Alex and Beth had a past together but he broke her heart when he needed her most. Its been a while since then and they still bump into eachother once in a while unfortunately. Its when Alex comes to Beth so she can help a puppy he just found. Unsure of the owner they both end up taking care of the puppy until they find the owner or a new one for it. They never expected the puppy to be the one to break the ice between the two and with the more time spent together Beth heart is slowly but surly opening up towards Alex once again. I mean its not the most original book I've read but it was pretty good. If you like a contemporary romance that all about the second chances and revealing old wounds to get to the part of healing then you'll like this book. The characters were okay, I liked that there was the dual point of view with the characters to see how they were really feeling with everything that went on. Overall this was a pretty good book. |
Louisa George whisks us back to one of my favourite places The Lake District for her latest medical romance and a second chance between a couple who really do deserve their HEA. “You’re using the puppy to get me back?” “Desperate times. What can I say?” Having met Alex and Beth in A Nurse to Heal His Heart, I wasn’t quite sure what their story would bring but from snowball fights and destructive puppies to medical emergencies, they brought a little bit of everything as they realise their hearts still belong to one another several years after their engagement ended. Heartwarming and festive, it didn’t quite hit the heights Joe and Rose’s story did for me but they were still a great couple and I love how Louisa George has incorporated a subject in both books that some of us, often privately, can relate with all too well. “I just want you in my life. And not just for Christmas.” If, like me, you’re a fan of the author, second chances, doctors, cute puppy dogs or all of the above, you’ll not go far wrong here. |

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for the advanced review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Okay. So I picked up this book, and I was not able to stop reading it. I finished it in three hours. I’m a sucker for medical dramas because of The Resident... it’s one of my favorite shows ever. This one has a puppy so I couldn’t help but love it even more. I love how Beth and Alex are brought back together. Second chance romances are a plus in my book. Add in a puppy, and it’s a definitely a HEA. I’ll be doing a longer review closer to the release date and publishing that on my blog. |
