3.5 stars
Thank you to Net Galley and Gallery Books for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a classic and enjoyable beach read that was perfect to read on a snowy weekend. The story was engaging, especially the focus on female friendships, I wish that was more of the focus and there was less on the romance aspect and finding the perfect man. This is a light and breezy read, although at times I felt some of the plot was a little unrealistic, overall this was another good book from Kristy Woodson Harvey.

I read this book some time ago and forgot to post a review here, but I loved it! As I love all of Kristy Woodson Harvey’s books.

I wish half-star ratings were an option because Feels Like Falling is a solid 3.5 for me. The themes of friendship and resilience made it a comforting quarantine read, and I can see it being a great beach read someday, too. Kristy Woodson Harvey creates a breezy, feel-good atmosphere, and the backdrop of the North Carolina coast adds an inviting charm.
That said, I found it hard to fully connect with the characters. Gray, while admirable in her professional success, came across as a bit shallow, which made it tough to root for her at times. Diana’s backstory—particularly her royal-family-naming gimmick—felt like it belonged in something like The Babysitter's Club rather than a contemporary women’s fiction novel. Additionally, their rapid turnaround from personal crises to seemingly having their lives fall neatly into place felt a little too tidy for my taste.
Still, these are relatively minor quibbles in an otherwise enjoyable story. The book’s strongest point is its exploration of how unlikely friendships can change lives and the idea that family isn’t always about blood. Harvey has a talent for weaving together themes of second chances and personal growth, and the sunny optimism of the story makes it an easy, uplifting read.
I’ll round up to 4 stars for the feel-good vibes and the heartwarming message, even if I didn’t entirely connect with the characters. If you’re looking for an easy escape, this might be the perfect addition to your TBR pile.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC for the purpose of an unbiased review.

Loved this book. I love everything Kristy writes. She always makes you feel like sunshine and summer!

Kristy Woodson Harvey is one of those authors you can always trust to give you a meaty and engaging novel, and this is no exception. She's a master at writing southern characters who never feel like caricatures, and her plots are perfectly paced.
Feels Like Falling sat on my Kindle for far too long because I was going through trauma. When I finally read it, I was left smiling. It's such a wonderful story, with great female characters who are totally relatable.
I think this is my new favorite of her books.

This was a powerful and emotional book. It’s good for that summer book read. I learned from the characters loss and connected to it from my own tragic experiences.

Feels Like Falling has been sitting in my to read pile for too long! Kristy Woodson Harvey is a favorite author and I must have kept saving this till I needed a sure fire 5 star read. As anticipated I loved it! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED THIS ONE! Gray is 34 and feeling all of her years, along with her broken marriage. Diana is 40 and down on her luck but when there paths cross it seems it is kismet. Families are not necessarily made by blood but they certainly are kept together by so much more. These two women are brought together when both need the other at just the right time and can bolster each other up and set the paths toward the future. I highly recommend this read!

Great story by an awesome author. I think my favorite line was “Feels like falling when really you are just learning to fly”. So very true about life and how it may feel like everything is falling apart but you are just learning a new way.

This was a fun read. If you are looking for a fun summertime book about woman's relationships and life changing events, then this is a good book to curl up with on the beach or on your couch in the AC and get swept away into their world. I find with this author, either you love her or hate her writing, there is no in between. I happen to love her and I will definitely be excited to read more by her.

Green Gables Book Reviews thoughts about Feels Like Falling
If you’re looking for a laid-back, easy to get back to if you’re interrupted read, a beach read with a bit of romance, here it is. Very likable characters, lots of emotion, maybe a little bit of predictability, but it also has some unpredictable “wins” you hope each of the women in the book will get! I’ve read Feels Like Falling twice, and I’ll look for more from Kristy Woodson Harvey!
About Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey
Main Character “Gray”-a planner, driven, focused, started her own business in college-now a multi-million dollar company, gorgeous house of her dreams, a great son.
BUT, Gray is working through a divorce, because her husband has chosen his young, blonde executive assistant over her. The assistant Gray had hired for him after she promoted him to the CFO of her company. Gray is doing her best to hold her head high and keep her pride when all she wants to do is fall apart.
Main Character “Diana”-Named after royalty, as were her three siblings. Diana has not had an easy life. Their mother left them alone when they were very young, and for as long as they could, they tried to make it on their own. She has never had an adult relationship last. Diana hates her job developing photos and isn’t very good at it. When she gets fired, it’s because of Gray, and it’s the same day Diana broke up with her boyfriend, who stole her money and gambled with it. With no money (and now no job), she ends up sleeping in her car.
Diana isn’t sure why she goes to Diana’s house. She recognized the address from years ago, before Gray lived there, as somewhere Diana used to clean, back when she cleaned houses. She has nothing to do, so she sits on Gray’s front step. When Gray arrives, Diana tells her about being fired, and eventually, Diana starts working for Gray.
It doesn’t take long for either woman to realize they rely on each other. And, they become friends. Then, like family as they navigate the divorce, new relationships, old relationships, and facing their feelings head-on about their lives. And, there are several surprises along the way!

I love KWH books and this one was no exception. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this one and I cannot wait for the next one!

This was a perfectly pleasant summer read that didn't overall wow me, but I did enjoy reading. Harvey does a great job of setting a beachy scene and did so in such a great way in this book.

Thank you for the advanced copy of this book. My reviews can be read on my GoodReads account here: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1335387-kelly

Feels Like Falling is the story of friendship, second chances, and strong family ties. When it comes to Southern Lit, nobody does it better than Kristy Woodson Harvey. I can hardly wait to read her next one.

A fun and refreshing read with a beautiful setting and characters you can invest in! The focus is on friendship, how some people enter your life because you need them at that moment. The two main characters are Gray - a successful woman in charge of her own company while going through tough times - and Diana - the underdog, never-lucky-in-love, recently homeless. This is a story of love, loss and friendship. I enjoyed it very much and looked forward to escaping every night after work into the lives of Gray and Diana!
Thanks to Kristy Woodson Harvey, Gallery Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

If you haven’t discovered Kristy Woodson Harvey you must run out now and get this and her trilogy. She is one of the best southern writers out there. This book was a quick read as I loved all the characters in the book and the storyline. They and it gripped my heart and didn’t want to let go!

Feels LIke Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey - At least one of my Instagram friends said they read this and really liked it, so I figured it was worth a shot. The promo pages before the actual story kept calling Woodsen Harvey a great Southern Fiction novelist and I can’t really explain it but it had me feeling some sort of way. Like what exactly is Southern Fiction? Is it so different than Northern Fiction? What about Midwest Fiction? Who’s writing that? What about Mid Atlantic Fiction? It’s just weird. Anyway, back to the book. I tried to keep an open mind, but in 2020 I’m not very interested in reading about a wealthy white lady who’s life gets turned upside down and she becomes a better person after she realizes poor people are humans too. Maybe that isn’t the actual plot and it’s just me being a judgey mcjudgerson, but that is how it felt. So I noped out and moved on with my life.

Kristy has become one of my favorite southern authors!! This book was heartwarming, I loved each character. I can't wait for her to write more!
