4 1/2 STARS!

With the sixth book in the Colton 911 series, Jane Godman brings us an unorthodox reunion story with FAMILY UNDER FIRE. An FBI agent and his ex-girlfriend are reunited when they are left co-guardianship of his former best friend turned criminal's baby girl.

Everett has no idea why Sean would leave him to look after his daughter, much less why he would include the woman who dumped him four years ago as part of the equation.

Alyssa might have been the one doing the dumping, but it's easy to see she still has feelings for Everett when they are reunited. It doesn't take long for playing house with little Kennedy to feel way too real!

I recommend this story to anyone loving a fast paced reunion story that has a bit of a crime to have to solve in the midst of all of the emotion and drama. The characters were easy to like and get behind cheering for.

Everett & Allysa broke up for yrs prior. They come together again when they are left their friend’s daughter to raise. There’s a bit of mystery & drama but most of all I enjoyed this 2nd chance romance that featured a likable couple and a sweet baby girl.

Everett and Alyssa never expected to see eachother again until they are brought together when they were willed a orphaned baby girl of a common friend. Looking deeper into the death of the old friends things don't seem right so they look into it, it also seems someone is after the child and will do whatever they can to get her.

If you love a good mystery suspense novel then you'll enjoy this book. I enjoyed reading this and how they dealt with getting over past grievances to do what they can to keep the child out of the system and make sure she is loved and cared for. While I love a good action packed book this was more of a stalkery, creepy notes kinda situation making things sinister and leaving the readers wondering when the next letter might come or if the person will actually take action and get the child. Overall this was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.

Colton 911: Family Under Fire by Jane Godman is a lovely romance that is part of Harlequin's Colton 911 series by Jane Godman. While this is part of the Colton 911 series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. However, once you read Family Under Fire you will want to read the first book in the series. A story full of mystery, suspense, and intrigue that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat second guessing until the very end. The characters are well-developed with interesting backstories that are full of weaknesses. Family Under Fire is a captivating story that takes place during Christmas and has the spirit of the holiday season throughout.
