Mr Maybe was the first book I've read by this author. It was quite interesting. I quite enjoy stories having to do with crafts and hobbies. This was a good read.

Synopsis:
Bridal shop alterations expert Kit Baxter lives a nightmare when forced to tailor her grandmother's wedding gown for the traitorous cousin who's marrying her ex-boyfriend. Add in a favor owed to her next-door neighbor and she's in over her head. When he asks her to provide temporary housing for Shane Dugan, a hunky new fire department recruit in need of temporary housing, she declines. She changes her mind when Shane agrees to play the part of her boyfriend at the looming wedding festivities. What starts out as two strangers with a bargain evolves into something more, and for the first time since her world turned upside down, Kit starts to think...maybe.

Mr. Maybe was so cute! There were a couple of characters that I didn't connect with, but overall the story was funny and lovable. I think if you are looking for a quick read with romance, this is it!

This was such a cute book! I absolutely loved it! The story moved along well without any big gaps or slow moving sections. I really liked the characters, I thought they were well fleshed out and were believable as a couple.

This turned out to be a good story even though at times you could see where it was going. The author did a good job of keeping just enough fun moments with serious ones with the characters. Kat Baxter works at a bridal shop as a seamstress and low and beholds her cousin comes in wanting her to change their grandmother’s wedding dress for her upcoming wedding. The groom just happens to be Kat’s ex-boyfriend whom she caught them kissing at Christmas Eve. While this is going on in walks Kat’s soon to be a new tenant for she needs a roommate. He one Shane Dugan is going to the fire academy and must live in town. Right then they agree that he will act like her boyfriend and her cousin and aunt are satisfied. Wrong he is now invited along with Kat to all of the functions that this bride has before the wedding. Meanwhile, Kat and Shane are getting to know one another and things are looking good until a few days before the wedding and Kat sees Shane kissing his old girlfriend who he said was in Milan, Italy. Now feeling once again suckered by a guy she does not know what to do? The characters in this book really add to this story especially Hop her neighbor, Kat’s mother and even Larry, Shane’s friend. Overall a good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

This was a cute PG read. Maybe it was the length of the book, but I felt the character development and chemistry just wasn’t quite fully there for me. I liked both Shane and Kit and the surrounding characters (I want Hop as my neighbor). All in all I would recommend.

I will say I did not read the first book in this series so I am not sure what I missed, however that being said this is a new book new author for me. I found the storyline cute, not very original in fact I found the story completely predictable. I did like Hop and Kit's mom they were so funny and cute. Kit seem to never let her guard down evening certain situations in the book where is seemed the author wanted you to think it was down. I also felt like sometime the author repeated herself regarding Kit's "situation". I did like Shane but he too seemed on the fence almost the whole story. The book does have some sex in it and some language. Over all this book did feel like quick read to me. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

A very cute story that I enjoyed immensely. I do wish there had been a bit more character development, but the storyline was done very well. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Oh my!! Who doesn’t love a hot firefighter?!? Well, obviously his girlfriend. Shane Dugan, moves back to his town to become a fireman, while his girlfriend goes to Milan to work. He needs to find a place to live for a short time, enter Kit; bridal seamstress. Her and Shane meet through her next door neighbor, Hop. And all I can say is let the games begin. Kit’s life is totally messed up since her boyfriend feel in love with her cousin; which said cousin is marrying in their grandmas wedding dress. Yeah, not Kit’s finest moment. Shane saves the day by fibbing, he is kit’s new boyfriend. When this wedding is done, will Kit and Shane be done too?

Cute and sweet with a bit of spice thrown in. It’s a book that will not take you long to read because it’s so well done. The characters are well bodied and reliable as well as the setting.

Mr. Maybe by M. Kate Quinn is the 2nd book in The Sycamore River Series, and my first book by this author. I really liked this book, a delightful romantic comedy that I enjoyed. What's not to like about a handsome firefighter. Kit Baxter boyfriend of 2 years, kissed her cousin, Co-Co, under the mistletoe last Christmas, and they are now getting married. On top of that Kit has to tailor her beloved grandmother's wedding dress to fit Co-Co, although she wanted to wear it for her wedding some day. Kit allows Shane, a new firefighter, to rent a room from her, if he pretends to be her boyfriend at the wedding. What could go wrong? I look forward to reading more books by this author. I highly recommend this book is you enjoy rom-coms.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Wild Rose Press. Thank you.

Kit is a seamstress for a struggling wedding dress shop. She’s in a little over her head after buying her first home and a tree just fell on her car. She’s ready for a break when her cousin calls the bridal shop for an appointment to have Kit’s grandmother’s wedding dress altered for her wedding...to Kit’s ex-boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Shane is about to start training to be a firefighter, but needs a temporary place to live in order to have an in-city address. They strike a deal; Kit will allow him to move in for 3 months and Shane will agree to be her fake boyfriend for wedding events, but will Mr. Maybe turn into Mr. Right?

This was a really cute, quick read. Shane is a nice guy who starts off just trying to help out, but quickly finds himself attracted to his roommate. Kit is an everyday girl. She is just trying to get by, but is struggling with her life for this moment. She doesn’t want to let this man in her life, but finds it hard to resist his goodness.

The only thing I found hard about this one is there is no follow through. The shop is struggling, so she agrees to take on her cousin dress to amp up the businesses vintage dress rep. But what happened with the shop? This was supposed to take place over three months, but the story seems to take place over a week or two. There were all these references to how well Shane knows Kit and talking over coffee, but we never see any of that. I tend to hate reading about minutia in novels, but I feel like we needed more to show them falling in love. Kit is so against a man in her life, but it seems like they fall in love very quickly.

Overall, this was a quick, but very adorable read. I really liked Kit and Shane. It hit on my two pet peeves in romance, but handled them so well, I didn’t mind. Kit has the whole “I was hurt and now I’ll never love again” thing going, but the betrayal was awful and it only happened 6 months prior, so she is still healing. There was a miscommunication, but I feel like everyone acted reasonably in the moment.

Worth a read. Especially if you like cute, relatively clean reads.

I enjoyed this romance with Kit and Shane, even though they were pretending to be involved at the start .it all worked out in the end.
Never took a liking to the cousin or ex both too self centred, they certainly didn’t overly worry about Kit.
Definitely will look out for the authors next book .
Many thanks to publisher and NetGalley for a advance copy for my honest review.

Kit Baxter is an expert at wedding dress alterations and is asked to alter her grandmother’s gown for her cousin who is marrying Kit’s ex-boyfriend. Kit agrees even though it was always her dream to wear this dress. Kit’s neighbor needs a favor and since the older gentleman has helped her, she feels like she should help him. He has a new firefighter needs a place to stay for three months as he must live in the city where he works.

I thought this book was light and fun!

I enjoyed this cute story. A nice take on the fake relationship. No cheating by the H or h. The plot was pretty good, the character development could have been a little stronger. I also would have liked seeing a little more time together with the H&h. Overall, an enjoyable quick read. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Will they be found out or will love develop between them for real?
I enjoyed this story; I had read the first book in this series and had background and knew the characters though it is not necessary as there is enough background in the book to follow the story line. It is a quick read and the characters are interesting. I just know I’ve met this cousin! I give this book 5 of 5 stars. It is funny at times and serious at others. The situations the characters get into are very much like real life.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Kit Baxter's life has been somewhat...complicated lately. At Christmas, she caught her cousin and her (Kit's) boyfriend kissing under the mistletoe. Now the two are getting married and her cousin wants the bridal shop Kit works at, Kit specifically, to alter their grandmother's dress. The dress that Kit has always wanted to wear at her own wedding. But she can't complain or she'll be accused of being petty. And the shop needs the word-of-mouth anyway. The one bright spot, the fact that she's been able to buy her house on the water. Of course, it's a fixer-upper. And that dead tree did just fall and crush the car she doesn't have comprehensive insurance for. So, she needs a way to make some money.
Shane Dugan needs a place to live. In order to get his dream job as a paid fire fighter, he needs to prove residence in the area. And the apartment he had locked down isn't going to be ready for 3 months. So Kit's neighbor comes up with a plan, Shane lives at Kit's and pays rent; Kit gets money.
Kit isn't so sure it will work, but when she accidentally lies to her aunt and cousin to get them off her back, she decides that, if Shane will pretend to be her boyfriend, he can live with her.
I do like a fake relationship story and this was an interesting setup with Shane already having a girlfriend. Kit and Shane have some low level vibes but absolutely nothing happens before he breaks up with his girlfriend (which I appreciated... there were some glances and feelings but nothing else.)
