Hidden Hearts is what I hope to be a long running new series by Marci Bolden. As the story progresses the reader is able to meet the women who work at the HEARTS Investigative Services. I loved the name though it took me a little while to work out the HEARTS part of it. However, the focus of the story is on former Army Sergeant Holly Austin who heads up this company.

As Detective Jack Tarek and Holly work on a couple of missing women cases we learn more about Holly. A mystery that is not easily solve along with the time sensitive makes this an unbeatable read. When the suspense and danger become more personal it is impossible to put the book down. Well done from the opening scene at the grocery story until the very last one with Jack and Holly this is an amazing roller-coaster of a ride book.

This romantic suspense with the emphasis on suspense is different from anything I have rad by Ms. Bolden. Yet, it may be my favorite book which is saying a lot since she has become a favorite author of mine in the contemporary romance genre. Now I can’t wait for more about this group of investigators.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hidden Hearts is by Marci Bolden, who is a new to me author. This is book number one in the Women of Hearts series. Hearts Investigations is an all women private investigation agency. This story has all the things you want in a good book, romance, suspense, drama and kick ass women!! Can’t wait to read about the rest of the women!!

This is a great start to a new for me series. I just saw that books two and three for the series are out in Kindle so definitely checking out the rest of the crew from HEARTS stories.
While I found Holly more than a bit prickly, she grew on me and I loved her with Jack. There was a perfect mixture of romance and suspense that had me staying up all night devouring this book. While I don't want to say anything that will ruin the story for you, the layers of the characters and crime will keep you reading long after you should have turned off the light.

This is one of those books where I went in blind and wasn't disappointed. I liked how complex the characters are in this book. It adds so many layers to the story. The writing drew me in and kept me hooked throughout the book. I enjoyed how different this book is from what I have been reading. It's got romance suspense and action. It can work for many genres. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

What a wonderful story! I wasn't too sure, since I have never read a story by this author, but it was fantastic!

Holly and Jack are so cute. It seems no one is good in this book. Well at least all the bad guys. HEARTS is a great group of women who are fierce, loyal and broken in some way. Holly takes the lead on this case of finding a missing woman. It ends up being more then one missing woman. Jack comes to Holly for help with a second missing woman. The sparks do fly for these two. Holly and Jack work together to solve these mysteries while seeing what is happening between the two of them. You will learn about Holly's past while trying to figure out who the bad guy is. I can't wait to find out what happens to all the HEARTS ladies in future books.

This is the first book in a new series by Marci and I loved reading it. This is a romantic suspense where the main character is a strong women and knows what she wants and it is also a real page turner with twists and turns, danger and intrigue. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I have read many of Marci's books and she never disappoints her readers. She is an amazing author and talented writer and I definitely recommend you read her books.

Marci Bolden is new to me but I’m glad that I found her. Holly and the rest of the women at HEARTS are strong and capable. Jack was very comfortable with being in a relationship with a strong woman without being a wimp. This was well written and concise, not too wordy (sometimes it’s not how many words that are written but how they’re written), and steamy. I’m looking forward to reading the next installment of the women from HEARTS.

I will leave a review on Amazon or B&N on Oct 15, 2019

I received the ARC of Hidden Hearts from NetGalley and the publisher, and this is my honest opinion of the book.

Wow, this was my first book by this author but definitely not my last! I loved this action packed storyline, a strong group of ladies and a handsome cop whom could ask for more. Holly has so many hidden layers and I loved watching them slowly drop away during the book. I enjoy reading suspense/thrillers and for me this one would fall into that catergory. I would certainly recommend this book to others.

I had no idea what to expect (I didn't read any blurbs lol)....all I knew is that previous Marci Bolden books had not let me down so I dug in. Not surprisingly, it was amazingly good. Romance? Sure...but above all that, we have a serious mystery, suspense--a classic who done it. Although I may have figured out early on who (not the exact who but a close proximity), how these two -- Detective Jack Tarek (who for the record is absolutely swoonworthy in my book) and Private Investigator Holly Austin -- work their way around the evidence and find the where, when, who, what and why is a story worth reading. But more than that, this is a story of forgiveness, forgiving yourself and letting go of the guilt and letting the love surround you. The sexy times involved are also really worth reading. I'm looking forward to more from The Women of Heart series as all these women have a story that needs to be told.

Nice mixture of police action, drama, thriller, suspense, and sweaty romance.

I love when an author takes a female and makes them the bad ass in the story. But it wasn’t so much that she was a bad ass, it’s the fact that she is hiding shame, pain, and so many other emotions. She can’t let go until she meets the one person who completely understands her.

The relationship between Jack and her is powerful. The suspense portion of the story almost takes a backseat to their budding relationship.

But there is another story going on that is tense and time is of the essence. The author uses extreme detail that can get down right shocking. She keeps us on our toes with many twists in the story.

A balanced blend of romance and suspense, Bolton writes a compelling story full of emotional highs and lows. One you won’t want to put down.

First time reading this author but not my last. Holly is a tough ex army, black belt, PI with a gun. She runs HEARTS PI agency. When she is hired to investigate and locate a clients missing wife, it brings back past failures. In comes detective Jack Tarek. He took is looking for a missing woman. A friend of his mom’s. Can the 2 cases be related.? Can Holly not only have an Agency called HEARTs but Jacks heart to?

I read this book as an arc from NetGalley

This is such a good read. The story line captured me from the first page and I was totally invested in finding out what these missing women had in common.
I liked the though of an all female investigative agency and the women were very good. both looking after getting information as well as being there for each other. In this book though the main Detective on this case was Holly. She is ex-army and has a few scars in her life, so she took on a lot. When Jack Tarek enters the picture, he is there as he wants their help as one of the missing women is his mom's friend so obviously that family asking is there.
There was no shying around the fact that these two has chemistry, however I did get irritated sometimes at Jack's insistence and yes like holly I felt he was making her weaker, so at certain points I really wanted her to throat punch him so he could leave her to getting on with the case, and not soothing his ego ( just me maybe).

With sometimes slow case progress and fast relationship moves, i found this a good read and would certainly recommend it. Cannot wait for the agency next job.

Marci Bolden is a new to me author and I thought this book had an interesting premise to it. However, I was not a fan. The writing didn't flow that well, I don't know how to describe it but it needed more to it. And less cursing!

Hidden Hearts is the first book in Marci Bolden’s new, 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑠, series and plays toward the romantic suspense genre. The plot is tight and character driven. Bolden does an excellent job with character development, especially with that of the main character, Holly Austin. The reader is allowed a glimpse into both intrinsic and extrinsic factors surrounding Holly’s tough demeanor, making her relatable. While some of the dialogue does seem repetitive and the trope is a bit familiar, the book moves fast and does not feel weighted down or overdone. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre. 4 stars.

Thank you to #NetGalley for this ARC of #HiddenHearts which I read and reviewed voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.25⭐

Hidden Hearts was a well written, well paced mystery. With a big dose of romance and really strong characters. And I was easily absorbed throughout. But especially when the investigation into the two missing women hit its peak. As for me, that's when it truly became a page turner. And with an interesting dynamic between the two lead characters, not to mention a detective agency run solely by women there was plenty to savour. And I'm excited to read more from this author and series in the future.

Would happily recommend.

A heart-pounding story till the last page!

Holly Austin has been a loner since she was eight ... when her mother died and her father became an alcoholic. After two tours in the army she opens her own Private Investigation firm with other women just like her. One week into a missing woman case, Detective Jack Tarek barrels into her office with a second missing woman who vanished the same way as in Holly's case. The attraction between the two is evident to anyone who sees them together, but they have to keep their minds on the cases and find these women ... dead or alive.

I just love Ms Bolden's books and this one is no different. I could not put it down, reading into the wee hours of the morning ... on a work day! I loved that Holly was tough as nails and she didn't let anyone get away with anything. I laughed so hard when she met Jack and body slammed him. And then there's Jack ... a strong man who's protective and has a heart of gold ... what's not to love? This book checked all the boxes for me ... it was funny, it was intense with lots of twists, the steamy scenes were ... WOW! ... and then there were many WTF moments. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait for the next book in this series!

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

I have read several Marci Bolden books and I've enjoyed them all, but this is by far my favorite of what I've read. I was enthralled from the second I began reading and she kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat the entire way through.

Holly Austin is a former Army Sergeant and heads up the team at the HEARTS agency. When she is hired to look into the disappearance of a woman, things take a turn when a second woman goes missing and she begins to see that there is a definite link between the two, but just what is it?

Detective Jack Tarek comes to see out Holly when the second woman goes missing because she happens to be his mother's neighbor. He's been warned to stay out of it by his superiors at the police department, but he doesn't list and he and Holly begin working together to figure out what has happened to these women.

Not only is the suspense in this book fantastic, but the growing feelings between Holly and Jack are equally as impactful. Holly is such a strong woman and she's awesome all on her own, but when she and Jack come together, they are a formidable pair. There is humor, romance, suspense and this storyline may feel all too real, but it was such a well told story. Kudos to Marci Bolden for a super strong start to this new series!

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I am pleased to say that I am hooked. Romantic suspense is my favorite genre, and in most cases, I feel like there is either too much suspense and not enough romance, or vice versa. In this case, I felt like the balance was spot-on. I was immediately captivated by the world of HEARTS and stayed riveted to the story until the very end. The author has created a group of women whose stories promise plenty of intrigue. I will be anxiously awaiting the next one!

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and Pink Sand Press for providing an ARC for review.
