Christian White, I must say you had me so bewildered throughout most of this book. Kudos to you though for throwing me off guessing what had happened at almost every twist. The story is told from you guessed it the wife and the widow and both storylines were compelling. Fast paced thriller that was an entertaining read.

Fantastic novel. The characters, especially Abby, were so relatable and likable. You almost fall in love instantly with her. I thought at one point I could guess exactly what was happening but I was wrong. I gave up and let the author take me on a thriller journey. And boy she did not disappoint. .

If you couldn’t tell by the title alone, this story follows two women, one a wife, and one a widow. These two women find their lives meeting when the husband of one of the women first disappears, then is found dead.

I really enjoyed this read! It was entertaining, easy to follow, and kept me guessing. I would definitely suggest this book.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Sorry - Did not finish. This book just didn't catch my attention. It is billed as a thriller and it just moved too slowly for my taste. The book wandered all over the place and I wanted more from it.

Not what I expected at all! I love when a book can throw me for a loop and this one did just that. Well done, well written and told from multiple points of view.

Now this is why I love NetGalley! For some reason I missed the buzz on this book and that will not happen again with this author. Nothing formulaic in this mystery filled with secrets which the two women from the title come together to uncover and solve. The unsettling setting provides the perfect backdrop. Add this author to your list of suspense favorites.

You know that book that’s been sitting on the tbr shelf way too long...the one you keep meaning to get around to...the one that looks really good but for some reason you keep choosing a different book to read instead? Well that book was The Wife and the Widow for me. I’ve had this sitting on my shelf for a long time with the intention to read it and I’m so happy I finally did!!! What a brilliant twist!

This psychological mystery alternates between the wife Abby and the widow Kate until the two perspectives eventually intersect. It’s a story best going in without knowing too much. It is also a fast paced plot that kept me engaged and eager to know how it would end.

A gracious thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Can I just say wow, I didn't see that coming and leave it there?

Quite honestly, from reading the premise, I thought The Wife and the Widow would be an interesting read, but I wasn't prepared for how dark, twisty, and psychological it would turn out to be. There is no good way to adequately describe it without spoiling it for other people. It really is best to go in blind, and only knowing that every twist and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This book was not at all what I was expecting and it totally threw me off in a good way. We are introduced to 2 women yet we don’t know how they are related. The plot unfolds like an onion being peeled layer by layer. I did not figure the ending out at all and found it both unexpected and satisfying. An overall excellent read.

Wow. At first I thought I wasn’t smart enough for this book but I had an inkling and then everything came together. I loved it! Slow burn but once I hit a certain point I didn’t stop until I finished.

The Wife and the Widow is told from two POVs. Kate has a spouse that’s harboring many secrets. She and her daughter decided to surprise him at the airport after a business trip but unfortunately, the surprise was on her. He wasn’t there and after trying to reach him at work finds out he hasn’t been there in months. Abby also a wife and mother is striving to help make ends meet. Her husband works as a caretaker where Kate’s husband was finally found. Dead. How do their lives intertwine? I don’t want to divulge plot points as to not give anything away. There was a twist that I didn’t expect, and I must say the story kept my attention till the end. It’s an engrossing quick read that I definitely recommend.

This book actually surprised me! I loved the alternating POVs of The Wife and The Widow and the story was really captivating. The characters were likeable and the twists were well put together. I would definitely read another book by this author!

The story takes place on Belport Island in Australia, where Kate, married to John, has a holiday home. One day Kate arrives to pick him up from the airport and he doesn't show. She becomes a widow. What follows is Kate trying to unravel the mystery of what happened to her husband and trying to make sense of his newly discovered secret life.
Abby is a island local, married to Ray. When she learns a murder has happened in their small town she's curious and wants to learn more - but as she does she begins to think that maybe her husband knows more than he's admitting.
The story bounces back and forth between Kate and Anna's POVs - Anna in the past and Kate in the present. It comes together at the end as you learn how the two stories fit together. It was a great twist that I didn't see coming! This was a great book that I read pretty quickly!
Thanks to Christian White, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the ARC.

A thrilling, entertaining story that will have you hooked from the very beginning.

First meet Kate. She is married to a man named John. Imagine being married to your husband and when you arrive with your daughter at the airport to pick him back up from a work trip he doesn't show? When you call his work, they tell you that he hasn't worked there for over 3 months. What would you do? What would you think?

Next meet Abby, she is married to a man named Ray. Together they have a teenage son.

This story is told from alternating pov's... parts are told from Abby's pov in the past and others are told from Kate's pov in the present. I love books that have alternating timelines and alternating pov's so this book was right up my alley! I loved the main characters and reading about their lives and hearing their story. How do their stories relate to one another?

A book that I devoured and highly recommend to everyone! You will be addicted once you begin reading so make yourself comfy when you sit down to begin this book, as you will not want to put it down until you've turned the last page!

Dang! I finally found a thriller that I couldn't put down! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. This one is really fast-paced & I loved the dual narration. If you're struggling to find a thriller that keeps you guessing, give this one a go!

Wow! A well paced, thrilling book!
A little confusing at times with the alternating perspectives, but a very enjoyable read. The characters were all incredibly real, and there was even an element of an unreliable narrator going on with one of them, which I really enjoyed. Loved the endingGo out and get it!!
