This time Lisa Renee Jones gives us a pair of holiday romances that will just make you feel good.

Tangled Up in Christmas
This is a heart warming second chance romance. I loved that Roarke was determined to win back Hannah and was willing to do whatever it takes including keeping some damning revelations from her. Hannah knows she is not immune to Roarke AKA the Horse Wrangler. He tamed her once so avoiding him is her primary goal. Fate and friends had something to say about that and the end result is two people who never stopped loving each other finally get their HEA.

Santa Baby
Caron Avery is a quiet, reserved small business owner by day but for one night she becomes a sexy bombshell who captures the attention of business mogul, Baxter Remington. He sees the beyond the costume to the honest, forthright, intriguing woman beneath and sets out to seduce her. Fantasies are great but reality is so much better. A company scandal and an over zealous FBI agent may thwart this budding relationship but some well placed fatherly advice puts things back on track for a merry HEA.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance, especially because it was set around Christmas, and I seem to be a sucker for a good holiday romance. Tangled Up In Christmas was a quick read with the perfect amount of steamy bits.

Well, I’m a Lisa lover. Met her with Sara and Chris in If I Were You and have loved every book from then on. This addition is a good one! A second chance at love is always a feel good book if written the right way. This was written the right way.

Roarke and Hannah were fun and it was a heartfelt story and perfect to get you In the mood for Christmas! Loved it! There is always a backstory for these and it was nice to see the feelings were still there after a few years, understanding was needed on the why's and some forgiveness and then it all clicked as it should. Love it!

This was just okay. The writing wasn't bad, but it just felt off to me for some reason. There were parts that I felt like I was told rather than shown, and that just doesn't make a good book for me. I wasn't a fan of the h, she was very immature and acted more like a teenager than a grown woman. Rourke was better, but I wasn't a huge fan of them together. Hannah ran away because she thought Rourke cheated on her, but she forgave him pretty quickly. The ending was okay, although I would have like more with the epilogue.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I'm not one for cowboys normally, but this is Lisa Renee Jones we're talking about, and I would read anything she puts out, even if the story takes place in Texas. Tangled Up in Christmas is a second chance at love, which was different than what I'm used to from this brilliant author, but no less amazing. It's the story of Roarke & Hannah, two people who are perfect for each other, and should have never been apart to be honest, but crap happens. Unfortunately, since people suck & make mistakes, she took her broken heart & got the hell out of town. Now, Hannah is back home after losing her job, and while she knows she needs to stay away from Roarke, as it was his fault they broke up in her eyes, they're each other's lobsters, so what she should have done was out the window quickly. Especially since their lethal chemistry never died down. So, she's determined to keep her heart protected, but when fate steps in, well, you just don't have that much of a choice. Did Hannah ever forgive Roarke?! Well you'll have to one click this delightful, second chance story with a little Christmas magic thrown in for good measure, that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Book Review- Tangled up in Christmas by Lisa Renee Jones

The author introduces Roarke in a previous book. He is Jason’s best friend. I was thrilled to see him get his own story. I liked how the author brought back the woman he let get away and has never forgotten. They have a lot of history, fears and heartbreak to get through. I think it is awesome to see all the previous characters welcome her with open arms. She comes home and reconnects which is cool.
The chemistry between Roarke and Hannah is definitely there. You can almost feel it. However, the trust is gone. Roarke has some secrets he is keeping, and he knows what it will do to Hannah when he tells her. It is fascinating to me what has truly happened and Roarke has protected her this whole time. She has no clue.
There is a lot of vindication for the reader when she figures things out and confronts her family. What family does that to their own child. It blows my mind to be honest.
The author truly makes a couple who belong together, get over the manipulation of others to be together. It was a fast read that I couldn’t put down. Roarke did not disappoint me in the least. I loved how it ended. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Book Review- Santa Baby by Lisa Renee Jones

This novella centers around Caron, who owns her own business called the Book Nook. She is just a regular person. However, in this book she gets a chance to be someone else for a little while. She gets to be Marilyn Monroe for a night. Nothing like being Marilyn to give a girl some confidence.
Hmmm… Baxter Remington doesn’t give a good first impression. He is on the hunt and finds Caron in his sights. Ugh! Not an attractive picture in my mind. He does start to grow on me as things evolve in the story. He is caught in a major issue concerning his company. Caron is a mess herself. Her luck is not always the best as she struggles to live her dream. She however is a genuine character. You like her instantly as she deals with her daily struggles. I do wish her self-esteem would have been better. Why wouldn’t Baxter want a relationship with her. She is shocked that he actually likes her. It is truly crazy.
This story had a lot of hurdles both characters had to overcome to make things work. Caron showed how smart she was. It was a good read. It brought Baxter into the light as a normal person and created more excitement for Caron’s safe life. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I received Tangled up in Christmas for free in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. I look forward to reading more by Lisa Renee Jones.

Okay, I’ve talked about this before. I’ve received – and LOVED – a lot of ARCs from Entangled Publishing, so I keep going back to them again and again. But this one was a huge miss for me, and I am really sad about it. I wanted a cozy Christmas romance to read while I was driving cross country, which is what I’ve been up to this week and why I’m another week behind on Marshmallow Fridays. I’ll make it up to y’all at some point, I swear! But in any case, this was a huge disappointment for me, which is why I ended up not finishing it.

Tangled Up in Christmas is about Hannah, a photographer and event planner, and Roarke, a veterinarian and the infamous Horse Wrangler, who has become a YouTube sensation. They grew up together in Sweetwater, Texas, falling in love after Hannah finished college and Roarke finished vet school. They got engaged, and then Hannah ran, leaving Roarke behind while she built her career as a photographer in LA. She believed Roarke cheated on her, and she didn’t think she’d ever get past it. But now she’s back in Texas, back in Sweetwater, helping her old friend Jason and his new bride plan the best Christmas festival ever… and Roarke is part of it too. Can the two of them get past their old feelings of hurt and pain, and start anew?

tuicAlso, this cover doesn’t fit the story at all!
I DNFed at 56%.

Why I DNFed
Here’s the thing about this book – for me, it’s already done. Some slight spoilers ahead. At the point where I DNFed, Hannah and Roarke were back together and happy, the conflict with Hannah’s family had been addressed and solved, and the festival was already over. So… why was there still 44% left in the book?? I stopped because I didn’t really want to know any more. The pacing was terrible throughout, in fact – it glossed over some parts that I wanted to know so much more about and dragged through things I didn’t care about. Like the festival, the thing that brought Hannah back to Sweetwater in the first place? That was told over maybe 10 pages TOTAL. It was the whole reason she was there, and it was glossed over entirely. But we needed a bazillion pages on Hannah getting her luggage at the airport. (Hey, it felt like a bazillion.) On top of that, the dialogue was completely unrealistic. People don’t monologue! People don’t say their thoughts! I don’t know how to explain how stilted it was without you seeing it, but I don’t want to drag the author too much. It’s something a good editor probably should have caught, honestly. No one talks like they’re soliloquy-ing.

Would I pick this up again?
If someone told me that something super major happened in the second half… maybe. But that’s a hard maybe. I wasn’t super into it, and I wanted so much more from it. So… Idk. Maybe, maybe not. Thumbs sideways.

Does anyone know a good, cozy Christmas romance that can scratch my itch?

Happy reading!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
The Truth About Cowboys (Texas Heat #1)

This is Hannah and Roarke’s story. She left when her heart was broken hoping to never return. But now she is back and runs into the very person that broke her heart. He wants another chance, but she is going to make him work for it. He wants forever but can he prove it?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Texas Heat perfectly describes this series. This is a second chance romance. Roarke and Hannah were driven apart years ago. Each believing their own version of the end. A chance encounter throws them back together. Old sparks that never died reignite their love story. And this time nothing, not even the true story of the previous break up, will tear them apart.

Honestly, most reviews I saw about this one focused on Roarke. Now don't get me wrong, there are many MANY reasons to focus on him...hot, alpha when need be but totally about the other person, one woman guy despite what history may say, uber vet and horse trainer/animal whisperer, big hearted, and did I mention easy on the eyes...but what I didn't see much mention of is Hannah, his heart's desire.

The girl's got a history, much of it pre L.A., "tangled" up with Roarke and friends, but the latest had her restarting her life after a scandal reached out its impact into her life. Coming home was the thing to do, and rebuilding her reputation was a step by step process she was willing to tackle, but the man distraction was not in the cards and her inability to deal with the past as head on as her work life, puts the brakes on any sort of real moving on action. I felt for her, I truly did, but there was definitely a time or two that I wanted to take her by the shoulders and say "get yourself together woman. ...grab the big girl pants and face your 'fear'"...instead of listening/reading the constant battle of feelings past and feelings present wage war within.

In the end, the story was a winner with leads worth knowing, hearts worth caring for, and enough tension to set the Texas night on fire! A definite win for Contemporary Romance fans and a prefect add to your holiday reading lists!

Roarke has never gotten over the girl of his dreams. Heck he was engaged to marry her, when she fled to California. He does know some secrets that would devastate her. Now that she back, he needs to win her love and make her his own.

No matter what she tells herself, Hannah has never gotten over her first and only love, Roarke. Years ago when she received a video of him kissing a girl, she fled to California to start a new life. Now that she’s back in Texas to start her new business, all Hannah wants to do is avoid him, but her heart is telling her other things. However, before anything can happen between them, Hannah needs answers. When she does get them, it’s absolutely shocking to her.

This was a beautiful love story at second chance.

Tangled up in Christmas & Santa Baby
by Lisa Renee JonesTwo holiday stories with happily ever afters in one volume! The first, Tangled Up In Christmas, sees Hannah and Rourke get a second chance after six years apart. There are some issues they both need to deal with before they can move on into an even stronger relationship than they had before. Small town romance between two people that definitely belonged together. The second book, Santa Baby, has Caron late to get dressed for a fashion show, put into a Marilyn Monroe rather than Audrey Hepburn costume and in that costume perhaps channeling a bit of Marilyn. Having caught Baxter Remington’s eye she has the night of life thinking it is a one off...but perhaps he thinks it could be more. What a sizzling little story this was!
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC – this is my honest review.

I've been on a self-imposed Christmas romance themed reading binge to get me in the holiday mood (pun intended). My untiring research leads me to believe that Tangled up in Christmas is one of the sexier holiday romances released this year. That's a good thing in my book.

Lisa Renee Jones never disappoints.

This is a perfect second chance romance. We meet Roarke in Truth about Cowboys. He is Jason’s best friend. He was engaged 6 years ago and lost the love of his life because of some terrible lies that were told. He never truly got over Hanna. Hanna discovered that her fiancé and best friend deceived her in the worst way possible. So she took off for California to develop her photography career. She was making a name for herself until her boss got himself in serious trouble and Hanna was negatively affected, too. So she packed up and came back home to Texas. The one person she wanted to avoid at all costs was right there at the airport, Roarke. One thing led to another and they were spending more and more time together. And old feelings were resurfacing. These two are a cute couple who were deceived in the worst way possible. Their love for one another is a joy to witness. This is a cute love story with southern flare thrown in.

Tangled Up in Christmas is a wonderful Christmas romance. This second book in Author Lisa Renee Jones’ Texas Heat series is a beautiful combination of romance, good characters, Texas, small town, and second chance romance.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and would recommend reading it. I love the small rural town romances. Roarke and Hannah are a fun, but complicated, second chance story. After the misunderstandings, the hard feelings, the push and pull, will they have their HEA or will it be too much for them to overcome… 4 stars!
