Lynette Eason never disappoints with her books. This one has a suspenseful storyline that keeps you guessing until the end of the book. Bryce and Jade’s past make an interesting backstory as they work together to find the killer. Although this book takes place during the Christmas season, this story can be enjoyed at any time of year. A good story of forgiveness and second chances.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This is a well written suspenseful, page turning, romance. Lynette Eason does a great job developing her characters and plots. If you like a fast pace, suspenseful read you will love this one.
Jade and Bryce share a past that will impact both of them more than they realize. When a friend goes missing and may be dead they must work together to try and find the killer, while staying alive.

A story that has wonderful twists and turns around the Christmas season that will leave you guessing the whole
entire way through!
I love Lynette Eason! She has a way of spellbinding you until the very end and this book did NOT disappoint me at all! I love her style of writing! She's effeminately a master storyteller!
I love the cover of this book but it's the author herself that made me want to pick up this book and read it.
Isn't it funny how the past tends to sneak up on us? Well for Jade and Bryce it certainly did!
And believe me, I can relate to that piece of the story as well.
I've always felt that it isn't good to keep secrets but sometimes you just have to to protect the ones you love? Or from hurting yourself? Secrets can eat you up on the inside out believe me I know that too. Guilty as charged but then I'm only human.
Will the secrets eventually come out or will it destroy what Jade and Bryce had?
You'll just have to read the story to find out!
I gave this book five stars because it kept me glued to my seat until I finished the book in one afternoon!
I highly recommend!
My thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

Title: Holiday Homecoming Secrets

Author: Lynette Eason

Pages: 224

Genre: Christian Romantic Suspense

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Love Inspired Suspense
I haven’t read a Lynette Eason book that I haven’t enjoyed and Holiday Homecoming Secrets. In this Christmas suspense two police detective Jade Hollis and Private Investigator Bryce Kingsley find themselves face to face with the past. Jade has a secret that Bryce has every right to know. But she keeps having a hard time trying to find the right time to tell him, and then Jade’s life is threatened more than once. Bryce vows to protect her but will he still feel the same way when he learns Jade’s secret.
Like all of Lynette’s suspense this one kept me on my toes I couldn’t putting it down. I kept reading because I just had to know what was going to happen next. That’s what makes a good suspense.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Since I totally love reading books by Lynette Eason, I was delighted to be chosen to read and review this book. It was everything I had hoped for and more! Ms. Eason knows how to tell a good story, with believable characters and a twist at the end that leaves the culprit a secret until the very end. The book is action-packed from the very beginning. It is quick-paced, with suspense building throughout. Detective Jade Hollis is working to find her missing friend Frank, unfortunately presuming that he is dead. PI Bryce Kingsley has returned to town at Frank’s request so that he can try to find out if something underhanded is happening in the police department. Both of the protagonists have a past, with each other and a secret one. Jade has a daughter that is the result of a one-night stand with Bryce. I must say that I was a little perturbed by finding this included in a Christian romantic suspense, but I continued to read and was glad that I did. Bryce’s secret is that he lost his leg during the war and is dealing with PTSD. Jade’s parents are fostering twins from a neglectful home and also helping Jade to take care of Mia. This book is one of the most well-planned books that I have ever read, with the pacing and the suspense working together to keep me enthralled. I highly recommend this book to fans of romantic suspense!

I loved the suspense in this one! I was guessing up until the end on what really happened. Add in miscommunication and secrets from the past, romance and mystery.

When I'm looking for a book with tense suspense, I pick up something written by Lynette Eason. Holiday Homecoming Secrets did NOT disappoint.

Detective Jade Hollis answers a call-out, expecting to find that the local homeless man is the culprit. Instead, she surprises a shadowy figure in the midst of burying something. Injured in the resulting scuffle, she is horrified to discover that the item being buried is a blood-covered jersey that could only belong to one person, her friend, journalist Frank Shipman. Could he have been investigating something that got him killed?

Bryce Kingsley lost part of his leg to an IED. Home now and recuperated, he's doing a ride-along with the local police when the call comes in that Jade is in trouble, requesting backup. Arriving on scene, he confirms Jade's assessment, that the jersey belonged to their friend. He doesn't tell her that Frank asked for his help to investigate some crooked cops.

As Jade and Bryce work to uncover the truth of what happened to Frank, they fight the attraction they succumbed to once when they were in college. Can a relationship survive the secret Jade has been keeping? When it becomes obvious that whoever killed Frank now has their sights set on Jade, can she stay a step ahead of a killer long enough to solve the case?

This story had me guessing all the way through. Just when I thought the bad guys had been caught, someone tried to kill Jade again. It happened several times, making the story a teeth-clencher.

If you are looking for a book that is suspenseful, with a side of romance, Holiday Homecoming Secrets will keep you up reading either until you finish, or at the very least, way past your bedtime. I absolutely recommend.

I received this book free via NetGalley, but every opinion here is MINE!

Hero & heroine had a ONS 6 yrs prior. She became pregnant and had her daughter, Mia. Hero returns in time to save her from a killer and now she has to find a way to tell him that he is a father.

Unfortunately, this is the same old theme that I have read hundreds (if not thousands) of times and the religious elements & PG rating didn't help my enjoyment either. The suspense was also lukewarm as I figured out early on who the bad guy is.

Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for the opportunity to review.

This book was riveting and even though I figured out who was behind the attempts on Jade’s life about halfway through, I was still on the edge of my seat wondering how it would all play out. For being a novella, there was a lot packed into the story and made it still feel like a full-length novel in the number of things happening in the plot.

Its the holiday season and detective Jade friend is missing possibility dead so shes off to find out who is behind this and to take them down. Bryce is a private investigator is who going to help her out with this but there is a bit of an issue. He isn't aware hes a father and its becoming more harder to keep this secret from him as old feeling start to stir.

I love a good mystery and this was pretty interesting. I loved that there was so much going on from the start of the book up until the very end with twists and turns and clues. I also thought it was interesting seeing how the two were going to be once the news comes out, I mean he keeps making it clear he doesn't want to be a father but the way he is with other peoples children seems to make people think differently. I loved that there was plenty of problems popping up here and there keeping the characters on their toes. This book was overall a pretty great I really enjoyed it.

Jade was a detective but was off duty but a call came in and she was near the location where strange lights were reported in an abandoned building. Jade called for backup but before it got there she went in the building. Before the back up got there she was hit in the head and she fell back into empty spindles. Bryce was a P I and planned to return to Cedar Canyon and open his own P I business . But then his H S buddy and journalist Frank had asked Bryce to put his business plans on hold. Bryce agreed. Frank said there was a crooked cop[s] on the force protecting those manufacturing and dealing drugs. Frank needed Bryce’s help to figure out what cops. According to Frank sources there had been two attempted stings neither was successful and in the second sting a DEA agent was killed in an ambush. People knew Bryce in this town. They knew he disappeared for awhile so when he came back , they’re going to be curious, but not expect you to be undercover. Cops don’t trust reporter not that they didn’t have a reason. Bryce would love to be a cop but with part of his leg missing that wasn’t going to happen. Frank wanted Bryce to ride along with the cops and than pretend he was trying to decide if you want to be a cop. Bryce said that wasn’t why he was coming home, he had amends to make. Jude’s pretty face flashed in his mind. Frank said all he was asking was Bryce to set up the rides and see if anything suspicious. Something was going on with the police and a local drug ring and and frank needed help figuring out what and who was involved, Bryce’s job was to keep his eyes and ears open, make a note of anything that looks suspicious .They was a call and Bryce was with Officer dylan Fitgerald. They went to the old mill. Jade- former friend? She had been much more than that. Only he’d discovered it too late. Than Bryce found Jade and she was shocked to see him. It had been six years since they had seen each other Bryce didn’t know he was the father of Jade’s five year old daughter Mia who was five. Jade had seen an old trunk before she was hit and went to examine it. Jade’s head was pounding as she went to examine the chest. Jade stumbled backwards after getting light headed. Bryce told Jade she needed medical attention they would deal with the trunk later. Than Frank comes up missing and KJade and bryce team up to find Frank.
This was a suspenseful yet romantic read. I loved the action, the fast pace and the plot. This was also well written. There was a lot to this book: danger, mystery, secrets, suspense, action, an unexpected bad guy, an abduction, twists and turns, and so much more. I didn’t want to put this down. I also loved the author brought in foster parents. I loved the characters and the twists and turns of this book and I highly recommend it.

This book pretty much had it all. From a complex crime plot to a slow friends to family romance, plus the healing of some old wounds. The pages turned from the very first until the end. Not an uncommon happening in a Lynette Eason novel. I read this quite quickly and recommend this for any romantic suspense fans, or people who enjoy Christmas stories.

Holiday Homecoming Secrets by Lynette Eason is an intriguing story. The action begins right away and does not let up until the end. I found Holiday Homecoming Secrets to be well-written and it moved at a quick pace. Lynette Eason certainly knows how to ramp up the suspense. I thought the characters were realistic and relatable (well, except for the killer). The story has a complex plot that kept me engaged. Jade Hollis is a detective with Cedar Canyon Police Department and has a five year old daughter named Mia. Bryce Kingsley has returned to his hometown after being gone for six years to establish a PI practice. He has no idea that Jade had a child after their one night encounter. I bet he will regret not contacting her now! Bryce had been dealing with some rough stuff and he is still not completely free of his demons. He has an adorable dog, Sasha who travels with him. The pair must put personal issues aside while they search for their friend and journalist, Frank Shipman. I enjoyed the multifaceted mystery with the dangerous encounters. I like that it is balanced with time spent with the kids, Jade’s parents, and trimming the tree. The romance hit just the right note. I was worried it would be the prominent feature of the book, but I was wrong. The author managed to create an intriguing and balanced story. I liked the addition of the parents who foster children and currently have siblings residing with them. You will not want to put down this page turner. Holiday Homecoming Secrets is an enthralling story with has cute kids, a darling dog, a predatory perp and serious secrets.

Detective Jade Hollis determined to find her missing friend, but doing so means teaming up with her ex Bryce Kingsley, who is a private investigator. Can they stop the killer before they strike again?

An action packed suspense, just in time for Christmas. Old flames reunite, in this fast paced Christmas adventure, with danger around every corner. I knew I was in for a wild ride when I picked this one up and I was not disappointed!

Great character interaction drives the plot along as well as great family, with many surprise twists along the way.

Bryce is ex-military, with keen skills and memories that haunt him. Jade has always had to be strong, keeping her own secrets and being someone that her family can count on. She is determined and driven to succeed.

Overall, a well written read, with great plot twists and unexpected turns. A page turner of a read, with excellent characters and interaction. Highly recommend!

Be ready for a book that will grab you and not let go, there is action around every corner, and most you won’t see coming.
You will think you know whom is perpetrating the evil, but found myself questioning my guesses, and changing my mind.
There is a strong family group here, and they embrace their loved ones, and we witness this up close, but the danger is lurking. There are some very big secrets being kept here, and when they are revealed will they be accepted?
Yes, I was surprised by the outcome here, and saddened, whom to trust?
Once this one is picked up, you will need to keep reading for answers!

When it comes to suspense, Lynette Eason really is one of my favorites. In this one, I found she had a good balance of suspense and romance—though, granted, this held less actual breath-taking suspense than some of hers I’ve read.

I’ll admit that I did solve the murderer within the first 30% or so of the book, but I didn’t find that to dampen my enjoyment. I still liked seeing the pieces unfold—especially because of how interwoven some of the plots and timetables were.

The romance was sweet. It was a tricky subject because [spoiler] Bryce and Jade had a one-nighter that left Jade pregnant, but they never married [end of spoiler]. I found that Lynette handled it well in that this wasn’t the lifestyle they lived, but rather was an unwise, emotional-driven choice as teens and their standards were different by the time this story came about. If they had no regrets for the action and if this was their pattern, I would not have enjoyed the story. But it felt like they were truly changed and repented of that choice.

The Christian content was subtle. They did pray for guidance and wisdom, but as for a thriving, growing relationship with God, it wasn’t really there, which I found slightly disappointing.

For a Love Inspired Suspense, I was happily surprised with this book, as it was deep, well-plotted, and the characters had great depth to them.

Holiday Homecoming Secrets by Lynette Eason is a well done ‘surprise you have a child” book.
The author created a realistic scenaroy that made sense as to why everything played out the way it did. you could understand the action and inactions of both Jade and Bryce.
Jade and Bryce had a physical relationship the night her mom died and he was shipping out for the military. She gets pregnant and he is in a terrible explosion and loses one of his legs.
Five years later she is an officer and he is a PI. He is helping a reporter friend work a case. The friend goes missing. They work together to find out what happened to their friend. Jade tries to decide how to tell him he has a daughter and if he will care since he keeps saying he doesn’t want kids because he is too broken. A very well done story that you empathize with everyone.
And Mia the daughter is adorable.
sexual content - previous unmarried act that results in a child
violence - murder,

This book kept my attention from the start and didn't let up! Jade is horrified by a discovery she made and even more bothered by the fact that Bryce Kingsley is back in town after being gone for years. I love that the author wrote this realistically. Jade was truly torn and her past experiences didn't help that. The friendship between the friends was deep and I was heartbroken, horrified, and surprised by what all happened.
Bryce had his own past to deal with and work through. The misunderstandings between him and Jade finally made sense in the end. I wasn't sure exactly what was going on but I cheered for them throughout. I thought Jade's family was amazing and loved the kiddos in there. Plenty of action and shocking moments throughout.
It was a 5/5 for me. I truly enjoyed it, start to finish!
