This is the first book I've read by this author, and I am pleased to say that I am hooked. Romantic suspense is my favorite genre, and in most cases, I feel like there is either too much suspense and not enough romance, or vice versa. In this case, I felt like the balance was spot-on. I was immediately captivated by the world of HEARTS and stayed riveted to the story until the very end. The author has created a group of women whose stories promise plenty of intrigue. I will be anxiously awaiting the next one!

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and Pink Sand Press for providing an ARC for review.

Julia Frederickson has been missing for over a month and when the police have no luck finding her, her husband contacts Hearts Investigative Services. Holly Austin, former army sergeant, started the private agency after leaving active service. When another woman goes missing, she is contacted by Detective Jack Tarek. A second woman is missing, abducted in the same manner. Since this latest victim is a friend of Jack’s mother, his department will not allow him to be a part of the investigation. Clues are scarce, but she agrees to work with him as they go back over every piece of information that she, her team and his department have learned. When a third woman is abducted, time is running out. Worried that the first two women may already be dead, will they find this latest victim in time? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Not your typical detective novel, Hidden Hearts by Marci Bolden follows former Army Sargeant Holly Austin as she tries to solve the case of several missing women, which the police haven't been able to solve. It becomes more complicated when police dectective Jack Tarek gets involved, unofficially, as one of the missing women is his mother's neighbor and friend.

As sparks fly between Holly and Jack, will they be able to set aside their attraction and concentrate on the case? Or will their distraction cause them to put themselves in danger? As they close in on their suspects, the tension rises and plot twists keep you guessing until the very end. A thoroughly enjoyable novel, with well drawn characters who leave you wanting more...I'm glad this is the first in a series!

There's no mistake that this book whisked me off to a new life that might not be entirely to my liking. This book proves how important a good beginning is. It quickly drew me in and kept me invested.

In the world that Marci Bolden created no one is safe, a mystery that is also heartbreakingly honest. That’s the way we like our mysteries.

We start with Julia. Julia Frederickson goes missing. Hidden Hearts is told from differing perspectives. When a second victim is discovered, with the kidnapping bearing all the same hallmarks as the first, former Army Sergeant Holly Austin and her team at the HEARTS agency needs to work fast to discover how else the two women were linked.

Police Detective Jack Tarek joins the hunt with a personal matter that made him finding these women is so deeply important to him, that will lead him to a painted and well claustrophobically dangerous effect in the horror of the hunt for missing women that is well enough going nowhere.

However, you also can find humor, romance, unexpected horror, maybe on this last one, not as it can be expected but certainly, it has elements surprisingly truly horrific and creepy cause the mystery can’t remain unsolved.

These may sound like the elements of a traditional detective novel but I love the tough, snappy voice in this book, as well as the way the main character Holly can kickass and relatable at the same time.

Too much reality in this book, but it's also, usually right till the extent that is realistic.

Pleasantly surprised. This is the first I've read by this author. Just the type of contemporary romance I like to read - looking forward to seeing how the characters grow as the series grows. Looking forward to book 2.

Hidden Hearts (ebook) by Marci Bolden This is the first book in the new series (HEARTS SERIES Book 1) Thank you to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. This is the first book I have read by Marci Bolden but it won't be the last. This book definitely grabs you and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It has everything a romantic mystery could have.. very evil people, terror, murder, tears, laughter, steam, good friends and coworkers and wonderful (H) Jack Tarek and strong (h) Holly Austen. You do get to a HEA.. and also know there will be more stories of the other women of HEARTS. Can't wait.

I saw this book on NetGalley while browsing through titles available for review. I was about to pass it as I've never heard of Marci Bolden before, but then the cover caught my eye. I read the Description and it sounded ok, so I thought why not, if it turns out to be a waste of time at least I won’t have spent money on it….
Boy, am I happy I chose to request it! I LOVED THIS BOOK! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! Loved everything about it! The suspense storyline that kept me engaged throughout the whole book, the characters of Holly and Jack, the romance between them, the fact that Holly was the bossy, gruff character (or “the alfa woman” as Jack would call her) and Jack was the more laid back, easy-to-smile and joke one, that loved to banter with Holly and make her blush, I literally loved EVERYTHING!
One reviewer pointed that to her the mystery/suspense side of the book was predominant, while another said there was too much romance and she would have liked to see more suspense… Though I respect their opinions I, personally, can’t agree with either one of them. I found the book to be the perfect blend of suspense and romance and couldn’t have wished for more in either area!
As soon as I finished the book, I checked the author’s web page and list of books on Amazon, and I believe this is Marci’s first romantic-suspense novel. I can honestly say this book is a GEM in the genre and I’m ECSTATIC the author decided to venture in this field! Moreover, this is the first book in what looks to be a series (the HEARTS series) and I can’t wait for the other books to come out!
Thank you NetGalley and Pink Sand Press for allowing me to read and review this title! This has been an unexpected (but lovely) surprise and the upcoming HEARTS series is definitely going on my “auto-buy” list. If the rest of the books are even half as good as this one, I’m sure I’ll love them!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book sent to me via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

As this was my first time reading a book by this author I was going into this quiet blank not knowing what to expect but she pleasantly surprised me. Though I would have liked a bit more on the mystery aspect the book was heavily leaning on the romance aspect more, not that I am complaining. I would definitely like to know the what happens to the rest of the amazing HEARTS gang.

Holly and Jack are two people who, despite the circumstances of their meeting,, are dealing with a seriously sizzling attraction to each other. Women are disappearing fast. Holly has already been hired to find the first woman==by her husband. Jack decides to work with Marci because, he's too close to the investigation of the second disappearance.
This book is, literally, a book that you cannot stop reading!!!
When I stay up an hour longer than I ALWAYS go to sleep, in order to finish this book because, I CAN"T WAIT====I know that it's one of the best I've read this year!!!!

Marci Bolden has done it again! Hidden Hearts, the first book of her new HEARTS series, is a must read and had the pages turning and my heart in my throat. This book is FAR different from her previous works, which are incredible in their own right, but Hidden Hearts has a special place in my romantic suspense filled heart (pun intended). I cannot wait to continue what I believe will be an incredible series from an incredible author.
Bravo Marci!

This is a good read overall. I liked the crime solving in the book and I would have preferred more of it.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I enjoyed the story overall, but I felt as if it was a bit slow at times. I didn't feel the romance between the main characters as I would have liked too, and it was more on the mystery/suspense side than romance, but perhaps that was the intention?

Thank you for the opportunity to review this book.

I've read other books by this author but I had a difficult time getting into this one. It reads as more of a romantic thriller, than a true suspense thriller and there was a lot of objectifying in the beginning that left me feeling meh. The characters and plot were well developed but I had a tough time warming up to Holly. The suspense build up was good and the bad guys were definitely bad. A decent start to a new series by the author.

Thank you to the author/publisher/Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
