man on the opposite end of the tug-of-war is, of course, the new client. Ironically, Charley is known for being careful in well, everything, and Chris is the exact opposite. Then again, maybe that's exactly what they each need.

But what about her professional dreams? Is that more important than what their hearts want?

One-click now and follow along as a meet cute turns into forever. On a side note, the set up is adorable and I liked the characters, but the Hero's ex still being a part of his life, as in within a group of friends, tainted my enjoyment of it. If it hadn't been for that...

Really enjoyed this opposites attract read. I especially loved the quick wit and banter between Charley and Chris. I think their different personalities added so much more to their story. The dual POV is also a plus for me; I love reading books like this.

This was a quick and fun read. If you like romance, opposites attract, and mishaps, this is the book for you.
