I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I love all of author Slegers books and this is no different. This is a great book about what veterinarians do and how they help animals. Well written for young readers.

An informative, cute book about what veterinarians are and do. my children were a little too old for this at 6 and 10, but it was an adorable story!

I loved the style of this book. Bright illustrations with brief explanations about what a veterinarian does. This is such a fun way to learn about different professions in a way children can understand.

This was a cute book that explains to children what veterinarians do in easy to understand language for them. My Life Skills class loved this book when I read it to them.

This is a fine book about vets for kids. The reccommended age of 4 and up doesn't make much sense to me, as it is more simple than that. I have an almost four year old and it seemed a bit simple for her. There were some choices I found odd, like saying the vet has to take a picture of the puppy's tummy, instead of calling it an xray from the get go. I also didn't like the abrupt shift from the descriptive, nonfic section of the book to the two vignettes of the vet caring for a puppy and a horse. It was somewhat awkward for reading aloud.

I do like the art, it is simple without being dumbed down. The equipment is detailed enough to tell what it is, and things like xrays are included. My daughter likes to point to the ball hiding behind the puppy's ribs.

So, that's my opinion, but. My daughter really really likes it. Much more than I do. She wants to be a vet and she likes naming all the types of equipment and what the vet wears. This is the only book we've read together on my kindle (netgalley picture books are usually through ADE on my computer) and she asks for it pretty much every time I read her another digital book, so I will probably get her a print copy. I don't think she would be as delighted for this type of book in a field she isn't interested in, but I think enough kids want to be vets or have pets they take to one for a pretty wide interest level.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion. I read this book with my 7 year old daughter and she enjoyed the pictures and the lesson about what veterinarians do and how they help animals of all sizes. Illustrations and story are age appropriate. She rates this book 4 stars.

Super cute book for any child who wants to be a vet! My daughter is 6 and loved that she could read this comfortably to her little brother. Looking forward to getting the hard copy for our Library.

This book was really cute. I think it would be really helpful to teach children about what a vet does and how they help pets. It also includes the different types of animals that the vet can help. I think it could have had a bit more to it, as it felt short and almost incomplete. Also, it could have involved more of a story instead of just spewing facts. But, overall, I enjoyed it.

A nice story to teach children what to expect when taking an animal to the vet or to explain the responsiblity of having a pet to care for.

I have read a couple of books by this author previously so when I saw that she had a new release I was keen to give it a go. I really liked the images and I thought that they were excellent. The text was not as great for me as it had been with some of the other books though. It is 3.5 stars from me for this one rounded up to 4 stars for Amazon and Goodreads.

Colorful illustrations and clear descriptions of a day in the life of a veterinarian. Perfect if your pet needs to have surgery but also great just to give general knowledge about vets and what they do. The age range listed on the back of the book is 4 and up but even younger children will enjoy just looking at and talking about the pictures even if they're too young for the text.

Thank you to #NetGalley and Clavis Books for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

A little book that teaches all about who, and what is a veterinarian (vet) or an animal Doctor, and how exciting and challenging it is. It’s done in a fun and enjoyable little package, filled with vibrant and colorful illustrations. An educative experience that gets a child's imagination going.

I read this again to my G-child(she chose it), and she was much more attentive, even asking questions! I wanted to give an honest review, hence the update. I'm sure we will read this a few more times now. She still didn't want to read it herself, tho when I stumbled over the word stethoscope, she immediately corrected me lol, she's 7 so Gramma here better step up my game.

I read this to my grandchild, and while she said it was okay, she didn't seem that interested, though she loves Doc McStuffins.
It had some incidents in the normal daily routine of a veterinarian to give a child an idea of how they take care of animals. There was an emergency also, not too detailed, so no squeamishness.
I received an advance reader copy thru Netgalley and am giving my honest opinions voluntarily, along with the grandkid's.

This a great book for a child with a new pet. It walks through who a vet is and what they do. Then a little boy has a sick puppy, so we see how the vet takes care of the dog. It was written to be easily understood by a child and has some illustrations to show what different instrument look like.

This story is absolutely perfect! I work in a vet clinic and think it is very well laid out, explained well for young readers, and the pictures that accompany it are great! I also think it is EXCELLENT that the dog swallowing a ball was included as foreign objects being infested by dogs (and cats) is a very real thing that happens all too often! A great story for children!!!!

A great introduction to the world of veterinarian for little kids. I like the illustrations a lot - it's colorful and super adorable. I wish it covered more than a puppy and a pony though!

First, the illustrations in this book are so appealing and adorable! They absolutely enhance the text. This book is for young children. It begins by demystifying what a vet does. This will be helpful for children who need to take their pet to see the vet. The book then gives two examples of the vet at work. One case is about a dog and the other a pony. Both animals recover well of course.

I found this book to be very cute and a nice introduction to the field of veterinary medicine. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this read in exchange for an honest review.

A comprehensive review of what a vet does with some examples. It's complex yet easy to understand for young readers whose animal needs to visit the vet. I'm waiting for the Librarians one to be made.
