I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A cute book. Bright colorful illustrations. A very simple story. I think this would be great as a board book as I think it is far too simple for older children.

We are big train fans in our house! We have other Stanley books in our collection. These are fun gifts for boys and girls.

This is a cute book that both grandchildren (ages 3 & 6) enjoyed. I was not aware of the Stanley series, but will look for more of them. This story has Stanley and his friends taking several others on a trip. Stanley has to get up early to get the train ready to go before loading up. The story shares the various jobs that need to be done on the train as well as showing a short visit to the beach and a trip home. The illustrations are large and colourful. There was a lot in them to talk about and help to identify the words in the text. The only thing my children didn't like were the sounds the train made. They prefer chug instead of chuff and toot instead of peep. They both like trains, so this made the story even more enjoyable. This would be a good story in a preschool or primary classroom when learning about community helpers, even if Stanley is a guinea pig, or transportation.

As with all of William Bee's books, this is simplistically illustrated be incredibly eye-catching. A fun little ride on a train for all who enjoy his work.

My daughter loved this book. Kept asking for the train book. We will definitely be getting the full version to see pictures.

I'm guessing this is supposed to be for younger kids, but the story was just not very interesting. Even for a child, I think. I wanted to hear more about the train and less about the guests and what they did. I guess I just had too many high hopes for this book. Wasn't what I was looking for.

This story will delight little train enthusiasts I'm sure. Stanley, the train driver, is up early preparing for another busy day. He oils and greases all the moving parts and his cohort Charlie shovels coal into the firebox. Wherever could they be headed?

Their friends board the train carrying a beach ball, a toy boat, and an inner tube. Can you guess their destination?

You will love the clever little guinea pig who stars in other books in the series. The illustrations are bold, colourful and animate the text. After a busy day of activities the train heads back home.

"But it's over too soon, and everyone heads back to the train.
Stanley and Charlie shovel the coal, pull the levers... and very quietly blow the whistle while everyone snoozes. Peep."

Then at last it's Stanely turn to pamper himself before it's time for him to go bed and get some well-deserved sleep. This is a lovely little book with a message about caring, friendships and of course ... TRAINS! Storywraps gives it hugs of approval!

Cute story! I think little train enthusiasts will love hearing this book read and looking at he illustration! It looks like all the little critters are gerbils or hamsters, maybe mice! They all board the train to go to the seaside where they have load of fun. Illustrations aren't too busy, so littles will enjoy seeing what the little critters are doing on each page.
