Can’t Hurry Love has everything of a Hallmark movie. You don’t think that it will suck you in, but it completely does. Small town settings are some of my most favorite. This is a sweet romance filled with fun and quirky characters that you fall in love with. And there is drama! I am here for all of it!

Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for the free ebook to read and review. When I requested this book, I thought a small town romance sounded excellent and I was all in for the premise. Unfortunately, as we all know, March 2020 did not go as planned and by the time the pub date came around - I was spending all my time doomscrolling Twitter and not reading at all. Trying to go back now and catch up on the books I missed in 2020 and this just doesn't align with my current reading desires. This is definitely all me and not about the book.

At this time, as I am guessing is obvious by the publication date that was literally years ago, I have decided not to review this title.

Technically, I made this decision a while ago, but was not as prompt with sending feedback as I should have been. My apologies for the delay, as well as clogging up your inbox with this very late review response.

As always, while incredibly late, I thank you for the opportunity to read and review one of your titles.

I thought the synopsis for Can't Hurry Love sounded so cute, unfortunately I think the book might have been a little too sweet for my tastes right now. I ultimately decided to DNF at 15%, but I may try again at a later point.

I loved the chemistry between Lola and Drew and the way that Lola was with Drew's daughter. Lola is just recovering from the loss of her husband who she discovered was cheating on her. Lola is on a quest to find out who was the person that he cheated on her with. If you are looking for a book with some shenanigans and some really inappropriate displays in windows. This is a slow-burn so if you like that then you will enjoy this one.

This was such a cute book, and a great start to a new series. This series would be perfect if made into Hallmark movies. There are some great characters in this book, and a little mystery! The romance was sweet and flirty, and there’s a whole lot of drama. I will be checking out the rest of the series for sure! I would recommend this book.

There isn’t a book of Melinda’s that I haven’t liked. This one was wonderful as usual.

The widows group is a funny and caring group. I love reading about the things they do. Lola was asked to be a member since she lost her husband a year ago. The widows group lives to matchmake and planned on doing it with Lola.

Drew the sheriff in town was a single father. He took Lola under his wing as a person he needed to look out for.

What will happen when Lola finds out her deceased husband had been cheating on her? What will happen when Drew’s ex-wife comes back in the picture? You will have to read to find out!

This was the first time I've read a book by Melinda Curtis and it will definitely not be the last! This book made me laugh, cry, and read way too late when I should have gone to bed, but I just couldn’t leave the story half finished. I want to move to Sunshine CO and be friends with everyone. Great story

Can't Hurry Love tells the story of Lola, Drew, and the Widow's Club of small town Sunshine, Colorado.

A year after he died, Lola has found out her husband cheated on her and she is determined to find out with whom. This mission results in several run ins with Drew, the local sheriff. He is dealing with some issues of his own that complicate his growing attraction to Lola.

The writing style was unique and quirky just like the citizens of Sunshine. In addition to Lola and Drew there were a number of secondary characters whose stories I am looking forward to reading.

This book is a light romance story. It deals with Lola has been widowed and who comes to discovery secrets her late husband was keeping. For me the book was more of Lola riding out about herself and discovering what she really wants out of life. After all, she moved to small town Colorado for a man she hardly knew. Now, she has to pick up the pieces and see what she wants to do now that he is gone and she is alone to deal with all his secrets. Lola really starts to question everything.

CAN’T HURRY LOVE is the first book in the Sunshine Valley series. Lola Williams is reeling from trying to come to grips with her husband dying. As she deals with this, she learns Randy kept some pretty big secrets! Now the Sunshine Valley Widows Club is trying to help her find her happily ever after and she wants no part of it! Hang on readers, CAN’T HURRY LOVE will have you giggling out loud!

While trying to get her life together, Lola asks Sheriff Drew Taylor to help her solve a mystery. He is a good guy but holds his heart close to his chest as he is currently fighting a custody battle with his ex. Lola, because of her cheating husband and the pain he caused, isn’t looking for a relationship either. Well you know how this is going to go right? Lola and Drew are loveable characters and I was rooting for them the whole time. Soon Lola finds herself with lots of friends and much support in Sunshine Valley but she never lets her guard down. CAN’T HURRY LOVE finds Lola recounting the event that changed her life and she kind of goes a little crazy. Hang on folks, the twists and turns will have you reading late into the night.

I was emotionally invested in Lola and I just wanted her to be happy and to smile again. She was so devastated when her life was turned upside down once again and I cried when she cried and I love when an author does that to me. I felt like I was right there with her and I was holding my breath at the end of CAN’T HURRY LOVE praying nothing bad was going to happen. Please, you have to give Melinda Curtis a try! You won’t be sorry. I can’t wait to read more by my new favorite author.

I can’t wait to return to Sunshine Valley to check in with my new bunch of friends. Melinda Curtis pulled me right in and hooked me from the very first page. She is now an auto buy author for me. Her characters feel very real. They aren’t perfect and while they all have flaws they are also very lovable. I now know I will devour everything this awesome author writes and do it all easily with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. I can not wait to continue this series!

I enjoyed this more than I expected to! It was cute, funny, and quirky. A great lighthearted read and/or palate cleanser for between heavier books!

Can't Hurry Love is the first book in a new series by Melinda Curtis. While I liked aspects of this story, there were just a few things that I couldn’t really get into
For instance , Drew's obsession with the idea that getting married would solve his custody battle

Then there was the main female character, Lola. While I liked her more then Drew, many of her actions were questionable. This was one of those stories where the main characters spend barely any time together and then all of a sudden are madly in love.

I did love getting to know this town, and will be returning for the second book.

Special thanks to Read Forever for providing our copy in exchange for an honest & fair review.

I really enjoyed the novella & I love the Matchmaking Widow's Club. This is a super cute series & I love the town.

I just wish this book was a bit shorter. It is incredibly long. Maybe that's just my preference. I think fans of Annie Rains & Raeanne Thayne will enjoy this series.

Thank you for the opportunity to be an early reader.

Lola Williams moved to Sunshine Valley after she married Randy. She gave up her dreams and her life in NYC. She came here to start her family. Her dreams ended when her husband died in a car accident. What she didn't expect was to find that Randy had cheated on her. Now she's broken and lost. She needs to know who his lover was so that she can start living again. Lola is an amazing character. She managed to both break my heart and make me howl with laughter. Randy's blow up dolls were an example. Lola and Sheriff Drew light up the page with their chemistry. He fights his attraction. He doesn't want or need this craziness. After all he's raising a precocious 6 year old and has his hands full with his mother and sisters but he can't stay away. Lola is trouble with a capital T. Add his crazy ex-wife and Rosie, his sister's pet pig and Drew is losing his mind. Can't Hurry Love is a wonderful feel good romance that I couldn't put down. The characters, the dialogue and the heartbreak combined with a sizzling romance were amazing. Thank you Melinda Curtis for taking me to Sunshine Valley and a HEA. I needed that!
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

The story has pain, laughs, and heartbreak.

This is Lola and Drew's story. Lola thought she knew Randy, but he had so many secrets. When she goes to the sheriff Drew for help, he agrees to help her. Uncovering Randy’s secrets brings these two together but will her being a city girl tear them apart? She wanted to leave and was not even sure she believed in forever anymore. Can Drew change her mind and make her want to stay?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.
